The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

“Officer down I repeats officer down! Corner of fifth and main, known mutant, two unknowns, Requesting backup!”
”T.M.D. Sam on my way, do what you can to prevent anyone else from getting injured!” Two blocks away that wasn’t a bad trip but seeing as the streets of New York were… well the streets of New York the time it would take him to get there only increased by a few minutes. Looking around Sam’s feet iced up as he dropped the coffee in his hand and headed on his way, small spikes of ice formed under his feet to increase traction and thus increasing his speed.
Two minutes far faster than he had expected as he arrived on screen. Three police cars were pulled over in the street as six cops were hiding behind each one, the closest to Sam had the injured officer, a woman by the looks of it and what was more upsetting she looked like she was in a great deal of pain.
Turning his run into a full sprint as he approached the cop cars Sam tucked and rolled as he saw out the corner of his eye a white looking slug flying in direction. To his relief it missed him for the most part, it only managed to touch the ice spikes on the bottom of his feet. As he rolled and continued onto his sprint he noticed that his footing was beginning to un-level. Now behind the police cars Sam felt two more slug things bounce off the hood of the car he was hiding behind.
Crouching up slightly as he looked at the car hood he noticed that the area where they had dented before flying started to melt with a green looking liquid. ”Acid?” Sam asked to the nearest officer who was busy trying to help his partner. “I don’t know, it clipped her shoulder!” breathing in quickly Sam took a look at his foot and sighed, the bottom of his shoes started to wear away, defiantly acid.
”Let me see the wound!” Sam demanded of the officer, the officers for the most part were all informed of Sam and what he could do, which was most likely the reason he was so willing to allow Sam to help his partner.
She was screaming and writhing in pain and all Sam could do is eye the white worm slowly disappear into her flesh. ”Deep breaths alright? Things are going to get very cold!” Sam grabbed her hand to let everything was alright as his hand started to glow blue as it reflected the light due to the ice. Carefully Sam touched his hand to the end of the slug as the tip of his finger, which was covered in ice started to sizzle as the ice around his finger quickly began to melt. ”Shit!” muttered Sam as he kept his concentration on the slug and the reforming of ice on his fingertip as he tried to pull it out.
The Ranger exited an office building and made his way to his bike which was parked by a meter. The sound of gunshots rang out. The sound was faded signifying a decent distance. The Ranger assessed that the number of gunshots he heard in such a small timespan meant that many guns were being fired. A police shootout. Reaching his bike he took hold of his bike helmet and placed it on his head and turned the key bringing his black Hayabusa to life. As far as he could tell the gunshots had come from the North-East. With his helmet on the gunshots were squelched, but he hoped he would only have to travel a short distance until he could see the patrol cars of the officers involved.
After a brief ride the patrol cars were in fact visible. Pulling into an alley the Ranger stashed his bike in between a fire escape and a dumpster. He then closed and climbed up on top of the dumpster. The lower ladder of the fire escape was up and he had to jump onto the lowest platform to climb up onto the building's roof. And upon reaching the roof he made his way to the side of the building that over looked the criminals. Kneeling down he looked down, wishing he had a pair of binoculars. He could clearly see two of the criminals firing guns, but the third seemed to be firing something at the police which he couldn't make out. Turning to look at the police side he saw three patrol cars and a small army of police using the three cars as cover. One officer seemed to be down and had a man who did not appear to be an officer over her.
The Ranger knew if this shootout drug out for too long many people would wind up getting injured. Sadly, the Ranger didn't have a rife. He figured he could end this right now if he had one. Perhaps though he could buy the police a chance to move in. He knew that a tranq dart would not have the the ability to cover the needed distance with any semblance of accuracy so he would just have to use live ammo. Reaching for the 9mm under his right arm he drew it out. Of his two guns on him, this one was loaded with live ammo.
He took aim for the closest of the two gun toting criminals and fired. The shot rang out and the bullet hit its mark.
Or did it?
The bullet appeared to strike the criminal but bounced off as if some force came between the bullet and the criminal.

The sound of gunfire continued to ring out as the window inches about his head blew out, ducking more and dragging the woman closer to the cruiser Sam erected a small dome of ice over him and the woman, at least half a dome one that in his experience was more than enough to be labeled as bullet proof and seeing as none of the shooters had high powered rifles he figured it would be enough till his work was done.
Eyes fixed on the slug still burrowing into the hole that it created Sam’s fingers traced around the circle and sighed, ”Hold still!” activating his power and focusing on the area that was being eaten away by the acid Sam quickly severed the nerve endings with frostbite, yes it would be painful but he knew a certain mutant that could heal frostbite with ease. Regrowing dissolved tissues on the other hand, who knew. After the nerve endings were gut Sam forced his fingers in the wound and despite his discomfort due to the acid he manages to get his fingers on the burrowing slug.
With a quick tug and a shrill scream from the woman who passed out right after Sam managed to pull the slug from her flesh and with a few wriggling movements it quickly died in his hands. Was it the cold that did it or the fact that he pierced it? It didn’t matter to Sam he would find out soon enough. When he confronted the mutants after he got the police free from the slugs and shootouts.
Looking to the woman partner Sam yelled, ”Get an ambulance here Pronto!” the man nodded and pulled his walkie out and made the call as Sam’s body covered in ice. Again thick enough that it would be considered bullet proof but that however didn’t mean that the bullets would slow him down at all. Looking to the other officers he gave them the signal to cover him as he took a few breaths and hopped the hood and slide making his way as quickly as he could to the three mutants.
Tucking and rolling Sam managed to dodge an oncoming slug and a bullet, looking up at the sky Sam say a flash of metal fly past his vision from where he was just was. Were the cops that quick to fire? Maybe because shortly after the first bullet whooshed past his field of view a few more followed, adrenaline pumping Sam sat upright and ran for cover behind the first car, which was to the left of the mutants who were so determined to win regardless who was in danger.
The bullet had bounced of something, it may have been a fluke. The Ranger fired a few more rounds, which all led to the same result. Apparently someone who could throw up a personal ice armor had made a move toward the criminals but after his rounds had been squeezed off the ice man took cover behind a car. This was good, he didn't want anyone in the way when he uped the game on the criminals.
Th Ranger pulled up his right pant leg and strapped to his ankle was a holster for a Smith and Wessen .500 magnum revolver. He figured some little mutant force field wouldn't be able to handle the massive force of a .50 caliber magnum round. Drawing out the gun he aimed and fired a round. The blast was the loudest to erupt in the area so far and the half inch diameter round slammed into the criminals force field. The immense energy held inside the round challenged the mutants power and as a result a ripple effect seemed to emanate from the impact point and move about an invisible sphere surrounding the criminal. The round hung in the air for a quarter second and then fell to the ground.
Seeing that not even his ace in the hole would work he would just have to resort to a good old fashioned fist fight. Question was, how to get down? In a dire situation he could easily make his way up the building, but a fall would never end well even with his power's assistance. He left the the 9mm on the ground holstered the revolver for later use.
He made his way back to the fire escape, a few rounds being fired up at the building's roof now. That would make his plan more dangerous. Jumping down to the first platform he took hold of the story tall ladder he began to pull. As he wrenched it left and right his power kicked in boosting his strength and before long the rusted bolts gave and slid out of their holes freeing the ladder. He climbed back up onto the roof and made his way to the edge of the buildings roof, ladder in hand.
As he approached the edge he held the ladder over his head jumped off the three story building. As he fell he first and foremost hoped the surprise would keep the criminals from firing at him. Second he threw the ladder down, catching it at the end. As it landed the metal bent slightly and pain went up the Ranger's body from his feet that were planted on the top step to his neck. Leaning forward he forced the ladder to fall forward and as it came near the ground he drew out the S&W 500 and fired another round before jumping off the ladder and rolling onto the ground behind a civilian car blocking the criminal's view of him.

Head behind the trunk of a Ford Focus Sam was close to thirty feet from the trio of armed shooters that giving the police so much trouble. Off in the distance the sound of sirens could be heard. The sound of gunfire, screams, everything was drowned out by the sounds of a single shot. Just as the schoolhouse rock song started playing in his head Sam looked up from the trunk of the car to see a large bullet reveal a force field around the trio, made sense why it was so hard to hit them for a shoot out now.
Two known mutants, and the third were unknown. Watching as the bullet fell to the ground Sam ducked his head behind the car trunk as he thought about the best way to handle the situation. Force fields, slugs and an unknown possible mutant, debating what to do Sam peaked back over the trunk of the focus and blinked not believe what he was seeing, a man flying through the air on a ladder… Sam blinked once then twice, not entirely how to respond. A Gun aimed at the three mutants made it clear whose side he was on. Ladder falling gun pulled and as he unloaded a shot Sam winched as the boom was defining from the barrel.
Watching again as the bullet impacted the force field Sam couldn’t help be amazed to see the two wear each other away. The bullet flattening on the force field as the field its self dented sending another ripple through out the field, this time however the bullet found its way through the field though instead of continuing on it’s path it fell to the ground and bounced a few times.
Looking back for the unknown man Sam found no one, he must have been distracted the shot… sighing slightly as he ducked back behind the car trunk Sam decided on a battle plan at least one that could possibly tip him off on a weakness to the force field or even better the last amigo’s mutation if he has one. Seeing as the slug wouldn’t do much good on his idea.
Placing his hand on the ground and focusing on a location two car lengths ahead of himself and closer to the trio, Sam breathed in then out as he called upon his element to help him with this particular situation. Slowly but surely six pair of frozen feet started to form on the ground as the ice quickly built its way upwards to from the rest of the body. The ice minions were ready and raring to go all he needed to do was give the mental command to send them off.
As the first bullet hit the ice minions Sam sent them off all ready to charge their icy hands outstretched with icy talons ready for their prospective prey. Another shot bounced off them as a slug went through one with out so much as a stop, the acid ate right through the ice and once the slug was out Sam grinned slightly waiting for the thirds move.
