The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

((OOC: Open for anyone who has (or can at least make up XD) a reason to be in a dojo!! ^^))
As much as Sue found the rain a general calming presence, she couldn’t stand moving around in soggy pants and the torrential rain was very quickly beginning waterlog her whole body. Sue had been on her way home from working the morning at her parent’s restaurant when the sky practically unraveled with rain.
“I should have been expecting this,” she muttered to herself as she increased her pace, holding her satchel over her head in a futile attempt to keep herself dry. “It’s been overcast for several days. Of course it would rain on the day I decide to walk home.”
Lighting flashed in the sky and though Sue didn’t think it was possible, the rain increased. Sue muttered a curse and quickly glanced around for a place to take shelter from the torrent. Spotting a close building with a bit of an overhang, Sue changed her direction. She ducked under the curtain of water that spilled from the curvature of the establishment’s façade and into the dry air underneath.
It was too late for her clothes however.
Sue whined once she realized how wet she was and began a fruitless effort to wring out her clothes while still wearing them. She was sopping wet and her long brown hair clung to her head and face and she was certain her make up (what little she had bothered to put on that morning) was ruined. She sighed in wet resignment and leaned against the glass window that made up the building’s front to wait out the storm. It was then that the ornate writing on the building’s door caught her attention.
“Flying Dragon Dojo?” she wondered aloud. How had she never seen this place before?
"Oh Mapquest, how useful you are" David said to himself as he saw the dojo up ahead. He casually strolled down the street, and umbrella protecting him from the rain. On his shoulder was his backpack, it was his first time going to a place like this, and he wasn't sure what he should bring. A change of clothes, water bottle, a towel, even something to eat. He supposed he could have just trained in the danger room, he had been doing it before, but he felt like heading out. Plus he didn't feel like everyone else knowing that he was training to fight.
So he ended up here, from what he gathered this place was a great place to train, he was able to use his power to download the actual act of it, but that was completely different then doing it, one needed actual physical training in order to know how to fight.
He walked under the protective awning of the building and peeked into the window, some people were already inside training, and they were good. David started to feel a bit nervous, in his mind he knew their was no reason to be, I mean surely these people have seen beginners, hell they had to start somewhere, but still the thought of him trying to train alongside them was uncomfortable. He started to turn and almost ran into another woman waiting outside. "Oh I'm sorry miss." He said. She looked soak and wet "Too bad I didn't get here earlier, I could have given you my umbrella."
Inside the Dojo Ranger walks out of a changing room wearing his black judogi. Today was is first day at this particular dojo, but in no way his first time in one. He had come to perhaps spar some of the patrons as well as learn some new moves. Yet, if they offer training in a form of martial arts he is altogether unfamiliar with than taking it up may be an acceptable course of action.
Walking across the dojo he watches the students here as they train, most of the moves he has seen before but a few he is not as familiar with or has never seen before. He notes a person who used an incredible looking submission as someone he will have to speak to when he has the chance, at the moment the man is still sparing and he is looking for the man he talked to when he firs arrived.
The man he talked to was curious as to his training in the Army Rangers and wanted to see what he knew and could do with his kick-boxing/Brazilian jujitsu style.

Sue was so absorbed in analyzing the building that was the Flying Dragon Dojo that she almost didn’t notice the young man approaching her position until he was practically standing on her. Only experience kept her from being run into. She stepped back, leaning against the Dojo’s door, and held up her gloved hands before her in a instinctive protective poster learned from many years of dealing with—or, rather, not wanting to deal with—her power.
To anyone else, her jumpy, hands-up position might have appeared to be a extreme over reaction, but Sue had learned not to care.
“Watch it!” she yelped, but he noticed her in time.
"Oh I'm sorry miss." He said. She looked soak and wet "Too bad I didn't get here earlier, I could have given you my umbrella."
She relaxed at his seemingly genuine offer. He looked nervous rather non-threaten.
“Eh, ah, its ok! I, Ah, don’t mind the rain.” She responded with an awkward grin. She was still getting reacquainted with the in’s and out’s of social interaction, and it had been awhile since she’d talked to someone she didn’t know.
“The rain, it, you know…it’s good for you…!” She winced as the comment left her mouth. ‘Ooh, yeah,' she thought to herself, 'That was nice, Sue. ‘Its good for you!’ What’s that even supposed to mean??’Not wanting to seem 100 percent stupid, she tried to shift the conversation.
“Ah, so, do you train here?” she asked. “I go by here every day and somehow I’ve never noticed it before. Its weird to me, ‘cause like, its something I think I would have taken the time to notice.”
David smiled and gave a chuckle at her comment about the health benefits of rain "I never knew that." He said jokingly. He looked through the mirror and shook his head "Oh no, I don't train here," He said looking the building up and down, "In fact, this is my first time here." He said turning back to face her. "Oh I'm David by the way." he said.
"So how about you? Do you train here." He said over the pounding rain. He slid his backpack off of his shoulder and placed it by his feet. He was starting to have second thoughts about training now, simply admitting he had never even been to this place felt awkward.
The Ranger continued to look around but could not seem to find the guy, perhaps he was in the back. Ranger took the time to continue observing everyone inside for a while before he decided to use one of the punching bags. If he was not able to spar with the man at this time he could at least warm up. Approaching the punching bag he stretched his arms, it would be embarrassing to pull a muscle in here because he didn't.
When he was done stretching he raised his fists and made a few quick left jabs. He then followed that with a right hook. Then he got a little more into it, a few left jabs, a right straight and then a roundhouse kick as it came swinging back. He continued for a little while throwing out different combinations of hits until his power began to function. I don't want it now... As a he threw a right straight his torso increased in size and his fist went right through the punching bag.
Many people in the dojo turned and stared at him as he pulled pulled his arm from the punching bag, he concentrated hard to force his power to recede slowly and not cause an alarm at a sudden muscle loss.
"I guess I don't know my own strength, also I can pay for that."
He walked away from the punching bag and stood near the exit, waiting for the man he met to show up or someone else to ask him to spar. At that point he heard some people outside speaking, he opened the door and looked outside.
"Howdy there..." He trailed off as he noticed the male, it looked like the man from the bank that time.
((OOC: For continuity I am assuming this should be post bank thread chronologically))

Sue couldn’t help but pick up on David’s nervous postures. From the way he held himself he didn’t appear to be a martial artist which meant he was either very good at hiding his talents, or he just didn’t have any. She was betting it was the latter.
‘He’s gotta be a newbie,’ she thought to herself, watching him sympathetically, ‘Poor thing’s more tense than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.’
“Nice to meet you David! I’m Sue,” She said, giving him her friendliest smile but not offering her hand. “No, I don’t train here. There’s a place closer to my house where I usually go. I’ve never actually even seen this place before now.”
She glanced at the building again and assumed a very relaxed posture, leaning on one of the glass panes that made up the front window, in attempt to put him at ease.
“Sooo, I’m getting the vibe that this is your first time to ever set foot in a dojo, right? Don’t worry about feeling like you don’t know anything. We all have to start some where!” She shrugged like it was no big deal, which it wasn’t to her. “Its good that you’re picking up an art, right? So don’t let anyone scare you away! If they turn out to be jerks here, you come to the International Martial Arts Center. We’ll treat you right there!”
Sue never passed up the opportunity to encourage a person to learn a martial art. It didn’t even bother her that half the people she convinced ended up choosing an art form different than her own. She just thought it was wonderful that she could share an activity she loved with other people.
“So what are you thinking about learning?”
((OOC: I'm going to let David respond to Ranger. I'm not sure what I should say. Let's pretend that Ranger opened the door after this? ^__^))
This place must have a hard time getting business, considering the two of them had never even seen it. "Nice to meet you to." He said returning her smile. She seemed pretty at ease with everything, probably used to training anyway, she did say she has a place closer to her home.
"Yeah, not quite sure how one goes about this." He said, surprised she was able to guess his newness, "Was it that easy to tell?" Despite her support he stil ldidn't want to look like a total newb. Though he supposed he would have to, at least for now. "Thank you." When she asked what he was training he was acaught a little off guard. He knew their were numerous forms of martial arts, that part didn't surprise him, it was just that he never thought about it. All he did was download a bunch of types, not paying much attention to specializing in a certain one.
He didn't really want to tell her the truth though, scaring off a cute girl by telling her he was a mutant who spends his time hanging out with other mutants did not seem like a good idea. "Oh, I uhmm, wasn't quite sure exactly." He said, realizing he just added to his newish appearance. The discussion was cut short though as someone poked their head out the door, someone whom David recognized.
David quickly turned back to Sue, worried that the man might recognize David. "Well hey why don't we head down to your dojo now." He said, his voice showing the rising nervousness. "you've got to be kidding, out of all the places and all the people why does it have to be that guy?" He thought to himself.
Well this is interesting, running into that guy again. Yet, he is lucky I won't do anything in public like this, especially with a lady present.
"Oh well why head off to another when this one is right here," He states following David's comment about going to another before turning to the woman he was with, "Howdy there, my name is Michael Hunter." He held out his had for a handshake as is customary upon meeting someone but realized his hand was covered in sand from the punching bag and pulled it back.
He then raised one hand to rub the side of his nose with his index finger, effectively blocking Sue's view of his mouth. Then he mouthed a message to David, 'If I try anything here I'll look the criminal so don't worry' following which he lowered his hand. "Why don't yall come on in, it's raining outside after all." He walked outside holding the door open with his left hand and motioning for them to enter with his right.
