The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

He lifted up the tray and offered it to her. "You want some," he asked, around a bite of veggies. He smirked around it. "Save me from myself?"
He thought that was funny. With all the tea she drank, she had to have caffeine problems. Of course, he supposed all the dojo-ing she did helped burn the calories off. And there were plenty of other ways to do that, too.

"No way." she said, waving away the nastiness in the plastic tray. "Have you seen what salted meat looks like?" It was all tough and stringy, and brittle. Humans were made mostly of the same stuff that animals were, it stood to reason that salt would do the same thing.
"I know you can do better." She gestured with the apple, "Are there more where this came from?"

Mhm, maybe he could do better. He chuckled at Quin, and hit the TV remote's on button.
"Sure. Hold on. We can dig something else up. Usually, I cook real food. This TV dinner's a one-of. Just didn't feel like cooking, since there was nobody around."
Pressing off his knees, and dusting them off, Ashton got to his feet. He left the TV dinner on the table and the TV blaring.

He was still going to eat the TV dinner, eventually. No life-saving had gone on here, except for him and that apple. If she ever went Vegan, he'd have to dive on that grenade.
As stated previously, his fridge was no walk-in freezer at a restaurant. There weren't many top-notch choices.
"I've got hamburger," He began to list. "Chicken breasts. Bacon. Tomatoes. Lettuce." There was bread on the counter. "Canned spaghetti sauce and noodles," He looked her way, to get an opinion. "I think I might have a clove of garlic and some butter in there, somewhere. And beer."

”I like my BLT’s to be crunchy, but I don’t like them to be so big that I can’t take a bite.” Quin said knowingly, nodding her head as she thought about it.
Was he suggesting that he wanted something else though?
”But if you want something else, I’m not picky…as long as it doesn’t come in a plastic container from the freezer.”

Big, but not too big... a tiny smirk touched his lips as Ashton made a mental note. A funny comment could have gone there. But he left it.
Quin kept on going, as if she hadn't given him an opportunity for a funny comment. Luckily, she gave him another one.
He arched an eyebrow and asked innocently. "But what if I have health food in a plastic container in the freezer...?" Valid question. Who was to say that he did not? Other than him. Which he would, if push came to shove. Easily. Ahem.

>>"If it was frozen...it wouldn't be real health food. Would it?"
He smirked. It sure could be. Depending on what it is. ... Not that he had anything like that. The smirk faded slightly.
"Well, let's see." He put his back between her and the fridge. Partially so she wouldn't see him frowning seriously. Carefully, cautiously, his eyes probed the freezer. The smirk reappeared as he hauled out frozen fish. "It's fish," He glanced back to her. "It's gotta be frozen." So there.

This…was going to be good. Quin waited patiently as Ashton blocked the refrigerator from her line of sight. They both knew very well that he didn’t have a single healthy thing in that freezer…or did he.
”I am utterly shocked those aren’t fish sticks.” she said, crossing her arms and eyeing the fillets skeptically.
”And I’ll bet they’re not organic, or farm raised.” she said, high-and-mightily.
Still though. He’d had something. ”But a BLT still sounds good.”

BLT sounded amazing.
But seriously, though. Organic? He didn't waste a moment eyeballing her over that, just put the fish back in the freezer. He'd read somewhere that there wasn't all that much difference between organic and regular, just bigger egos. But what did he know?
