The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She blushed when she saw his eyes look her over. She looked down at her hands to hide her blush behind her hair. When he then asked about her age, she lifted her gaze to him and started hoping he wasn't thinking she was too young to learn defense. "I'm 19. Why do you ask?"
"Miss Tricity mentioned an age limit on the Danger Room... though both of us break that limit, so there won't be any problem practicing there... unless you've seen a better place on the mansion grounds." He stated simply, watching her, and making a small mental note about the blush she quickly hid, a mental note that brought a smile out onto his face. "2 O'clock or so in the danger room?" He asked.

"Okay. That fine with me." She answered, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She imagined having lessons in the Danger Room and kind shivered in her head. She decided she would try her best and if she didn't cut it in the Danger Room, they'd move lessons outside. She was just starting to use her powers for anything other than entertainment and relaxation.
"Good," He said quietly, smiling. This would certainly be entertaining, and refreshing. He had spent so much time using his abilities to harm others, and now he was going to pass one set of them on to someone older than himself... and somone purer than himself who would use them for recreation and self defense. A strong opposite to what he had used them for. And most certainly not something he minded at all. And besides, his teaching her might almost certainly allow him to hear her singing voice once more. "Itsa date then. I look forward to it."

"Great! This will be so much fun!" Cecelia said, laughing just a little. She then turned and grabbed her sketch pad. She looked at her picture of the fountain then flipped to the last page. She wrote down the lesson time and place in one of the corner's and circled it. "There, now I won't forget."
He gave a small smile at her enthusiasm, and decided immediately that he would not teach her the same way he was taught. A school of hard-knocks at times. He learned the basics while at home, a gentler method of teaching had been used then. But after he had run off he had learned a great deal more about melee combat in general, and several of these things he intended to at least attempt to pass on to Cecelia... in a gentler way than he had learned them.
"You sketch?" He asked, catching only but a brief glance at the page before she flipped to jot down the time and place. "An artist as well as an accomplished vocalist, eh?" He gave a smile, one that looked quite genuine, and most likely was.

Flipping through her sketch book a little more, she nodded. "I love sketching. It's been a passion of mine since I was very little." She blushed at the compliment and went back to flipping through some pages. She stopped at a sketch of a little kitten. She grabbed her pencil and did a little detail. She shaded in the eyes and added a little more fur to the tail.
Raphael nodded again. "A passion well developed. May I have a closer look at some of your sketches?" He had always had a certain enjoyment for true art. Or atleast what he saw as true art. Sketches, and works towards a certain perfection, be it a cartoonists' perfection or a photo realist's perfection, someone who honed more than just their BSing skills. And he felt that Cecelia would certainly fall into the former category of artists, rather than the latter.
That and, he wanted to know a whee bit more about his future student. And figured seeing her artwork might help with that.

"Sure. Look all you want." She handed her sketch book over to him. The sketches were mostly Italian landscapes, some Greek Gods/Goddesses, and some little animals from her family farm. While he looked through her book, she twirled her pencil around her fingers. She looked at the pictures with him, smiling at some of her better works and making mental notes to redraw some of her not so good pieces.
Raphael took the sketchbook gingerly. He slowly flipped through the sketch book, spending more time looking over the landscapes than anything else. "Are these of your home?" He would ask, and occassionaly the same sort of question about some of the animals. "These are all really good Cecelia." He murmured, and handed the sketchbook back. "Any other hidden talents?"

"Yeah. That's my father's farm on Sicily. We had a lot of land so I would usually go out on horseback and sketch. The animals were either found on the farm or I saw them when I was visiting Rome." She said, sticking her pencil behind her right ear. "Hidden talents? Um, well besides singing, sketching, and horseback riding, I cook and sew. I also do a little dancing but that's about it."
Raphael watched her, nodding in time to each of her talents. A dancer could make an easy transition to a martial art. At times, it could certainly even be considered a dance. He would do his best to teach her as such. "Is that how you keep your current slim figure?" He asked, in reference to her dancing talent.

She paused and nodded. "Yeah. I guess so. Hey, do you have any non-mutant talents?" She asked, looking over at him and smiled. While she was talking, her slipped off her heels and pointed her feet, making a smooth arch with her foot.
"Nothing quite as fancy as your's." He stated, then slid down some so he could comfortably stare at the sky as he spoke. "I know the martial arts styles I mentioned earlier... and I'm quite the acrobat when I want to be. As well as sort of the human monkey. Show me a tree I can't climb bare handed, I can certainly tackle it with a little mutation help... as well as fencing." He considered for a moment. Those were at least his more peaceful talents. He neglected to mention that he could, to an extent, turn his emotions off... among other things that made his life as a cage fighter easier. "Oh... amd cooking... it comes in handy when living alone.."

"Fencing? Wow. And true, cooking is a need for one who lives alone." She laughed and took her sketch book back and flipping to a new page. She grabbed her pencil and started to make a few long lines. At first the picture didn't seem to be anything but after some more detail and marks were made, the picture took the form of Raphael's profile. "You have a wonderful profile, if I may say so myself."
