Robots? Did Aura just say robots? Aris shook her head, a look of bewilderment upon her face. "We get to spar with robots?" Her tone of voice conveyed an obvious sense of disbelief. Not that she didn't believe her new found friend, robots, however, were about the last thing she expected. Why had she never heard about robots that could do such things before? Surely this Sanctuary place couldn't be the only one with such technology, could it?
Aris looked upon the Sanctuary doors with a sense of anticipation. She stopped for a moment and took a deep breath before following Aura inside. This was what she had come to this city for. To find her own kind, to find acceptance and a place where she didn't have to try and hide who she was. Not that she particularly tried to hide that anyway, but it would be a pleasure to be among people who wouldn't judge her for it. Why so many small minded humans couldn't simply accept that her flesh melds made her better than them was beyond her. Hell, she'd be content if they'd at least view her as equal to them, false though that might be. But no. Instead she got fear, loathing and discrimination wherever she went. But now she would be among her own kind, where she belonged.
Aris was surprised and pleased about all the questions the other woman was asking her and couldn't help but grin at the offer to help in her self modifications. It reinforced her opinions that this was exactly where she should be.
"I don't feel pain," Aris answered honestly. "In fact I don't feel much of anything." She couldn't help the tinge of sadness in her voice. So many lost sensations. "Blood loss is an issue, however. I need to have my flesh melds created before I go through the melding process. Once made, the process itself only takes a few seconds. And yes, I did remove my eye, it wasn't nearly as bad as you might think. I haven't done more yet because of the time and cost to make my flesh melds. That, and this is the fourth version of my hand and the second of my feet. Physical perfection takes time. My other hand is next, if I ever find the money for supplies again and the space to work." She cringed at the thought of her current monetary situation. Hopefully she'd find work again soon.
Aris wasn't quite sure how to address the other woman's apparent confusion at the mention of being like a cyborg Frankenstein so she moved past it. Maybe she'd be able to find a book or something and give it to her new friend at a later date. "You couldn't be the least bit squeamish if you you were to help me," Aris said. She couldn't' deny that the offer of help was most welcome. Some melds would be difficult to achieve without a second set of hands. "But you're help would be most appreciated." She couldn't' help but grin. "Why have you learned to cut bones?" she asked, almost as an afterthought.
Aris looked around Sanctuary not quite sure where to start. "You mentioned I might have to sign some paperwork or something? Is that now or later? And do you recommend any particular rooms? What do I need to know about this place anyway?"
"Not feeling pain, that sounds like a nice up side" she said thinking about what the girl was saying, the process seemed facinateng to Aura. SO entralled about it she was that she completly missed the saddness in Aris's voice. She could Understand how the process could get expensive, it sounded like a lot of time, effort and money were spent on the process, which made Aura glad her power cost nothing, simply useing her life force to power it. The trouble with that was she could put to much energy into her feild and risk her life.
"I was tought by my former Master, she tought me how to make furnature from the bones of those who tried to kill us, Humans mostly. Most of the fernature in my room is of my own design actually. I Had to learn to control the blade to a point to make the cut go just right, if you cut it wrong then you have to go and find another feash bone." she saiid an explanation. It was a skill Aura was rather proud of, though she also had no idea that making such fernature was abnormal. It was one the skill outside of combat Miracle had ever tought her, and it wa sone Aura tried her best to hone.
"Rooms are rooms and the papers im sure you can sign tomarrow, I think the Lady who does that is asleep now, but like i said theirs plenty of Free Rooms. Well their are ocastional Mutants who lose control of their powers which can be dangerous, and their a full service kitchen here as well, their good cooks, makes you wonder how they aford it all, but that's not my concearn" She said with a shrug and tried to think of anything else. "Their is no curfew and your free to leave anytime in fact residents often leave for months at a time for one reason or another." She said thinking to herself as they walked into middile of the well furnaished Foyer, spotting Lisa at her desk, Aura smiled. "Lisa will get you any paper work you need" se said gesturing to the woman at the desk who had just returned. Aura knew she was Human but it was earie at times the amount the woman worked.

Aris shrugged at Aura's comment about her not feeling pain. "It has its up sides I guess." She didn't blame her new friend for thinking it was such a good thing. Had Aris not experienced it for herself she probably would have had the same opinion. Unfortunately she did have it and, as useful as it could be in certain situations, she would have rather retained her sense of touch. So it would make her flesh melds more difficult to meld with, so what. She would still be able to feel things, still be able to feel the softness of a cat's fur or the warmth of a lover's embrace. She would never have any of that ever again. And she would probably always be alone. What was the point of being with someone if she couldn't feel? That was, she thought, the worst consequence of not having a sense of touch.
Aris nodded attentively as Aura explained about her bone furtinutre. "I would love to be able to see it sometime." It didn't bother her to here that the other woman had obviously killed before, possibly many times. Death, while not something she sought out, was sometimes necessary and as mutants it was more often necessary than if they were humans. Humans killed each other all the time and for less important reasons than defending themselves and the people they cared about, so if humans had such low regard for their own lives why should mutants care for them any more? She wasn't about to seek it out but if there ever came a time that Aris needed to kill she would be prepared for it.
Aris extended a hand to shake Lisa's hand with a smile. She accepted the paperwork and sat down to fill it out, deciding that she'd rather just get it out of the way quickly rather than having to deal with it later. A short while later she handed the papers back to Lisa, deciding that she should probably go and find herself a room.
"You can see it whenever you wish." she said of her bone furniture, since she lived here it was only a few minutes away. It had been awhile since she made anything with it though. Still she decided she could prolbely use to make another lamp to light the room better, the skull lamps she had now left the room a bit dim as the light they emitted was restricted by the skull itself. It was an issue she had never really tried to address though and now thinking about it she considered a few options which might allow her to light the room better with what she had already acquired.
As Aura watched her greet Lisa and begin the paper work she thought about the papers she had filled out herself. Lisa had even helped her in a few places whare Aura was not quite sure what they wanted. Aura was patient through the process and spoke again when the paperwork was finished. "Well if theirs anywhere you would like to see first, i can help you with it" SHe offerd to her new found friend. She had become very familiar with the layout of the mansion over the months she had been here.
It seemed like just a few weeks ago she had arrived and already she felt at home in the building. It was strange at first to have a roof over he rhead she was not forced to pretend to be someones kid for. Few people rented to girls her age, fewer took that much cash from girls her age. Miracle had always paid them in cash, not that it matterd when they were in the wood, actually Aura had forgotten about the money untill her companmions deaths.

Aris smiled at her new friend very much looking forward to seeing the bone furniture. If nothing else it was sure to be a novelty. She took a moment to consider the merits of working with bone during the times when she couldn't afford the titanium she preferred. Not only was bone much cheaper than metal but it was sure to be faster and less difficult to work with as well. It probably wouldn't work so well to create the armor she envisioned for herself but it could potentially work wonders for limb replacement. And it wasn't as if she couldn't replace it at a later date when she had more time and money. "How is bone as a medium to work with?" she asked, genuinely curious. If you're making furniture, I assume you could merge different pieces of bone together? I would think bone would be much stronger and far superior to flesh. Might even be able to add some melted metal onto the bone to form weaponry." Her mind was working overtime now, considering the possibilities, and she often spoke aloud as she thought. It helped her to think. She smiled at Aura, gesturing apologetically. "Sorry, I guess I get a little carried away sometimes."
"I would like to see everything," Aris said with a laugh. All ready she was feeling like she had found herself a new home and she hadn't even had a chance to meet anyone yet. "The training area in particular I'd like to see. and maybe the kitchen." All she had eaten tonight was the bag of chips from earlier and she suddenly realized she was starving. "And I guess maybe and introduction some of the others staying here, if there's anyone worth meeting." She shrugged.
Aris dropped what little stuff she had in the first spare room she came across. The rest would arrive in a few days. She was still tired and hoped to sleep soon, but was hoping for a brief tour and a bite to eat first.
"Well it's easy enough to cut, it's mistakes that are the issue, bone can be unforgiving if you mess up the cut. Bone does tend to be harder then flesh but somewhat less flexible as well" She replied, having never been asked these questions before most either shyed away from her medium of choice or thought it was interesting and just moved on. It was nice to find someone who was interested in her work. " Also you always want to use bleach when working with bone, gets rid of that smell" she went on thinking about the process she actually used. "Melted metal could reinforce the bone and make it stronger or a good cutting edge, and it's all right to get carried away Artists are often consumed with their work" she said now thinking of such possibilities herself.
She said she wanted to see everything but she seemed like she wanted food first and so she made her way in the direction of the kitchen which she knew would still be open. "The others come and go so introductions might take time as some show up and dissopear to wherever they like to go, but youl meet everyone sooner or later. The Kitchen however is a much easier thing to address" she said as they soon came upon a very large kitchen that looked like it was made to hold a considerable number of people. "Just request what you want from the chef over thare and he will make it" she said as she say down at one of the seats not really hungry herself instead she purchased a soda she had acquired from a vending machine near her. "We can tour the other areas after this" she offered as her aura flared up around her pointer finger, and she proceeded to open the can by cutting the metal top at a slight angle then lifting it to the side to reveal the contents,

Aris nodded, listening attentively to all of the advice Aura had to say about working with bone. Her mind was still considering the possibilities and she liked the conclusions that she was coming to. "Flexibility isn't an issue," Aris said distractedly, mind clearly still on other things. She shook her head absently, coming back to reality. These thoughts could wait, for now she wanted a tour of this place. It was to be her new home, after all, so it would be best if she at least knew the general layout.
Aris was impressed to see the size of the kitchen and how busy it was, even at this time of night. She grinned happily. It had been a long time since she'd had decent food. "Are the workers here mutants as well?" she asked, curious. She walked up to the chef and requested a ham burger, not wanting anything too elaborate for the time being. She waited patently for her food to arrive and then sat down to eat it, more than pleased with its quality.
"So how did you discover you were a mutant?" Aris asked. This was the first mutant she had really had a chance to talk to and there were things she wanted to know. "Was your family OK with it? And how did you discover this place anyway?" She took a bite of her food and waiting for the other woman to answer.
"That's good, i do know you can heat it up enough to change it's form a bit though, which might help" she said unsure what parts would actually help this girl and which ones were basically just her rambling on. Running her fingers through her messy brown hair she watched the other girl curiously.
"Well, i have always enjoyed a good fight and so one day i was at school fighting with some other girl, and when i went to punch her in the stomach my aura manifested into a blade. My Punch Basically impaled the girl, cutting her spine roughly in half, dead before she hit the ground. It was an acadent but no one wanted to here that and before i knew it i was in a cell. My Parents never showed up and so I broke out, but had nowhere to go. Then i met a woman named Miracle who needed body guards, so i signed up and for the next two years we camped out in the woods, being fored on by the people after Miracle. Then about 8 months ago, a traiter gave a way our location, we never stood a chance, Most of us were dead before we even woke up, our cabin fell on me which is why i lived, but Miracle and Solkat.....they fell off a very tall cliff, but i could never lcoate the bodies and so i came here with he money i had been paid when that ran out i tried robbing a gas station but some mutant with ice powers stopped me and i ran here whare a guy rescued me from the cops who had pursued me" SHe explained the entire story not really understanding subtleness in this sort of thing. Aura spoke of it somewhat fondly though as if she had enjoyed the carnage. "I really liked this one girl in the group, she had such power, but when a fatal blow would ocur her power took her to other worlds from what she told me, so it is unlikely i would ever see her again" she said tilting her head at the thought.
"So how about yourself? I admit i am curious how you discoverd your mutation, it doesent seem to be something you would just find out like i did" she said unsure if a body part really had to be removed for the girls powers to work. She assumed not though after a few seconds as that would amke it awful hard to find out you were a mutant at all. She took a drink from her opened soda breaking the lid completely off ad\fter she did, she then ordered some French fries which were soon served. "Your parents care much for mutants?" she continued curiously, she liked hearing other mutants storys.

Aris listened with interest at Aura's story of how she discovered her mutation and her life afterward. It seemed she wasn't the only one who had been through some difficult things due to being a mutant. She almost felt like she should comfort the other woman but that was neither in Aris' nature nor did she think that Aura would really appreciate it. It was remarkable, in a way, that despite what her friend had obviously gone through she still managed to embrace her mutant status. That took a certain strength of character.
"Someone broke into my house and raped and killed my sister," Aris began in a dead voice. This wasn't something she talked about often. In fact, she couldn't remember ever talking about it but Aura had been honst with her and she felt like she could trust the woman. Strange that it had been so long since she trusted anyone, but she felt a certain kinship to Aura. Though she didn't know her well yet, in many ways they were similar.
"He attempted to do the same with to me but because of my martial arts background I managed to subdue him, though not without harm to myself. The bastard severed my hand from my wrist and for some reason..." her voice took on a tone of puzzlement, "I guess I had some instinct relating to my mutation before it actually manifested. I just sort of...attached an art sculpture to my wrist and it melded there." She shrugged, as if the details didn't quite matter. "I ran away before the cops showed up. Haven't seen or talked to my parents or anyone else from that life since that time. I doubt my parents care, they're anti-mutants of the worst sort. If they found out I was a mutant they would disown me, so I saved them the trouble." Aris laughed bitterly. "I spent the next few years working for human criminals who didn't pay me enough for my services and didn't respect me enough for my powers, but it was a living. I'm just glad to have met you and been introduced to this place, a place where I can be among my own kind, where I belong."
Aris couldn't quite keep the note of pride out of her voice when speaking of her own kind. "That bastard from the gas station wasn't the first or the last to have a problem with mutants. I experience every day, every moment I'm out in public. Humans disparaging me because I'm a mutant; hating me, looking down on me. They have no understanding of the fact that I am better than them, no respect at all." She shook her head. "Just as all mutants are."
Aura did not greive for her lost comrades, she did miss them, but death haponed to everyone eventaully and all one could do was fight untill the end came. It was an end that would happon no matter what one did so their was no use fearing it or being to sad for those who passed on to the enxt life or wharever people went when they died. The way to dishonor your comrades was to stop thinking about them at all, only then would they truely be lost to the storms of time.
Now how she had discoverd her power made sense though now Aura wonderd what would have happoned if such an event had never ocirred. If she would have ever Discoverd her powers had the event not ocurred was an intresting thing to consider. 'It makes sense you would have such an Instict, after all nature gave ou your powers, and so your body understands them like mit does breathing" Aura said as the woman looked puzzeled on why she had done so. Still her story was much the same as her own, A Tradgic event sent them down paths deemed criminal in the eyes of mere humans and then they ended up here.
"I am glad i met you as well, and if you want we can take out yor parents, quick and easy or slow and painfully." She offerd casyally forming a hammer around her hand and crushing the pop can before she tossed it in the trash. "Their a cornerd animal, they will be repalced by us one day and long before that they will have lost control of anything that matters. The Humans fight as they do becuse they realize if they don't they will die anyway, simply due to math. Human parents more often give birth to our kind then we do of them. We are the Next evalutionary step, Nature has given us this world. " She sain with a smile. She had been tought such in her times in the woods wuth Solkat, Solkat had eductaed her in battile and in learning.

. 'It makes sense you would have such an Instict, after all nature gave ou your powers, and so your body understands them like mit does breathing" Aris nodded, considering the statement. Made sense really. Why would she be born with a power and have no knowledge on how to use it? Obviously she had learned from experience that, in the beginning, the control of her power was far from perfect. Hell, she was still learning more about it. With every flesh meld she created she learned a little more about what she could do and how she could make better and more versatile melds. But it made sense that the basics, at least, would be ingrained in her sub conscious mind, as much a part of her being as her mutation itself.
Aris blinked a little dumbfoundedly when Aura offered to help her take out her parents. Had she really just heard the woman properly? She did just offer to help her kill her parents, right? Aris shook her head. Her first thought was that of horror. What kind of person spoke of death so casually? She had done some bad things in her life, but never killed. Taking a moment to think about it however, really consider the positives and negatives and the moral repercussions, she wasn't so sure that she disagreed with the idea of it. After all, many humans made the lives of mutants miserable. Not only did they discriminate with words and actions, but they were often violent about it as well. More than once she had been attacked because she was different, and of course there were the stories about anti-mutant organizations. Not to mention the rumors of darker more insidious organizations and how they treated mutants. Why, if humans were willing kill maim and kill mutants, should mutants not be able to do the same thing in return to humans? And she could look at things another way as well. Humans were lesser creatures than mutants. As Aura had all ready stated, mutants were the next stage in evolution. And since it was ok for humans to kill animals, didn't it stand to reason that it was also ok for mutants to kill humans? Comparatively, it was about the same thing. Mutants were to humans as humans were to animals. Perhaps it was even right that she kill humans, some humans at least. It was about the defense of her people, and many of her people weren't willing or able to defend themselves. Perhaps it was up to people like herself and Aura to defend them, whether they believed they needed defending or not.
Having worked all of this out in her own head Aris finally nodded towards Aura. "My parents are not worth the effort. They are dead to me and have been from the moment I discovered I was a mutant. Surely there must be better targets than my parents. If I'm going to be killing, surely I should be killing those humans who work to keep our kind down, who only perpetuate the hatred. I want to do something for my people, not just engage in petty revenge for myself. For too long I've thought only of myself and my own survival. Now that I'm here, among my people and my survival is ensured, I want to do more. I want to put my powers and skills to use in the fight for mutant rights and mutant dominance." It was the first time she had truly considered such things. For years she had considered herself better than merely human. She had known the truth of mutant superiority almost from the moment her powers had first developed, but for the first time she really considered what that meant. Her words felt right to her.
"That is fine as well, to be honest im not even sure whare mine are, i forgot whare i lived though i know it was somwhare in this city" She rplied, simply. Aura veiwed death as a part of life so offering to kill somone for a freind was easy. Back in the woods, Aura had been forced to kill almost dayly and it became almost a part of life, to her Killing humans really was as a simple as killing deer. She Liked this girls way of thinking, her people came before her, Aura beleived in the same. Aura knew her reasons for killing were relatively petty compared to her new freinds, Aura killed for enjoyent and for the rush that came with a good fight, she did beleive each human she killed however helped out mutants as a whole.
Aura nodded to the girls statement in agreement. "Yea, Mutant survival is importent and somthing at this point whare one could easily lose their life these days. Still my feelings are the same, my people come before me, the harder issue however is when other Mutants try and defend the Humans. FIghting other Mutants is easily more fun then fighting humans, more of a challinge. I find mutants like that to be traiters to our race and so i allow them to share their fate, after all an enimy you let go one day may well stab you in the back another." She said of her own ebleives. Aura preferred fighting other mutants not so much to kill them but for fun which is why she snjoyed sparring with them just as much.
"Oh, so you know the police won't normally come onto Sanctuary property, so if you are ever in trouble you can just come here. The cops won't chase you into a mansion full of Mutants, even rabbits won't cook them selfs" she said basicly trying to say, it would be very stupid for them to try and attack a mansion with many known human killers, some of which even targets cops.

Aris thought it was a little strange that her new friend would have forgotten where here parents lived, especially if they were in the same city, but then again she had been through a lot in her short life. As much as Aris herself had been through, she could only imagine what had led Aura to such a casual view of life and death. Part of her new found commitment to the betterment of mutant kind was making enough of a difference so that future generations would be able to avoid such horrors. So many humans were able to be born and grow up in casual ease and innocence, where as mutants were forced to confront the evils of life every day and it just wasn't right.
Aris nodded in appreciation of what the other woman had to say. "I've never fought another mutant and am not sure I really want to. Its distressing to think that such traitors to our kind exist." She shook her head sadly. She wasn't sure she wanted to confront any other mutants, both because it meant that they were disloyal to they're own people and because she didn't know if she was strong enough yet. Her mutation allowed her to sculpt and better her body as she saw fit and between her flesh melds and her martial arts training, no mere human stood a chance. But there was still so much weak human flesh on her body, one good strike and she was done for. This had to change and soon, especially given her new convictions.
"Good to know cops won't be coming in here any time soon," Aris said with a laugh, taking a moment to imagine the carnage involved if they tried. She wondered how many others here shared Aura's somewhat radical view on death. Not that it particularly bothered her if they did. Finally finished eating Aris stood up. "So, where's the next destination on this tour?"
"Well with the path you mentioned it really is more of a question as to when you will fight them, their are those who beleive we can coexcist with the Humans, those who defend those who wish to harm them. I can not understand defending an animal who will eat you as you try and help it, startegicly it is foolish" She said having rememberd the one preacher lady who she had fought. The girl had said she fought dirty for involving the Humans around he rin the fight, Aura felt no remorse for doing so however.
"As for our next destination...." Aura said standing up herself and looking around with a thought. "We could head to the training facility" She said thinkign to herself. And so she began torward it gong down a hallway but as they Did Aura stopped by a room, which had her name on it. "I wnated to feed my pet, shes prolbely getting a littile restless" Aura explaine dopening the Door and waving to Aria to come in.
(If you wnat to move this to aura room we can, for now i will just copy the descrip of it so it's all on one page)
Aura's room's walls were covered in blocks of material made from all sorts of different material, all had scratches, and cut marks in them, a few, lighter pieces of metal, barely clung to the walls, revealing the crimson walls behind them. From Each corner hung a human skull, Which when the light switch near the door was flicked, would emit light from their eye and mouth sockets, to light the room, leaving the room somewhat dim. A Dresser was on the far side of the room, somewhat dusty, with her pistol and a few bullets spread pout across it, laying on it, empty. Aura's bed was simple, with a bleach white nightstand made of bone next to it. The dresser was also Displaying a semi worn, picture, of her, and five others though features were hard to make out, it was easily noticeable they were mostly female. A tall blue haired woman, stood next to, Aura, joint in mouth and sword in hand.
Though, Aura's room was somewhat sparsely furnished, their were a was a few chairs and a small table all made from bleach white bone, with goldfish inside of the glass of the table swimming around. Near the computer desk, in the far corner, this area was much more used, notebooks and books piled on one side of the flat screen monitor. On top of the bed, was a worn, but in tact sword, covered in dry blood, as it has been for months. In her closet was the Sailor Jupiter cosplay costume Kasumi had given her as well as several dozen bones of different length in one pile and shattered broken bones in another smaller pile. Sitting on the bed curled up on Aura's pillow was a black and white skunk, it's stripe split into two from it's head traveling it's flanks before metting back at the bushy tail. Sticking out from under the bed, was a tank full of small mice, with a label that said, Cat foos, which was crossed out and under it, Skunk food.
Aura turned the lights on, and the illumination from the skull lights quickly lit the room though somwhat dimly. "You wnated to see the furnature so this will be a good time for that to" she said as she slipped the mouse cage from her bed and opened it, grabbing a single mouse closeing the top with the other and pushing it back. The Skunk was already on her feet well awhare it was feeding time, seting the mouse on the bed she watched as the Skunk made short work of it's meal pounceing on it and then ripping into it with her jaws.

(OOC: I'm fine leaving it in this thread.)
IC: Aris considered the idea of coexisting with the humans, wondering if such a thing were even possible. Technically they were coexisting with humans now, and look where that had gotten her people. Mutants learned to hide what they were for fear of human persecution, they learned to be ashamed of what they were. That wasn't any way to live and as long as humans were still around and still in power Aris couldn't see the state of things changing. Those who believed otherwise were fooling themselves. The hatred and hostility ran to deep and in the end it would either be humans or mutants that survived, not both. And if Aris had her way it would be mutants. It made her a little angry to think of those naive fools fighting for such a lost cause. It was one thing to maintain personal delusions, it was quite another to try and force those delusions on others and in so doing potentially cripple the cause of your own people. How could they even live with themselves?
Aris looked around in horrified fascination at Aura's room. She certainly hadn't been kidding when she said she made furniture out of bones. The skulls in the corners being particularly grotesque. Aris grinned appreciating her friend's morbid decorating sense. She walked up to one of the bone chairs to get a better look at exactly how it was put together, considering what she might be able to do with such a material. Her initial impressions were that it should work quite well for her next flesh meld. "You really must show me how to work with this," Aris said, liking where her thoughts were taking her. This was certainly a new medium and not one she ever would have considered working with even a couple of years ago.
Seeing the skunk was certainly unexpected not not at all what Aris had envisioned Aura to keep as a pet. "What's his name?" Aris asked, "and how did you get him?" She leaned down beside the bed, extending her flesh and blood hand carefully for the skunk to smell her.
