The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Ty nodded, grabbing one of those rolling tables suited for hospital beds to her, and putting the food on it before sitting next to her and sliding her the bag and her drink. He felt bad that he'd taken so long. But he was back now, and he wasn't going anywhere else. Not without her.
Pulling out his own burger, he began to eat it, though he wasn't very hungry for some reason. Probably something to do with the events of the evening. But at least they were together now. Halfway through his burger, Ty looked down at Tses ankle, staring at the cuff for a moment, thinking intently.
"Hmmm....I wonder how easy that lock would be to pick..." he thought out loud, sort of wondering quietly. "Or....maybe I should call a nurse in here and ask..."
Tses felt better when he took a seat next to her, and accepted the food that was placed in front of her. She was silent until she took a few bites of food, and the hungry grumbling in her stomach started to settle a bit. She fished for french fries, enjoying the deep fried taste, and was secretly glad he left to get the food instead of feeding her something from the hospital. When he spoke about the cuff though, she just sighed. "At this point, I don't even want to mess with it... I'm exhausted... as long as I'm not sleeping in a jail cell, I'll deal with it."
She finished off her food, heart rate slowly returning to normal, and thankfully the sandwich hadn't been too hard to hold with only one hand. Wiping her fingers on a napkin, she felt exhausted against, and felt herself scooch next to Ty and put her head on his shoulder, shutting her eyes. When she did, she could almost convince herself she was somewhere else, and the terrible day hadn't happened. Behind her eyes, the screaming, gunfire, blood and pain started to sink away, and it was replaced with the simple comfort she could enjoy now.
Ty had a soft man smell that she tried to identify. Even after running all over the place, she could pick it out somewhere on his clothes. She had gotten used to it from wearing his old jacket, and she realized for a moment that it was still in her apartment, along with her combat boots and several other important possessions. She dreaded going back there now, and seeing the scene of it all. She dreaded trying to think of anything from this point.
She still would have to go to trial, and man up to her shoplifting charges, probably. Maybe she could get a good lawyer to help her out, but if things went bad, she would be stuck alone in prison for who knows how long. Honestly, being a thief never bothered her before; being caught never seemed like a reality. But, it was something to sort out another time. At least getting injured stalled that fate....
"Have you ever been to a movie at the movie theatre?" She felt herself asking quietly.

"Okay. I was gunna see if I could crack it. But...I'll stay with you as long as you're here, if that's what you want," he said softly as he finished his food, balling up his bag and tossing it into the trash can across the room, somewhat shocked it actually went in.
It was a nice surprise when she lay her head on his shoulder, and he leaned his head against hers, relaxing a bit as he too scooted a little closer to her.
"I was really little last time I went to a theater. I forget what we saw, but we went as a family. Me, Mom, and...Him." Ty wouldn't say his name now. "But maybe it's something we could do sometime, if you wanted." He closed his eyes a little, just loving this time together.
Tses nodded her head a little, pulling her blankets tighter around her with her hand before setting it on his. "I think I'd like that." She responded, and tried to imagine what it would be like, and if he's consider it another 'date'. She could still hear all the noise from the hospital, but it was getting later, so fewer people were around. This area of the hospital had only the basic traffic now, of workers caring for the overnight patients, and she dreaded thinking she was staying here that long.
There were footsteps outside suddenly, and a nurse paused, knocking on the door of the room before peaking her head in. She looked kinder than most of the hospital workers they'd seen so far, and smiled slightly when she saw Tses with her head on Ty's shoulder. Tses let her eyes flutter open slightly for a second, but she was quickly shut them again, unwilling to face someone from here. As far as she was concerned, she hated anything that wore one of those evil uniforms.
"I need to check on her dressings... sorry to bother." She said, and Tses murmured and pulled the blanket over her head. The nurse sighed and walked over. "If you want to get out of here sooner, you need to make sure you're healing properly." Tses just planted her head against Ty's shoulder, trying to will her away. The nurse glanced hopefully at Ty, as if he could do something.

"I'll make a note then. As soon as all this is settled, I'll take you to a movie."He smiled softly, leaning into her. He'd definitely consider it another date. But every moment he spent with her was special; even this. Things were starting to slow down, but he knew she didn't want to be there all night. If she did anyway, he'd still stay with her.
When the nurse came in, Ty looked at her, patting her hand, nuzzling her a bit. "Tses, if we let her do what she needs to, you can go home sooner."
From his shoulder, there was a murmuring sound that sounded something like 'I don't want to'. But Tses kept her head buried, and didn't seem to be willing to move herself anytime soon. As the nurse stepped forward and gently pulled back the blanket, she flinched, and grabbed Ty's fingerings in that less romantic, more panicked way, tails digging into his skin. The nurse looked flustered for a second, then sighed and mouthed 'distract her', before reaching out and loosening the back of the gown.
"We're going to have to do this whether or not you want to, dear." She sighed, and slid the fabric off Tses' shoulder just enough to reveal the blood soaked bandage. She gently touched the corner where the edge of the bandage was strapped down, and Tses snarled slightly in pain, sounding like a pissed of cat.
"mrhllfhrrr, that hurrt." She growled, and pressed her forehead hard against Ty's shoulder. The nurse sighed apologetically, but continued to pull it back enough the wound was visible. Tses could feel cold air sting her shoulder, and it burned along the line of the edges of it like an angry fire. Bones, skin and muscles were screaming in anger, and she felt tears unwillingly prickle her eyes. For modesty's sake, the nurse manage to remove the bandage without taking the straps off, and set it on the tray she'd brought in for disposal. She dabbed the bits of blood rising up to the surface, little dribbles of red drawn to the outside air, but thankfully it wasn't bleeding as bad as it could have been.
She then picked up a bottle of anesthetic, and sighed. "This isn't going to feel any better...." She warned, and Tses said a few choice words into Ty's arm. Once again, the nurse gave him a 'do something/distract her' glance.

Ty gave the nurse a confused look, like 'What am I supposed to do?' Ty squeezed her hand, ignoring the sharp pain that rushed through his own as her nails dug in. He leaned into her, nuzzling as his mind raced on what to do and his girlfriend muttered curses into his arm.
Sighing, he figured here went nothing. He took his glove off of his left hand with his teeth again, then turned on his side just a little, gently starting to massage the back of her neck. Hopefully it would relax and distract her enough. Just in case it didn't, he shot the nurse an apologetic glance. He hated seeing her like this, more than anything.
His hair fell over his eyes, and he just continued trying to soothe her while the nurse tried to do her job. But Ty had to admit, if he and Tses had swapped places, he probably wouldn't be any more cooperative than she was.
Tses felt Ty's hand on her neck, and the action was surprisingly comforting. Her hand started to unclench a little, and she almost forgot the pain about to meet her. The window of opportunity was all the lady needed.
The nurse took the band-aid approach with the situation: She got an almost cotton-ball like piece of cloth, dabbed it with the solution, and quickly pressed it against Tses's skin before the girl could react. Tses jumped slightly, muscles re-clenching and mouth spitting a number of loud profanities thankfully muffled by Ty's arm. One hand was still flat against her body, the other clenched around Ty's hand, so thankfully, there was no retaliation Tses could do. She did lift her head just long enough to shoot a murderous glare of her shoulder, before paling at the sight of the hospital room and returning to the boys arm.
With deft hands, the nurse quickly re-bandaged the shoulder and adjusted the straps. Then she retied the hospital gown and moved to Tses's feet and hands. Within a few minutes, she was done, and gave a little smile to Ty. "She's doing pretty good, considering. If that shoulder keeps looking how it is, you may be out of here tomorrow, so long as someone is at home to help."
She picked up her tray, and left not expecting a glowing thank you from the mutant, and Tses didn't move her head from Ty's arm. "I hate hospitals..." She snarled bitterly.

Ty continued massaging her neck as the nurse did what she had to do. "I'll be around to help," he volunteered, still massaging. He rubbed her hand with his thumb, trying to keep her calm. He hated being here almost as much as she did, but he sure wasn't leaving her again.
The nurse left, and Ty stopped massaging, looking softly at Tses. "I know, I hate 'em too. But you'll be outta here before you know it. Try to get some sleep, then we'll wake up tomorrow and hopefully we can get you home tomorrow." He ran a hand through her hair, brushing it out of her face.
Tses wished her head were muddled again; it would make these awful feelings she felt easier to handle. There was a side of her that enjoyed this.... having someone comfort her, look out for her, be there for her. But the rest of her felt almost as terrified of it as she was about the hospital. What would happen if he did left? What would happen if she got him hurt next? What would happen if she let herself keep caring, and then she lost, and found herself alone again. Memories trickled to the surface of her consciousness, drifting past in a river of thought.
She was ten years old, sitting in a hospital bed in an all too white room. The nurse had left, and she sat frozen, staring at her bandaged arms. Her heart thundered in her throat, and she tried to drown out the noises around her, but ever second just made them grow louder. The IV thundered, the heart monitor pulsed, and the tubes in her arm prickled her skin. In her head, the nurses words replayed over and over. "You've been in a coma for nearly a year, and well...She doesn't know."
How could she let her sister, her baby sister, be left alone for that long... how could she let this happen. They said she was doing fine, which was good, but that meant she wasn't needed now. She was here in this hospital, surrounded by white walls, and no one cared. No one missed her, no one came. And she would continue to be alone, with no one to come rescue her.
She yanked the tubes out of her arm, and stumbled to her feet, pulling the rest of the monitors from her skin. She slid on the tile, as the monitors started to blare from being disconnected, then skittered through the hallway, ducking into an empty corridor. Different workers moved past, and she moved with fierce determination towards her escape. If no one was going to come for her, she was going to rescue herself.
She felt Ty's hand run through her hair, little tingles springing down her nerves and chills running down her spine. She pulled her blanket back across her, and shifted, moving so her face rested against his chest instead of his arm. Tears trickled down her cheeks, and she looked up at him, then back away towards the wall. "I don't want to loose you.... I feel better when you're with me."

Ty smiled, continuing to run his fingers through her hair as she lay her head on his chest. Eyes closed, he stroked her hand gently, just enjoying this rare moment of closeness. Despite the circumstances, it was nice. He felt tears sting his eyes when she spoke, however, and part of him wondered what she was thinking.
"Tses...you won't lose me," he said with a small cross between a smile and a frown. His eyes were soft as he looked down at her. "I promise I'm not leaving you. You'll have me as long as you want me around," he murmured, kissing her cheek. "I feel better with you around, too. You're very special to me. So trust me, you're not going to lose me."
Tses felt her body stiffen as he kissed her, and she tried to keep herself from pulling away. But moments after he finished talking, she sat up suddenly, her head spinning a little as she did. Pushing down the faint nausea, she turned to face him, letting go of his hand to put her hair out of her face. Her gaze was intense on him, looking for any sign he was lying. She needed to know he was telling the truth, even it if meant risking the moment.
"What about when I'm not like this. What about when I'm yelling and screaming and throwing things? What about when I'm antisocial and not good about being around you." She sad back on her legs and wiped the tears from her eyes. "You'll stay around then? If I push you away, or run away, or try to avoid you? I don't worry about you.... I worry about me, and what I'd do to you..." She'd cross her arms, but her arm was still tight against her, and she fiddled with her blankets instead.

Ty looked at her, sitting up, a very somber and respectful expression on his face as he listened to her questions. And they were very good ones, at that. "I have to admit," he said softly, "those times aren't always easy. But to me, you're worth it. The times like we had on Christmas, or today, or that time we're planning for the movies...they're well worth it to me. Yeah, I might leave like that one time at your apartment when things get ugly. But it's those times when I'm giving you the space you need. I'll always be back." He gave a small smile and a nod.
"When I'm sure you've calmed down, or when I think you've had some time alone, I come back. Though..." he paused. "I won't be leaving you in your sleep again...That time tore me up too much. Tses, I know I can be aggravating, and I know you have a hard time accepting these feelings you have for me, but...I'm willing to stick with you through thick and thin. Good times are fun, but it's the bad, rough places that test the real strength of a relationship."
Tses watched his expressions as he talked. He looked her in the eyes, not away, which was a good sign, although it was hard for her to look back and she had to resist glancing away. Eye contact was something personal to her, something you didn't just give away. She tended to guard her emotions, keep them buried inside, but Ty tried hard to show how genuine he was, and she noticed it. It calmed her nerves a little, and she adjusted her sitting position, the metal cuff clinking slightly on the bedside. She ignored it for now. At least the conversation distracted her, and at least the nurse was gone.
"Relationship..." She repeated the word, almost like learning a new concept. It was the way a child tried to place a new noun with the object it connected to, as she turned the sound over in her mind. She looked at him, almost like she was studying him, and trying to decide what he was to her. Was he a boyfriend? Did she want him as one? Did she want to sit here and let him be there for her? did she want him to go away, and stay on her own, because that was what she always did. This, relationship.... "It's volatile, whatever type of relationship this is...." She found herself saying, the larger word one of the few she knew. But it fit. They were an unstable pair, trying to find some sort of balance, some sort of stability. She was emotionally resistive and he was far too patient sometimes for her to handle.
"Do you think it has a chance." she felt herself asking. "Honestly? Do you think we could work out?"

Ty looked at her, thinking. "Yeah...it is unpredictable, sometimes," he admitted.
"I have my hopes that we can make it work. I'm willing to do everything in my power to make it work to the best of my ability. I don't expect it to be easy, but I've found everything and everyone worth keeping is worth fighting for. But up until now, I was afraid of a fight. I was quick to run, and as a result quick to lose people. For you, I'm willing to try. No...I'm willing to try for us."
His face got a new seriousness to it, though deep in his eyes, beyond that burning intensity and determination, that sweetness he felt towards her was still there.
