The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

She wasn't sure that Juppy was going to answer her at first. He merely raised one bushy, black brow at her with an evaluating look. And then... he opened his mouth. He seemed to get rather more eloquent and open as he drank or perhaps that was her brain starting to pickle.
"...plus if I work out it preoccupies me time and I might not break some person in half that happened to get in my way."
Hint taken. When she asked if he had enough, she wasn't surprised to hear that the answer was a definite no.
“You kidding me? One bottle and we shared it. If you are done for the night, Goldie locks. I can mange on my own and you can show me those skills some more on another night... Unless that is you aren’t as much of a light weight as your cheeks are telling.”
"To be fair, the bottle was almost full when we started and this wasn't my first drink tonight. I could probably go a few more rounds, but I'd really regret it tomorrow." And who knows what would happen in the mean time? No, he was really doing her a favor by letting her off the hook. Jupiter, taking pity on Lori. My, alcohol did wonders for his personality. "The least I can do is accompany you, as if you needed the company, to the liquor store. But I'm thinking they might not let me in." She thought on this for a moment pouting all the while. "Rain check?"
She wasn't drunk as junk, but she probably wasn't going to be driving any time soon. She could probably still pass a sobriety test, though, that would be just sheer stubbornness on her part. Lori was a happy, lovey, chatty drunk and her instincts said that the drunker, happier, lovier, and chattier she got the less Jupiter would be inclined to let her go without breaking her face.
"If you still want mized drinks, I can probably work something out." She was really resisting the urge to hug him. He was so very big and cuddly. No. Yeah. That was probably the cue for a graceful exit.
Jupiter simply nodded to her statement about the drinks and being the first plenty of people felt the need to keep up. “Yeah, A rain check is fine. In fact you may eventually start hiding from me, Shouldn't show an alcoholic you mix his poison well, unless you like mixing it quite a bit."
He then shook his head toward the little blonde. “Nah, I’ll hit you up later. I have at least what it takes to get a license in experience destroying my liver, do you need help to your room, before I hit the liquor store, and people don’t tend to tell people with me they can’t go somewhere. And even if they do a disagreement from me and they change their mind.” He shrugged. She was edging from cute to sloppy, he just hopped she didn’t hit crying drunk, before he could get her to her room. You never knew with some people.
He stood up and held the bottle above his mouth upside down waiting the moment or two for the last couple of drops to hit his tongue. He was an addict and he welcomed it quite frankly. His eyes fell on his bartender and he smiled. Perhaps he wouldn’t let her drink at first or make her mix first then join him in the drinking of it.
“Shouldn't show an alcoholic you mix his poison well, unless you like mixing it quite a bit." "Who better to truly appreciate my art?" She shrugged and smiiiiiled. Really, it was just nice to be appreciated every once in a while. She didn't mind putting in the leg work to get the compliments.
“Nah, I’ll hit you up later." "I look forward to it, just... don't hit too hard." More smiling. Everyone likes smiling.
"do you need help to your room, before I hit the liquor store?" "Honey, I could still pass a sobriety test. These halls aren't that hard to navigate, though the fact that you offered makes me think that alochol really improves your disposition."
"and people don’t tend to tell people with me they can’t go somewhere. And even if they do a disagreement from me and they change their mind.” "I can't imagine why..." She shook her head sending that lovely ponytail swishing. "Well! Happy trails to you, Sir!" She tried to stand, but realized that she was already standing and had never sat down in the first place.
Huh. That was interesting.
She waved him off. Really, the last thing she wanted was Jupiter crashing in on a room full of his brother's things and... a brother still in her bed? Had she gotten rid of him yet? She couldn't quite remember. And there was Pluto to deal with. She had planned on hitting his room next, but... that was more tequila than she initially imagined imbibing. Hmmm... decisions, decisions.
Lori tried to jam her hands into her pockets, but she was wearing silky soccer shorts. Soccer shorts don't sport pockets so she was forced to fold her arms over her chest before making her way toward the hall and toward her room. She'd stop in and see if Mars was still home before visiting Pluto maybe.
He smiled back at her comments and then shrugged stubborn and not crying, preferable. “And to you as well...” He wouldn’t stick around to see if she made it, she would make it, it was how long and how many times she had to stop her self from falling down. He spun around about as gracefully as the clones get and walked off toward the garage. It was time to restock. He would even pay, if no one looked at him funny. He just might buy out a liquor store tonight. If he was whistling on the way out of the sanctuary, well it wasn't his fault he was happy he had a bar tender... that had daftly moved her self from hit list to the short list of acquaintances he would make an effort to keep alive. Already looking forward to his rain check. He hoped into what looked like a UPS truck painted with the order colors, and with the people around here, more than likely was. A few blocks down and he was making large transactions. Liquid for plastic.
Mars relaxed on Charge’s bed comfortably dozing. It was still warm from when she slept in and it he felt no compulsion to waste the effort of going next door and getting comfy there. The book rest on his chest closed with one of his fingers playing book mark. His outer shirt happened to make it on top of her laundry and his shoes waited next to her door with his socks rolled up in them. He was very comfy. But his curiosity, which normally was tempered with his need to be a gentleman, was not quite intact, obviously She had been free with all of his things and his brothers. So, He figured it was Karma, He had found, to his cheeky interest, what she had dubbed useful from Venus’s room. And a lot more of odd tidbits that suggested things about her. He was currently sliding her clothes to the right, in order to go through them one by one to the left. There was something satisfying about this, A look into her world that she had afforded herself into his.
Pluto sat his desk, which was surrounded but what would have been priceless collectables and their packaging. On his spotless clean white desk he had found a single blonde hair, in a certain length. It was a certain type of blonde…His Crimson eye peered at it through a magnifying glass. His eyebrows furrowed. His muscles tensed. He wrapped the strand around one of his fingers and began to compact all of the loot into a small lump of nothing worth while, action figures and packaging alike became a part of the terrible mass. He then went and set down on his bed with his favorite nerf gun. His back to the wall contemplating the fate of the trespasser. He was a happy person. It was hard to make him unhappy; one had to make an honest effort at it. Most things even when attempted amused him more. There were few things. Few things that could push him into contemplating honest revenge. Which he would have. Forever.
The smart thing to do would be to visit home, sweet home and burn off that extra buzz. But people who are buzzed, no matter their intelligence level, often choose to riding that happy feeling out to the end. Honestly, why waste a buzz? Oh right. The horrible choices you could make while not swathed in the normal inhibitions of socially acceptable behavior.
"Puh-loo-toe." Small knuckles rapped on the solid wood of the red guy's door. She giggled at her overt enunciation of the clone's name. Hey, pretty much everything was funny right now. Pluto was the trickster right? She needed to think of something trixy to say or... something manga related. He liked manga. Maybe if she pretended to like his manga or if she offered to cosplay! She'd never agree to cosplay while not slightly inebriated.
Actually.. who's door was this? Lori looked around suddenly confused. She hadn't fallen down once, but then again she hadn't taken her eyes off of her feet the entirely time. She was relatively used to the buzzed feeling which was why she operated almost normally while inebriated. Her power felt like this some times. Unfortunately, she wasn't sure of where she had gone. The default plan had been to go to Pluto's room, but the hallways did rather look the same. But this was the clone's hallway. Hopefully it was Pluto inside.
Mars would find many interesting things in Lori's room, but what he would not find was the money and some important personal documents. Those had a lovely hiding spot that no one but a magnetic field controller could reach. He would also notice that there were very few electronics in her room. Only the TV and VCR she'd taken from Abyss and even those were as far from the bed as possible. The only clock was an analogue attached to the wall beside the door.
Venus opened his door in possibly, only a silk robe. Much to his surprise there was a delivery made by some sort of wonderful mistake A petite blonde, Drunk and smiling showed up at his door. Was it his birthday? Because someone had sent him a present.
“I’m afraid you have ended up somewhere much more fun Gorgeous. Please, come in.” He said as he stepped aside and showed her in.
Pluto’s ears perked at the initial calling of his name, typically he wouldn’t have heard over the massive noise from within his room, but he was holding a silent vigil over the deceased collectables. Being in a rather sour move he let his emotions take him. Pluto’s door opened and he fired off two shots from his ballzooka, the first at Venus smacking him right in the middle of his romance novel forehead and the second was aimed at the back of Charge’s.head. Pluto glanced at his finger and noted a match in hair color. He would look later to see if it was a match in length…if so, game on!
He slammed the door shut after the two shots were fired and he gathered a bit of new data…Why was she looking for him?
Venus’s mouth dropped open as his brother assaulted him and his new lady friend, and he was about to yell in fury when he reigned it in and simply played it to his favor. A sympathetic hand went out to Lori’s elbow and steadied her ( whether she needed steadying or not) “ I apologize for that oaf’s behavior, are you ok, sweetheart?”
She was busy pondering where to draw the line as far as cosplay when the door opened to a large expanse of silk. Lori looked up and up and ah! There at the top was a red face. A smiling red face. That smile promised fun. Fun was not begging for forgiveness by cosplaying. Fun was cosplaying for fun. "You're tall." she sighed dreamily toward Venus because it was true. Everyone here was tall and red.
“I’m afraid you have ended up somewhere much more fun Gorgeous. Please, come in.” See fun! He promised fun it was all over his face and stature and when he stepped aside Lori saw... Venus's room? Oh right. Somewhere different meant someone different. It started as a little giggle that blossomed into something much more sidesplitting.
"You're Venus!" The one time she wasn't looking for a conjugal visit and here the suave one lands right in her lap. Pluto deemed this a good time for his sneak attack. The door opening made Lori realize that she was probably speaking too loud so she clamped her mouth shut and turned her I'm Sorry eyes right toward the Nerf Gun that was launching a foamy projectile at her. Which she managed to catch. With her face.
Her mind was spinning. Probably not Mercury, definitely not Saturn unless he gave up his vow of ... whatever. "Pluto! Pluto I'm a sailor scout!" But it was too late, the door was shut and someone had her elbow. Lori looked down to see red fingers as big as the free shampoos she liked to stock up on from the hotels. He had effectively controller her presumably wavering balance. He'd also controlled her in that he kept her from following Pluto into his hidey hole.
Her eyes trailed up and up and up some more until she found that red smiling face. “ I apologize for that oaf’s behavior, are you ok, sweetheart?” She pulled at her elbow, it was up to him if he would let it go. Really. Was giving up so much fun so soon...? She gave Venus the best present she could at the moment: a wistful smile. "I may never recover fully, but if I do... Rain check?"
"I may never recover fully, but if I do... Rain check?"
“ I would never force something that is meant to be given freely or taken freely in your case, My Sweet.” he said with a more than lustful edge. “I do like the Idea of you being a sailor scout though. That boy just doesn’t know a good thing when he sees it.” He pursed his lips, thoughtfully, His eyes scanning her. He waited at the door way to watch her walk away and make sure she made it ok across the hall, if she still chose to pursue that miscreant, well she was on her own.. His hand on her elbow became a flat surface to lean on, opposed to an actual hold she was free to leave whenever she was ready.
When Pluto had decide that there was no pursuit coming after him he set back down and began to ponder the fantastically torturous things that were in store for her…if it was her. Oh, it was her….she would pay. Now how would he lure her into trusting him after that nerf assassination…hmmmm? First he would need to confirm the dna sample he had after that…well he wouldn’t kill her anything short of that he couldn’t be held responsible. You know what she would probably really hate water balloons…filled with vinegar. An impish smile flitted across his face.
Pluto hoped up to the door again “You are a what now?” He picked throw and then fired a couple more shots off at only Venus this time.
She resisted the urge to elbow Venus for the pet names. My sweet and sweetheart, Lori was not. Nor did she plan on ever being anyone's pet or doll or any of those others that were at the tip of Venus' silver tongue. “I do like the Idea of you being a sailor scout though." "I'll bet you do." "That boy just doesn’t know a good thing when he sees it.” "Hope he figures it out." She winked at Venus before pulling away, ponytail bobbing. Lori had a working knowledge of perhaps two or three episodes of Sailor Moon to work with, let's see how much of the plot was guessable.
The golden door of opportunity opened and the nerf gun was back, thankfully aimed only at Pluto's brother. “You are a what now?”
Shoot, what had she said? "A uhm... magical girl." Yes, those words did just come out of her mouth, and she wasn't drunk enough not to regret them the moment they passed her lips. "Don't you think I look like a sailor scout? Like.. Venus maybe?" She was hoping that was the blonde one, because honestly it was the only name that came to mind with a certain someone standing right behind them. She made a "V" for victory or "Venus" or anything he might buy that the V was for before advancing a few paces.
"I have a confession to make." She bit her lower lip, the picture of despondency as she leeeeeeaned in close to where he crouched. What came next was hardly a desperate whisper. "I've always wanted to be a... sailor scout." It was written all over her face. Make my wish come true? How did the Sailor Scout war cry go? I will punish you? and a flourish with the hands... yeah, hopefully that would be her ticket into his good graces.
Pluto’s mouth dropped open a little bit. What exactly was she telling him and what had she been drinking? Come to think of it, he couldn’t hear Jup cursing, maybe she was drinking with him.
"Don't you think I look like a sailor scout? Like.. Venus maybe?"
“ I guess, if she got a hair cut.” Pluto reached out and brushed at her hair. His finger lined up with hers and he noted that the hair color matched perfectly. Forget the length test. He had all the proof he needed. He gave her a confused look, However behind those confused doors Pluto’s brain was buzzing away with conspiracy theories and the random picture of her in a short skirt, however, that wasn’t his vice. No, no, no, no.
"I have a confession to make "I've always wanted to be a... sailor scout."
“Huh? And why are you telling me this? Sounds like Venus would be more than happy to play sailor Venus and Tuxedo mask with you. I am sure he’d like the opportunity to say his own name to you while he made you dizzy.” Pluto stood up and put the nerf gun on his shoulder like some sort of foam big game hunter.
Venus mumbled some derogatory name about Pluto and closed his door. Pluto simply wasn’t helping today.
He then did a one eighty on his attitude and began to go along with her, might as well keep her with in reach and start weaving his wicked web. The more he knew about her, the better he could dismantle her sanity. “but I can understand not wanting to cosplay with him, important pieces of your costume would be missing. Where are we going to find you a Sailor out fit?” she did cut a nice figure and it couldn’t maybe he could get her to drink more. If she passed out he could render a majority of his vengeance tonight.
Pluto reached out and brushed at her hair and Lori took that as a good sign not a hair comparison. Except that he looked confused. Why confused? He wasn't supposed to be confused. He was supposed to be putty in her hands. And then... he opened his mouth. And all kinds of garbage fell out. Well! So much for playing nice!
Venus grumbled before his door closed behind her and she didn't blame him. Lori adopted a face of hurt: cloudy with the chance of tears. "But.." If she'd really been a Sailor nerd that would have been a real slap in the face.
“but I can understand not wanting to cosplay with him, important pieces of your costume would be missing." She nodded almost hopefully. Dare she think he had changed his mind? Lori put her hand on the frame of the door to steady herself. "Where are we going to find you a Sailor out fit?”
Uhhh... that was a good question. Was that something that all cosplyers knew? Was that a test? Was she already failing? She gripped the door frame feeling more and more panicked and more and more dizzy. "I think I need to sit down." or lay down. or have another drink. or cuddle. Cuddling would be nice too... maybe she should just go home to her room.
Pluto smiled, " Sorry I am just having a bad night. Really, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings." Guilt trip! "Its just I haven't really had a home before this and I am gone for who the hell knows how long and then all of my stuff is destroyed and yeah come on in. I suppose we could order you something online. You ok?"
He was all sheep, never mind the grizzly hiding in the sheep costume. "You want something to eat? ramen? or maye you just need a nap?" He showed her to his comfy but childish nest of a bed. there was also several bean bags about that could be just as comfy. He offered his hand to steady her. " So Sailor scouts huh? there are lot more animes that are better? I'm guessing you are a cartoon network fan?" his eye glittered with inerest, what the heck was this all about?
Had she raided all of their rooms and she was now trying to make up for it? was she just a kooky drun with the wrong hair color? to be safe he would torture all the blondes. Mercury and Abyss would approve.
Pluto started backpedaling at the sight of potential tears. "...Its just ... all of my stuff is destroyed and yeah come on in."
Lori stepped across the threshold of the room and looked around what appeared to be an 11 year old boy's room. It was considerably more trashed than when she had been here. Honestly she hadn't taken much from this room, but apparently what she had done was enough.
"I suppose we could order you something online. You ok?"
"Online!?" She squeaked. Online meant that they might be replaying this whole thing again later. Possibly not drunk enough to claim innocence later. Vomit. "What kind of fan are you!?" The righteous anger was just so much frosting on top of the cake that was the accusation that she was a better fan of this crap then Pluto, otaku extraordinaire.
He offered her the anime nerd staples, but she was repulsed, though not repulsed enough to not take his hand. She held onto him like a life line. "So Sailor scouts huh? there are lot more animes that are better? I'm guessing you are a cartoon network fan?" She nodded numbly. Cartoons. Yeah. But she was still mad at him for the repeated insults to her supposed favorite show.
"I thought you would understand..." The blameless tears were pooling at her lower lids not yet enough to spill over. Now was a lovely time to make an escape and continue this duel when she was more coherent and perhaps had done some homework on the subject. She withdrew her hand and gave Pluto a disparaging look before making a modest attempt at the door.
His eyes opened in a bit of disbelief, perhaps it wasn’t her. If she was that kind of sticlar about home made cosplay…then it wasn’t likely that she was the one that did this to his collection. Hmmm.
“Okay then, We’ll make.” He was cut off .
"I thought you would understand..."
“ I will make you something then. I do understand, it is just rare to find a valid Scouts fan…sorry.” He said to a retreating Charge. Sorry that I am going to have to torture you to find out if you are responsible for the mess in my room.
“ I’ll make it up to you, promise.” He said not really discouraging her leaving but not kicking her out either. His dark clouded thoughts stormed.
Later, after he was alone He would get his Wii control and sign onto the internet. find patterns and clothe for a sailor out fit, One that would be capable of embarrassing the heck out of her, if she was trying to fool him. He then went to order a wig. This would be what he called phase one.
“I will make you something then. I do understand, it is just rare to find a valid Scouts fan…sorry.” “I’ll make it up to you, promise.”
She tried not to cringe thinking of what promise he might be keeping. Research. Yes, she needed to research.
It was called a tactical retreat, but it still it left an acrid taste in her mouth. Or maybe that was the leftover from the alcohol. Bleh. First order of business: brush the teeth. Second order of business: stick her finger in a light socket to burn off the buzz. Lori threw open her door and went straight for the bathroom to wash off the ick. She may never recover from what she stepped into with Pluto.
She was brushing her teeth with a vengeance, sparks went flying and everything.
