The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He gave a nod to her 'fencing?', and her short laugh made him smile. He then let his head tilt forward so he was looking straight ahead, and giving her a perfect profile. He remained quiet for a moment, then a hint of a blush hit his cheeks as she commented on his profile. "I'm going to assume that is a good thing." He said with a small smile, though otherwise he remained nearly motionless, so she could continue to sketch him.

She smiled and continued to sketch. She shaded in his eyes and even put in the light shade of his blush. She finished the basic sketch then just went back to shading. "Okay, you can relax and yes, having a good profile is a very good thing. It means that your straight-on face is also very good. You're very photogenic and an excellent model."
Raphael nodded a little bit, relaxing his shoulders and facial features, no longer holding motionless. "Really think so?" He knew he was attractive... hell, he had had plenty of... offers... before, though most of those had come from the crowds of women who liked watching two men beat eachother up almost as much as Benny had enjoyed how it made him money. Not that he had taken any of the offers up, even now, after so he had caused quite so much violence in this world. He was certainly not pure, in any other means than sexual. "Not sure I'd be all tha' cut out fer modeling."

"Well, I think you are a very good model. I'm going to have to sketch you more often." Cecelia said, putting her signature at the bottom of the picture. The shading was finished and the picture looked really good. She looked at it then showed it to him. "Like it?"
Raphael gave his silent nod of approval. "My spitting image." He said, with a nod. "Thank you for your kind words Cecelia... I've never been a model before... suggestions?" He asked, with genuine interest, though he did not expect he would be modeling for anyone but her. At least, in the immediate.

"Well, you could volunteer at local art classes or colleges to be a model for sculpting or drawing. You could do that and I'll have you model for me and then, you never know...some of those pieces of art could become famous, making your name well-known." She suggested, closing her sketch pad and setting it down beside her. She put her pencil back behind her right ear and then pulled all of her hair back, keeping it off of her shoulders.
In certain circles his name, or rather 'codename' was well known. "I am... kinda famous in certain areas." He stated, meaning two different things at once. Most people who are rich, are generally not at least a little bit of a local celebrity. And back in the small town of Bedford Virginia... he and his family were local celebs. "Don't think I could get up infront of a large group of people for that sorta thing though." He had killed infront of a large group of people, why did the thought of standing infront of an art class just to be sketched put butterflies into his stomach? Likely the hint of failure that lingered in his mind. "Think I could handle being your model." He said, not entirely meaning it in the flirtatious context it came out as.

She laughed and blushed a little, hearing the slight flirty tone in her voice. "Well, maybe you could work your way up because the more people you model for, the more art forms you can conquer. You can start with just me, then work your way up if you're nervous."
He nodded some, along with a smile. It would seem he found her personality hypnotizing as well as her songs. He thought for a moment, he could teach her to fight, elegantly, just as she could teach him... other certain social things that he had all but forgotten in his time away from his 'classy' home. And coach him about modeling. Even if he did not intend to move past modeling just for her. "So then, wha's your first... erm... dunno even what it's called."

Not understanding what he was trying to say, she shrugged. "I'm not quite sure I know what you mean..." She tapped her fingers on her lap, her newly manicured nails shimmering in the sunlight. Her nails were a pearly white with little flowers on the tips.
He shrugged some, realizing he did not even know what he wanted to say anyways. Something about modeling, and how to start for her, or something along those lines. He just did not know how to get it out into verbal form. Such things were typically not his forte anyways. "Have you done landscape sketches around here? other than the fountain... of course..." He asked, looking over at her, then following her gaze to her nails. He never did quite understand why someone chose to have such things done to their nails, though it did not stop him from saying. "Nice nails."

"No, I haven't gone around enough to sketch any other lascapes but I'm sure I'll get some." She said, making a list of some of the landscapes she knew she wanted to sketch. The front of the mansion, the garden, and the front gate. When she heard him compliment her nails, she looked at them and smiled. "Thank you. I rarely ever get them done but before I came, I thought I'd have a little fun."
Not exactly what he would consider 'fun'... but then again, males and females were opposite ends of the spectrum. "I'd say avoid the front of the mansion fer awhile... even takes mutants a little bit of time to conduct repairs... the gardens are beautiful, and I don't think anything happened to them." He stated, with a knowing nod. He knew the mazes of the gardens well, and had used them to keep he and Victoria hidden when the attack had begun. He had not however been back there since. He stretched some, then reached back and pulled the band on his ponytail off, letting his hair down for a little bit. The breeze made it nice enough that he did not mind having his neck covered by hair.

She made a mental note about the front of the mansion. She watched him take his hair down and made another mental note to sketch him with his hair down. After a few moments of awkward silence, Cecelia turned to look at him, moving her legs to rest beside her. "So how did you find out about your powers and end up here?"
"Almost killed my brother, sent to boarding school, ran away, lived alone, ended up here." He said quickly. The only thing he really regretted ever about having hurt someone, was hurting his brother. "Essentially... I've always healed faster than other kids... and, the soul-seein' I learned about when trying to see in the dark."
He took a deep breath. "My parents aren't exactly mutant friendly. But it would also have looked bad to them to just flat out disown me.. so when the most obvious of my mutations became apparent, in quite a violent manner, they had me checked out. Tested, and when the doc said I couldn't be cured, shipped to a boarding school to be forgotten while I 'furthered my education'. I ran away from there, ended up living on the streets, and even less reputable places in New York before catching wind of a 'safe haven' for mutants. And that's the long version of how I ended up here."
