(OOC: Continued from: Chili Dogs

IC: "Ya said yer name was Meld not Aris." Meld laughed weakly. "Blame it on my wounds." She was laughing, that meant she must have been feeling better, right? It couldn't be a bad sign could it? Taking stalk of her situation she could at least say that her head wasn't spinning quite so much and she didn't seem to be getting any weaker. Looking down briefly, it appeared that the blood flow had stopped and that was definitely a good thing. Whether her wounds were more serious, beyond just the blood loss, was impossible for her to tell.

After what seemed like a small eternity Meld finally spotted the gates of her so recent home. Sanctuary. Safety. Rest. She sighed in relief, hoping that what Aura had told her about the place was true, that any mutant could come here seeking refuge. Oh well, if it wasn't true it was too late to turn back now anyway. If it came down to it she'd try to convince those in charge that her two companions should be able to stay, at least for a little while. They had probably saved her life, after all. But she didn't think that it would come to that.

Meld stood leaning on Zahira's arm as Flynn opened the large golden doors. Walking inside she made an attempt to stand by her own power, not wanting to appear weak to the others residing in the building. She hated appearing weak more than anything else, save perhaps human discrimination of mutants. She teetered perilously on her feet and put her hand up to the wall. There, that was better. All she needed was a little support to remain standing.

Twenty Minutes Ago


Detective Cassandra Elliot paced the street while The dogs were taken up the parking garage. She couldn't stop that tactic Lieutenant Dan wouldn't let it go. These people were heroes, she thought to herself., and Daniel was chasing them like escaped inmates from death row. The burglary they had stopped saved 2.3 million dollars worth of diamonds and high quality gems from hitting the black market and financing the plots of the terrorist organization he was a part of. That had to account for something. Dan was chasing these people for killing and maiming two terrorists. No...scratch that, he was chasing them because they were mutants. Dan thought that mutants were like dogs, that needed to be put down.

She brushed a stray blond hair away from her sunglasses. It was then that she noticed the drop of blood right in front of the stairs to the subway. Her keen eye followed the blood drops all the way across the street and to the doorway of the parking garage. She turned around and ran down the flight of stairs to get to the subway landing, hopped the turnstile nd ran toward the landing Cassie got there just in time to see the three of them stagger onto the last car. Four quick strides would get her into the car in front of them.. Four strides and what...she could take them, she could thank them, she could...help them more by letting them go.

Five minutes and another train had come and gone. Lieutenant Dan and his crack team had finally made their way thru the parking garage and worked out where the 'perps' had gone. They came up on Detective Elliot, her gun drawn, pointing down the opposite rail. "I think I saw three figures running down that way after the last train left," Cassie said. "We should get the trains stopped and the third rail cut off if we want to follow them." She knew that would buy them a good fifteen minutes more at least.

Now

Flynn opened the door as Meld instructed him to. Inside, they came into a foyer, fairly non-descript. He supposed he had thought it would be more, well... fancy. He winced thru another sortie of pain. He saw some stars this time. He went to the first little two seater, sofa slash chair and sat down. When the receptionist or whatever she was came up to talk to them, he tuned out a little, figuring Meld would handle things. He placed his head up against the wall behind him and looked upward, gritting his teeth against the pain.

He enjoyed the architecture of the ceiling, the classic lines and the molding around the corners especially. The classic eggshell white color of the ceiling was offset rather well by the dark chestnut colored wood molding..It was at about this point that Flynn closed his eyes, not passing out but seeking the inner self that would allow him to ride out the pain and center himself. It was anti-torture training he called upon now.

His thoughts went to a vision of himself, painting the ceiling, laying back on a scaffold like Michelangelo, His strokes slow and steady, his breathing going in and out at a even pace. He felt himself calm down and the pain recede a little. He wasn't really aware of his surroundings but if someone called out his name or jostled him, he would certainly reacquire his surroundings. Unbeknown to him though, his calming meditations caused his mutation to kick in, rendering him invisible and silent.

Zahira's guard had shot up. Her lips twisting into a tight lipped frown. She had let Meld do whatever she wanted and she fidgeted with her gloves and her hoodie and cloak. Her eyes darted around the room not leaving any one spot double checked. The female didn't trust this place. Call it sixth sense or whatever you want to call it. She was running on pure paranoia at the moment.

Zahira was staying near the door, letting her eyes still dart around the room. She was forcing her breathing to remain calm despite the panic and paranoia she was feeling. Her hands were clenching and unclenching as she kept fidgeting with her gloves the small bloody and bleeding holes in the girl's hoodie and jeans, which she was thankful these people? Yes people cause they weren't friends in her eyes, just acquaintances in her mind. She was thankful for what these two people had done for her, and she was still trying to figure out why the hell the did it!

It hit her that she hadn't seen Flynn. "Flynn don't turn invisible or else I'm going to have to kick ya when ya turn back visible." She said the words like talking to thin air, well he had turned invisible. The 17 year old rolled her eyes as she waited. She was bored literally bored, panicky, agitated, annoyed, in a bit of pain, and to top it all off she was scared. She hated not knowing what was going on or what would happen to herself or her acquaintances, in this place. And with all those emotions came the bad habit, which had kept her sane most of her life when it came to killing people.

Zahira let out a quiet almost insane sounding laugh. "What's going to happen to us?" She whispered quietly to herself. She immediately responded to herself, shrugging her shoulders and muttering. "Don't know...". Zahira gave a low almost cat-like hiss. "Well I swear if they try anything. I'm not going to hold back..." She whispered to herself. She nodded to herself. "Good idea.... cause if they do try anything .... they'll end up dead..." The 17 year old chuckled quietly darkly, insanely to herself. OK now one could consider the 17 year old insane, if talking to yourself didn't count.

Isabel had been on her way to the Library when her phone had buzzed in her pocket, signaling that she'd received a message. She was still struggling a bit when it came to figuring out her new phone, her old one having been lost in a traumatic little event involving a Giant and a leprechaun. Once she'd managed to pull the message up onto the screen, she changed course and headed toward the Foyer. Her visit to the Library could wait. She'd only been heading up there for a little quiet space to think in, anyhow. Apparently there was a small group of individuals that had entered and the Secretary thought it would be best if someone welcomed them in. Isabel was just thankful she hadn't called her over the loudspeaker again. If only she could get the woman to stop using her last name, even in something as simple as a text message.

It was highly unusual to see Lisa away from her desk. Isabel wasn't sure if she'd ever seen the desk vacant of its owner, despite the fact that there were claims the Secretary had a life outside the Sanctuary. She also wondered how much paperwork the building could possibly have for the woman to work on, especially since Seizure was now sharing that load. She was just thankful she hadn't been reeled into it as well. However, instead of her usual spot, they young blond woman had positioned herself close to the individuals that had let themselves in. A smile and small nod of greeting were given to Lisa as Isabel approached, the secretary seeming to think it satisfactory and moving off toward her desk once more. It was likely she was going to be pulling out residential forms and working on some sort of report, though the ribboned mutant wasn't interested enough to find out.

It wasn't hard to spot the pair of girls that had entered, each looking a little worse for wear. Isabel paused in her approach to take in the ragged appearances, blinking in surprise at the unexpected sight. There weren't many injured mutants wandering through their doors with any kind of regularity. Aside form those in the Order, that is. Most of the time it was a more timid crowd looking for a place to stay, hardly any of them bleeding on anything when they entered. One did look like she was ready to run at the drop of a hat, though. That wasn't entirely uncommon. A lot of mutant looking for a safe haven were used to running. Not many of them could fully grasp the concept of safety.

She continued to smile as she approached, careful to stop a short distance away to give them enough space, particularly the one still near the door. "Welcome to the Sanctuary. I'm Isabel, one of the residents here," she greeted, using the line mainly as a way to reaffirm her presence and try to avoid startling them. Though it didn't hurt to be welcoming, either. They wanted people to come to the Sanctuary, and that wouldn't be achieved if a welcome feeling wasn't present. "You'll have to forgive me for saying so, but you two don't look so well. Did you get into a little trouble on your way here?" she questioned, curious about how they got so banged up, her attention shifting to bandages and blood stains. "We've got a full medical staff on hand if you'd like to go to the Infirmary. There's some very good mutants with healing abilities there that can fix you up good as new. And so long as you're here, you'll be safe from whatever trouble you're in. We don't take our name lightly. You'll be well looked after around here."

Meld nodded her head in greeting at the bowed woman that came down to greet them, pleased that the world only continued moving for a moment before settling back into place like it belonged. Although she'd seen other mutants around Sanctuary since coming here a few days prior, this was the first she had actually spoken to other than Aura. She wished she were in a better state for this conversation, wished that she could at least hold herself upright without leaning on the wall for support. But one didn't always get what one wished for, did they? Life just didn't work that way.

"I'm Meld and this is Zahira and..." she looked around for Flynn but couldn't spot him then remembered that Zahira had only a moment ago told him to become visible again. Her mind struggled to remain coherent. "And Flynn is around as well." She tried to keep her voice steady and her string of words connected to one another in proper fashion. It was more of a struggle than it should have been. "I've been living here for a few days, Aura brought me here." It was ok to mention that right? She didn't think her friend would mind. "We ran into some drama...fought off a crazy mutant thief, got shot at and then chased here by the police. We didn't do anything wrong and this was the only place I knew of that could offer us some safety..."

Meld's voice trailed off, the mental fog once again trying to claim her mind. She shook her head trying to clear it. All she wanted to do was lie down and sleep, the effort of keeping everything together was seeming less and less worth it. "...good mutants with healing abilities..." Meld blinked. Yes. Healing. That's what she needed. She needed healing. That was her final thought before collapsing to the floor, unconsciousness finally winning the battle.

"Flynn don't turn invisible or else I'm going to have to kick ya when ya turn back visible." Flynn started coming back. His pain was a bit more manageable. Zahira's voice...calling out his name...was she in trouble? He opened his eyes to the sight of a young girl with long brown hair held up by greenish ribbons walk up to Aris and Zahira. She seemed like she was about Zahira's age. There was the secretary at the desk. She spoke some words Flynn couldn't quite make out and Meld spoke back to her, looking about for a second. That was when Flynn realized he was invisible.

A moment later Aris was falling to the floor in a heap. His own injuries aside, he jumped up to get to her, aggravating the cracked ribs. Letting out a soundless scream of agony that took him off his feet and down to his knees, his concentration broke and he reappeared in a staticy looking jumble. Now his moan of agony could easily be heard and all eyes turned to look at him. He swayed as, arms clutching the rib area, he got back to his feet. "Aris' are you OK? Stay with us. We've come too far for you to die now that we're safe."

He looked at the girl whose name he didn't know. "Can you help her. she has four bullet wounds in her." He noticed the blood beginning to pool around her. His thoughts ran to the first aid kit, nearly empty sitting on the little sofa thing he had recently reclined upon. There weren't enough bandages. Something vital must have been nicked.

"She's bleeding out, her wounds have reopened. Please find us a doctor." He remembered something of import, "And I'm a universal donor, if she needs a transfusion." Adrenaline had kicked in again, making his pain a distant memory. He looked to Zahira and saw a few small spots of blood and holes in her hoody he hadn't noticed before. Lord how many layers of clothing did she wear? "You're hurt too Zahira. We need to all get checked out. Look, Aris said she lived here, We got nowhere else to go and could be the cops are on their way. I'm sorry we've brought this down on you all. Just help my friends and if it comes to it, I'll take the fall for them. If I hadn't been noticed using my power in the first place none of this would have ever happened."

It was at his time that the orderlings came out with the stretcher. It appeared that Lisa had not gone back to her desk to prepare paperwork or the like. She had called for a medical team from the Infirmary. They rolled up and got around Meld. Taking her in their arms, they hoisted her onto the stretcher. "We're taking her to the infirmary Miss Isabel." With not another word, they both started off that way.

Zahira's head snapped back toward attention as people entered the room. Her mind was forced to work again, and not be in the normal spaced out fog it had been when talking to herself. Her eyes narrowed in anger, suspicion and fear as the woman entered the room. She stepped back toward the door even further, her back pressed harshly up against the wood of one of the doors, as if she was trying to blend in... either that or she'd bolt out the door as quickly as she could, which would probably end up handing herself to the cops if they had a trap set up, and it would catch the the mutant that had caused the murder with one the people who had attacked them at the park. Although the female hadn't moved from her spot, whispering her quick and panicked responses to herself and talking back to herself.

Zahira let out a low hiss of distrust as her gaze became guarded and her body tensed up to point of were it had caused some of her joints to lock up into place, which had caused a small bit of pain to run up to her brain, which didn't make Zahira twitch an eyelash. She locked her eyes on the three people that had entered the room.

She had watched barely hearing anything as Meld fell and Flynn rushing toward her only to get up to his feet again, and then as the two people that had left with Meld on a stretcher. Her eyes shifted toward the two, barely catching what Flynn had said.

At the sound of Flynn's voice, the female snapped her head toward him. Her eyes wide with distrust and fear. It was almost like she wasn't see him, but someone entirely different. "Your hurt too Zahira. We need to all get checked out."

Zahira glared at him. Her eyes had switched from the guarded look to one of utter distrust. "Yer point being!?" She found herself snapping due to her insecurity. "Ya two need it more then meh!" She snapped again, her voice filled with panic. "I will NOT let them touch me!" Zahira snapped, and then muttered to herself. "I will kill them if they dare touch me!" She muttered. Before she snapped again. I don't need anything from these people or ya! I can take care of my own blasted wounds! I can't even feel the damned things!" She growled out the words before giving herself a few moments to catch her breath.

She listened momentarily to his voice. "Damn it, Flynn stop being the bloody hero and taking the blame fa what happened! Damn it yer no hero here! Its not yer damn fault! So stop it right now! Before I kill ya myself!" Zahira hissed out lowly, trying hard to calm herself down, and force her body to relax. It didn't work, all it did was cause her body to shake unwillingly. She was flexing her shaking hands trying to make it seem like she meant it, while she was trying to control her shaking. Zahira was ignoring the pain in her head as she kept her paranoid gaze darting around the room. She had kept her back pressed against the wood despite her shaking body. She couldn't really tell what it was from, if it was cause of her fear, her wounds or her anger or her paranoia. Or maybe it was all four of them blending into one? She honestly didn't' know, or care at the moment, all she wanted right now, was to bolt and run far away from this place. Even thought it would probably be a stupid decision in the end.

Isabel listened patiently as one of the young women spoke and explained their situation as well as offering names. The one labeled Flynn was nowhere in sight, the lack of a body seeming to also confuse the girl named Meld for a moment. Had he wandered off somewhere to look for some help? She'd need to have Lisa send out the message to have people keep an eye out for him. She'd have to get a description, as no one could pinpoint a person by name alone, especially if it was a codename of some sort. Perhaps the Secretary had seen him enter and could more effectively get the message out than Isabel could.

"If it's cops after you it isn't likely they'll come in here. Most of them are spooked about this place so they give us a wide berth space. There's a few nasty rumors going around that some of the mutants here don't play nice with humans," she replied, a slightly mischievous element entering her smile as the words evoked brief flashes of memories of her own fun with non-mutants, a few of them fairly recent. "And we don't usually ask questions about who is at fault. In here you're safe either way, so there's no need to worry. We don't turn people away because of a shady past." Many of the residents living at the Sanctuary had a less than pristine history. Most of the time it just went hand in hand with being a mutant. Besides, those with histories of unfriendly human interaction tended to be more easily brought over to the Order's way of thinking, and Isabel simply loved expanding her little family.

Half a step was taken forward as Meld collapsed, Isabel's eyes quickly flickering over to the young woman positioned at the door. It was unwise to get too close too quickly around such a flighty individual. It wasn't hard to make out a few injuries on the girl, and the last thing Isabel wanted was to scare her off without at least giving the Infirmary staff a chance to look her over. With the exception of the X-Nerds, she didn't like seeing other mutants hurting. The half step was quickly reversed with the addition of perhaps another half as a third body suddenly faded into view, his position also being on the floor. That must have been Flynn. It seemed as if she wouldn't have to have a few people out searching for him. He was just a mutant that had the power of invisibility. She simply blinked down at him for a moment as he pleaded with his companion and then moved on to ask for Isabel's help. They must have been in some fight for them all to have been injured. That mutant they ran into certainly meant business, though for the most part they looked as if they'd pull through, especially with the help of the Sanctuary staff.

"Alright, alright. Just relax," Isabel spoke, commenting on the gush of words that flooded from the young man. "There's no need for blood transfusion, we have mutants that can repair and replicate blood cells if it's necessary. And it's really not a problem to have you all here. That's what the Sanctuary's for. You don't have to take any kind of fall. You aren't going to get arrested while we have any say in it." With the appearance of the stretcher from the Infirmary, Isabel turned to look back at Lisa, the Receptionist's gaze lingering only long enough to ensure that the medical team was doing their job before going back to her work. She must have buzzed them down while the rest of them were distracted with the unconscious girl. She'd have to thank the older woman later on.

Turning to look at the girl who seemed to be trying to mesh with the door, Isabel again blinked silently as Zahira shouted at Flynn about caring for herself, a few threats to the staff thrown in as well. She'd seen a few explosively violent mutants pass through the Sanctuary before, though she couldn't say if any of them were wounded when they arrived. "I think we've got one or two healers that don't need direct contact to do their work," she offered, trying to find a reasonable solution to the girl, Zahira's, objection to anyone touching her. "We're not going to keep you here against your will or anything like that. You're free to leave whenever you want. You can come back whenever, too. I'm just trying to help you out. It'd be easier to just let the medical staff take care of those injures and then release you. It really won't take all that long, and it'll be worth it. You don't want them getting infected or anything."

Slowly she moved over to where the young man had dropped and then stood, trying not to cause the girl to bolt in response to the movement. It was easy to tell that Flynn had injured his side somehow, though she couldn't make out if there was any blood dripping from any particular area. With a small smile she offered her hand to him, willing to help him to the Infirmary if he allowed her to. She wasn't at all opposed to assisting her fellow mutants when they needed it. She was durable and could take a fair amount of weight if need be. From the sounds he'd issued earlier he was in a good amount of pain and some assistance may get him to the medical area a little more quickly with less strain on his body. Whether or not he accepted, she'd be following after the pair of medics with the stretcher to oversee the healing process and make sure the trio were well taken care of. "You can follow after us if you want," she said, turning to look back at Zahira. "You're not obligated to do anything, but I'd feel better if you let us help."

He took the arm offered him. "Thank You," Chris said as he stood up, favoring his side. "I think I cracked or broke a rib or two." He listened to Isabel speak to Zahira. He hoped he could the girl to come along as well. "You heard her Zahira, no one's going to touch you i you don't want them to here. You're safe. Every thing's going to be fine. We both need to keep Aris company and make sure she gets healed up. Please come with me to the infirmary. Can you help me get down there?"

Flynn looked to Isabel with a slight incline of his head and winked at her. The angle of his head not allowing Zahira to see him do so. He leaned against a column in back of him as he motioned to Isabel." He didn't want to also mention that something put him off in regards to Isabel. Nothing he could really place his finger on. The woman had been nothing but helpful, but his gut had saved his life before, and he couldn't totally disregard it now and stay true to himself. But he wasn't going to act untoward to this woman that had done him no wrong,, only offering to help him get himself and his allies healed up.

"Now let's go and get ourselves fixed up.You and me can keep an eye out for each other. I don't know if I can do this alone." Flynn hated having to manipulate Zahira this way but he didn't want her just running off. Not only was he hurt, but he really wanted her to be there and watch his back. He hadn't known this girl long but he trusted her more than an organization like this. 'There's no such thing as a free lunch,' Flynn thought to himself.

Zahira's odd colored eyes were narrowed into slits of pure distrust and the same guarded look to them as before. She had clammed up, and didn't say a single word despite the fact that she wanted to. The girl went to bitting the hell out of her tongue to fight the urge to yell, scream and bolt like a bat from hell.

Zahira's guarded expression remained. "I'd still take care of them mehself... I'd risk these dumb wounds getting infected." She muttered lowly as she forced her still locked up joints to move, slowly toward the two. Her face and the rest of her body if her body could be seen had paled to shades unnaturally paler then albino pale. Zahira barred her teeth, almost like she was going to attack, but she slinked after the two, keeping a fair distance, it was and unneeded distance but she didn't care. Zahira's keeping quiet hadn't lasted very long. "What do ya and yer team or whatever the hell ya call yerselves. What do ya get out of helping us? What's in it fa ya!" She found herself snapping again. OK, now she had stopped completely, not even half way from the door, her body tense, ready for an attack, ready for mainly anything that could and might happen.

Her eyes turned toward Flynn, a small look of trust flashed in her eyes before it vanished as quickly as it had came. She trusted him.... She was accurately trusting him.... God be with him, if he betrayed her.... she was going make him regret it! Unfortunately to Zahira.... She had been baited.... and she had been lured in... and she had fallen for the trap, like a cat to cream. She mumbled a few words to herself, debating with herself, before she followed him and the woman slowly. She hadn't dropped her guard, nor would her body not tense up. She would stay just like was and nothing was going to get her out of her 'locked in place' position.

Carefully Isabel did her best to help support Flynn's weight as he took her offered arm. She never did like standing idly by while others of her kind were injured. Even if she couldn't stop them from hurting, she liked to be able to lend a hand somehow. It just never sat right with her to sit back and leave them on their own. "Broken bones are nothing. The doctors can have those patched up in no time," she commented, continuing to move off after the two with the stretcher. She only slowed as the young man addressed his still conscious companion. She didn't miss the wink that was sent in her direction, her own head turning so she could cast a backward glance at the girl by the door, pleased to see she was no longer pressed against the golden surface. She let him slip from her rip as he attempted to coax the girl into following along. She moved a short ways ahead, trying to make Zahira feel a little more secure about approaching her companion.

"Well, you don't have to let them help if you really don't want them to. I just think it'd be more convenient for you if those injuries were fixed up," she commented, continuing on down the hall and turning to keep an eye on the stretcher and its passenger. It didn't take long to get the the Infirmary, the medics quickly going to work to move the young woman from the stretcher to a bed. The medical area was just as luxurious and well accommodating as the rest of the building. Those that ran the Sanctuary made sure they were up to date on all their medical equipment and that even those that were visiting or waiting to see one of the doctors were comfortable.

Isabel moved off to the side in order to stay out of the way as the healers went to work making sure the young woman was on the bed properly and hooking up an IV to keep her hydrated. Even with their wounds healed, the medical staff liked to keep their patients for at least a short time for monitoring. It wouldn't do them much good to heal an injury and then release their patient, just to have them suffer from dehydration or some other condition that could have been treated.

Once again turning back to the girl that trailed behind them, Isabel quirked a brow at her suspicious questions, as if not quite understanding her train of thought. "We're not asking for anything for helping you out," she replied, continuing to regard the young woman in an almost confused manner. She had grown so used to the Sanctuary simply providing for her, it was sometimes difficult to remember that not everyone was used to such a lifestyle and therefore would be expecting some sort of attached strings. "You guys are mutants. We're a mutant safe house. This is what we're here for. It kind of defeats the purpose if we're looking for handout from the people we're trying to help," she continued, leaning a shoulder up against the wall and crossing her arms, making herself comfortable without taking a seat. "Honestly, you don't have to worry about any kind of underhanded stuff around here. Or any kind of debt you'd owe. We just help because we can and we want to."

Flynn let the medics check him out in the infirmary. He pulled off his shirt and the bruising and swelling of the cracked ribs was evident. He let them run a series of X-rays and make sure he had no internal bleeding. There was the possibility that he could have punctured a lung; but that was ruled out quickly. It took about fifteen minutes to get himself a good bill of health. The pain meds kicked in rater quickly.

Chris looked over to check on Aris. Her wounds were fairly substantial. They got her stabilized rather quickly though. He wondered if he would see any of these mutant healers Isabel had mentioned. He grabbed up a thing of antiseptic and some bandages off the table and walked over to Zahira. "I see there's a bathroom over there. I will be happy to guard the door for you if you are still adamant about having anyone handle them but you."

He was beginning to feel better from the meds and he looked round. Some of these things he had seen in field hospitals, types of blood coagulator, laser scalpels, There was even a cutting edge defibrillator over on a stand. Some of the things surprised hi, figurer that they wouldn't be found on a medical market in the states, since some of it wasn't FDA approved. He didn't mind though, most things trickle down from military apps to the common person as it was. He was a bit curious as to how they had acquired it all though. He wasn't going to ask though. Seeing as how hospitable these people here were being, It wouldn't be right to question them on such a small thing.

"Thank you for helping us. Aris told us she was a resident here, but neither I nor Zahira are. I understand that you help mutants. I find such a philanthropic endeavor spirit lifting.. How is Aris, Doctor? Will she be all right?" Flynn was wondering about Aris. As their contact within this group, She was the one who would liaison with them he figured, when she was well. He didn't want to get treated and just run off. Especially without Zahira., as that girl needed some serious help. She definitely had some trust issues.And considering her power, well warranted. He would bet odds on that her family probably laid i a grave somewhere, having died of mysterious causes. Probably thru no fault of her own, poor child.

Zahira suddenly stopped at the doorway of the hospital wing. A look of sheer horror spread across the teenager's face. Then again she had never actuarially been in a hospital before.... well besides when she was a baby, but she couldn't remember that far back. She doubted anyone could, even some of her accidental killings as a child were blocked from her memory. Sealed away? Maybe. Her body shook as her wide dilating eyes darting around the blurring room of 'evil' equipment, that she had only seen once or twice in outdated horror films(Cause they were cheap), in a panicked frenzy of sudden fear that came rapidly back to the female. Her breathing stopped as she froze up. Her heartbeat quickened as everything around her seemed to go in slow motion and all sound stopped.

Zahira didn't respond, but at the sound of the female's voice and Flynn's voice it caused her to jump. She hurriedly reply, a lace of panic and fear was in her voice as clear as a bell. "....N-n....n-n...... No! I don't' n-need h-help... I-I c-can take care of mehself!" She said quickly, trying to hide her panic, but with her stuttering and shuttering and the quick replay's she wasn't being very convincing. She had been so afraid, so socked and scared that she had only heard, that this place was a safe place for mutants. She didn't believe that.... No place for her could ever be safe! At least that's what she thought. "I-I d-d-don't need y-yer h-h-e-help!...." She hissed though her stuttering and fear.

Zahira hadn't even noticed Flynn until he spoke, which caused the teen to let out a surprised and if not scared yelp as she stumbled back wards and away from him, her back hitting the wall, which caused her to her hands around her wrists, as the fleeing movements and instincts had caused her wounds to reopen if they weren't even closed, the blood was showing up easily though her hoodie and cloak. The teen quickly swiped the things out of Flynn's hands, her own gloved hands shaking like a leaf. She shook her head rapidly to clear it. She gave him a slightly relieved look, but she wasn't about to calm down too easily.

She hadn't even heard what Flynn said next, she was tuning everything out unwillingly. She couldn't remain focused, the blood loss was finally starting to kick in, and with that, more fear was entering the girl's already panicked system. All her mind was doing was working on overdrive trying to figure a way out of this place.... away from the machines of doom... Hell she wasn't even sure she was seeing them right now, maybe it was the blood loss that was causing her to act like this? She clearly couldn't tell what was going on around her, she felt like she was surrounded in fog, or at least her mind was.

Zahira had taken up muttering to herself, voicing her dislike and distrust and some other things as she spoke to herself, debating with herself in harsh, soft quiet whispers as the fog in her mind thickened, as she looked down at her shooed feet, she felt blood running down her leg from her leg wound although she paid it little mind and kept her feet firmly planted on the ground, as she she looked at them, but it was pretty clear she only seeing shadowy figures of them, sort of how one's mind fogs over and their eyes turn dull. The female kept muttering to herself, as she stayed against the wall, still debating whether to bolt.... and whether to let them help her or not. She doubted shed' let them though.

At first there was nothing. No light, no sound, no sensation, nothing. There was awareness of herself, a kind of vague sense of being alive and existing, but the world outside did not yet exist. Then, slowly, there was sound. At first she couldn't make out what the sound was until it gradually formed itself into voices. Yes, there were voices out there, voices that were separate from herself. And what were they saying? Meld concentrated hard on the voices, trying to make sense of them. "You guys are mutants. We're a mutant safe house." Yes, she could understand the voices. They were speaking a language she could understand. But she didn't think she knew that voice, did she? "Thank you for helping us. Aris told us she was a resident here.. That voice she recognized. She was sure of it. And she was Aris, wasn't she? Yes, that sounded right. So he must be...Flynn...Gradually other sounds started to become clearer as well. The sounds of machines, beeping, a third voice. Gradually the full conversation began to become clear and Meld started to remember exactly what had happened to bring her here and where "here" was exactly. She was in Sanctuary. She was safe. The toy controlling mutant had shot and almost killed her. What about the others? Were the ok?

Slowly Meld opened her eyes, blinking into the light. She opened her mouth to try to speak, failed, tried again and succeeded, though it came out rather hoarse. "Where am I?" Stupid question. She knew where she was. She was in Sanctuary, obviously. Looking around, she appeared to be in some sort of hospital, judging by the myriad of machines around her and the unknown people scurrying around who appeared to be nurses or doctors. She tried to pull herself into a sitting position and failed. Damn. Taking a closer look at her surroundings she was able to spot Flynn and Zahira and the bowed lady who had met them at the doors. Hers must have been the voice that she had first heard while regaining consciousness. "I'm sorry," she apologized, unable to remember to whom she was speaking. "This isn't normally how I am." Right. She didn't normally collapse two minutes after meeting someone new. She gave Zahira another concerned look. The woman was looking a little pale, not to mention a little panicked. Hopefully someone would help her; hopefully she would let someone help her.

"...isn't normally how I am." Yes. He'd heard Aris speak. She was awake again. "Zahira, Aris is awake, She's going to be all right. When you get done come and see her." He looked from Aris' direction back to Zahira. Her wounds were starting to tell on her. He wished she would take the offer of help but he wasn't going to push her. If she decided to hype up against something forced on her, she could kill with a touch. Definitely, not something one wanted to mess with. He walked over from her toward Aris, slowing down as he walked by Isabel. "You say there are mutants here that can heal from a distance. Maybe if you got one here, Zahira might allow such healing to be done on her."

Flynn wasn't going discuss Zahira's abilities out in the open. He felt it would be her choice to tell someone about what her abilities did. After another moment, Chris continued on and strode over to Aris' bedside."Hey Aris, Every thing's OK, We're in the infirmary. Zahira is her too, we're all OK. You got us here. Good job."

Chris got into her range of vision. He looked a sight. A few bruises on his shoulder and forearm. He had his glasses folded up, one arm of them inserted into the front pocket of his jeans. They were right under the bandages that wrapped the bottom of his torso up to his nipples, forming a brace for his ribs to help him keep them stable. The black Onyx eyes with the lightning flashing thru them were open widely, looking over Aris' multiple wounds.
