Here is a timeline for the Utopia Plot, along with some extra details that might not have been mentioned in the original discussion post.

-June 24th: First mass murder of mutants happens at a mutant shelter in Odessa, TX

-June 25th-July 23rd: Peace rallies happen at first, but the mass murder sparks feelings in the anti-mutant crowd that snowball until organized violence against mutants, and retaliatory actions by some mutants, become unnervingly common. It doesn’t help that META Bots everywhere have begun to malfunction and arrest all mutants, rather than just those committing crimes.

-July 24th: Massive riots occur in multiple cities exactly one month after the “Mutant Massacre.” Protestors on both side of the debate are involved, upset with the government’s lack of action. In New York, riots are sparked by an organized terrorist attack the day prior targeting the bridges and tunnels connecting Manhattan to the main land. (Some routes remain open, but many are out of commission pending repairs.)

-July 28th: Ambrose Jaager steps forward to suggest the concept of a new mutant-only nation, tentatively called “Utopia”

-July 28th-September 5th: International corporation Jaager Worldwide backs events for mutants discussing the possibility of Utopia so that all mutants can share their thoughts and have a voice in creating their country. Meanwhile, mutant leaders (suspiciously, many of whom are secretly connected to Ragnarok) are assembled to draft a constitution and plan the nation, acting as the mutant nation’s “Founding Fathers” (and Mothers).

-September 6th-September 24th: Mutants with powers that would be helpful to the building of the nation, which it was decided would reside in Antarctica, are called upon and hired to be the first to move to build the infrastructure of the nation

-September 25th: Utopia opens its borders to all mutants

-September 25th-November 3rd: Everything is smooth sailing, as mutants everywhere move to Utopia and try to become acclimated to an all-mutant society. Those who stay behind face the day-to-day challenges of being one of the few mutants left in their country, regardless of whether their country is more pro or anti-mutant leaning

-November 4th: Marks the first international conflict for Utopia. A young mutant girl in an anti-mutant country with little control of her power accidentally kills other citizens. Utopia defends the mutant and provides her with asylum. The event begins the stark division of the world into pro and anti-mutant camps

-November 5th-January 12th: Tensions get worse. Soon after the events of November 4th the Utopian NPC leader (who is secretly a Ragnarok puppet) founds the Utopian military, much to the disapproval of the anti-mutant world. Ragnarok is behind the scenes fanning the flames while the X-men are doing whatever they can to diffuse the situation. For most mutants in Utopia life is pretty ordinary

-January 13th: Utopia’s NPC leader increases military spending and encourages young, able-bodied mutants to enlist in preparation for a physical conflict

-January 14th-January 30th: It appears as if the poo will hit the fan

-January 31st: The NPC leader is assassinated with what looks like the involvement of an anti-mutant country. The same day the interim leader of Utopia announces a military draft

-February 1st-February 3rd: Militarization and the world is a scary place to live in

-February 4th: The X-men uncover evidence that the assassination was done internally and was meant to frame the anti-mutants, as well as that the malfunctioning of the META Bots was caused by the future government of Utopia to incentivize more mutants to immigrate)

-February 5th-February 29th: People living in Utopia are horrified by what almost happened and, with no more trust in their government, begin to immigrate back to their home countries

-February 20th-February 24th: A summit is held with the X-men representing mutant-kind to try to normalize world mutant/human relations, and the ultimate achievement is that mutants may return to their home countries under normal circumstances, being that thing will return to the way they were before the “Mutant Massacre”, in exchange for the META Bots remaining, providing that they are fixed to no longer arrest all mutants

-February 29th- end: On 2/29 Utopia shuts down. Things go back to the way they were, but there is slightly less trust between humans and mutants. JW still holds its same reputation along with Ambrose Jaager, as there was no connection between them and the corrupted mutant government

I'm on board with this. I'm presently abroad visiting family, but just let me know when you need me and I'll be around to do it. For the NPC politician, though - who's in charge of creating him/her, or should I just roll with whatever when "making arrangements" for Utopia IC?

Ok sounds great! And we should probably figure out in advance who this NPC should be for the sake of planning. Does anyone (including you Ambrose) have an NPC idea they'd like to suggest? If not I can make one.

I have some suggestion details for this npc. I may have been considering using them for a character but nope yet another goody goody beat him out.

Dramatic, and wholly bent on being the Most Important Figurehead Ever tm. Fond of capes, unique hairstyles, and super vivid ornamentation/decoration. Really outgoing and showy, wants all the glory and none of the thinking.

So the plan is this (for those of you not on the cbox when it was discussed): We propose for the NPC leader to be a mixture of the ideas set forth by Adder and Astrid. Should this suggestion meet no resistance then I'll post a character profile for him. The plan is a middle aged mutant man with blue skin and the mutation of the power of persuasion. Should he choose, he can talk and those without exceptionally strong willed minds will listen (with limits, of course). He is a power hungry sloth who wants to be in charge and have the whole world looking at him in a lol his glory, minus the effort and thinking that would be needed to actually run a nation, his making him the perfect puppet for Ragnarök - er, I mean...to lead mutant kind! Yeah...that...

I like the timeline a lot, and already have plans for where I can hop in, and how I can respond. November 4th sounds wild.

There is plenty of room for military and X-men and police ideology clashes. I'll comment more if I get some more ideas.

So are the IC events going to be carried out in real time? For example, on the 24th, there'll be a plot post about the massacre?

We're going to (hopefully) launch on the 24th. How it's going to work I believe is that when RL reaches a new timeline point threads pertaining to that time may begin, but you can take as long as you need to finish threads from earlier in the plot

Sounds good! May I suggest, though, that Ragnarok attacks the peace summit? Otherwise, Ragnarok is never revealed to the public as the group behind the whole Utopia disaster, and it really should be.

Oh are you okay with that? Cause if so that would be fantastic. I thought you'd want Ragnarök to leave unaffected once it became apparent that the Utopia plan to end the world failed
