The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Lizzy
Neither Blaine nor his niece noticed Lee leave; as they were talking about different things, mostly about the family at first, and how Al still cared for both of them, he just didn't know how to express it, or address the fact that they were mutants. But it made Blaine feel good that his older brother still loved him, and that Skye coming here was to help her get a grip on her powers instead of an act of malice.
Skye worked on her soda while Blaine popped open a beer, and their talk moved to other things. After all, a lot had happened over the course of thirteen years.
"I worked as a bouncer for different bars and clubs across the city; I'm sure if I called in a favor, I could get you on as a waitress, or you could learn to tend bars, or what have you. Most of the jobs I can get you do fall in this environment though, but some are mutant friendly, so you should be okay."
Skye merely nodded as she drink her soda, and then Lee walked back in...loaded down with bags. Blaine merely gave a snort; he was learning to understand that sometimes this kind of thing was easier for Lee because of her powers, but damned if she was going to outdo him.
"How many are left?" he whispered. "I think two..."
With a nod, Blaine hopped up and made his way out the door before coming back with both suitcases and setting them on the floor. "I'm sorry the place isn't bigger, but I'll help you get on your feet, anyway. As long as it takes."
"Thanks, Uncle Blaine, Aunt Lee," she murmured, stifling another yawn.
Blaine blinked, unknowingly turning a bright red. "Aunt?"
As Lee walked back into the apartment, she heard Blaine telling Skye that he’d see what he could do to help find her a job. Lee smiled. That sounded good, sounded like a good thing for both of them.
But then she saw Blaine notice her, with the bags, and heard his snort. ”What? Was I supposed to leave them down there?” She asked with a shrug as she leaned the suitcases against the wall before taking the backpack off. Before she was able to head back out the door to get the rest, Blaine had beaten her to it.
Shaking her head, Lee just let Blaine go and instead returned to her spot on the couch, grabbing her pop as she sat. It didn’t take long for Blaine to return with the remaining suitcases. Though it must have been a huge pain for Skye to have travelled with all that, especially by herself, in a way Lee was glad for it. At least it meant that she had actually been able to bring her stuff with her when she had left home, meant she still had important items. Lee hadn’t gotten that; when she’d run away, she’d taken one bag, mostly clothes, and by the time she actually had the chance to go back and get it, about the only things that still meant anything to her had been her CDs and music.
And then Skye was thanking not only Blaine, but also her, for letting her crash on the couch. Lee shrugged again. ”Apparently it makes sense to her, since I’m your girlfriend,” she told Blaine. She couldn’t help but wonder if Blaine would question it, at least to himself, because of how short a time they had actually been together.
Blaine nodded with a slight shrug. "Well, I'm cool with it if you are," he said with a small smile. "Aunt Lee does have a nice ring to it, doesn't it?" he asked with a wink. Then, he looked back to Skye, who had managed to curl up on one little cushion of the couch, and was sleeping soundly. Blaine chuckled softly, looking back to Lee before grabbing a blanket and draping it over her.
"I forget not everyone keeps the same schedule as we do," he whispered to Lee as he put her soda in the fridge and finished the rest of his beer. "Poor girl must be wiped out. She's had a rough day, after all."
Then, he took Lee by the hand. "I'm not tired yet, but maybe we should go lay down a spell, eh?" he asked with a small smile, adding a wink for good measure.
Lee shrugged as she heard Blaine’s question. ”It’ll take some getting used to,” she told him. But as he continued, a blush of her own covered her cheeks. But Blaine noticed that Skye had fallen asleep before she did, and he was up and moving.
Lee couldn’t hide the smile as she watched him putting a blanket over the young woman before putting her drink in the fridge. For someone who had spent so much time alone as he had, never thinking he’d have any sort of relationship, romantic or otherwise, he was doing a pretty good job of taking care of his niece.
But then Blaine was back and grabbing her hand. And Lee couldn’t stop her grin from widening as she heard Blaine’s words and wink. Standing up, Lee walked with Blaine toward the bedroom. ”You know, I think that would probably be a good idea,” Lee said, leaning against Blaine’s arm for a moment before straightening up again.
Moments later, they were in the bedroom, door closed behind them, and Lee turned to face Blaine with a smile on her face. ”So, what exactly were you thinking?” Lee whispered as she stepped closer to Blaine, letting go of his hand to wrap her arms around his neck.
"Yeah, it will," he murmured, looking back at her. He had to smile, knowing that his family still cared about him--well, aside from his former sister-in-law, but he never really liked her, anyway.
He smiled as the door closed behind them and her arms wrapped around her neck, and his wrapped around her waist in response, pulling her closer. "I think you know," he murmured quietly, leaning down to plant a kiss on her forehead, almost teasing. Then, with a wink, he sat on the edge of the bed with his arms still around her, and brought her closer to kiss her gently; he was getting progressively more comfortable with that.
Oh, he thought she knew, did he? Well, hearing the tone in his voice, despite the take nature of the kiss he placed on her forehead, Lee was pretty sure she did know what Blaine meant, and she couldn't help the grin as she looked up at him.
And then he was moving, gently pulling her with him due to his arms around her waist so he could sit down on the bed. Not that Lee was fighting at all. Nor did she fight when Blaine pulled her closer against him as he sat there. As he started kissing her, Lee started relaxing against him, almost melting against his body. Though this kind of thing was becoming more frequent, Blaine initiating contact with her, kissing her first, was still...exciting. And yet at the same time, she was extremely comfortable with it, not at all worried.
Finally pulling back from the kiss slightly, just enough to be able to speak, Lee looked into Blaine’s eyes. ”Should we maybe lay down?”
