The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Of course," Doc Prof smiled. He moved over to where Ashton had already seated himself, and made with the healing. It didn't take long. He didn't give a play by play about it, but understood what had happened. Head trauma, though not as severe as the redhead's, and a small cut just above the eyebrow. That sealed itself up, leaving just the red remnants of the wound from where it bled. That, they could clean up on their own. "There," he finished. "That wasn't so bad, now was it? You two are police officers, I see. That was a nasty turn with the car."
Car crash, he'd mentioned, but not 'cop'. "Is it really that obvious?" Ashton had to quirk an eye.
Doc Prof smiled, and arched one right back. "I saw your squad car when I relived how you got your head wound. It's no cheap parlor trick, son."

No. It sure wasn't a cheap parlor trick, Quin decided as she watched the Doctor heal Ashton's head wound. Reliving every injury a person healed would be overwhelming, but somehow this old man kept the sparkle in his eye. She wanted to "HA" at Ashton...she respected this man despite the fact that he lived in the Mansion, and worked in the Mansion.
At least that was how the man had figured out that they were police. Quin would have hated to have left one of her favorite shirts behind for nothing.
"We didn't realize it had gotten that bad." the redhead said honestly, "In hindsight, it was probably stupid not to pay attention."
Funny how easy it was to see things like that when your head wasn't split.

"You're police officers," Doc Prof shrugged his shoulders. "If not you, who else would go out and help people in this crisis?" After all, it was their job.
Ashton was surprised the guy hadn't said 'X-men'. He did his best not to shoot a look Quin's way... and blinked as he succeeded.
"Er, yeah." He agreed. "We should have avoided that pig man, though... I liked that car." He was glad he hadn't been driving his own car. That would have been worse. "Thanks, by the way. For the heals."
Doc Prof shrugged his shoulders. "I'm a doctor. It's what I do."

They were Police...it was what they did. He was a doctor...it was what he did. Quin nodded her head and looked around the infirmary. It was equipped better than some of the lower budget hospitals in the lower boroughs. That was great for people in the Mansion...and Quin wondered for a moment if the Doc usually healed people with injuries as minor as hers and Ashton's had been.
"We won't keep you any longer." Quin said, unsure of exactly what they were going to do now.

"Yeah," He confirmed, meeting her gaze. He broke it a moment later, hands pushing his knees to shove off the chair. "We should probably get back to the station. Check in, let people know we're alright."
Again, Doc Prof nodded.
Ashton looked to Quin, then started for the door. The old man made no moves to stop them. It didn't seem like he had any grudges against police officers. As they went out the door, the only words out of his lips were a casual 'Take Care'. The door closed, leaving Archer and Drake in the hall, alone.

The doctor had been so unbelievably nice, Quin smiled and gave him a little wave as she made her way out into the hall behind Ashton. The door shut, and they were alone in the hallway. To be honest, Quin was still incredibly irritated with her partner, and didn't really feel like she had a lot to say to him at the moment.
Unfortunately, he had been her ride home, and he was right. They needed to check in with the Precinct because by now, they'd surely seen the car number on the black and white that was currently residing on its roof in the middle of the street.
"You call the Precinct, I'll see about getting a cab. If we skirt the bad areas, we should at least be able to make it back to the station."

A nod.
It didn't take Ashton long to find a landline in the mansion. He talked with someone about using a phone, and made the call. Better a landline than a walkie talkie, he'd decided. And it was.
Their ride arrived, and the two of them got in silently in front of the mansion. They still hadn't addressed their earlier conversation. They sat in the back. In front of other officers, it wasn't likely they'd finish the conversation either. Off, the car drove, into the night.
