Character
Personality: Vladimir is a introvert, he has very few friends and has general distaste for most people. However that's not to say he is mean 100% of the time. He does enjoy the occasional party or game as any other person, just don't catch him on a bad day. He knows his generally angry personality hinders his social life but being a introvert he doesnt care as much.
His mutation has given Vladimir a very warped sense of reality. Creating so many illusions of fearful things has jaded him greatly, he can still be afraid of things like anyone else but it's different for him. He knows when he should be afraid, but is never afraid of the concequences, only the thing itself. Meaning for example, he could be afraid of getting hit by a car but not of the potential death that would follow.
He cannot truly trust others anymore due to his mutation, after creating so many illusions that others swore were real, he does not view reality as 'reality'. This has led to his history with gambling problems, it's not really him that loses in his eyes, but basically his avatar he inhabits. People are not individuals to him but merely illusions of his own, this detachment is what allows him to not feel or care for his victims wellbeing, as in his eyes they are not truly there.
Hobbies/ Interests:He loves finding “deserving” people to torment as he goes about his day. He also enjoys alcohol, games like chess or mahjong and card games (gambling). Has a interest in old kung-fu movies and practicing his boxing.
Job or part time job and description: He works at a local gym, helping people with workout routines or sparring with fellow boxing enthusiasts. He never uses his power where he works, as that has led to some bad expiriences in his past workplaces.
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: That no one will be afraid of him, or that others will find out his darkest fear.Waking up from his own illusions.
Special talents:He enjoys a good game of Mahjong every once in a while, boxing, he can hold his liquor pretty well, has been known to do well in gambling most of the time.He is good at weighing the concequences which has helped his gambling and his gaming from time to time.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Neutral/evil. He feels pleasure in other's pain. Whenever he can, as it's his hobby, he inflicts fear into others with his powers where ever he goes. He doesn't miss a wink of sleep either, it's basically a stress reliver for him. That being said if he does have friends he wont torture them, he might not be prince charming but he will be a good friend to those he likes, just like anyone else would be. He doesn't care what your occupation is, as he feels he isn't in a position to judge. Drug dealer or hotel manager, it's all a means to an end in his eyes.
Mutations
Mutation description: Vladimir was born with the ability to look at a person and immediately know their deepest and darkest fears, as if read to him out of a book. Using his power he can then use that information to create illusions or feelings of dread and doubt based on that fear, the more uneasy or scared the person becomes, the bigger and stronger the illusions can become for that individual. He can also feel the person's level of fear as it rises.
Once he sees you and your fears, he can first plant feelings of worry and dread into your mind, you might not be able to get dark thoughts out of your head, or you might have the feeling that your fears are close by. The more scared or worried you become, the stronger the feeling until you start seeing things in the corner of your eye. Once true fear takes hold of you, it's halloween time, as Vladmir's illusions can then fully manifest as large beasts or swarms of spiders, whatever your fear is he can make you hallucinate it. The rare occasions where a person becomes wracked with deep seated terror, borderline going insane, his illusions can max out in power and scope, and he can make you live out your fear in your head as if it was happening that very moment. It's as if you were suddenly thrown into a living mightmare. (This is not a common occurance, and would only happen to your character if you wanted it to via roleplaying.)For this to occur however, he would have to sit down and be meditating the whole time you were trapped in the living nightmare. If interupted the nightmare would vanish instantly.
He can only use his powers on one person at a time, and he must be within sight of the victim. He can be moderatly far away but must be within 50 yards of his victim. If he were to leave the raidus of his powers during a illusion, the person would immediately lose sight of any illusions, and the feeling of dread and fear would fade away quickly over the course of a minute or less. As long as he is focused on a single individual and is in his area, the feelings of fear will linger for a hour or more, but if the individual somehow breaks the illusion or Vladimir chooses to end them, the target is immune to further attacks for a 24/hr period.
Vladimir must be activly willing his fear and illusions to exist for them to do so, and he must be thinking of the individual he wishes them to attack. He can choose the specific illusions he wishes you to see, or he can choose to let your imagination take it's hold on you.(this allows roleplayers some say in what they might see or feel) Strongly defended minds might range from not being effected at all to never becoming truly afraid just uneasy and/or jumpy.
He can scare as many people a day as he wants, but only because most people would not know why they were suddenly attacked by fearful images. It can be dangerous using his power 24/7, as eventually he might get caught doing it and attacked, outside moderate boxing skills he is just a regular person and certainly couldn't defend himself against most mutants.
His powers also have diminishing returns. If he were to target the same person every day, the person will start to build a tolerance, each day their chances of escaping the illusions and feelings of fear would double, and the duration would be cut in half. Vladimir must wait several days in between attacks to avoid this.
As for what illusions he can create, he can only create illusion specifically tied to your fear. If your afraid of spiders for example, he could only create spider related images, he couldnt make you see anything else. However within a living nightmare, he can make you see anything. Using the spider example again, within the nightmare he could create a whole scenario, you going into a room, door locking, a small box on the floor exploding into spider swarms etc.
Also if for whatever reason Vladimir becomes afraid of someone, his powers can never work on that individual until he can master his own fear of them. If the person he is afraid of is even near him while Vladimir tries to scare another, it is twice as hard to use his powers. ( range, time limit, scope and strength of illusions are all cut in half, and to break free of the fear is relativly easy.)
Strengths: Can be done from a distance, all he has to do is be able to see you for his powers to work. Can instill fear into others anywhere from mildly uncomfortable to eye-bulging insane terror. Can instill feelings of fear and dread from a distance. Can un-nerve even strong willed indivudals at times.
Weaknesses and Limitations: Must be within range and powers only work on those he can see. The fear is only a illusion, it cannot hurt you as it's not really there. If a target fully breaks free of his illusions, they are immune for a 24/hr period, and his powers suffer from diminishing returns. Living nightmare scenarios are very rare and cannot occur very often due to the fact Vladimir must meditate during it or it is broken. If he is afraid of you his powers cannot work on you, and if the person he is scared of is nearby, it is much more difficult to use his mutation.

History Of Your Character Vladimir was born in Alaska in 1989. His father was a crab fisherman and his mother had died giving birth to him, causing extreme and deep seated anger and resentment in his father toward his son. He lived a extremly rough life in Alaska until he was old enough to afford to move, his father had nothing to vent his insane anger on but his only son. He never was beaten, but the emotional trama of his childhood haunts Vladimir and will never go away.

Where did you learn about this site?:Found it a long while back randomly searching the internet, and finally came around to actually applying.

Sample RP: A donut from the bakery on his way home from work, the neverending ocean of cars honking at him from the street, and the swarm of people on the sidewalks, bumping into each other hurrying to where ever they were going. It was just another end of the day routine in the city for Vladimir Voldarsich, but there was so much yet to do. He could see the people walking around him, their clothes and their faces, most of them hard and cold. So many people so close together yet they pretended that they were alone, inside their heads they were alone dispite the crowd. But they weren't alone even there, Vladimir had a ticket inside, if only for one attraction, the main attraction as far as he was concerned. Hundreds of things flashed through Vladimir's mind as he walked down the street's path. Hundreds of various fears from all the people around him were being stolen, fears people would never tell another soul for as long as they lived were Vladimir's to do with as he pleased merely on a whim of curiosity. Their secrets were his as well. He smiled to himself as he walked, to him this was better than any movie or game. You can learn quite a bit about someone just based on what they are afraid of, some might be surprized just how much.
As Vladimir got onto the subway home, tightly packed in with other people, he noticed a fat man in a buisness suit across from him, clacking away on a small laptop oblivious to everything else. Vladimir knew more about him than anyone else there, for only he could see what the man feared to lose. He looked succesful, wealthy even with his watches and rings on his hands, but Vladimir knew it was a lie, as he sat across from the fat man silently laughing. This man was fake, taunted his whole life because of his looks and his lack of accomplishment, this man chooses to look succesful. Even the passing glance of strangers is enough to boost this man's pitiful ego, as he truly works for a pitiful gas station and is very poor, and is deeply afraid of anyone finding out that he is actually a nobody. Everythign about his was a fabrication, even the watches and rings on his hands were not real, only real life illusions that could fool everybody but one.
The one secret this man holds to himself is not his anymore. If Vladimir wanted to, he could rip this man's secret away and make him go mad. Just having that power was alone enough to make Vladimir feel alive. He didn't even need to terrorize this man, he could sense that the man was already doing that to himself all the time, constantly scared someone might recognize him and ask why he is dressed so nicely, or worse still, call him out in front of others.
What a spooky character,absolutely fascinating ability with a lot of potential. Our more traumatized characters will have quite a hard time with you. It will be interesting to see him in action with the massive variety of characters on MRO.
