The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>>“NoNoNo! Don’t worry, won’t be mindblasting people or anything. More, um, partial animal shifting?”
Hmm. That was interesting. Gemma made a note. She knew he could not demonstrate his powers while in the room with her, but it was still good to know he was not a super powerful telepath with a memory loss. Those can really easily ruin one's day...
>>“Y-Yeah, I met with him. I had a few bumps and bruises from being attacked when I first woke up. He healed those but he said there was nothing done to my head. My brain is fine. Just…something he can’t explain... Neither can I, I’m afraid.”
"I see." well, there went that chance. If DocProf could not tell what was wrong in his head then it was either mutation related, or it was just... not there. Her nullifying aura ruled out the former. "Well, we'll just have to try finding out another way. I'll look into that." she finally walked over to him and offered a hand "My name is Gemma Taylor, by the way. I'm the school's guidance counselor. Feel free to seek me out with any questions or problems, I'm here to help." she smiled a bit "You will find that you can't use your powers around me. I am what they call an adapted human. I have an aura that cancels out mutant powers. Just a fair warning."
>> I see…Well, we'll just have to try finding out another way. I'll look into that."
Vicente nodded. Was the meeting finally over? Was he finally able to return to his regular schedule, hopefully with his ear still intact? It seemed as if she were willing to believe his story thus far so he felt rather good about that. Even if he didn’t fully appreciate the way in which she grabbed his attention, he knew that she was just out to keep the school safe.
Still, there were better ways than nearly pulling a student’s ear off. He casually rubbed his ear again before he turned back, watching as she removed herself from her desk and offer him a hand. He did his best not to flinch out of fear of her grabbing his ear again. Never can be too careful.

He nodded as he slowly reached out and took the woman’s hand. A small smile offered in response, he casually shook her hand in greeting.
“Nice to meet you,” he muttered.
Then he tilted his head. She had the ability to cancel out a mutant’s powers? No wonder she was the guidance counselor! All she would have to do was storm onto the scene of any dispute between mutants BAM![/b] they would be human again. Much easier to handle. He actually grinned a bit at the thought. She was most definitely not one to cross.
“Nifty to have,” he said with a nod, commenting on the woman’s abilities. “I don’t imagine that much gets past you.”
Adoration or a challenge? His tone could have carried that comment either way. No matter, though. He still offered her a friendly smile.

"Nothing does." she noted simply, with the smallest of smiles in the corner of her lips. She was quite sure of that, and years of experience had proved her right. Besides, it was better to give a fair warning to the newcomers.
That was that. She did not need to intimidate him any longer, and she still had stuff to do before lunch.
"Make sure to let me know if you need anything" she said, more friendly this time "And I will try to figure out a way to help recover your memories. In the meantime, you can sign up for classes or train with the seniors if you want. And I'll get you situated in the boy's dorm as soon as I can."
Vicente had to smirk a little. She definitely had an edge about her that he never wanted to cross. But, still, there was that idea of a challenge there. Obviously she didn’t come right out and tell him to try and get something by herself, but he felt that swelling in his chest that he needed to try now. If only to test the woman’s resolve. But, that would be for a later time. Right now he just wanted to get out of there before she reached out and pulled his other ear off and into oblivion.
God, it was still sore! She must have had practice in this.
Nodding that it was time for him to take his leave, Vicente turned to leave when he paused. The woman was circling around her desk to show him out. The smile on her face was far kinder than anything he had seen so far (except for Gina’s smile). He was continuously impressed by the lengths that people would go through at this school to help students.
He liked it.

He nodded. He was a bit saddened because he was growing to like his room a lot more, even if it was in the girl’s wing. But he had a feeling that it was not going to last forever. Eventually he would have to go since it was bound to make someone uncomfortable. So he would take his fate. Who knows, maybe he could make some more guy friends by moving. That’d be fun.
Offering her a warm smile in response, Vicente grinned.
“Sounds good, Miss. I’ll make sure to keep an eye out for you if I need anything,” he smiled. With that, he turned and headed out of her office, contemplating classes and other activities. So far…the danger room training sounded mighty interesting.
