The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"I am willing to teach you, it's biggest issue is when you make a mistake you often have to start over as the bone can become to brittle or even break" She explained as her friend mentioned wanting to learn the craft. To Aura is was about the same as teaching her to paint, if Aura had any idea how to paint. It Had been the Most sturdy material Aura was able to work with in the woods. Their was wood of course, but if you took to much, the enemy would track the damage and find them from it. Aura used her powers for the bone work so she was not quite sure how she was going to help Aria with it. You could use many methods to fuze the bone together or could even screw it in by marking the parts accordingly.
"Her name is Solkat, after my old friend. I got her during a raid on a Zoo by Mutants who had animal mutations, it was a very interesting scene. Anyway while it Happened i picked her up thinking she was a kitty. A few weeks ago i was informed of my mistake. Apparently their not even related to cats" Aura said with a shrug as the Skunk simply sniffed Meld's hand as she brought it close. Though it still had it's scent glands, it had yet to use them while in sanctuary or while Aura had had her outside. "She's pretty calm around people so im guessing she was handled a lot at the Zoo" she said oblivious to the fact that she had actually stolen the skunk from the Zoo, despite it's escape. Aura moved back torward the door a bit, figuring they would continue on, unless her freind wnated to explore a bit more.

Meld nodded her head. "I think I should be able to reinforce them with titanium and probably use the same material to attach one piece to another. It needs to be arm and hand shaped, of course, but no reason to be limited by a traditional human arm and hand." She began to map things out in her mind, considering what would be best for a battle situation. "I have a good idea how you get your bones,"she grinned not opposed to the thought of a few mutant haters dying, "but how do you not get caught? With the body count you have, how do the cops not know about you? Or have you locked away forever?" This is what it really came down to. How could she acquire these bones that she needed to construct her new arm but avoid the cops at the same time? It would hardly be practical to end up in jail before she even had a chance to complete her project. For that matter, she'd rather not end up in jail at all.
Meld tried to pet the little skunk, giving Aura a funny look when she mentioned originally thinking the skunk was a kitty. How did one mistake a skunk for a kitty anyway? It kind of fit the woman in a way, though, having a skunk just gave her more character. It certainly wasn't a traditional human pet and her friend was anything but traditional and far above the status of human. "That sounds like quite the experience. Zoo's are horrible places, keeping all of those animals locked up like criminals. What did they ever do to deserve such treatment?"
Aura knew what Titanium was, she had managed to steal a square of it, which was one of the few unmarked squares lining her walls. "That is True, if you have the space, you may well be able to fire a cable or bullets from it, though how to get enough cable into an arm to be useful i do not know" she mentioned also considering the new upgrade her friend seemed to be designing before her. She was very interested in it as well as helping her friend out in aquireing the material. A good fight was always fun and in this case she was getting to help a friend as well.
"The cops know who i am, i was locked up after my mutation manifested, but their were no cops in the woods. Normally if their is only one or two cops i can kill them before their bullets drain me to much. I Normally operate at night as well and the first blow i make is always a killing one, if your victim can not scream your usually left alone to take what you need and move on. Your Target is also a factor, i target most gang members and drug atics as well as bar drunks. A good part of it though, is when the police hear Mutants are the cause they seem to be slower to respond, i think they realize their a bit outclassed in most cases." She replied with a shrug then her eyes turned a bit cold, even as she smiled. "Also i refuse to be caged by them again, i will let myself fall before that" she said using an odd term for death, her eyes coldness fading back before she moved on. "If your looking for strength in bone how ever, your adult male is your best bet, their longer and usually stronger then an adult womans for one reason or another. The Size gives you more room to make mistakes and hold more weight. So When you make your strike, try to aim for the head or the neck, prevents them from screaming and even if you miss they useually drown in their own blood which prevents screaming anyway" she said thinking about the process.
The skunk clearly used to human contact allowed and even seemed to enjoy the attention it was getting, thought made no noise to show this. Aura ahd to admit, Melds description of the Zoo did seem rather terrible. "I had no idea Zoo's did that, never been in one, when i got her, she was already outside, right after a killed that Emu" she said recalling the night. It had been a lot of fun, more so because she had gotten a cute pet that she liked, even if it was not a kitty. " Her being a skunk does explain why she despised that cat food i got that time" she said leaning against the wall as they talked.

Meld listened carefully to what her friend was telling her. It made sense that adult males would have the largest and strongest bones so that was obviously the type of target she should be considering. Her mind only protested the thought that she was now planning murder for a moment before she managed to push the thought down. It was murder really, since she was above any mere human. "I'm not sure I can design it to fire bullets," Meld said, deep in thought now. "I don't know if its possible to meld with something that replicates moving parts like that. Besides, I was thinking more defensively."
Meld took the glove off her left hand to demonstrate, wishing that she had some paper to sketch out her quickly developing plan. "As you can see," she began, lifting her left hand and flexing the blades on it, "I have offense well in hand. No mere human and, I like to think, few mutants can stand up to my blades. Its defense that I need; I'm currently vulnerable to many forms of attack, hampered as I am by flesh and blood." She paused a moment to get her thoughts in order before continuing her description. "I was thinking of carving a shield of sorts and having that fused to the lower part of my arm, just below my wrist. There must be a way to carve and attach more tan one bone together, I was thinking perhaps hip bones would be best. I could sharpen the edges and line it with titanium, thus including some offensive capabilities as well." She paused again, thinking of the mechanics of such a thing. It would certainly improve her durability, at least for attacks coming from in front of her. In time she'd develop a more all encompassing solution, but that would certainly do for the short term.
"I know how to incapacitate a target quickly and silently," Meld said, in reply to her friend. She supposed it was only logical that the cops would spend a little longer than usual dealing with mutant murders. As much as many of them hated mutants, most didn't have a death wish and with people like Aura walking around, messing with mutants could result in the very real possibility of dying. "You're not the only one who refuses to be caged," Meld said with a bitter laugh. She had never actually been imprisoned, but that wasn't for lack of trying by the police. More than once she had just barely escaped, and then only because of her training and her superior genetics. She had seen the mental effect that prison could have on others though, and it wasn't something she was prepared to deal with.
"How do we ensure that we kill the right kind of humans?" Meld finally asked. "The kind that will help the mutant cause with their deaths?" She wasn't sure that she was prepared to just kill civilians on the street. There had to be some way to be sure that they were actually the anti mutant type of humans. Then again, sometimes just walking around openly as a mutant was enough to get people to yell and even attack occasionally. Maybe a night time foray into the world, her and Aura, taking no pains to hide her own mutation and Aura with her wonderful pink aura active in all its glory? That should attract just the right kind of attention. Meld grinned at the thought. They'd just have to make sure they didn't walk anywhere that was too crowded. She would still like to avoid the cops if at all possible.
"I guess some zoos aren't as bad as others, but most treat their animals very poorly. How would you like to be locked up in a little room your entire life, with strangers constantly walking past and staring at you? I know I wouldn't like it." Meld could still remember her first trip to the zoo. She had to have been about 10 at the time and her parents had brought her there. She didn't remember many of the details, all she remembered was how sad all of the animals looked and how dirty their cages were. From that point on she refused to go back to the zoo and support such barbaric behavior.
'I see, well youl have the time to try now and find the real extent of your powers, and bone is as available as wood in a forest here, so theirs always practice material" Aura said trying to help, but feeling a bit under equipped to do so. She had just met the gil, the interworking of such things as the arm, or the eye she still understood littile of. "Defence is a good start" Aura said thinking.
Aura picked up one of the discarded bones in her room, seeing the crack that was deep in the leg. The owner had likely recently broke his leg, Aura had carved it to start thinking the bbone would be strong enough. "I began to carve this one but i hit it wrong and the small crack that was in thare got to big to reliably contune. The bone was well rounded and was long enough to been a leg bone from an adult male. "Bleach is a must, it kills the germs and flies and helps with the smell" she said remembeing she needed more bleach herself.
Then things got intresting for Aura, as she heard the plan for the shield. "You could make the edges of the sheild sharp as well, that would make it a bit of both though the edges would be thin. My only real weapon expeirnce comes from a sword my freind once used" She said poiting to the well worn old blade coverd with blood, the blade was in rough shape, chipped and slightly bent, but looking like Aura trophy. "Mortar landed in her owners chest, when i found it her hand still had a death grip on it" She said realizeing only then she had drifted of course in their goal. "I Do like the blades by the way. they look like they could do some damiage" Aura said more curious on how she would fare against that arm. Her Aura would never stand a chance, her blades were not that sharp, so to win she would have to strike the fleash to him.
"I am unsure what you mean, Humans are humans, hunting them is much like you would hunt a deer. You go after the biggest and strongest members of the pack becuse their more of a challinge and they look better as a trophy. It's true were not hunting for trophys, but were only hunting animals whichb are over populated. I do stay away from children and the females with children though, im not cruel after all. The humans will evenutaully cease to excists anyway, so us killing them just helps nature a long, The Homeless are useually good targets as no one reports them missing normally" she said thinking about her experinces in hurting humans.
"I've never been in one that i can rememeber but many things are hard to recall before Miracle but i spent time like that once, and vowed to die before i was caged like that again. Maybe we should raid a local Zoo then some time, watcing Elaphents play with cars is fun. I wonder if i killed another Emu if the food people would cook me it" she said again getting a bit distracted.

"Believe me, I have every interest in exploring the extent and limitations of my powers. But if I experiment now and fail, I'll be left with an arm that doesn't work properly and will take weeks to replace. But if I create something I know I can make I'll have a working upgraded arm. I can always experiment later and if the experiment fails I can simply re-meld my previous arm." Meld spoke plainly, as if cutting off her arm and replacing it with another was no big deal, and to her it wasn't. She rarely stopped to think any more that others might be a little more uncomfortable with the concept. She had to be practical about these things, practical and patient. It took time to achieve perfection.
Meld observed carefully the things Aura was showing her and explaining about the bone she had been working on. It definitely wouldn't do for her arm to develop cracks in it. Hopefully she would be able to collect up quite a number of bones in order to allow for such errors to occur. New skills took time to learn, after all.
Meld nodded at the compliment to her blades. "Thank you. It took a long time to design and implement. This is the forth time I've replaced this hand and I think I finally got it right this time. I think I'll keep this design when I eventually replace the rest of my arm." Not only had it taken a great deal of time and effort to design, but it had taken a great deal of time to learn to fight with as well. It was different fighting with blades as compared to mere flesh. It had taken countless hours to reform her muscle memory in order to slash and impale instead of punch and forearm and it would probably take even longer to learn how to fight with a sharpened shield at peak effectiveness. Blades at least had a certain similarity to fists, it was almost a natural progression. A rounded shield would be a different matter entirely. Hopefully this training room that had been mentioned was as good as Aura made it out to be.
Meld tried to phrase her reply in a manner that the other woman would be able to understand. "Think of it like soldiers vs. civilians. Killing those who actively promote anti-mutant sentiments is like killing soldiers and killing those who are indifferent or even pro mutant," not that she believed many humans were actually pro mutant, "are like killing civilians. They might be no different than animals, but I don't kill animals casually either. Why kill an innocent animal when there are so many guilty ones around?" She was pretty sure that was the best way to explain it to her friend.
Meld laughed at the thought of raiding the local zoo. Oh, what chaos they could cause with a stunt like that. Doing good by the animals by freeing them from their cruel captivity, making life deliciously difficult for a few humans, and having a blast and creating some carnage while they were at it. The idea had more than a little appeal. "Now that sounds like my idea of some entertainment!" Meld agreed. "Any night you want to do it, count me in."
"Yea it seems like it would take awhile to get it right and getting it wrong seems like a real issue as well, So you kept your previous designs for back up, that makes sense" She asked curiously it made sense to do, in case somehow one broke or was damaged somehow. Aura was sure the Arm would stand up to normal Humans in most cases but she was more concerned with certain Mutants who had abilities which might have been able to harm it. Aura did admire the Arm, it was certainly somthing Aura had never seen before. "So any idea how much of your flesh you wish to replace?" she asked curiously.
"Keeping what works and what you know how to use makes perfect sense" She said as she did the same really, Aura stuck to Her Aura weapons in combat. SHe would and had used the environment around her as well, but she never punched or kicked normally, she knew no martial arts and so far her Aura had taken her this far. She did wish Miracle had helped her make the aura more powerful as well instead of teaching her all the control she had. Making her Aura harden around one finger at a time or carve her furniture were exercises to improve control. Still she had time to work on Raw power much as her friend had time to work on her melds.
"I understand some Humans support mutants more then others, i choose to view them all as guilty becuse i'm not picky, My reasons may lack a noble direction, but one day they will All feel my Vengeance when i bring their city's down around their ears. Still My path of Vengeance is not the issue her. If you wish to select a target feel free, it really doesent matter to me what humans donates the bones. If Cops are valid targets then we could well just ravage a store front and jump the cop who shows up, their useually male and taller then average and if the wrong kind showed up theirs always more" She said still talking casually. To Aura killing was as normal as breathing air, she ahd been raised fighting and then had been trained for years to kill her targets, striking at a vital organ was simple natural for her now.
"i'll keep that in mind then, im always up for a good fight, and im sure that will attract some attention" she said judging by the last zoo she had seen raided. it had caused panic and chaos, even the cops had been unsure what to do in the face of thousend pound animals. Still that was an adventure for another night, she wonderd who else would like to come for such a night. She already had ideas in her head but quickly realized she had no idea what the zoos looked like, if they looked diffrent from one another or the same.

"I can do minor repairs on my flesh melds without worry, if need be. More serious damage could cause them to need replacing." Meld shrugged when asked how much flesh she wished to replace. "Eventually all of it. Flesh is my weakness, as it is the weakness of all humans and most mutants. Bone, metal, stone, all are superior to flesh. One flesh meld at a time I destroy the weakness in my body and replace it with strength. As your aura is your strength and your perfection, so my flesh melds are mine. I want people to look upon me and see that perfection, see with but a glance how superior I am to all humans."
Meld found it refreshing that her explanations actually made sense to someone. It seemed that in many ways Aura thought the same way as Meld herself did, although with, perhaps, with an even greater focus on battle and the cause than she herself had. Then again, it was obvious that her friend had been fighting for mutant rights for a lot longer than she had. Perhaps such a single mindedness came to all those who fought for the cause eventually. Meld wasn't entirely sure what she thought of that idea, not wanting to lose herself in the many fights to come. She vowed silently not to be consumed by the passion of her new found beliefs.
"Cops are certainly a valid target," Meld agreed, grinning. She had more than one reason to dislike cops, and the fact that most seemed to have an issue with mutants was the lesser of the reasons. "Ravage a storefront, cause some chaos, maybe acquire some some much needed money and then go cop killing. I can't think of a better way to spend an evening, can you?" Her parents would be so proud to see her now, she thought with an inward mental snicker. A cop killing, human hating, criminal mutant. She was sure that was exactly what her parents had in mind for her. She burst out laughing, not caring that Aura was probably now going to think she was crazy.
"Of course, raiding a zoo could also be an enjoyable experience. Likely the same result with cops showing up to be massacred, with a whole different sort of fun and the added good deed of freeing the poor caged animals. Who knows, you might even end up with another skunk." She gave the skunk a little scratch on the top of the head. "Of course, no chance for prophet in a zoo raid."
It made Aura happy to hear Meld refer to her mutation as perfefection, it meant she was starting to think the right way. Their perfections were gifts, making them more advanced and more capeable of surviveing their only remaining predators, themselfs. Aura was glad minor repairs cuase dher littile concearn though. Melds way of thinking made her smile though, she did seem the type a kindred spirit even. Aura ahd to agree she had seen several powerful mutants brought down becuse their bodies had been shredded.
"She might like a freind, im not really sure how social Skunks are though, most of what i know omes from living with her, some of the larger animals might yeild some strong bone as well" she said remembering the elaphents and rhinos. They had heavy bodys which Aura wa ssure meant they had strong powerful bones but killing off cops was always fun to. Isabel would be jelous if she was not at least asked to join in.
"Sounds good to me to, but first i have somthing you might like just as much, The Sanctuary houses a team of Mutants who fight for peoples rights, The Order, Sworn to defend Mutants. Their ideals are much like our own, I myself am a member of it. If your intrested i could arange a meeting for you with one of the mutants in charge, in fact i know one who likes playing with cops as well" She said with a smile, she knew it was sudden but meld had been quite clear on her convictens and so Aura did feel it would be a good match. "It's the reason the cops won't come here anymore, Most of the order members are quite willing to defend themselfs and those who live here" she said going on a bit. Aura closed her eyes for a few secounds.

Meld didn't really know a lot about skunks, it just wasn't something she had ever bothered to research. When, after all, would she ever actually need to know abut skunks? Back before her mutation had first manifested she was a good little human student living in the city and skunks were something to be avoided. Once she found out she was a mutant, well, she was so consumed with just making enough money to survive that she didn't have the time for frivolous activities like skunk research. She shrugged her shoulders. "You would know more about skunks than I would."
Meld listened in rapt attention as Aura described The Order to her. An organization dedicated to defending mutant rights? Which, apparently was not against using violence to do so, when need be? It seemed like exactly what she had been looking for all these years, even if she hadn't actually realized she was looking until very recently. Not only had she found her convictions but, it seemed, she had found a group that shared them, a group that was actually doing something to fight for the rights of mutants everywhere. She wasn't entirely surprised to hear that Sanctuary was a front for such an organization, it would explain why they were so willing to house wayward mutants for free; it was all a part of the cause of bettering mutant life.
"I want a chance to be a part of this Order," Meld said strongly. She didn't even have to think about it. She needed to make a difference in the lives of mutants everywhere, needed to help those that couldn't, or wouldn't, help themselves. But she could only do so much on her own. No matter her gifts, no matter her dedication, there was only so much one individual could do. With the backing of an entire organization of like minded individuals...It took her breath away thinking of the good they could do for their people.
Aura had asked the question becuse she was sure Meld was the type. So when meld answerd that she wanted to join up their was no surprise. "I thought you would, i'll have to contact a few people but they will like you" She said assured. It was strange to be on the other side of the fence this time, as last time she had been with dragon king. Pushing herself from the wall she looked back at the door.
"Maybe we should move on though" She said with a smile not really sure what to say after this. The side track they had found however was fine. Aura enjoyed it she just figured the girl might like to see the rest of the place as well. Then again Aura herself had just wonderd the corridors until she had everything mapped out in her head. Walking over to her pet skunk she patted it's head a few times and it, jumped down from the bed looking at the cage of live mice.
Aura felt loyelty was everything, in fact it came before ones own values, which is why she was quite willing to do anything asked of her by the Order. She knew most others held loyelty to a lesser degree but in Aura it had been ingrained by Miracle. Thinking of Isabel she thought the woman might be a good person to invite on their trip, certainly if they were going cop killing.

Meld felt energized knowing that she would soon (if everything went well, but one couldn't think negatively about such things) be a part of an organization that was actually doing something. She would finally be able to actually do something. "I look forward to speaking to others of The Order and proving my worth to them as well as you."
Meld shook her head at the prospect of continuing on. She had to much to think about, to much to consider for the moment to properly concentrate on the rest of the tour. It felt as if her life was at a precipice and that it was about to go through the most profound of shifts. What she needed was some time to think and consider everything that Aura had told her this night. "I'm sorry," she said honestly, "but I think I may have to take a rain check on the rest of the tour. You've been wonderful but I am exhausted. Would you forgive me if I said I had to retire to my room for the night?"
"Not at all, you know whare i live after all and your room is not to far" She said with a shrug. People had their limits she guessed. And becides that the two would likely get to see quite a bit of eachother as they would be living in the same mansion, unlike her and Kasumi. As she bid the woman a good night, Aura sat doown on her bed grabbed a bone and used her aura to form a circular saw grinding out the grooves so it could screw into the peice it went to.
She had enjoyed her encounter, she enjoyed meeting new mutants freind or enimy. She was glad this one was a freind though, she felt she could get along well with her. To be honest however she ahd only done a handful of missions herself, most had been moderately successful. Still she did feel they could be doing more somhow and with Meld they just might be able to do so. Aura Set the bone down, And formed an aura sword on her arm and began striking in a long planned serious of strikes against various panals on her wall, ripping into some of the thinner blocks with ease.
