The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Who even went to the library, really? Definitely not Astrid. At least, not usually. On that day, she was there for very important faction-joining business. Such business, of course, required a computer. Since she did not have access to a computer, Astrid was forced to look to communal sources.
God, she hoped that no one would see her.
Astrid walked confidently across the fancy marble flooring, adoring the sound that her spiked black platform shoes made against the stone. She came to a little row of computers and sat down at the first one, tucking her wings behind her back. She sat up straight and pressed what she assumed was the 'on' button.
The computer booted up with a cheery little ding, telling her that it was indeed the 'on' button. She stared at the screen blankly before it eventually faded into a load screen.
Having used a computer all of twice in her life, Astrid wasn't entirely sure what to do next. She clicked around for a few minutes before something popped up which took her to the Internet. There was a little button in the corner that looked like a letter, so it made sense that it would be the email thingy.
She clicked on the icon, which led her to yet another load page. She waited for it to open and then stared at it blankly. It was all in English.
The young mutant put her head down on the keyboard and sighed.
Apparently, doing so was a good idea, as something popped up on the screen that said 'Français'. She clicked it automatically, and all the writing on the screen changed to French. This was going to be so much easier.
She readied her two forefingers in a downward position, and followed the instructions to make an email account.
A good five minutes later, she was set up with a fresh email account, complete with a rather stunned profile picture that she wasn't aware the computer was about to take. All she had to do next was email the address she had written down and wait for a response.
She typed in ambrosejaagersmanchest@ragnarok.org and copied and pasted her message from google translate.
Good afternoon, Ragnarok people. I would like to join your chaos faction very much.
Thank you,
Valkyrie.
The email sent off with a woosh noise, breaking the silent-except-for-typing rule. A couple of people turned their heads to glare at her, but only for a brief second.
Astrid sat back in her chair and stared at the screen. All she had to do next was wait for a reply.

Dear Valkyrie,
Thank you for your interest in a position at Ragnarok! We will be happy to have you, and you have been added to the email list. There is a compulsory faction picnic on October 17th, so mark it down on your calendar! If you are in need of housing accommodation, please click here.
Cheers,
The Rag Team (Cail Rendfur, Business Consultant)
Astrid perked up as soon as the computer dinged, letting her know that she had recieved an email. The tone of it was a bit less evil chaos faction like than she had assumed it would be, though. Instead, it took on more of a cheery feel. No matter, she was sure once she was doing stuff for the faction that her life would take on the tone she was hoping for.
Housing accommodation caught her eye big time. She hadn't expected that to even be an option, but since it was, joining the faction seemed one thousand times more worthwhile. She clicked on it eagerly and waited as the computer loaded a PDF form.

The PDF form showed Astrid a number of residence options that all resided underneath the Jaager Worldwide building. Huh. That was a strange place to put a chaos organization. What if the owners of the company found out about them? There were probably safeties put in place to make sure that never happened, Astrid figured. Technology could do amazing things.
She browsed through the options for a little while before deciding on one that looked suitable. She highlighted the title with the cursor and then clicked back to her new email account.
Dear Ragnarok person,
I would like to live in the 1 Person Room with Bathroom Suite please. Thank you.
Valkyrie.
She sent the last email to the same account, and then clicked around on the computer screen for a while. It didn't really look like it could do anything cool other than type. She really didn't understand what the fuss was all about.
In just a few short moments, she had received a reply.
Thank you for your promptness, Valkyrie. The room has been set aside for you. Please come to the Jaager Worldwide building to accept your key.
Cheers,
The Rag Team (Cail Rendfur, Business Consultant)
Astrid smiled as she read the email. No more hotel surfing for her. She closed down the computer and stood up from the chair. She was going to her new home.

Astrid half walked, half slid her way out of the library building. It seemed that someone had cleaned the floors while she had been on the computer or something, and mixed with the utter lack of grip on the bottom of her shoes, she had no hope of ever getting a grip on the floor.
She slid all the way until she was able to steady herself on the door. She grabbed onto the golden handle and hung on tightly, trying to get her feet back under her. After composing herself for a second, she pushed the door open and ventured out onto the streets of New York.
Her destination was already set, but she had a detour to make first. She had few belongings, but what she did have was important to her. Her cello, her shoes and clothes, and the little bit of money she still had were all locked up in a little storage locker a few blocks away.
She took off flying and made quick work of the journey. It wasn't far away, and a person could get places much faster when flying over buildings and traffic than on foot or in a car. Within a few minutes, she was at her locker. She rummaged around on her person to find the key, and eventually pulled it out. She swung the newly unlocked door open and grabbed the various items that were inside.
Once she was loaded up with her items, she took off again, that time in the direction of the very obvious Jaager Worldwide building. She landed in front of the building, and then looked up at the imposing structure. Where was she supposed to go to get the key?
The only real option seemed to be to just walk inside. So, she opened one of the huge front doors and stepped into the building.
