The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tses gave a little head nod, and her face didn't change. She seemed to contemplate his answer, putting it aside in the back of her mind. "Noted." Was all she said, and she gave another little nod to herself, intentionally torturing him by not telling him whether she would also like that or not. Even groggy, she wasn't going to let him get her that easily.
She did, however, reach up with her hand and feel for the necklace he gave her. Thankfully, it was still there, and she closed her fingers around the tiny crescent moon for a second before putting her hand back down by the bed. It was almost like an invitation for him to take it. Then again, she was playing very hard to get right now.

Her reaction left him wondering, though that was probably to be expected by now. She was doing it on purpose...she had to be. Warily, Ty slid his chair back to her bedside, looking at her hand.
His mind was wandering as he looked from her face to her hand. His gloves were in his pants pocket, and at first he put his hands in his jacket pocket, feeling not one, but two tigers--one in each pocket. Withdrawing his hands, he pulled out the white one, setting it on her stomach before finally reaching out to take her hand.
"I took the little guy with me. Figured you'd want him, and I didn't feel right leaving him there," he said, changing the subject.
A smile finally crossed her face, and she smirked at the little guy. With her strapped up arm, she managed to grab him by the tail and pulled him against her so he was partially held by her hand and partially held by the bandages. His large little glass eyes almost looked like they had been worried about her as well. "Hey, it's my little guard tiger."
She felt him take her hand, and peered at him from the corner of her eye, acting stern again. Then she smiled and gave his hand a squeeze. "Fine, you brought my tiger, you can have my hand for now." She stuck her tongue out at him. "But I have a image to uphold, and this whole hospitalized, cuddling with a stuffed animal, hand holding thing isn't helping it much." She grumbled.

Ty smiled, then blinked at her comments on 'image.' "True," he replied. "I'll let go if anyone walks in then. Keep the hand, holding, cuddling, and all that to a minimum when people are around." He stuck his tongue out as well, then blushed as a thought came to him.
"So I guess what happened before I was kicked out is unspeakable?" he asked quietly, though as soon as those words left his mouth he wondered how smart it was to bring that up. He then bit his lip for awhile, not saying anything.
"So, I think they'll be letting you home soon...?"
Before he was kicked out... Tses felt her eyes go up so she could mentally retrace what happened before he left. She remember them stepping forward, him promising to help her....Then her face turned red and she felt color tint her terribly pale face. It felt like an instant sunburn. She coughed, and glanced over her shoulder towards the window, ignoring the prickles of pain it gave her, then, almost shyly, she glanced back at him. Trying to ignore the pulse rising in her throat, she feigned innocence; which, by itself, was so out of character it looked desperate more than anything.
"What do you mean before you got kicked out?"
He tried to change the subject, moving towards when she'd get out of here, and she fiddled with the sheet covering her. "I have no idea... It'll probably be a bit... I lost a lot of blood and my shoulder's pretty screwed up... plus.... they'd want me to go somewhere where someone would 'look after me', and I doubt my cat neighbor would qualify." She muttered, and shrugged then muttered a string of muffled profanities as the movement sent a shot of pain through her arm. Her nails unwillingly clenched into his hand, and she gave him an apologetic glance.

"True...But you know I'm not leaving you, so...as far as someone to look after ya...well there we go," he said. He didn't really mind when her nails dug into his hand, it was more or less just surprising. Painful, but not too bad, really.
His free hand fiddled with his jacket. "Well, the nurse came back with more drugs, and the jackass--I mean...the cop told me once you were out, I had to leave. Well, we said our goodbyes, I promised I'd be back for you, and I'd get you out of here. Then we kissed..." He looked away, blushing so red he was almost purple, and he was sure his face had a pulse and he was very hot all of a sudden. He let out a nervous cough.
The blond haired girl fiddled with the tiger in her hands, and listened as he said he wouldn't leave her. Her mind was clearing up a bit though, so she was slightly embarrassed by the statement. "You don't have to stay, you know... I mean, I'll be fine." Her voice seemed to crack a little as she thought of being in the hospital alone. Stuck in this dumb bed, dumb hospital gown, with nothing but her dumb tiger---well, ok he was kinda cute---to keep her company. Part of her hoped he was being stubborn and would try to stay. Part of her hated being stuck like this, with nothing but small talk to pass the time. But part of her dreaded trying to avoid talking about stuff with him that long. In a way, he had her cornered right now. She couldn't really avoid conversations if she wanted him to stay.
Which... may be why he came back to the topic of the kiss. She glanced away and her cheeks turned red, and she felt like her hand was sweaty, She longed for her hand wraps again, as her skin was against his without the bits of fabric seemed much more intimate. She was glad she cut her arms at this point... at least he wouldn't see the rest of her arms. To Tses, revealing any skin was like being caught in a towel: mortifying. Momentarily, she realized the hospital gown really didn't offer much coverage, and she swore to herself never to need to use the bathroom when he was present.
"So.... you kissed me before.... you just lucked out I didn't hit you this time." She murmured. She lied to herself: she didn't kiss him back, she didn't.... And if she did, she was drugged. That was a good excuse, right?

"You should know by now I don't do anything because I have to," he replied with a light chuckle. "I want to." He gave her hand somewhat of a squeeze. "I said I wouldn't leave you, so unless you straight up tell me to go to hell, I've got your back," he added with a nod. He didn't want to, but if she wanted him to leave her alone, he would. He wouldn't like it, but he would.
"Yeah...lucky," he murmured with a small sigh. That's all it was, dumb luck. He tried not to let his face drop at this. Tried his hardest not to do what she called the 'sad puppy' thing. In his mind, she was worth every bit of the effort, but it was times like this when he really wondered exactly what it was going to take. What it was going to take for her to see him the way he saw her. To feel about him the way he did her.
Tses fidgeted as he spoke, and rubbed her thumb across the back of his hand still trying not to look up at him, but still appreciative of his gesture. She didn't know what it was like for him finding her in the hospital, trying to track her down, dealing with the police and all that shit. She drug him through hell, and even now her careful way of dancing away from him was making things difficult. She sighed, and gave him a sort smile. He made her want to try to be someone he deserved to be around. But it was not a transformation that could happen right away.
"You're a little bit too sweet to be stuck with someone like me." She said, looking at his face. She fidgeted, and sighed at the unhappy way he murmured, but forced herself to create eye contact with him, so he could see she was serious, and not just pulling his strings. Lucky.... No, he wasn't just lucky. At least, not that time.
"I kissed you back for a reason... " The words came out difficult at first, but it felt better admitting it. Her cheeks got a tint to them again, but she tried to keep looking back at him. "You matter to me... I'm just not good at showing it, and especially not good at accepting it. " Her hair fell down across her eyes, and she ignored it for now. She was trying to at least make Ty feel better.

"I'm not stuck," Ty corrected."You gave me chance after chance to walk away and leave you be." He squeezed her hand. "But I'm still here." He gave her a small smile.
"Well, I for one, am glad. We all have different ways of showing and reacting to our feelings," Ty said softly. "You don't have to be good at showing or accepting it. Because as of today, I know you do feel the same way, even if it is deeper down. But no matter what, I'm here to stay. I'll be there for you as long as you'll have me."
"Stubborn pain in the ass." Tses murmured as he declared his continued presence by her side, but then she gave him a small smile. Ok, so he was sort of a pain in the ass sticking around, but it was sort of sweet, in that irritating kind of way. It was too much cute to handle sometimes though, and she stuck her tongue out at him.
Tses wiggled and curled up on her side, burying her face in the pillow, as her stomach gave a little rumble. She grumbled for a second into the all too clean case, and her voice came out slightly muffled by the fabric. "Do they feed people in hospitals?" She asked.
In her arms, the stuffed tiger peered at Ty, little glass eyes looking like they were pouting for food. In the areas where her arm wasn't bandaged, little pale flesh colored scars blended in with her pale skin. With all the talking and laughing, her voice still sounded quiet and lacked her normal energy.
With her eyes shut and her face buried into the pillow, she could hear the sounds of the hospital around her. People walked past in the hallway, the iv dripped next to her, and she was reminded of the awful tube still strapped to her arm. She could hear the monitor of her heart beep, beep, beepbeepbeeepbeep as her stress level rose a bit more, and she tried to shut it out, clutching Ty's hand tighter. But it wasn't working like she hoped. It was like being trapped in a box, and if she closed her eyes and distracted herself for awhile, maybe she was ok; then she started panicking, and didn't know how to calm it.
"Gaw I hate these dumb tubes!" She growled suddenly, and let go of his hand, reaching for the aweful things, determined to pull them out.

"Can't argue with you there," Ty said with a small smile. "But I'm glad you're willing to put up with me. When I say you're the closest person to me, I mean it. I've never let anyone in this far. As far as feeding...I'll be right back." He started to stand up, then looked at her as she started pulling on the tubes.
"I'll be right back. Please, keep those in? I'll be back with food soon, I promise. Then maybe we'll see about getting you out of here, okay?" Standing up, he walked out of the room. But he was gone for awhile. Much longer than a run down the hall to the cafeteria or kitchen...
When he returned, he carried two bags of food, from a nearby fast food joint. "You missed meal-time. They ate at six, so I ran and got you something from the burger joint down the street." He held up one bag. "Bacon Cheeseburger?" Then he held up the other. "Or Chicken club sandwich? Also with bacon. I also got you a side of fries and a soda."
When Ty left to get food, Tses felt the stress starting to rise again. Every sound, every sight around her made her panic more, and she tried to breathe deeply, and keep her stress at bay. He promised he'd be back soon.... it'll be ok..." She told herself, pulling the sheets tight up to her face and clutching the stuffed tiger for dear life. But she couldn't convince herself to be calm.
She was sure the passing nurses would have chuckled at the sight if they saw her. Rather than the ferocious mutant they heard about who beat up three officers, they now had a terrified childish mutant who was clinging to a stuffed animal in the middle of her hospital bed. She wiggled her pillow down into her arms, and buried her face in it, trying to shut everything out. Her movements tugged on her stitches and bandages, sending sharp throbs of pain through her body. But the faster her heart beat, the less she seemed to worry about her injuries.
Drip, drip, drip...
The IV loomed over the bedside, the fluids dribbling down the tube towards her arm. The plastic bandaged to her skin and the line pressed into her wrist grew more unbearable with every second, and she reached for it, then stopped herself, clutching the pillow harder. He promised he'd come back... he promised he'd come back.
Beep beep, beep beep, beep beep....
The heart monitor sounded like a roar on her ears, and she longed to throw something at it, but the only objects available were the stuffed animal and the pillow. Every blip of her heart beat just made her more alarmed, and she felt like she was being stabbed in the head with the noises. He promised he'd be back! He promised he'd be back! She yelled in her head, pulling the pillow over her head desperately.
Shuffle, shuffle, shuffle....
Murmer, murmer, murmer....
Scratch scratch scratch...
Nurses moved to and fro, and their little activities grew more deafening, more unbearable. She couldn't stay here, couldn't handle it.... She had to get out of here, or she was going to scream! He promised he'd come back, he promised he'd come back....
"You better get the hell back..." Tses muttered feebly, and yanked the blankets over her head, curling up at the bottom where she could wrap her arms around her cuffed leg. She was in a little fetal position, a tangle of sheets and pillows and stuffed animals and yanked several of her wounds hard enough to elicit long streams of cursing from her mouth. But the end result left her buried in a cocoon, a tiny mound of shaking figure, with a tiny stuffed tiger barely peeking out from the covers, giant glass eyes guarding the door.
It felt like eternity when she heard footsteps, and the boys voice returned. He was talking about the foods he went to get, and where he'd been, meanwhile she peeked through a tiny sliver in the sheets with wide terrified eyes and squeaked, voice sounding nearly tearful. "You promised you'd be back soon."

Ty gave a sad nod. "I know...I'm really sorry....I had to find someone and ask about meal time. Found out the cafeteria closed, so I had to uhm...well, I had to get money, then I had to walk to a good joint, wait in line, get the food, then run all the way back." Upon closer inspection, the boy's hair was matted with sweat, and he was slightly winded.
"But I came back as fast as I could. And I brought food! With...bacon?" He gave a small smile. "Whichever one you want, I'll take the other. And again, I'm sorry that took longer than expected. Besides...hospital food woulda sucked anyway? And what DOES taste good will give you an all expense paid, three day trip to the bathroom..."
Slowly, Tses pulled the covers down so her face could peek through, and the tiny tiger shifted back to the crook in her arm. The food did smell good, and if nothing else, it took away the nasty clean smell of the room. Slowly, she wiggled her way painfully into a sitting position, making a number of faces and spitting a number of dirty words, before turning and glancing at the food he had. She debated for a second, and tried to choose.
"I guess chicken..." She said, trying to compose herself. She fiddled with the metal around her ankle for a second, then scooted, and motioned next to her so he could sit on the bed too if he wanted. All the movement was making her dizzy, and she hoped the food would help at least give her some of her strength back.
