The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Blaine was already waiting for her, with his jacket on, when she made her way to the front of the bar once again. And he was ready to go. Though, Lee thought with a grin, he was probably ready to go hours ago.
But Skye was already home. Lee’s bottom lip drew between her teeth as she thought for a moment. If Skye was already home, that did put a damper on things. A moment later, even as Blaine was asking, a smile spread across Lee’s face as she grabbed Blaine’s hand. ”Kevin’s at his dad’s,” Lee said as she started walking out of the bar. ”I mean, Rachel’s probably there, but at least she has her own bedroom.” Plus, there was the fact that her place was a hell of a lot closer than Blaine’s.
He sighed a little as he looked down, trying to look at the ground, but his eyes didn't nearly make it that far. Which....made things worse. He liked having Skye around, but...well tonight it was more of a liability than an asset. Or just a complete hindrance.
But he looked back to her eyes as she spoke, and he smiled. "True...You should let Skye know we're not coming home tonight," he murmured, giving her a kiss on the lips already. Then, he took her hand, and started out of the bar, this time walking to the right instead of the left.
It was worth noting that Blaine was walking rather briskly.
Lee mirrored Blaine’s smile once she suggested her place, because at least her roommate had her own room. And then he suggested that she let Skye know they weren’t going to be home. Though, Lee couldn’t help but laugh slightly at that kind of logic; Blaine was asking her to tell his niece, whom he lived with, that they weren’t going to be going to the apartment that Lee didn’t actually live at that night.
But Lee still pulled out her phone and shot off a quick text to Skye, telling her not to wait up, that they were just going to crash as her place that night.
And then they were walking, and Lee did not fail to miss the speed that Blaine was setting their pace at. Not that Lee had any trouble keeping up, and it definitely was not just the energy from earlier letting her do that. And especially because of that speed, it took next to no time to get to her place.
After quietly unlocking and opening the door, Lee flipped the hall light on as she entered. Then she turned to look at Blaine as she slipped her jacket off and hung it up in the closet. ”You want a beer or something?” Lee asked as she quickly unzipped and stepped out of her boots. Though, she was really hoping that Blaine’s answer would be no.
Blaine would have let Skye know himself, but she didn't answer her phone, and he didn't text. There was a communication barrier there, if they weren't in the same room.
Blaine may not have noticed the speed they were going, or maybe he did, but they were both walking rather quickly towards her apartment, for obvious reasons. Once inside, Blaine slipped off his jacket, and put his boots off in the corner as he hung it up.
At the offer, he gave a smirk. "Or....something sounds nice...." he murmured, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her into a deep kiss.
Blaine followed her lead in taking his jacket off and hanging it up in the closet. And then he responded to her question about a drink, and Lee grinned up at him even as Blaine’s arms were wrapping around her, pulling her close to him for a kiss.
Lee could have sworn that her heart stopped for a second before it started pounding and racing in her chest. Something did sound good…
When the kiss finally ended, Lee was breathing heavily as she looked up at Blaine. Then she grabbed Blaine’s hand with a grin. ”Then we should probably find somewhere a little more comfortable,” Lee said, pulling Blaine along with her as she walked backwards toward her bedroom.
He grinned as she looked up at him. He could hear his heartbeat again as she took his hand and led him backwards. He had only been to her house once, for Christmas, but he didn't exactly take the time to get reacquainted with the apartment right now. Well...there was one room....
Once in the bedroom, he kicked the door behind him with his foot--he was getting really good at that--and then leaned down to kiss her again as they continued toward the bed.
Once they were to her bedroom, Lee was about to turn to close the door, but apparently Blaine beat her to it, kicking the door closed. The moment that she heard the door click closed, Lee grinned up at Blaine even as he was bending down to kiss her once more.
But they were still moving, Lee still slowly walking backward as she wrapped her arms around Blaine’s neck returning his kiss. At least until the back of Lee’s legs hit the edge of her bed. The contact stopped her legs from moving, but not the rest of her body, and Lee ended up falling backwards, down onto the bed, her arms around his neck pulling Blaine down with her.
When the fell onto the bed, Blaine pulled back to see if she was okay--after all, he was a pretty big guy and he had no other means of knowing how he'd fallen. But everything was in decent order, so he leaned down and kissed her again.
-------
Blaine lay in bed, looking at the ceiling with a contented smile on his face. Things were definitely....different, now that they'd figured out this aspect of the relationship. Hell, less than two months ago, he was thinking he'd never be in a relationship, but not only had that happened...it was happening pretty fast. And...as he lay there, cuddled next to Lee(whom he still desperately wished his power didn't work on), he realized he was okay with all of this. In fact, he was more than okay.
By now he wasn't sure what he'd do without her; she'd helped him find more ways to cope with his being different, and not only that...she was really the only person he'd let in. Most people just saw the tough guy who loved to fight, but Lee saw the artist, the dreamer, and the guy that just wanted to do some good in the world, despite the 'legal' limitations.
His eyes began to close for a moment, but they immediately popped back open. He needed to stay awake as long as she was next to him. He'd overcome a lot of things, but his fear of hurting Lee in his sleep wasn't one of them yet.
As Lee lay snuggled up against Blaine, her head resting on his shoulder, Lee couldn’t help but think about how amazing that night had been. And it really had been. Plus, despite what Blaine had once said about sex for him being very awkward because he couldn’t actually feel anything physically, all Lee could think about that was that he was a fast learner.
Laying there, Lee was relaxed, happy, a small smile on her face. And she could feel Blaine relaxing beside her. But she knew that she wasn’t going to be able to fall asleep any time soon; being at the bar, and then all the contact she had had with Blaine since leaving, Lee had far too much energy for that to be a possibility. Still, she knew that it would be nice to be able to fall asleep beside him at some point.
”I wish we could just lay here and fall asleep together,” Lee whispered as she let her fingers danced along the muscles of Blaine’s chest. ”I know it’s not going to happen any time soon, but it would still be nice.”
He looked down at her, snuggled against him. Part of him wondered how he got so lucky as to find her. Or maybe she found him. He watched her trace his chest and smiled as she spoke.
That sounded nice, to be able to fall asleep like this...but he wasn't ready for that. "Maybe we can one day," he said with a soft smile as he lay there thinking. His mind drifted, and his eyes closed.
Then opened again. After several minutes of this....they eventually closed...and didn't open. His breath steadied, softening as sleep finally claimed him.
Lee smiled slightly at Blaine's response. That was fast more optimistic than he had been other tones the idea of actually sleeping together had been brought up. Always before, the thought of her being close to him as he sleep hadn't even been allowed, he was so concerned about the possibility of hurting her. Not that that was something Lee was particularly worried about, but she had been the one who mentioned the idea of baby steps in the relationship.
Even if other things with them had jumped by leaps and bounds recently.
It didn't take long for Blaine to fall asleep at this point. Lee only continued to lay there for another few minutes before she crawled out of bed; even if she didn't feel like she was vibrating with energy, she didn't want to betray Blaine's trust like that.
So Lee gave Blaine a quick kiss and then crawled out of bed and threw on a pair of pajamas before heading out to the living room. Turning on the TV, Lee curled up on the couch.
And then the wheels started turning in her head. She had always been careful, even before they had managed to make things actually work. But with how… Unexpected that night at the bar had been, she hadn't even thought about protection at all until well after the fact.
What if…? Lee's heart was pounding in her chest again, though this time for a very different reason. What if she did, because she hadn't been careful enough? Blaine would panic and freak out. They had only known each other for 2 months, and they had been in a relationship for an even shorter time than that.
This was not good. Sure, Lee had no way of knowing anything for sure yet, but it was still not good. There was no possible way that he was going to be ready for this. With how worried about touching her Blaine had been to start with, there was no way he would even try touching or holding a baby.
Pulling her legs up in front of her and wrapping her arms around her knees, Lee started chewing on her bottom lip. Then her back straightened as she sat there, her eyes widened in shock. If things did end up going that way, why was the only thing she was thinking about, worrying about, was how Blaine would react?
But as she thought about it more, Lee realized that she wasn't worried about anything else because she liked the idea of being with Blaine for that long, of having that kind of commitment. A smile slowly spread across Lee's face as her lip slipped out from between her teeth.
Did that mean that she… Had she actually fallen…Lee's smile widened even more as she sat there staring absently at the TV. Who would have thought?
Blaine didn't know how long he'd been asleep for, but it was peaceful. Nice, even. Though, one couldn't be sure if he remembered the circumstances in which he fell asleep. Even still, when he finally woke up, he was startled a little as his eyes focused on the dark room. The dark room that wasn't his. He sat straight up in bed as he looked around.
It was Lee's room, right. But...Lee wasn't there. It was beginning to come back to him that he'd fallen asleep with her there. If he was guaranteed to sleep like that every time, maybe it wouldn't be so bad. The bed was still pretty well made--all things considered, and nothing was broken. And he really did like having her around. A lot.
Pushing himself to his feet with a groan, he put his red boxer-briefs back on and walked out into the living room, to see Lee sitting on the couch, balled up. Walking behind her, he kissed her cheek, putting one hand on each shoulder.
"You okay, Sweetheart?" he asked, a level of concern in his voice.
Lee hadn't thought that she would be able to fall in love again. She had told Blaine that the first night they had really talked, the night she had told him that just because he couldn't feel a physical touch didn't mean that he couldn't connect with someone, couldn't have a relationship with someone. It would just take the right someone.
Lee's smile widened as she rested her chin on her knees. She had tried to be that for Blaine, to be for him the patient, understanding person who would let him experience what everyone else for to experience.
But maybe Blaine was the right one for her, too.
Lee wasn't sure how much time has passed, but she read still sitting curled up on the couch when she felt someone approaching from the bedrooms. But she didn't turn, she just stayed sitting there until she felt Blaine come to a stop behind her. Then Lee leaned her head to one side so it was leaning against Blaine's arm.
”Yeah I'm fine,” Lee said with a shrug. ”I was just thinking, that's all. I tend to do that when I'm awake at night. That's something you'll have to get used to.”
Turning slightly, Lee grabbed Blaine's hand to gently pull him around the couch so he could sit. ”How did you sleep? Did you get enough sleep?”
He smiled down at her as she leaned into his arm, then led him around to sit with her. He gladly did, snuggling close and putting an arm around her.
"I slept well, actually. I think I got enough, but time will tell. My energy seems fine, but that's all I have to go by," he explained as he looked over at her, smiling. God, she was beautiful. And so caring. And sweet. He really was a lucky guy to have found her. Or to have had her find him, whichever way that worked.
"What were you thinking about?" he asked, kissing her cheek.
Feeling Blaine's arm wrap around her as he sat down, Lee leaned into him, uncurling slightly. ”I'm glad,” Lee said with a smile. Then her smile widened a bit more as she looked over at Blaine. ”Especially with how long we were touching, I'm glad you you feel like your energy is good.”
And then Blaine was kissing her cheek, asking what she had been thinking about. Of course he wanted to know what she was thinking. Even as as was sitting there looking at him, Lee knew that she couldn't tell Blaine everything she had been thinking about, what was the point in that?
”I was thinking about tonight,” Lee finally said, her voice soft as she smiled at Blaine. ”About us.”
