Mademoiselle, just wondering what's the current situation with Hymn? According to her profile, she was or is in a mental institution, but i gather that information is pretty old, since the profile is from 2008. Is she at the Mansion or at Sanctuary? Is she in more control of her ability or kinda bonkers?
I DO have an idea we could work with, but it's something I've never given much thought to. Miles has always been interested in knowing what his dogs are thinking, since he can hook to their senses, but not their thoughts.
I still have no clue what he'd find inside their heads, so this needs a little more thinking on my part, but if Hymn is available somewhere, we could start an intro thread, have him find out what she can do, awkward moments ensue since Miles mind tends to wander with improper thoughts from time to time (specially if Hymn happens to be good looking) and I don't know... maybe work from there?
Then again, it sounds a bit like a 'me' thread, and I'd rather it be a 'you' thread. If you have any idea for your character to actually need two dogs and their master, let me know, but I can help you come up with ideas once I know what her current situation is.
she is about 21 now and out on the streets of new york. Hymn knows some people from mostly the sanctuary and had a room there for a while. As far as her powers go she still doesn't have much control over them
- Miles is in Sanctuary now. Maybe he's staying in her old room and finds something really valuable or personal and tries to find the owner. He can always have his dogs track the scent, so he wouldn't even need to ask around. The plot would revolve around the McGuffin I guess, so it would have to be something worth returning. Love letters? Personal ones or Diary? (he would likely open and read at least a few pages). Family heirloom? Don't know. Doesn't seem to have much legs though, but if you think of something worth using for something like this, let me know.
- Hymn returns to Sanctuary for one night for whatever reasons. She thinks her room is still empty but... HAH! No. I can't think of a plausible reason why she wouldn't be given a temporary room elsewhere or why she wouldn't stay with one of her acquaintances (this needs some work, maybe the place is full and her friends are out?), but I just thought it'd be fun if they had to share the room for one night. She would have to put up with undead dogs staring at her with their red eyes while he would have to tolerate a woman who can hear his every thought. Awkwaaaaard...
- A variation of the first idea. Someone, maybe someone with bad intentions, wants to find Hymn. He could be a government NPC character or another player if anyone's interested in fetching themselves a gullible telepath. He ends up dropping by her old room In Sanctuary and finds Miles instead, but also figures Miles can find her using his dogs to track down her scent from a piece of something from hers the guy has. Miles thinks it's an easy way to make a quick buck. He can be gullible too. (This would likely be a thread where our characters would find themselves somewhere down the line and not immediately, so it also needs some work).
- A big event with a full crowd. Hymn is there, Miles as well nearby. She hears the thoughts of a terrorist intent on blowing everything up but also hears Miles thoughts as a fellow mutant and asks for his help (normal cops won't believe her). They then try to find the terrorist among the crowd. This could be a bit of an action thread and could even have a third player as well.
I'll see if I can come up with more concrete ideas when I get off from work...
