The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It's been said that to make an omelet you have to break a few eggs. Garrett knew that his knew position at the Sanctuary required both a masterfully crafted veneer for the public as well as the determination to see through the changes that needed to occur there. These thoughts were addressed in his mind as he straightened his tie in the mirror. Wearing suits seemed natural to him now for some reason. Prior to the Haywire incident, he would have thought them constrictive and stifling. Now though, they felt like second skin.
A clipboard with the names and locations of the current residents lay on the desk in his room. He had already gone over the list and had posted an announcement on the general bulletin boards around the center's most traveled areas. Garrett stood at the mirror for a moment quietly, admiring the man in the reflection. This is the man he desired to be. A man of action, of decision. The Order had given him the power to make his own decisions and also work as a unit. The Mansion seemed to offer only cozy meetings and TV nights.
As he made his way to the foyer, Garrett found the seven human residents that remained at the Sanctuary. They exhibited a general feeling of angst and worry. Garrett felt no pity for them, as surely their human brothers ad sisters would take them in. Or not. Humans had the capacity to do many great and powerful things, but it was usually wasted on violence and self indulgence. Garrett felt that the human influence was akin to an infection. He would be the antibiotic.
Once he assembled the group in the foyer, he proceeded." Good morning. Thank you for your attendance. I am Garrett Wills, the new public relations director here at the Sanctuary. As some of you may know, we have had an influx of new residents of the mutant variety. Considering that the Sanctuary is geared toward the housing, rehabilitation and education of the mutant population, the resources you all are currently using must be reallocated." He was pleased with himself.
A large man in biker leathers stood up, apparently selecting himself as the group's spokesperson. That or he wished to be an example. It made little difference to Garrett. " SO, basically, you are telling us to get out? That's a bunch of bs, man." Garrett's eyes and features softened. " Yes, that sounds about right. I'll give you an hour to remove your belongings." This didn't seem to sit right with the man, who stood up and began his human ritual of aggression. His chest puffed, as any aggressive male animal's would. The man was a few inches taller than Garrett and if it had been a physical fight, there may have been cause for alarm. Mutants didn't need to punch people, generally.
" What if I told you I ain't leaving? What's a little bald cream puff like you gonna do about it?" His calloused mitt slapped down on Garrett's shoulder. Garrett's eyes glanced at the shoulder and then at the man. He had apparently chosen the example route. The Orderling's own hand rested on that of the biker, the imprint of the man's neural path superimposed over his body. A smile crept across Garrett's lips." I am going to ask you politely to leave. If you decide that respect and diplomacy are not the tools you wish to use, we can surely go another route."
Foolishly, the biker chuckled and stood back, removing his rings and jewelry. He looked at the other humans, some of which had relented and gone to collect their belongings. The few that remained seemed to be of the intelligence of this one, thinking that should their champion best Garrett, it would somehow change the inevitable outcome. Silly sapiens. Garrett merely watched the man's antics as an anthropologist might in the presence of an antiquated ritual display of some lost tribe.
The red, agitated fire that was his power coursed through the brute's system, marking and identifying the key impulses and ganglia which Garrett would use in a moment. As he focused on the violent energies, the man gave him a hard shove, knocking him into one of the tables in the foyer. " Aww, is baby gonna cry?"A flash of anger ripped through Garrett's senses as he focused on the hand that kept touching him. He saw the energies present in the man's neural system move en masse to the hand in question.
As focus narrowed and sharpened on a specific location, as opposed to the general body, the red light intensified, shining bright in anticipation of its master's command. " No, I am not going to cry. Maybe you should." Like the closing of a fist, the energies set down and clamped upon the man's hand. He dropped like a sack of hammers, clutching his hand and screaming. Garrett wondered how intense it was, as he had never been able to focus his energy in such a manner. Excellent time for study. The other humans scattered off to their belongings.
He knelt down beside the man, whose eyes were wide like a baby doe's, his face fixed in a grimace of shock. " What would you compare the sensation you are feeling to? It may not have an equal experience in your mind. I would just like to know. Call it curiosity." The man only shuddered and murmured, tears and snot streaming.
Jaxon had finally made it to the Sanctuary. It seemed like whenever she wanted to do something, especially something that she didn’t want to tell people about, her life got so busy that she couldn’t sneak away without repercussions. So after her meeting, she had quickly changed out of her business suit, and bolted to the garage in her building. She had whipped the little motorcycle out of its parking spot and floored it up the ramp and out the gate before anyone could stop her and tell her they needed something.
So as she stood in the lobby of the Sanctuary explaining herself to the receptionist; dressed in jeans, a t-shirt that read ‘An Apple a Day’ with a cute little picture on it, flat boots, and a leather backpack satchel over one shoulder, she looked like a regular teen, and probably younger than her actual age. After telling her that Jax had been invited by Venus to come practice her powers, to which the woman rolled her eyes, she had been given directions and pointed down a hall.
Feeling quite a bit less confident after the encounter, she had walked down the hall as directed, wishing she had her heels. Part of being petite made height a confidence boost, as if it put her on a level field with everyone else. She rounded a corner in time to see the part of the confrontation; a large man who looked a bit scary had just pushed a smaller bald man, only to have the larger man drop to the floor writhing in apparent pain.
Jaxon’s eyes widened as she stared at the scene, gripping the strap of her backpack, moving to the side as the people cleared the room, a few of them rushing past her. Swallowing, she looked over her shoulder, wondering if she should be leaving too, but the directions she had been given had led her here, so she shouldn’t get in trouble even if she was a bit turned around. And besides, the big guy did seem to deserve it, whatever it was, after pushing the other man as harshly as he had.
“um… Excuse me?” Taking a small step into the room, she looked around briefly, this hadn't been in the directions, then back at the pair, one on the floor while the other watched. “I'm looking for the practice room, and I… I think I’m lost?” Though it was a statement, it came out as a question, unsure if anyone in here would be willing to help her. If not she could just turn around...
The fat man wasn't so jolly. Garrett watched as his body shook and quivered like a tightly strung wire. Big Boy's eyes would not release their grip from the stricken hand. The intensity of the stare was enough that Garrett wondered if it wouldn't just pop off and go running down the hall, a la Thing. Hairless ridges arced where eyebrows would in anticipation of such an event. Fortunately for the subject, Garrett's attention was drawn to a lovely young woman who walked in through the golden doors.
His eyes diverted back to Big Boy, the lance of pain removed from the man's hand, who promptly went down on his haunches and blubbered. Garrett stood upright and pulled a handkerchief to wipe away any fluids the human may have left on his person. She seemed startled by the event. Garrett's countenance wrinkled slightly. Not for the young lady's dismay nor for the heap of flesh at his feet. He was miffed with the idea that he let such an event occur where others could see. While it was no slight for him, the idea was to spin public relations. This would be a fine opportunity.
He knelt once more and whispered to the fat man."...i want you to gather yourself and go get your belongings. Make a scene and I'll put that pain somewhere you won't soon forget." The man's eyes widened as he jerked himself up, apologizing and scooting along. Garrett stood and stepped toward the girl." Pardon the little misunderstanding. I think we are on better terms now." His arm outstretched to the new arrival, as it would to many others. " I'm Garrett Wills. Welcome to the Sanctuary. And you are?" The hand remained suspended in anticipation of a warm greeting.
Aura has just left the training room, her clothing, a simple black sweater and pants were torn in several places whare she had just been a hair to late with her exercises. The brown haired teenager ignored the few shallow cuts she really had, they were hardly enough to put a band aide on in her opinion. Her hair was tied back with a silk blue ribben and her face was wet with sweat, which was still dripping from her hair in a few places. She was surprised by the time of day, it seemed she had lost track of a lot of time while she had been having her fun. When she enterd the Foyer she saw the man shove Seizure, she did not know him personally but it was hard not to have heard of him, more so now since he had become a spokesmen for the sanctuary. Reflexively her aura flared to it's pink light turning solid as it formed a blade, but it turned out her aide was entirely unneeded
Her eyes looked over the girl as she enterd inton the mix, Aura smiled a bit, the girl seemed a bit surprised by the altercation in the lobby, but Aura knew these residents, they were humans, and so deserved the respect they were getting. They were simply lucky Aura had not been asked to take the trash out, she really did need a new leg for her bed, it was a bit wobbly Still the girl was attractive enough in Aura's eyes. As the man introduced himself as Garrett aura stepped into view from the far side of the room "Some people just react poorly to moving day" She said shaking her head, the smile on her face revealing her true feelings on them. "I hope i am not intruding" She said as Seizure moved to greet the girl who had just come in. Aura ran a hand through her long brown locks as she walked a bit closer. "I am Aura, i do not think i have met either of you" She said looking between them, her eyes looked over the room she half expected some of the humans to still be in the room, she did so enjoy shredding them.
Jaxon was surprised that when the larger man was released he started cry, almost drooling while snot ran down his face. Unintentionally her face formed a disgusted expression at the display of fluids and she didn't dare look anywhere else, half afraid to see other bodily functions that she would rather not.
When the man who had caused this seemed to notice her, he spoke in a low voice that she couldn't catch, making the pseudo tough-guy crawl away before he left the room as quickly as possible. A pink light seemed to suddenly form in her peripheral vision, but just as Jax was about to look, the bald man pulled something from his pocket. Watching him a bit warily, Jax was pleasantly surprised when he used a handkerchief to wipe his hands, not many people under forty still used them, and it was something she generally liked more than tissues.
Then the man, Garrett, was moving to shake her hand. Automatically, in a move that had been taught to her since birth, she reached up and reciprocated the greeting without a thought. It was only a split second later, after her skin was touching his, that she realized he might be attempting to work the same treatment on her that had been given to the man.
A bit cautious of him, she still managed a friendly, if not as bright as usual, smile when she spoke. "Well... I hope I never misunderstand you..." She gave a little laugh, hoping to lighten the mood slightly. "Jaxon Kane." Then she hesitated, about to say 'nice to meet you' but she was unsure how that sort of comment would go after the situation she had walked in on.
The pink light had apparently come from another girl, who looked fresh from an intense workout... though the word fresh wasn't quite right, since the girl was gleaming and dripping perspiration. Pulling away from Garrett after a moment, Jaxon blinked in a bit of confusion. "Moving day?"
With another slightly crooked smile, almost apologetic, she shrugged. "Aura... I hope you don't mind if I don't shake you hand, but..." She politely left the rest unsaid, not even sure how she could politely say 'please don't get sweat on me, I don't know you that well'. Jaxon looked around, trying to decide if 'Moving Day' was the wrong time to give her a tour. "A friend told me that mutants could come here? I was hoping to get a look around, but if you guys are moving I can come back..."
As he had stood to meet the young lady, Garrett was aware of a pink light in his peripheral, one that marked the presence of Aura, in all her violent glory. She was one to decapitate first and ask questions later, so he put her in the 'Handle with Care' category like Isabel. There were many violent personalities here at the Sanctuary, but it was both understood and sympathized by Garrett. When a world rejected you because you are different, there were two options. Conform or control. Those of the Order variety chose the latter every time.
The hand extended was embraced by the beauty's, who went by the name of Jaxon Kane. The name sparked in Garrett's mind, as he had read of the family and their business in the Times. Garrett wasn't one for the boob tube, preferring the stability and lack of zing that the newspaper brought. It was still censored and edited, but not to the extent of the byte frenzy that was television. Her hand was warm and manicured. Her neural pathways began writing themselves over her form as Garrett let her hand slip.
She seemed to make light of the situation. Garrett found this satisfying, as she wasn't the squeamish type. That type wouldn't generally make it too far there at the Sanctuary. " I doubt you would be the type to resort to brute strength should we have a misunderstanding. I am usually quite calm about things." He noticed Aura was soaked in sweat, no doubt from training. She was fond of the training room and, judging from the look she was giving Jaxon, females too. It made little difference to Garrett. After Maya, he had decided to put the idea of love and romance on the shelf, preferring to focus on his work instead.
"A friend told me that mutants could come here? I was hoping to get a look around, but if you guys are moving I can come back..." Garrett realized he had one of his own before him and all rigidity melted away." Your friend was quite right. The Sanctuary is a place for mutants to come and train and learn about their gifts away from the likes of humans, who generally fear what they don't understand. Think cave monkey." He allowed a small chuckle as he straightened the small table he had been shoved into." Today is a fine day for a tour. The ones moving are the humans that had remained here. We can hardly proceed forward as a community of like minded individuals with them here. Nonetheless, if you would like a tour, I would be happy to assist you or answer any questions you may have." His eyes floated over the human cattle as they made their own way out.
((OOC: Aura, I hope you don’t mind, but I said you joined Seizure and I, instead of being across the room. I can change it if you don't like it. Things should fix themselves once we start posting in order, lol.))
Though she didn’t see the overt expression of recognition, Jaxon could tell he recognized the name. The fact that he didn’t immediately start sucking up raised her opinion of him; people who did that always wanted something and couldn’t be trusted, a grade school lesson she had learned well. Shaking her head, she laughed, her voice teasing. “Are you saying you think I’m weak?” For a moment, her eyes almost dared him to say so. Then, with a quirk of her mouth, she gave up the façade and shrugged, having come to terms with her size a while ago, despite her efforts with heels. “Yeah, I’m pocket-sized… I prefer to conduct my fights with other weapons.”
By now Aura had joined the little group, and Jaxon shifted slightly so that she was included in the conversation, rather than making her feel like a third wheel. Garrett seemed to become more friendly, not as stiff and formal, as the conversation progressed, but Jax couldn’t quite tell what had triggered it.
Though she was pretty sure he was saying that humans looked at mutants the way they looked at cave monkeys, Jax wasn’t sure how to respond to it, so she focused on the rest of his words. Occasionally, while she spoke, she would look from one to the other to speak to both of them. “Oh, the Sanctuary becoming solely for mutants now? That makes sense…” Jaxon had always wondered about that.
After all, there were plenty of resources for homeless humans, but only two that she knew of for mutants. And she wasn’t sure how much she could trust a non-mutant to keep her secret and not sell it to the media, so she would have been a little uncomfortable coming here regularly. “I would love a tour. I’m new at being a mutant, and I’ve had a few…” Accidents wasn’t the right word, and she paused, “mishaps with my powers. It was brought to my attention that I could get some help with that.”
Waking up to demons stalking her bedroom was getting really old, really fast. It was getting to the point that Jaxon was almost afraid to sleep, and it was affecting her on multiple levels.
She nodded to Jaxon's comment she really did not like to shake hands herself, you never knew what someone could slip into their hands. Aura smiled as Garrett compared humans to a cave monkey, she believed he was right, Humans were much like monkeys, inferior and lacking in the right to rule the planet. Humans were the inferior competitors to the mutant race, the losing side, one that Aura hoped to see go extinct. Nodding as Garrett explained the place was in deed a home for Mutants
"I am glad to see the humans go, i was developing an allergy" She commented with a smile as she watched the Human's leave, the urge to go after them was very tempting, but Aura held back, she had no use for their bones at the moment and decided killing a few humans in front of their guest, might not be the best way to say welcome. Still her eyes scanned their necks, spines and their vital organs, like a predator watching prey. Seizure had stopped the Humans from resisting easily as one might swat a fly, it was not her style, but it was effective in herding animals.
"We have all had mishaps or issues controlling our powers at some point, it's a natural learning process, that can only be perfected through practice. She wondered what the girl could do and if she would be a fun practice partner like Leila. She was sure she would meet this girl there sometimes, either way a part of her mind wanted to know what she could do in case she became a threat to her home. She would not lose this family while she still lived.
Sweeping some long stray locks of hair from her face, she let her aura flare around her fingers to ensure she got it all, before letting the aura flow back into nothingness. She was used to using her powers openly and perhaps that was what landed her in trouble much of the time, but if that were so then she would continue to enjoy her path and her never ending supply of furniture pieces. She had been somewhat surprised to find little market for such things outside of the woods. "i'll tag a long" She said as she heard about the tour, she had grown to know the place well, having walked much of it making sure she knew what she was defending, every fortress had a weak point and it's strong points.
“Are you saying you think I’m weak?” Fiery will sparked in the maiden's eyes, as if she wished to test Garrett. He immediately took to her fire. He hoped that she would visit again. "Yeah, I’m pocket-sized… I prefer to conduct my fights with other weapons.” Garrett could only imagine what those might be. He always felt excited prior to the revelation of a person's gift. He imagined that whatever they were, they were potent indeed.
Aura was speaking now about her own indifference to humanity. Garrett smirked as she spoke of them, mindfully watching as she stalked them with her eyes. It was something he had seen before, in the eyes of predators. She held herself well, exhibiting the restraint that would elevate the Order to new heights, in his humble opinion. Jaxon was speaking of mishaps with her abilities and Aura quickly reminded her of the benefits of persistence and patience. All was well.
Garrett nodded and listened to the two for a moment and then spoke himself. " I am glad you decided to come and have a look around, then, Miss Kane. Feel free to remove your wordly mask and enjoy the scenery. We are all our true selves here. First things first, allow me to introduce you to Lisa. " He pointed to the empty receptionist desk." She must be out for coffee. Anyway, Lisa is the only human here now and will remain so. She has worked for the Sanctuary for a long time, much longer than my own. Respect to Lisa is respect to the Sanctuary." He craved a cappuccino himself.
As the three formed up to begin walking, Garrett moved in a bit closer to Jaxon. Not close enough to warrant anxiety, but close enough to make a more intimate conversation. As intimate as a public tour among others can be. "I was wondering if I could ask two things of you before we continue. First, your gift. While we aren't the typical show and tell types, having just ousted the humans it would be foolish to accept a new arrival without proof of genetic superiority. Secondly, who is this friend of yours who pointed you in our direction?"
Unaware of the undercurrents of hostility towards the humans that were leaving, Jax laughed lightly at the idea of being allergic to people. Imagine being able to make an annoying person suddenly incapable of being in your presence… That would be useful. “Practice is exactly what I need, but this is New York. You can’t be alone in this city if you try.” And Jax had certainly tried; from the parking garage, to the alley, to Central Park, and various areas in between, she always seemed to run into people.
Jaxon’s head tilted when Aura used her power, the pink light appearing and becoming somehow making her hair go back into place, and she couldn’t help but be impressed. Not only by the open use of her powers but also by the control. It was the first non-physical power she had seen besides her own, and it was somewhat amazing to see.
Garrett’s speech about the receptionist was unneeded, Jax knew well enough that certain people were not to be bothered, food service staff and receptionists among them, but she understood where he was coming from.
Soon they were moving, walking through the building together. Garrett suddenly seemed to be right next to her, and though he wasn’t bothering her, she was at first surprised to find him so close. When he spoke in a low voice, she leaned slightly closer, his nearness explained by his tone.
Nodding, Jaxon’s eyes widened and she looked at him. That hadn’t been what she expected him to ask her. “I am pretty sure I summon demons. I will show you…” I won’t like it, but I’ll do it… Jaxon was still very uncomfortable with her powers, but she could do it. His last question was the simplest and it made her smile. “Well, I’ve heard good things about this place from a few people, but Venus invited me to come here and practice my powers when I met him at the Valentines ball.”
Looking around, she added, “Do you want me to do it right here…?” Assuming yes, she took a few steps away from Aura and Garrett with a small movement for them to stay there, while picking what she was going to try. After a momentary hesitation, she picked a basketball sized creature that wouldn’t be able to destroy walls or anything.
Concentrating, she had to control the flow of power to an appropriate level. The problem was never using her powers, it was making sure they didn’t burst through the dams she had made and overwhelm her. So when she felt a small trickle, she reached for a spidery creature she had seen before. It was small, but it’s appearance was one of the more interesting, and in Jaxon’s mind, slightly more impressive than some of the shapeless blobs of goo.
Opening her eyes when she felt it begin to form, she saw the wisp like outline slowly fill, becoming less and less insubstantial. Speaking to her guides she quickly warned them. “You might want to watch yourselves…” The creature was looking around in a bit of confusion and curiosity, glaring at the three people around it as it backed towards a wall. For a brief moment it teetered on the brink of reality, before falling over and becoming completely solid. Then like the spiders it resembled, it crawled up the wall, making Jaxon take a small step back. "I hope that is good enough. I can make bigger ones but... They are harder and meaner."
She tended to forget that Lisa was human herself, she liked to see what others could do, so she knew what to expect in battile either with or against them. Knowing such things kept one alive and prepared. She agreed with Jaxon New York made it very tough to be alone and Aura believed their were far to many people in one place here, she was much more used to the woods and the simplicity it offered. She had seen Venus at the ball herself but had never talked to him, she had not stayed long and had eventually just went home from the crowded ball.
She watched as Jaxon concentrated intently, she did have to wonder just how much control she had over the Demons she had mentioned. She wondered just what she meant by that though, Demons could mean so many things. As the warning was given Aura's aura flowed into view she did not harden it yet, but she felt it was best to be prepared in case she did lose control somehow. A warning normally had a reason behind it which she began to understand as the creature started to come into view
Aura had to agree on needing proof of being a mutant, if they did not have at least that then spy's could get in much more easily and well it just made the place less inviting to many mutants, as many were trying to get away from them. So keeping them out was good for both as Aura knew certin Mutants enjoyed being creative with humans.
The womans power was beautiful in it's own right, she seemed to be able to pull creatures from some other realm or maybe her mind. Either way she looked at the new creature like one might a puppy. "It is a lovely power" Aura remarked as she watched the creature, wondering what other minions Jaxon could pull from wherever it was she got them. "Can you pull more then one?" she asked curiously as she continued to watch the creature.
Aura also wondered what the girl could pull from the realm once she had practice, she was happy the girl said she could pull bigger and more ill tempered creatures to. It meant the girl could have a bit of verity in her attacks, still if someone got past the creature she wondered how well Jaxon could hold her own. She kept her Aura up as the stood there but she did not feel the creature could cause her to much harm to her.
Jaxon seemed to exude the kind of confidence which was bred, not learned. Garrett had felt the same presence among his peers at the Sanctuary, as it had occurred to those there to claim their genetic birthrights as the overseers of humanity. Her mention of the lack of alone time in New York was understandable to a point. He assumed that it had more to do with her family's social status. He recalled being penniless and homeless. People were more than happy to leave him alone.
Garrett's ridges formed their Vulcan-like point at the mention of Miss Kane's gift. Demons. A wry grin passed over his features. A formidable gift indeed. One best used for the Order's benefit. " Demons, huh? I can summon one too, under the right circumstances." A small chuckle escaped his lips. She then mentioned that it was one of the clones that had led her here. The fact that it was Venus was no breaking news to Garrett, as a beautiful woman full of confidence was just the type for the polyamorous splinter. " Ah, yes. One of the clones. Abyss' word is solid gold here. Pardon my questioning. You can never tell these days when a spy is going to pop up."
Garrett watched with a childlike fascination as the many legged creature was spawned. The process of its appearance was quite astounding, as it slowly came into view, its substance growing more solid by the second. Once its hold in the current realm of existence took hold, the sound of its spidery legs tapping on the floor and then the wall echoed and skittered through the hall."color=teal]I hope that is good enough. I can make bigger ones but... They are harder and meaner.[/color]" Garrett could only imagine the realm of nightmares that could be summoned by the young lady before him.
He noticed Aura's shared fascination with the display, also curious about the extents of the power before him. However, hallways and public areas were not the proper setting for such a creature, if one existed at all. " As interested as I am in seeing the development of such a gift, I believe the mosdt important question concerns the dismissal of the creatures. Is that also possible? I believe the public areas aren't best suited should an accident occur."
Aura thought it was lovely… Jaxon was getting that a lot lately, though she didn’t quite agree. Pushing a bit of hair behind her ear she watched it click it’s teeth together. “That's what Isabel said too.. I think I’ve gotten up to four little ones, but sometimes it can be hard to count. I can only get one big one, but it was really big last time, so…” She shrugged, thinking of the Thunder Dome, and the strange dinosaur that had appeared. Shuddering lightly at the thought of it, Jax gave Garrett an odd look.
“You can do this too?” Though she couldn’t keep the surprise out of her voice, she was aware of how naive it had just made her sound, she was able to keep the minor desperation out. Jaxon was more than ready to have some control, and if he could do that same thing, then he could teach her. Her smile turned hopeful, having someone share her power would be very helpful.
Glad that Venus, and apparently Abyss was the first one that V had told her about, was an acceptable reference, Jaxon nodded. Garrett was right, she shouldn’t have done it here, but… She didn’t want them to make her leave. “Yeah, sorry… Just a second.”
She began reeling in the power, it was resisting going back behind the wall she had made, and it took more effort to make the creature start to fade. Once it was on its way it got easier, as if it couldn’t remain in the half-state and it had to keep moving in the direction of her push. Slowly it became less visible and a few moments later it was no longer discernible from the air around where it had been. It vanished without any fanfare, simply fading away.
With a sigh and a quick wipe across her forehead, hoping they didn’t notice how much effort it had taken, her brow slightly moist. The power didn’t like being cooped up in the back of her mind, that was for sure. “So… Do you think you can help me?” Jaxon peered at the two of them hopefully, half wondering what she would do if they couldn’t.
Aura kept her aura up as she continued to watch the creature like one might a kitten, it looked dangerous and the thought she could make even stronger creatures fascinated her. She also considered their use as practice material, robots were ok, but these were thinking breathing animals that could bleed. Live prey was always better, more exciting. She did not know Seizure could make a demon, she noted this for herself just in case she needed it.
As Seizure indicated the creature should go a way, Aura's aura seemed to flow a bit as it faded from view slowly. "I can take care of any acadents, but still" she said with a smile. In truth she had no idea what the girl could do, not fully and she was rather unsure how she would fare against something large. She would have to ask her .
She recalled abyss the man had looked very strong, and the idea he had clones was even more facinateing to her. Her meeting with Abyss had been about a job she had done for him, the murder of a certain family whose names escaped her. "I had no idea abyss had clones, is it apart of his power?" she asked thinking the clones might have been made from his DNA or maybe he could make more of himself.
"I can try, but others maybe better suited, my power is quite diffrent but to be honest, i would not mind a dance with that creature you made" she said curious to see how it could fight. "If they get hurt, do you feel it?" she asked starting to feel like she might be prying. So many questions, Aura closed her eyes for a second as she waited to get back to the tour.
Garrett felt a twinge of guilt over the demon joke as both women seemed to take serious note of the mention. Jaxon seemed hopeful that another might understand her problem and Aura seemed to catalog it for later use. Aura seemed to be the type to expect a fight from anyone at any time. He felt sorry for her in that regard. It had to make for a harsh world view.
He watched as the small spidery creature was wrangled by the same ethereal energy and saw it slowly fade from view. Aura assured them that she could handle any accidents, the opportunity for a fight never far from her mind. The pink shielding aura for which she was named oscillated as it washed overh er. Garrett made his own internal notes about that. The effort of summoning and banishing the small creature left a fine dew on Miss Kane's features. Control could and would be learned here, for her sake and her soon to be new family's.
“So… Do you think you can help me?” Garrett smiled slightly. " Of course we can. Let me show you where the general quarters are. There are many rooms open now and you may design your own however you wish. You will be given a key to ensure your privacy. Only the administration has copies in case of emergency. There are other things to show you as well, so I will leave you two to talk as I go get some paperwork." With that, he left the two ladies alone briefly so he could fetch the papers from his room.
