Another Saturday night went by, and Ty still found herself trying to get used to things on this side of the rip. It was...odd, not being as ousted as she was back....well, home wasn't quite the right term for it. She never really felt like she'd belonged, and though she *still* felt like an outcast here...it at least seemed like it'd be better.

Ty sat at a table in the corner of the bar, as usual, away from the crowd. The objects' murmuring were usually enough noise for her without having a bunch of people with more objects on their person. She wore a low cut tee shirt and a pair of tight jeans, her red hair hanging at about shoulder length as her blue eyes looked around the room and she sipped on a drink. Something fruity as per usual, but people tended to underestimate the kick those things could carry.

Relaxing in the chair, she took another sip of her drink. Until she accidentally knocked her purse off of the table, and a can of spray paint rolled out of the bag onto the floor. Quickly, she got up and caught it, rushing back to her bag to stuff it back in before anything noticed. Didn't need anyone to know what she did in her free time, but if anyone did notice....well crap.

She sat back at her seat in the corner, looking around the room as she sipped her drink. Perfectly natural. Nothing out of place here at all...

Megan had more or less been on a dry spell for quite a while. Alcohol not affecting her the same way anymore was one reason, but the bulk of it was that she just hadn't had the time in the last handful of months. She had known that things would get more difficult when she had decided to go against Roach. Didn't make things easier, though.

Her target had gone quiet in the last couple of months, though. It had been harder and harder to find traces of him, and she had been running into his little minions less and less. She supposed it meant she might be able to take a night off for once.

She'd chosen a bar that was a little out of her comfort zone because dropping the paranoia that the building would just explode the moment she walked in was hard to do. This place had a younger appeal than her old haunts. Less the grumpy dive bar type, more the modern dating scene. As she shouldered the front door open and stepped inside, her attention divided between where she was walking and the most recent work order she'd received on her phone.

The sounds of some kinda upbeat hip-hop song reached her ears and she looked up. Ugh. Heaving a sigh, she stuffed her phone in her pocket and headed further inside. She was just one of many age ground around her, and to be honest she blended in just fine. It wasn't like shaved heads or mohawks, or tattoos and scars were a big deal anymore. Hell, more than half the people inside the bar probably had tramp stamps they were ashamed of.

Still, it didn't make her feel any less like she wasn't sticking out like a sore thumb. Maybe it was the permanent scowl that tended to rest on her face or the fact that she was always tense and ready for a fight. Megan eyed people as she passed, silently judging people as she went. There were a few that looked like they could be trouble... a few that ended up on her eye-candy list, and the rest weren't worth her time. As she plopped herself down at a table and picked up a menu, dropping a few small scout spiders from the back of her jacket as she figured out what she wanted.

A few tables from her, a redhead who had ended up on one of her lists dropped her purse. The spider mutant watched from the sides of her eyes as she scrambled to put it back together and pretend like nothing had happened.

Cute.

A few minutes later she had ordered and was leaning back in her chair with her hands clasped behind her head, elbows up and relaxed.

A few minutes later a duplicate of that fruity drink would arrive at the redhead's table, compliments of Megan. If she looked over, the dark-haired, mohawk wearing woman would lift her own drink in greeting.

It would be fun to see where the night would go.

Ty was inwardly cursing herself at how clumsy she was tonight. Maybe she was still getting used to things on this side, or maybe she just had a lot on her mind. Yeah...that was it. Considering that she was drinking on some stranger's dime, and they didn't know about it. But that never really bothered her before. Life was just...weird sometimes. Especially when you were having to start from scratch in another world. Not that she'd done that good a job the first time, but eh.

She continued sipping her drink, though gradually becoming less and less modest with her sips. Hey, she earned it, right? Right. Besides, maybe the alcohol would distract her from the fact that she picked a bar with terrible taste in music. But...the drinks were good, so that was always a plus, right?

About the time she was about to finish her drink, another was set before her.

"But I didn't--" she started, as the young man who'd delivered the drink politely shook his head and informed her that someone else had bought it for her. Well, that was kind of them. Maybe tonight wouldn't be such a bad night after all.

She turned to look in the direction of her new benefactor to see a rather scowly-looking woman with a mohawk raise her glass. Part of her had to wonder if there was an alternate version of her running around somewhere, and if they ever got drinks from women like this. She finished her old drink and raised the new one in return, flashing the woman a polite smile.

Personally, she couldn't recall ever getting a drink from another woman, but she guessed a new home meant potential for anything, right? Sure...Besides...

She took a sip. Drinks always tasted better when they were free.

Well, the drink was accepted. That meant something in bar lingo, did't it? Eh, she wasn't really the type to care. After tipping her drink back, mostly just to empty the glass, she stood and headed for the Redheads table.

She didn't bother trying to wigging in next to her or anything, instead opting to snag a close by chair and sit herself in it at the opposite end of the table. One leg crossed over the other, she draped her arm across the back of the chair, and propped her elbow up on the table. Chin met palm, and she leveled a semi-bored stare at the woman. After moment she decided to speak.

"I'm not really well versed in whatever lame pickup lines people like to drop these days, so i'll just cut to the chase. Wanna @#$%?"

Really, she wasn't the best with words.... so what bother? At best the chick would say yes, and she'd be less bored for a little while. At worst, she'd say no and Megan would have to find something else to occupy her attention for another couple of hours.

She idling played with a still healing scar on her cheek while waiting for an answer.

Ty sipped on her drink some more, occasionally looking over to the other woman, to see she'd downed the rest of hers and was now heading her way. Well, that would make it easier to actually talk, unless this version of New York was one where people bought other people drinks and left without a word. Though the mutant wouldn't necessarily be complaining about that, that didn't seem nearly as interesting. When she pulled up a chair and sat across from her, Ty's blue eyes focused on the other woman.

Intriguing, tough-looking, Ty could see a few scars, the woman looked bored, but for some reason, the petite, sweet-looking redhead caught her attention. Ty took a hearty sip of her drink.

"I'm not really well versed in whatever lame pickup lines people like to drop these days, so i'll just cut to the chase. Wanna @#$%?"

Ty managed to not spit her drink out, but she did end up coughing. Wow, that was forward...

Her face turned as red as her hair as she looked at the woman, her thoughts racing as her heartbeat sped up as well. She'd never been with a woman before, but she'd certainly thought about it. And now she'd been very bluntly offered a chance.

Taking a breath, she took another very healthy swig of her drink. "You know...? Sure. Why not?" she said with a sly grin, though there was a hint of nervousness in those baby blue eyes of hers. Looking down at the half of her drink she had yet to finish, she looked back up to the other woman. A part of her was still trying to process what just happened. What does one say after something like that, really?

"My name is Tyanna," she said softly, figuring you couldn't go wrong with a name. "But you can call me Ty."

"You know...? Sure. Why not?"

Megan's lips curled into a pleased grin. A woman after her own heart. When the woman offered her name in greeting, Megan was obliged to respond. "Charlotte. A pleasure to meet you." She took her eyes off the redhead for a moment to wave toward the waitress, the turned back.

"So I'm not used to haunts like this. Other than booze and questionable food what does one do in here for fun?"

A moment later a copy of her previous drink was deposited on the table next to her. At least the place had decent bar staff. "You want another drink? I don't mind buyin'. Should warn you though that alcohol doesn't have much of an effect on me anymore, so you'd be the only one gettin' plastered."

She took a big sip of her own drink, hardly phased by how it burned on the way down. SHe hoped the girl knew her own limit if she did want more. The last time she'd tried to hook up with someone and alcohol was involved he'd gotten himself @#$%faced and ended up sleeping on her couch while she babysat him.

Her face still tinted a light pink, she could at least feel her nerves calming down a little. Wasn't like she'd never taken someone home from a bar before, after all, right? "Pleasure's all mine," she said with a smile as she watched the other woman get another drink.

"Not much, honestly. You drink, you go home. Preferably with someone else, but...well, yeah. Others choose to just get plastered and get their asses dragged out, but to each their own." She shrugged. She'd honestly planned to be closer to the second group tonight, but it seemed as though her luck had turned around considerably.

She shook her head as she finished off the last little bit of her drink. "Nah. If I'm to be of any use to you later, I'd better quit while I'm ahead," she said with a light giggle. "I mean, the original plan was to get hammered, but...that seems to have changed." She flashed a coy grin, the alcohol now giving her a little more confidence. Sure, her heart was still racing, but...it'd be okay.

As they fell into silence, she sort of looked over her new companion as she let her ears linger on some of the murmurs coming off of her. Well, off of her clothing, any jewelry, or anything else that was on her person. Due to the nature of the passive side of her mutation, it wasn't a method with pinpoint accuracy, but it gave her a little insight into someone. Well, a few vague quotes or sounds, but it was better than nothing.

The spider mutant chuckled, fiddling with her short glass. She kept her eyes on her companion for the night, however... Icy blue eyes catching the light and appearing to slightly glow. Typically the only visible sign that she wasn't quite human, or that she favored unnatural contacts.

"For you and me both, Ty. This is a much nicer way to kill a few hours." She finished off her second drink and set the cup down with a soft clack.

"So what's with the paint cans?" Maybe she was a serial tagger. Though, it was hard imagining the pretty, soft looking ginger being a part of any of the local gangs. Maybe she was one of those street reforming artists, and she made grandiose outer space paintings with spray paint.

She was unaware that Ty was also a mutant, and that she could get some kinda reading off of her from across the table. Even if it was just whispers of sound. Megan, though she had hidden them well, did have a lot of objects on her person... and a lot of them had seen the worst of the worst... delivered a lot of pain, even if it had been justified (or to least to her) Specifically, a trusty little pistol she always carried that was in a holster and nestled behind her just above her tailbone. A knife was carried in one boot, tucked away but there for her to grab with practiced ease should she need it. One well-used steel knuckle was squirreled away in a pocket of her jacket.

"It usually is, yeah," she said, leaning forward, her elbows on the table, chin resting on her palms. "Paint cans?" she blinked. "Oh, you saw that, huh...Well, let's just say I'm a...freelance artist in my spare time," she said a little quietly, a mischievous gleam in her eye.

However, as they spoke, Ty was slowly noticing something different about the various objects on this woman. While her mutation didn't tell her exactly what she had, or what she'd done with them, she could make out assorted cries of pain, fear, maybe even a shot or two. Something about this should have set off red flags. Should have, but she decided not to worry about it.

Maybe her judgement was off, and it probably was, either because of the alcohol, or the prospect of a little action. Honestly it was most definitely both.

"My...art...is a form of expression. I just so happen to express my feelings on...buildings, usually belonging to certain targets," she continued. She didn't often talk about her method of protest, and she didn't even really know if it accomplished anything, but it certainly made her feel better.

The spider mutant quirked a dark eyebrow up, one corner of her mouth quirking up a bit. "Sounds pretty intriguing. Been a lot of artsy stuff popping up around here of late. Personally, I think the city's better off with it." She absently mused about what she did and if it could also be considered a form of art, which she happened to express upon certain targets.

Ehh... no. Sounded too much like something Roach would say.

She shifted in her seat slightly. "Not to seem to forward, but you'll have to show me that art of yours at some point. I happen to be a fan of street art."

A peppier group within the building started cheering as the current song shifted to one they apparently liked better. Megan peered over her shoulder and spotted what looked like a very wasted bridal party all stumbling to their feet to start dancing.

"At the risk of sounding like a killjoy, wanna get outta here?"

"So do I," she murmured, ignoring the sounds emanating from the objects on the other woman's person. "Well, depending on which way we end up going, I may be able to show you," she said with a shrug as she relaxed a little. She heard all kinds of things from all kinds of objects every day, so why worry now? At least...that's what she told herself. It wasn't every day she heard objects radiating with screams after all.

But no, this would be perfectly fine. And then the music changed to something even more godawful than what had been playing the rest of the night--which was saying something, and a group of drunk women started getting crazy.

"Yeah, uh...I'm with ya. Let's get the hell outta here, and likely never come back," she said with a shudder as a gloved hand brushed a strand of red hair behind her left ear.

Grinning from ear to ear, she stood an stepped to the side before holding her hand out for Ty to take. With her other hand, she fished out a few bills to cover the drinks and a tip. Then she turned and headed for the door, giving the wild wedding party some room on the way. "How do you wanna do this? we can go on my ride and I can drive you back later... or we can drive separately if you want. Whatever you're comfortable with."

She had a temporary flat not too far away she could go to... it was clean and tidy. Sparsely decorated because she was hardly ever there... but it would do. "Oh... I guess I gotta drop another cliche too... Your place, or mine?"

Once they were outside she stopped by her bike, fishing out her key while she unhooked the helmet from around the handlebars.

Tentatively, Ty took the hand that was offered to her, smirk plastered on her face. "Well," she said after they got outside, thinking, "I don't exactly have a car or anything right now, so it looks like I'm riding with you." She looked at Charlotte, then at the motorcycle, which...didn't seem like a bad deal to be honest.

"I'd rather my place, if that's all right with you," she said after a few moments of thought. She knew the murmuring never stopped, and she would rather be surrounded by murmurings she was familiar with. Besides, she was still *aware* of the not-so-comforting sounds coming from her company for the evening. Maybe tonight wasn't going to end with her dead, but if it did, hopefully the other girl would at least make good on her offer first, right?

Ty took a breath of the night air, though it being the city, it wasn't exactly 'fresh' air, but it was comforting nonetheless. "I really don't live too far, maybe several blocks; just far enough to be too far to walk," she said with a slight giggle, looking over at the dark haired woman once again.

Ty's place it was, then.

The spider mutant turned to hand her the helmet because she was courteous even if she was a bastard most of the time, and paused. The strangest sense of Deja vu filled her. Ty....Ty... Hadn't she met someone named Ty before?

....Yes, yes she had. It had been quite a few years ago, but she had. Hadn't that Ty been a redhead also?

... And hadn't she met him in a bar? And bought him a drink? And then taken him home on her motorcycle?

The more she recalled, the more the expression on her face started to morph into one of wide-eyed confusion.

There was no way this was the same Ty, right? He had definitely been a dude... entirely different shape. She leaned in and squinted while passing the helmet over. "We... haven't met before have we? Possibly a long time ago? On your birthday?"

It wasn't impossible to change physical traits about yourself, Megan would know... even without a mutants help. Maybe she'd stumbled upon that same ginger, only new and improved. Hadn't she given the last one a birthday kiss? Maybe a refresher would solve her internal debate. Her squinting continued for a moment as looked at the other woman. They were the same height so it didn't take much to simply lean in the rest of the way and press her lips to Ty's.

After a moment she pulled back, a small smile on her lips. It wasn't much to go on, but the kiss felt the same to her. From what she could recall Ty had gotten involved with Roach at some point... so maybe drastic actions had been taken in order to cut ties? Se mentally shrugged, mind already made up. Too much was similar to be a mere coincidence.

"Meh, doesn't matter much. Off to your place. Tyanna"

The redhead accepted the helmet, glad her hair was short enough to put it on without worry. But before she could put it on, she notice that Charlotte looked confused. After she spoke, Ty's facial expression matched the confusion. "I don't think so. I mean, I don't think that's very likely," she answered. It was true, she hadn't spent a birthday on this side of the rip. Besides, she was pretty sure she'd remember a girl like Charlotte.

And then, before she knew what was happening, she felt the other woman's lips pressed against hers, and she took a sharp breath of surprise before returning it. When it broke, Ty had a slight smile on her face; confusion notwithstanding, that was actually....rather nice. With a nod, she put the helmet on, climbing onto the bike behind Charlotte and wrapping her arms around the other woman's waist. "It uh...really isn't that hard to get to. Several blocks down and it's the complex on the left," she explained before taking off.

It wasn't a really eventful bike-ride, then again it wasn't very long, considering the time of night and the fact that they were riding. The neighborhood wasn't exactly savory, but at least Ty had a place to stay this time. Once the bike was parked, Ty handed Charlotte her helmet back, and once everything was situated, slipped one of her gloves and stuck it in her purse. Then, her now-bare hand took the other woman's as she led her a few buildings over.

Inside, and up the stairs, she kept her eyes and ears out for trouble as they walked down the hall, and she unlocked the door to her apartment, leading her inside. It wasn't a very big apartment, but it was kept clean(enough), and it would be adequate for what they had planned.

"I'd drop another cliche and say 'welcome to my humble abode,' but I'd say humble is a bit generous," she said with a slight giggle.
