The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The day wasn't terrible. Sara was out on the street with the rest of the inhabitants of New York. She hadn't been hassled too badly today for being a mutant and for the time, in her book, that was a good day. Heck. She even had Chinese take out to enjoy and make things better.
She was walking home, not even bothering to try to hide herself. She had a light weight jacket over a sleeveless top and loose jeans. An old back pack hung low on her shoulders, and over her right arm, she had a plastic bag full of take out cartons. One was open full of crab ragoons that she was snacking on.
Now if she could just get the problems with her business taken care of, life would be that much better. But for now, Sara was trying not to think about that. The sun was out, even though the air was only starting to turn crisp from fall into winter with it's harsh winds through the New York streets. The inhabitants of New York were only giving her strange looks, not shouting obscenities at her.
Today...was not a good day. Compared to all the other days since he'd been able to stay at the Mansion, today was the worst day. He'd left the Mansion shortly to go for a walk and get away from the God-forsaken good guys and children but what should happen when he leaves and heads into the city? He gets several quite large rocks thrown at him but James couldn't go and smash their skull against the wall. No. He had to be good. Atleast Monstrosity had his short supply of clothes on right? Yes but that's little compensation when insults are being hurled at you as well as other objects.
Today was not a good day.
James has been followed several blocks by a small group of for-lack-of-a-better-word thugs. They were following him insulting him as he moved but it was one insult that just made him snap.
"Hey Mutant! I bet your Mother wishes you were dead!"
Monstrosity stopped. He stopped dead. James turned his head and clenched his fists.
"You heard what he said! You stupid Mutant!" Said another one of the group.
James turned slowly and stomped towards him a small smile curling his lips. He peered down at the man, small in comparison.
"I may be stupid but atleast I can walk...."
A questioning and frightened look passed over the 'Stupid Mutant' mans face before he was lifted in the air by two of Monstrosity's arms, the other two arms reaching for his legs. Each of James' hands wrapped completely around their respective legs and he clenched. A sickening crack was heard as the human screamed in agony. Monstrosity dropped the Human taking no care with the Human's two broken legs.
The other men backed away as Monstrosity glared at each one in turn.
Crab ragoons were tasty. especially when you paired crab with shrimp. Shrimp. They remembered to put that it the bag too. Right? Sara stopped in the middle of the side walk opening her bag to rifle through the contents to find her carton of shrimp. Gah! Shrimp was good.
It was at that moment that Sara heard the punk cry out in pain. Sara's head pulled out of the bag that she'd been holding open in her search. Ok. So someone was in trouble and while Sara was no vigilante, she still found herself drawn to the scene.
Sara sprinted. moving faster than traffic beside her on the road, following her ears the short distance of a block. The bag of take out swinging half haphazardly, sometimes into the back of a passing pedestrian and not bothering to excuse herself.
It only took Sara a moment to make her way onto the scene and it was clear to see that there was a four armed mutant standing over another individual with two broken legs sprawled on the ground. Ok. It wasn't too hard to put part of the story from the most recent events together. Somewhere in the process Sara had set down her bigger bag of Chinese food on the ground, but for a lack of anything else to hold, she still had the carton of crunchy crab ragoons.
Though it didn't stay in her hand for a long amount of time. The first thing she did when she came to a stop only a few feet away from the action was throw the take out carton, and it's contents of what was left of any crab ragoons, at the attacker's head to get his attention. "Hey!" Sara Yelled at the taller, four armed, mutant trying to pull is attention to her. "I'm sure he deserved that, but you want to back off away from him?!"
Monstrosity was just about to unleash a rather serious beating on the other men when something hit him in the head. It wasn't too heavy and smelled of take-out. It was then he heard the voice. It was most likely another human looking out for their own. He could understand that...Doesn't mean he had to like it.
James was ordered to step away. A smirk lit his features. A second later Monstrosity's large foot came crashing down on the man's leg at a different place then the already established breakage. James turned his whole body around to face the new 'attacker' and was surprised at what he saw. A female? Cat person....
"Okay...Backed off."
Monstrosity took a step from the thug towards the cat-person. Monstrosity examined her. She was definitely a mutant and she could probably understand his plight.
"Why do you care anyway? I'm sure you've had your fair share of Human prejudice and discrimination."
The mutant didn't back down right away but still stepped on a non broken area of the norm's leg. He howled making Sara flinch at the sound and her ears flatten against the back of her head. Apparently someone wasn't having as good of a day as she was before now. Right now.... well we'll just see how the next few moments played out.
She was just out of arms reach for him and fairly confident in her speed that she'd be able to dodge something at this attack if he decided to attack her. Though when he stepped closer to her she didn't move either.
"Yes. I have." Sara replied. Her amber eyes staring right back at the taller, larger, more armed, mutant. "You'll make it worst." Sara had friends who were mutants and who were humans. They both were worth fighting for. Sara was not an innocent mutant by any means. Still. What was she supposed to do. Stand by and take the easy way out? Ha!
