The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"It's not like they know everything," Ty snapped. "A 'you're welcome' would've been just fine. Suck up... he muttered mentally at the boy's questions to Syn. What, was he like hitting on her or something? Then, she told Ty to hand over the gun and leave the room. Usually, that wouldn't have blown over so well, no matter who she was or how good Ty thought she looked. He liked to weigh all of his options when given an order like this. Especially from someone he just met.
But he gave over the gun, just that easily. Only a nod and a polite hand-over was all it took, then he walked out of the room, leaning up against the wall. He didn't know why he obeyed her, he really didn't. He hadn't even hesitated or thought about it.
At her word, the man walked back into the room. They just left? "Makes sense," Ty said. "They were only ever tough when they thought they had an edge. Back 'em into a corner? They'll tuck tail and run." He brushed his hair out of his face; part of him wanted to at least see what all kind of loot they had stored back there...
Miles was thankful that Ty had managed to get the gun before any harm could have happened to Syn. Imagine that. A world without Syn? Not worth living in. However, in the state he was in, giving thanks was the least of his concerns. His one concern was obeying Syn. She'd told them to leave the room and like a good little lapdog, he followed through with it, because it was Syn, you know? Syn, Syn, Syn, Syn, Syn, Syn...
Also... Syn.
It didn't make sense for her to deal with those criminals on her lonesome, much less without the dogs protecting her, but if that's what she wanted, that's what she got. She had a way with words and maybe she could convince them to just plain leave them alone, because she was awesome like that, and hey, she had a gun, which could make quite a convincing argument for anybody.
A minute or two later, she called them back. No shots were fired, which was good and the intruders left of their own volition. See? A musclebound six foot tall oaf and a mohawked ex-gunman turned tail and ran, just like Fisher said. Why?
Because Syn.
Still, he was concerned for her. "Are you okay, Syn? Did everything go well? You don't need me for anything else, do you?" he asked, with pleading, mercifully begging, spare-me eyes.
A subtle stretch was all she had time for when Miles and Ty reentered the room. She watched them both and waited for their comments regarding the now departed Gene and Mitch. She was ready if either had any questions.
Ty started up first, but he merely went along with the story. Maybe what she said was an actual fact. Most people would leave when told to do so at gun point let alone while under her command. His reaction was rather collected and calm.
Miles on the other hand…was a drastically different reaction. He was hardly even concerned with the two missing intruders. The boy was acting like a love sick puppy. When she attempted to answer his question about being ok he continued with some other rather bothersome questions.
Tilting her head a bit while looking at the pair she thought for a moment. Let’s see. First you hit a stranger with a stick while trying to see if your dogs could follow more complex commands. To make matters worse, after the stranger starts talking to you about discovering his new ability you throw the stick again. This time disrupting a wedding because your dogs ran through it. Resulting with some rather angry men who go looking for the dogs which just so happen to come back to you while you stand next to me. Our dear new acquaintance Ty decides it’s a great time to go steal things and passes out. You spot that as your cue to leave me alone with dogs I can’t even control while confronting several angry and armed men. Thus resulting in the wedding massacre because I had to get us out of there. Next we come to Ty’s old hang out just in time for his old buddies to show up and pull a gun on us. Once again I step in and save your sorry butts. You two OWE me.
Smiling her perfectly practiced smile she straightened up. The room still had plenty of her influence to ensure her hold over them. “You know boys. There is something else as a matter of fact. For all the trouble you put me through today, and having to deal with your bickering I do believe I deserve some payback.” The dark angel looked at them both, and smiled like a cheshire cat while pulling out her cell and aiming the camera at them. “You two need to kiss on the mouth and make up.”

Oh wow...that was wrong on so many levels. It was just...ew! And yet...Ty was compelled to obey. He didn't know why, but everything Syn said....he'd comply to.
So, the red-head turned to face Miles, and leaned in...
Suddenly... awesome Syn was not so awesome anymore.
Didn't she mean "You two need to shake hands and make up?" Or maybe "WE two need to kiss on the mouth and make up"? She explained her reasons but was this really necessary? Did they bicker that much?
Oh well, at least it wasn't "You two need to kiss on the mouth and make OUT."
Every. Single. Fiber. In his being resisted this. Of all the wonderful ideas Syn ever had, this was the most nonsensical, and yet a part in his brain felt compelled to obey. There was something about the woman that simply made Miles' will turn to mush and wish to please her in whatever ways he could. Oh, she could have thought of many, MANY other ways for him to please her, but no, she wanted her payback. She wanted to see this done, and not just done...
Recorded.
Ty's face started leaning towards Miles and the boy gave one last, final, pleading look to Syn that simply said 'I'm so, so sorry' but while a part of him wanted to lean back and elbow Ty on the jaw, a stronger part forced him... to lean forward.
Their lips came closer... closer... CLOSER... AAAAAAAANNNDDD.....
They kissed.
There was no exchange of spit, no eyes closing, no moaning, no hugs, no passion and definitely NO TONGUE. That patented, kissy, *mmcheeek* sound was pretty much non-existant. It was dry and quick, a swift peck of lips, just touching each other for a brief instant, emotionless and empty...
... And yet, it could be played in slow motion. It could be uploaded on YouTube. It could be adorned with special effects, floating hearts and fitted with a freaking soundtrack! It could be shown to everyone, in Sanctuary, at schoo...GODDAMMIT WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED!?
Miles himself couldn't believe it. He'd just kissed a dude. And when he turned to Syn, the only thing he could muster to say was: "Are you happy, Syn? Because, I really, really hope you are!"
Hitting record on her phone Syn watched with delight as the boys leaned in to one another until their lips touched. It was kinda cute in the helpless but still doing this manner. Ok so maybe it was only cute to her at the moment. With that done and her payback made in full she put her phone away.
Standing up from the love seat she looked at them and decided to change the subject. There would be plenty of time to remind them of this later. “Let’s go for a walk boys.” All she did was gesture to them to follow her as she figured they would gladly want to get out of that whole scene now. Though Syn had her own reason for getting them outside. She wanted them to get fresh air and clear their minds.
Leading the group outside the goth princess walked away from the direction of the park as she still wanted to show Sanctuary to Ty.

Oh GOD no that did not just happen! He just....and their lips....and he's a kid...and he's a DUDE! Ty's mind was reeling. Why...WHY did they just DO THAT? Because she told them?!? What sense did that freaking make?
Ty followed, walking out of the room and making sure he was last. As the fresh air began to hit and his senses cleared up, Ty pulled out his wallet, taking out every packet of aspirin he'd swiped. Opening one of them, he popped the tablets in his mouth and began crunching.
"I hope you *crunch crunch* realize...*crunch crunch* This is all your fault *crunch crunch crunch*" he said to Miles as he swallowed the bitter pills and began crunching two more.
Miles followed Syn out of the room, but as soon as he was out of there and catching some fresh air, his brain started to try and make sense of what had just happened and it couldn't find any. Surely Syn was just kidding when she had told them to do... that, but why the hell did he follow through? Did he think it'd be funny? Did he think it would impress her? Somehow, kissing a dude because you're told to doesn't seem the most productive way to impress anyone, but dammit, he felt compelled to do it and unable to stop it, which was odd. He was not one of those guys who wished to 'experiment' and he was pretty damn sure where he leant where hormones were concerned and it was not forward when another guy was puckering his lips!
And now she had recorded evidence of the event. She could use it to prove it had happened no matter how many times they tried to deny it. Was that her way to force him to behave? No clue why. If you excluded hitting a guy on the head with a stick, ruining a wedding, bailing out when you were needed the most, arguing over pickpocketing, causing a car crash and going ballistic over stolen loot, Miles was a perfectly well behaved boy! He didn't deserve this!
"Come on, Syn! Delete that video! You don't really need that!" he nagged in a whiney voice while Ty crunched on aspirin and blamed Miles for the whole thing.
"Hey, you're the one who lived by that forgive and forget motto! So, FORGIVE AND FORGET!" he snapped back.
He knew damn well that was going to be impossible, but as they were walking, Miles realized Syn had tucked away her cellphone... and Ty was a skilled pickpocket.
Without talking and behind Syn's back, the boy started making silent hand gestures to Ty. A hand pulling something out, a finger pressing a button on the invisible something then the hand returning the invisible something back. Surely Ty could do it! The kid who had complained to high heaven and kicked Ty's shin for pickpocketry was now asking the guy to pickpocket Syn's phone.
