The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Raphael watched Cecelia, and smiled slightly. He directed his gaze towards Skoliro. He chose he would give his own name when asked, and for now he would simply content himself with studying the new-comer. He guessed at his mutation, the obvious was easy to pick out. A cross of a man and a bat. And given how he looked about, he assumed that the other man could see, that or he was quite the adept at echo-location. As for anything other than the skin deep that he could see, Raphael chose not to guess. Most of the time, mutations had come up early in conversation anyways, so he would not need to wonder for long... likely.
Skoliro could tell by the way the man was looking at him that he was trying to figure his mutation. All he had to do is ask. SKoliro turned and looked at him.
Well, as you can see I'm part bat. And I speak with all nocturnal beings. Just for those who were wondering.

Cecelia blushed when she felt his lips against her skin. She was a bit taken back by the wings but she thought they also looked pretty cool. She looked at Raphael then back to Skoliro. She could see how the light complimented his hair and eyes. His form was nice and his wings were so broad. He was also someone she knew she'd have to sketch. She expected that a bunch of the mutants in the mansion would have one or more aspects in which Cecelia would want to sketch.
He nodded towards Skoliro. More than meets the eye then. Like a good deal of those here. Most of the time there, at least in his experience, was more to a person than what was seen on the outside. And he felt that was true with their new 'friend'. Likely of 'noble' birth just like him, only more recently removed, given his already noticable habits. You just did not see many people who walked up and kissed a woman's hand. He also guessed that he was likely younger than himself, by a year or so... and certainly not bashful about his appearance. He gave a slight shrug with a nod. "Could be quite a useful ability." He could feel himself sliding, almost unconsciously closer to Cecelia. Likely a leftover effect from her song, though it could also be something else.

She looked at Raphael and nodded at his comment of Skolio's ability. Looking back at Skolio, she gave him a bright smile. "Indeed. There are many things your skills could help with." She also happened to notice Raphael moving closer by just a little. She was a bit perplexed at this. Why was he moving closer?
He nodded. "The ability to communicate with animals of any kind means allies and friends no matter where you go... and flight is always a perk." He would have to ask this man if he sparred a little later. Battling an opponent who could fly would be an interesting challenge. He had once battled with a foe who spent the majority of his time on the walls of the cage, but that was different. That man had merely been nearly as acrobatic as he could be. He looked at Cecelia, then back to Skoliro. He did not feel as threatened as he had when Lee had confronted him and Victoria on the stairs, but something still picked at his insides. He however settled for putting a pleasant smile towards him.

Cecelia nodded. "Yeah, I've always wondered what it would be like to talk to animals. I would have loved to talk to my kitten back home. I hope she's being taken care of." Cecelia said, thinking of the newborn kitten she had gotten for her eighteenth birthday. She had named the kitten Juliet and even as she grew, Juliet was a petite cat. Pushing her thoughts back, she returned to the real world and looked at Skolio then Raphael. Something about Raphael was different. He was still moving closer to her but Cecelia decided to ignore the fact.
He nodded again, and then shook himself internally. What exactly was he doing? Skoliro was being perfectly polite to them. Unlike Lee, he was likely just overreacting. He then took a step away from Cecelia, finding himself having moved closer than intended. Besides... there was still Victoria to think of, right? He maintained his smile as thoughts ran through his mind. "Do you use echo-location same as a bat?" He presented the question to Skoliro.
He likely needed to sleep, possibly soon as well. He felt tired inside, the refreshing of Cecelia's initial hum wearing off. He had had alot of shocks in a single day when Whitmore attacked, and while he felt physically charged, and certainly was physically fit to go for another day, his psyche certainly had not quite recovered from it, and it was that that was tired. He shook himself internally again.
His British accent was starting to lessen, what a relief. He looked back at the girl. He examined her a little closer and figured her to be about 3 or 4 years older then her. He remembered the comment about the kitten.
I've never spoken to any kittens, as I said I can only speak to full nocturnal beings. As far as I know, that is. Though I have spoken to some really interesting creatures, creatures you could never imagine.
He noticed that she was holing a sketch pad.
You sketch? I could ask some of my chaps to come visit you, if you want.
Raphael watched the other man turn and fly off, then looked over at Cecelia. "Lest there be anything else, I think I should be off as well. Remember, tomorrow, 2 o'clock. Itsa date." He cast a small grin, even if it were slightly forced, her way.

Cecelia waved to Skolio as he flew away then turned her attention to Raphael. She smiled and nodded. "Yeah. It's a date. I guess I'll go find my room now. Ciao!" Cecelia waved and slowly started walking backwards, then she slowly turned to walk straight for the mansion doors.
