The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“I just called that thing by incantations. I didn’t see them speak. Hercules channels the power through his tattoos and body. I didn’t see them speak. If it’s an item I can get the owl to grab it. I just can’t tell yet. Can you ask for an answer again?” William asked as two more men in black trench coats entered taking off their hats and muttering spells of their own.
One of them had a large cat made of spectral purple. “Shadow!” the hell hound vanished into a shadow and leapt out to match the purple tiger. The other spellcaster brandished a sword that glowed silver and charged at them. “Like he had a sword.” indicating that was how he was channeling his power. Was William the only mystic who had read into magic?
The owl flew away as the fireballs bombarded the caster and Rex charged. William used this time to wheel himself to cover. The squeaking of the wheels was music to Hercules’s ears. His young master was still safe.
Pulling himself from an indented marble wall feature Atlas dusted his shoulder off. “We are many and you cannot win.” with the reinforcements here Atlas walked slowly towards William. “Give us the manacles boy. He’s too much power for you alone.”
The man with the glowing sword charged Rex.
William stopped moving as another mystic walked out from a shadow and raised his hand towards William. The boy struggled to move as if he was frozen in place.
”William!” Hercules lunged and charged the man holding the boy in place lifting him and slamming him down onto the ground hard. The mystic stopped moving and Hercules stood proud and placed himself in front of the boy and Atlas.
”This is my decision to make. The boy is the most worthy to wield my strength. That was how I came to this era. Don’t question my judgement while you attack a child. You will never wield my power.” his glow seemed brighter as Atlas charged the prince of power again.

The son of Olympus beamed as his hand was met with a slightly timid approach ”Anges. Anges Belladonna Honey.” he did his best to commit it to memory. No doubt he’d be meeting many new faces. All of them though the god had deemed worthy of his friendship. ”You did excellent today! Was it your first battle?”
Just then Anges was hugged and kissed it was Anges’s girlfriend. Hercules let out an audible ‘awww’ before waving his hand dismissively at the thought of having to anything to apologize for. ”Adorable! Panicked girlfriend, there is nothing to apologize about. It was a fierce and dangerous battle and I am proud to have fought alongside Agnes! You have every right have panicked!” she was on a different battlefield but it was the same war. ”Never apologize for how you feel!”
The god roared with laughter and placed his hands on his hips flexing in the process, ”I heard about that! I wish I could have seen it!” I’m sure it was glorious! I too have a few relatives that could deserve a good punch! Truly inspiring!”
A shot glass was set down in front of Hercules and he beamed at the sight of the man who rode the Elizabeth’s ex into battle. ”I did! A pleasure August! Thank you!” Hercules snagged the shot and hoisted it in the air which looked comical because of how careful he was not to crush it.

”Ha Ha! Yes!” the prince of power was still shirtless showing off a few new battle scars. Soot still caked parts of his body as he raised the colored shot above his head. ”Wonderfully said Madison! And thank you for offering up your place of business for us to celebrate! If there is anything you need me to do help just say it! I’m so proud of all of you!”
The son of Zues set the glass down gently and put on the shirt that was offered to him. It read, ‘Where the magic happens’
While it was a sad occasion it was also important to celebrate the victory and while Hercules was bearing the weight of failing the mansionites he tried to plaster a smile on his face. Injuries would heal, and buildings could be rebuilt. Thankfully no one on their side was gravely injured.
William refused to come along saying he was tired and wanted to focus on anyone who needed his healing abilities. Meaning the prince of power was free to enjoy the festivities.
”Another!” Hercules roared for another drink and patted the nearest person on the back someone he didn’t know. ”I’m Hercules!” and offered them a handshake, ”And you are?”
Hexes were flying in towards them, one bounced off of his club while another few hit those around them. Looking up Hercules found one of the attackers and tossed his club upwards the mystic wasn’t prepared for the speed nor the weight of the weapon, they continued onward with an upward trajectory till they were out of the fight and sent back towards the mansion gates.
A mystic was snatched out of the air as they tried to fly past the demi-god. ”What’s this!?! You would try to ignore me? A god! Ha ha! You foolish mortals!” the sprinklers came on and started to dose his body as the moisture seemed to help him glow more. “I shall let non pass as I still draw breath!”
Another round of projectiles flew towards him and he hefted the mystic he caught and used the man as a shield. “Projectiles!?! Does no one have the courage to face me in battle!?!”
His answer came soon after, vehicles appeared before them and started to charge. Hercules tossed the hexed mystic to the side and called his club roaring with laughter! “Serena! Bare witness to my might! Stand behind me!” the club came zooming back and landed in his hand with a loud crack before he threw it again at one of the vehicles.
The club buried itself into the ground right before the van rolled over onto its side making it next to useless. The god still had no idea that Serena was off helping Amielia in the corner of the building his eyes were focused forward. The flames of Rex of the inferno deterred the other vehicle only for a moment. It started to move forward sending a few hexes flying at his allies.
Hercules charged stopping the vehicle and hefting it above his head. “Is this all you come with!?!” it was hardly a challenge to the god but only then did he notice that the numbers of mystics were increasing. He threw it at the nearest wave of mystics who were exiting the same portal the vehicles came out of.

The prince of power wiped the spit from his face and chuckled. ”How can I stay down? When those I fight with inspire me so?!” Hercules rose and caught a fist as Atlas tried to plant one right in his jaw. The demi-god struggled for a moment as he found his footing. It was his whole body against Atlas’s fist, no not just his body. His willpower, where he found his strength.
“Make it bigger, if I get hit I might lose control of Shadow and Hercules is useless without me.” William said looking as the shield turned into a dome and covered them both. William took a breath and started muttering under his breath. Pulling some magic to channel into Hercules as the shield was bombarded.
“You can’t win..." Another fist shot into Hercules’s face the god chuckled as it seemed to be weaker than before. “How are you getting stronger?” the son of Zeus grew brighter as he stood taller. ”Because I don’t fight for myself.” Hercules brought his head down hard on Atlas causing the man to go dizzy for a moment, long enough for Hercules to throw him across the room. This time not as worried what the man hit William and Rex of the Inferno were in danger.
“On it.” William stopped chanting and snapped his eyes open and pointed towards a small statue of an owl. A blue spectral owl formed before it and started flapping it’s wings. “Go!” the owl flew at the attacker and gouged one of it’s eyes with a loud ‘scree’
”Another summon?” Herc said in disbelief. Was he not enough?
“You should be focusing on Atlas.” William chided and looked to Rex “Can you figure out how they are channeling?”
The fire erupted near him and he ignored it, Rex of the inferno was no foe, no one he stood with today was. “Hmmm?” green eyes focused on the woman next to him and he realized he had met this woman before. “Yes! Ha I am and it is!”
>“Charge their stronghold!!!”
The conversation would have to continue later. “At last!” roared Hercules his glowing green eyes looked forward. It was his job to protect the entrance. Elizabeth was on the other side and his master were scattered throughout. “Rex of the inferno, should I vanish fear not! My masters may need me... we shall not let them cross the threshold!” his club was lifted from the ground and hefted upwards as he pointed to the giant gooey whale.
“Such parlor tricks mean nothing to a god! Let me show you the power of my club!” Hercules threw the club and the power draw from his masters was miniscule, they were close and in numbers meaning the draw would be less. The club sped through the air whistling as it went and met the whale. Instead of bashing the creature like he had intended it to do the club just entered the whale with a ‘plop’ and cleared through it to the other side where it crashed into the ground behind the creature.
Hercules roared with laughter at his failed attempt “What a fortuitous day! A true challenge! May my masters witness my might! Club!” the club responded to the summons and shot from the ground back through the monstrous whale and back into his hand with a loud ‘crack’.
“Herc!” The god was about to throw his club again with more power then looked up to the roof as Sam of the rime was falling towards him.
“Throw me towards the entrance!” It was seconds but the god reacted in time turning and catching Sam out of midair spinning to build up speed, the god glowed and grunted as he released Sam of the Rime towards the main gates, his hand reached up to his eyes to block any glare as he watched his strength at work.
William knew sighed, he was going to ask who Matthew was but didn’t bother as Rex continued to speak. Scripture. The firefighter was almost as bad as Hercules.
”Through willpower!” Hercules roared as he caught the pedestal and set it down to the side doing his best from destroying anything. This would not be another Library of Alexandria incident. The god just had to keep telling himself that.
Atlas charged and lunged for the god wrapping his arms around him trying to slam him into the wall. ”Ha! I knew it! It couldn’t have been my Atlas. You just stole his name.” Hercules dug his feet into the ground stopped the charge and reached under the shorter man and lifted him into a suplex. Falling backwards the god shouted, ”It’s a different Atlas!” as if it would answer everything.
“Shadow, fetch.” William eyed the other spellcaster who was throwing bolts of energy. One of them turned before hitting the shield. “They are adapting. Does your shield get bigger?” the boy continued to move into cover the squeaks of movement behind Rex gave the man his heading. “Helpful as always, we should keep moving.”
Atlas rolled from the break in the flooring and brought Hercules down with a sweep.
The woman was detailed. One of the many things he adored about the woman sitting in front of him. Despite the physical and mental exhaustion of the days events, she didn’t miss anything important. Except the magic. Beaming with pride he listened as Elizabeth retold the events. True, it lacked the bravado and suspense a true story teller would impart but Hercules did have centuries to perfect the craft.
“We didn’t have a location but we heard about it.” the officer said jotting the rest of the report. “Think you got us all the proof we need.” Rodrigez put her pen down and reached for the phone and punched in an extension. “Sir, about that dog ring in yesterdays briefing. I got a location-” ”Allow me to assist!” Hercules roared making sure he was heard on the other end.
A few of the dogs started to bark and the son of Zeus recalled the strain everything was putting on Elizabeth. ”Apologies.” he placed a hand on her shoulder then looked back to the officer. Rodriguez looked to Herc and then Elizabeth and smiled, “We’ll call you when we do.”
Hercules stood sentinel by the front doors glowing green as a warning. This was a place to be protected. William was enrolled here now and he was also in the medical wing with the mansion healer. On standby, the boy shouldn’t of been there but the god didn’t have the heart to deny the boy the revenge he was so obsessed with. They killed his father and hospitalized his mother. He was also apt at healing now. Not to mention his hellhound would be there to protect the others who weren’t on the front lines.
Snow obscured green before melting away on the god’s bare chest. He was battle ready, his club hummed under his hands itching for battle. It was sad, that so many would be willing to attack a school for children. Mortals. For everything good about them, it could be argued that there was just as much wrong.
”I thank you in allowing me to join this fight. I thank you in allowing William to attend here. As I draw breath no harm shall befall this school.” Roared the god to any who would listen.
”Who do you work for!?!” Hercules roared as the punches stopped him dead in his tracks, one might even say they pushed him back with each punch. He was quick too, the first strike wasn’t something he was expecting and he had a hard time following each strike after. The glowing continued.
“It really doesn’t matter. You’ll be dead or his soon anyways.” the short man said as he cracked his neck with a quick jerk to the side. “Now, give up. Or I’ll make you.” he rubbed his nose a little and started walking towards Hercules way too confidently.
”Larger men than you have tried!” Hercules said dodging the next blow, catching it and then flipping the short man over with enough force to knock someone out. It didn’t though he rolled and threw Hercules with ease to one of the nearest exhibits.
William watched as Hercules exchanged blows. The god was getting his *** kicked. “Atlas”... William looked to Hercules and shouted, “Atlas?” another flurry of spells stopped short of Rex’s shield and he looked down at his legs for a moment to think. “Well enough. Shadow, protect.” phantom barks sounded throughout the museum as the dog barked once and dove into the nearest shadowed area.
”The titan!?!” Hercules pushed himself up from his broken bust it would be impossible. He hadn’t seen any gods or titans in this realm for centuries. It couldn’t have been. Unless... they stole his name!
The hell hound erupted from one of the shadows near the other two mystics who were throwing spells and trying to close the gap between them and William. One of the mystics screamed as Shadow started to maul him. “How did you get the name?” William asked as Hercules asked, ”Is your boss Atlas?”
“Our employer would like the return of his things. In fact he said he’d take all the artifacts that you stole. Little William...” the voice sparked a little recognition in the young boy but couldn’t place the voice or the face. Where had they seen him before?
The wheels of his chair squeaked as the boy shifted to look to the exit that was covered by two others. They waved their hands and some wards started to stitch into the open air to the exit. One of the sigils was recognizable as ‘lock’.
“They locked us in.” William said to Hercules as Rex jumped into a fighting stance. “Shadow.” the boy said as from his own shadow a massive beast crawled out and faced the two warding them in.
”Hear that William? Their employer... wants back the things you stole.” the god never approved of theft but knew the boy meant well. He also knew the things he stole were in far better hands than those he stole it from.
“Good... I have questions. I want a name.... Herc.... get me one.” the god started to glow as he roared with laughter. ”A name I shall get! Bear witness to the might of a god!” he said before charging in. Rex of the inferno stood sentinel next to his master so there was little the god had to worry about.
Pride washed all over his face seeing William break down like that and admit the mistakes that were made. The child was resilient and would learn from his mistakes and hopefully gain a little patience out of it. William took the handkerchief and looked at it for a moment then dabbed at his eyes. “.... thanks...” before Rex started to speak of the wonders his god is capable of.
It sounded too good to be true, then again there were benevolent gods. He happened to be one, he just didn’t have the power of seeing the future and planning accordingly. That was usually reserved for the fates. Hercules was but a child compared to them.
Speaking of... ”It seems your class has moved on without us.” Hercules said noting the empty room. Two men in black suit jackets walked by with some dividing chains and a sign, ‘wing closed’ which was odd. They were still in it and would be throughout the museum all day. ”I thought we were supposed to be here all day?” the god asked William.
“Thought they would never leave...” someone said across the hall. Standing in the corner a short man removed a cap coming into full view. “Been looking for you two for some time.... hard to imagine too. You being a god and all.” that was all the god needed to hear before stepping in front of William. Good thing he did too because there was a flash of light and a beam that hit Hercules in the chest.

The child was desperate. He was crying now and looked from the ground to Hercules then to Rex. His eyes filled with sadness, rage and hate. He was tired and wanted to sleep now, to curl up and vanish from the world. He couldn’t though. He knew that. William was still a child but he knew enough, the world wouldn’t let him nor would Hercules allow it.
The child waved a hand and the hell hound went to the nearest pedestal and faded away in the shadows giving Hercules and Rex of the inferno one last glare. Red eyes were the last of the summon to be seen. With that Hercules let out a loud sigh.
Ignoring the blood on his arm he sniffed allowing his own tears to fall. It was a beautiful moment. One Hercules wished he could remember for the rest of time. The kindness, the loss. It was a extravagant range of emotions. One that was proof that mortals were capable of so much. Much more than any god could replicate.
“.... it hasn’t worked yet.” William finally said wiping his eyes. He was still angry and bitter but when Rex crouched all the fight went out of the boy. Rex was not who he was looking for. The boy stopped praying when his father died. Hercules was the only ‘god’ who seemed to listen to him.
”Doesn’t mean it won’t happen.” Hercules walked over and placed his non-bloodied hand on William’s shoulder and crouched so he too was ‘eye level’ still towering over the boy and Rex he smiled. ”and I have said this before. I will be there until it does. You aren’t alone William.” William didn’t make eye-contact with anyone for a moment.
Rex’s words seemed to wash over William for a moment it was clear the boy wasn’t in his right state of mind, he was full of grief which was why Hercules also tried again. His legs buckled as he felt his power waiver from William. It hurt the god, to be cut off from one he was so close to. Even if it was only for a moment.
”William, I cannot harm someone who is innocent. I cannot harm a friend. We discussed this when we agreed to work together. Please... do not make me do this.” he wouldn’t as much as he loved William and adored the boy he could not and would not harm someone who had done so much good in the world. People needed heroes like Rex of the inferno. They were the ones who could show up when he couldn’t. Save when he couldn’t.
“He’s the one... he controls fire. You said it yourself. Of the inferno!” the dog growled and pulled Hercules. The god roared back and hefted the dog. ”William! Listen to me!” the dog rolled and kicked Hercules in the head and was about to charge Rex before the demi-god grabbed the back of his leg mid air and tossed him in the opposite direction again sending the beast into a concrete wall.
”He is a friend and would help us should you only ask of it!” “Can he bring my dad back!?!” William cried looking down, “Can he fix my legs? Can he help my mom!?!”
“Why are you getting in my way?” William asked clearly not in the right state of mind. “You promised you’d help me. Protect me. This man killed my dad... and my mom...” the boy trailed off his eyes watering as he looked back to shadow and issued another silent command. The dog charged again but stopped when Hercules stepped in front of it again.
”Boy! Do you know who I am? I’m a protector! I wouldn’t have fought alongside Rex of the inferno if I did not trust his character!” William shook his head, “But he controls fire! He did it!” the dog leapt again fangs barred as it latched onto Hercules’s already bloodied forearm. The hell hound tried to pull Hercules out of the way but couldn’t as the god started to glow. ”You can heal, does that mean you tried to kill me with plants or tried to graft my skin onto another creature?” the words rang out as he roared.
It seemed to catch William’s attention long enough for the command to be issued, “Hercules... I order you to kill him....”
The god’s expression dropped and he felt his muscles tense, glowing got brighter and the god looked to be in visible pain. Not from the bite, but the command. It was... horrible. ”I... refuse!” the dog pulled again and Hercules felt his legs weaken. ”I... will... not... harm.... him....”
