The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Pluto found several patterns that went from accurate to down right obscene. His searches lead him through many possibilities. Finally however he settled on something that was accurate. He would have to get her measurements. Maybe he would go on a raid of her room to find something that would give him an idea of the size he needed to make.
Mars stepped out of Lori’s closet as she crossed the room to the bathroom. Interesting. He walked over to the entrance way and leaned on the frame. He watched intently as she brushed her teeth. It was almost epic to see the war the liquid had with her genetic make up. No wonder they all fried when she got her feet wet in the milk.
He watched on internally amused, not letting it escape to his features lest she try to brush his teeth in the same electric manner. he finally asked. “Did it go well?”
The red brute looked quite comfortable in her room. Almost too comfortable.
What had she gotten herself into? This was the problem with living in one place with the same people. She was going to have to actually read that stupid big eyed comic books now so that she wouldn't make an outright moron out of herself. Oh wait. She scrubbed those teeth harder if possible. Too late.
She realized someone big and red was standing in her door frame and she thought she might have been unraveled. She pointed at Mars with the foamy business end of the toothbrush and her mouth sparked mostly around the teeth as she spoke. "If you think I'm getting into one of those stupid skirts--!"
But wait. He looked calm... far too calm and almost happy. Right at home some might say. Lori turned and spat into the sink in a manor that told of what she thought about that.
“Did it go well?”
"Your brothers have some interesting ... habits." She spit again. Debated rising, but figured she'd done enough damage for now. She shuddered. Cosplay. Had she really sunk so low? "I need a drink." Formerly that would have been 'I need a smoke.' but she's was kicking one bad habit at a time. Lori turned innocent blues to Mars. Perhaps a cuddle would do in it's place. "I don't think Jup is mad at me anymore at least."
Well, it was a start. Two steps forward, one step into the bizarre.
"If you think I'm getting into one of those stupid skirts--!"
His eye brows raised in a question but then subsided as she changed her tone.
"Your brothers have some interesting ... habits.”
“You don’t have to tell me that. believe me, I know all too well.”
"I need a drink" “I don't think Jup is mad at me anymore at least."
“hmmm, I would say things went well, then. I honestly half expected you to tap the sanctuary and cause a black out before you’d get onto his good side. Though with that in mind, perhaps, you’re liver doesn’t need a drink. I only know one way to say sorry to him that works and it comes bottled.”
Mars realized that he was playing his hand way too fast earlier. His lack of companionship lately was probably the cause, that and his faulty decision to make the baby comments earlier.
“ Come, relax with me, I am sure you have earned the rest of the sleep that you were getting before I interrupted it.”
Mars gave her, her space and plopped down on the bed and rolled across to his side. He wouldn’t bother telling her it was his side. But it was. Just because it happened to be the side that she wasn’t on originally had nothing to do with it.
“ If you’d rather talk, we can do that as well. As usual I am open to hearing what your intriguing mind has to say.”
“hmmm, I would say things went well, then." "For the most part." Lori turned around and ran the bristles underneath the water and took her time re-preparing for bed. She probably should have left the persuasion until later, but she thought the quicker she attended to her problems, the less they would fester. "I honestly half expected you to tap the sanctuary and cause a black out before you’d get onto his good side. Though with that in mind, perhaps, you’re liver doesn’t need a drink. I only know one way to say sorry to him that works and it comes bottled.”
Lori sighed. If it had come down to a fight between herself and Jupiter, she wouldn't be sure either would come out without some kind of wicked battle scars. Something she imagined Jupiter would enjoy more than she would. Augh. Why did Mars have to make sense? Stupid logic. Stupid liver. Stupid boys.
“Come, relax with me, I am sure you have earned the rest of the sleep that you were getting before I interrupted it.”
Mars went away and Lori tossed her toothbrush a bit to hard. It clattered against the sink. Lori frowned and stuck her finger in the socket as far as it would go. The lights flickered and she pulled her fingers back trailing only a thin stream of electricity which broke as soon as she pulled her hand too far away.
“If you’d rather talk, we can do that as well. As usual I am open to hearing what your intriguing mind has to say.”
Lori frowned at her reflection. "Sorry, Lori's intriguing mind is on vacation. If you'd like to leave a message, state your name and number after the beep." She pulled her ponytail out of its holder and re tied it so that it was still high and bouncy by the time she peeked out from the bathroom. "I think I'm in deep with Pluto if that makes you feel any better." She loitered by the door wondering what was the easiest way to oust a big, comfortable red man out of one's bed. Lori liked cuddling and all that, but if she was ever going to sleep... she didn't trust people, even cuddly red ones, for sleeping.
"Sorry, Lori's intriguing mind is on vacation. If you'd like to leave a message, state your name and number after the beep."
Mars mumbled “ Mars, 546-555-9898,Call me. Click”
"I think I'm in deep with Pluto if that makes you feel any better."
“huh, Came out fine with An Angry Jupiter, but you are in deep with Pluto? What did you do to him?” He glanced around the room and saw nothing of interest or particularly Plutoish in the room.
“You have turned the world upside down, Pluto is one of the hardest to provoke an actual wraith out of, I don’t remember the last time he was actually angry with anyone. And I would be wary of Jupiter for a bit yet, Just precautionary for the most part of course. All and all though it doesn’t make me feel any better, I am actually a bit sorry for you, at least with Jupiter it would have only gone so far.”
Mars smiled at Lori standing by the door, had he outstayed his welcome already? Perhaps so. Mars sat up, not too sure if that was definitely what she wanted or if she was reacting to their conversation, But either way he wouldn’t impose if that was what she wanted.
“...What did you do to him?” "I'm not entirely sure I did anything initially, but whatever it was I probably exacerbated the problem. Maybe he was mad that I didn't like his things, who knows?"
Lori tried and failed at loitering by the bathroom door. It was too damn cold to stay out of the sheets. Especially sheets warmed by her own personal heat engine. Lori pulled up her socks and begrudgingly crawled into bed.
“You have turned the world upside down, Pluto is one of the hardest to provoke an actual wrath out of, I don’t remember the last time he was actually angry with anyone." "What can I say? I just bring out the best in everybody." Icy cold fingers went right for red warm flesh. She wasn't only a charge leech. Today, she was a heat leech too.
"All and all though it doesn’t make me feel any better, I am actually a bit sorry for you, at least with Jupiter it would have only gone so far.” "So, where Pluto is concerned, once he pops the fun don't stop? Heh. Great." She cuddled up close, distributed sheets and comforter evenly and wondered if she could let herself sleep with Mars nearby. Her door handle was broken thanks to him. Maybe it would be safer. Maybe less safe. It was hard to decide.
"I'm not entirely sure I did anything initially, but whatever it was I probably exacerbated the problem. Maybe he was mad that I didn't like his things, who knows?"
“Sounds probable, It all depends on how much you disliked them I suppose.”
"What can I say? I just bring out the best in everybody.” "So, where Pluto is concerned, once he pops the fun don't stop? Heh. Great."
“We should know by the morning if he is after you or not, I don’t think it would take him long to get started at all.”
Her small soft hands pressed against his chest, so he in turn rested his arm around her back, If it was only an issue of being cold than it wouldn’t be for long. Mars stifled a slight yawn and then let a pleased relaxation wash over him. If she had tried to stop his decent into sleep, he hadn’t noticed. He began much in following his suggestion to relax by dozing. It had been a long day and he had trouble staying awake. Luckily for Lori, he didn’t snore or move around much at all in his sleep. The only bothersome trait that could possibly be every so often very softly in almost a whisper he would say something now or then typically it was a fact or a studious question. but one thing was sure, he shared no reservations about sleeping near her.
“We should know by the morning if he is after you or not, I don’t think it would take him long to get started at all.”
So... that was a safer with the clone in her bed by her approximation. Would Pluto ensnare Mars as well as Lori in his revenge? Well, she was hoping he would leave Mars out of it. Or at least be unable to tell which clone was there. It could be Venus after all. In fact, she could go get Venus right now and have double the heat...
He put his arm around her and she debated what kind of maneuvers would be required to escape. He was so relaxed. Lori unabashedly inspected his red face with it's contrasting black facial hair in order to memorize the contours. If there was some difference in their faces, she was determined to see it.
Several hours later...
... and what was he doing here? Really? Beyond the dozing bit, what was he expecting of her? Fidelity? Wasn't that a steep order from someone who was stuck in his own void for a few months? Was he going to keep coming over like this? What if she wanted to entertain a guest? What was she supposed to do with big, red and cuddly here?
"You should derive the wave form...zzzzz"
Lori frowned at Mars. "Based on your earlier mumbles and assuming you're still solving for the same sinusoidal wave form, I think you'll want to integrate." Lori lay a soft kiss on Mars' chin before settling her head against his biceps. She had tried not to wriggle so that she didn't wake him and he was pretty cute to solve calculus problems in his sleep, but she just wasn't sure he was the one to settle down with... or if she was ever gonna settle down.
Lori closed her eyes and pretended to be asleep. Because sometimes pretending to be asleep was the best way to get there.
Standing up the clones could easily fill your typical doorway, But when they laid down one had to wonder if they would be bigger then your average bear. His face as he sleep seemed relaxed an calm, his forehead ever so often furrowed in concentration.
Mars rolled slightly toward his side of the bed; his hand went to push a pair of glasses up that simply wasn’t there. He mumbled something and then nodded to Lori’s Advice.
“And there you have it, a simple solution to a complex problem. “ You would all do well, to try and keep up with Miss Charge there. Charge please see me after class.” ”
After the dream math was solved he seemed to settle down even more into a calm relaxing series of breaths. His hand may or may not have found its way to charge’s hip during the night.
"Will do, boss. I mean, Professor Mars." Lori shook her head at the monkey-man in her bed, but she wasn't about to pass up an out. She tried. Really she did, but cuddly-wuddly was not in her daily schedule.
Lori grabbed her boots and clothes that looked warm from the closet. She thought about sleeping in Mars' bed since it was vacant, but then he'd find her there when she inevitably slept in. No, the best option was to leave and find solace in the streets. Who knew? Maybe she'd even find an unoccupied bed.
