The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Tses didn't sleep well last night. In fact, she hardly slept at all. Most of the night, she sat staring out her window as the moon slipped out of sight, fingers stinging from pricking herself with a needle while trying to repair her stuffed tiger. Now, looking down at the little Christmas present, she struggled with the emotions bubbling to the surface. Fear, doubt, confusion; everything seemed to be crashing down around her.
A visitor had come by yesterday. A man from her past that wouldn't go away. And he had given her an ultimatum, one she would have to decide on in little under a week. It wasn't fair. It wasn't right. She couldn't believe all of this was happening again. Just after her and Ty were working things out, and things seemed like they were going smoother. They were destined now to all come crashing down.
She spent most of her day just thinking. She took some time to eat, and change all her bandages. Her shoulder was still in bad shape, but at least her hands were healing up a bit. Her feet... well, she didn't stay off them long enough for them to stay scabbed, so they would probably be new scars. Not that it really mattered. All of her was scared. Inside and out. Scars never really healed, sometimes you just got lucky and they faded away.
She didn't know what time it was exactly when she found herself standing by her kitchen window. The new plane of glass gave her a decent view of the alleyway and just a glimpse of the rest of the city. She liked to stand here and watch people walk past, and most of the time, she didn't recognize anyway.
Today, however, she did.
She would know the slim kid anywhere, with red hair and a strange habit of attracting trouble. At first, her mouth started to pull into a smile. Then she noticed he was walking with someone, someone who was unmistakably female. The emotions that twisted into her heart hit like someone punching her gut and she watched in disbelief as he walked away, leading the other girl. For a second, she thought she caught him looking towards her apartment, and she clenched her fists in irritation. What, was he worried she'd spot them? Well, she had, and she was not happy with it.
Her mind was screaming for her not to jump to conclusions but the rest of her had already jumped of past conclusions and straight to anger. How could he do that? How could he be with another girl? Was he cheating on her? Already? You let someone call you their girlfriend, and a week later they're with someone else. Tears sprung to her eyes and she yelled and yanked a drawer out of the kitchen, spilling kitchen utensils everywhere, and cracking the wood. If nothing else, having the cooking supplies gave good ammo, if she needed to go kick someone's ass.
As time ticked by, she continued to prowl like a caged animal in the apartment, occasionally kicking furniture and hitting walls. It was dumb to be upset this fast, especially when she didn't know who he was with. But after last night... after she spent all night worrying about what would happen to him how could he turn around and betray her..
Exhausted, she slowly sank into her couch, and curled up on it with her back to the stuffed tiger. In a way, she related to the little thing now. She was stabbed in the back too .

It was...late. Ty didn't mean to fall asleep on the couch with Chloe, nor did he mean to be out this late. Then again, it wasn't like she was expecting him, he was just hoping to surprise her. Oh well...maybe he still could and she wasn't out or asleep yet.
Despite the sleep, he was still exhausted as he walked down the sidewalk with somewhat of a limp from what'd happened hours before. The bag with the medical supplies was still on his shoulder, and his hair was all over his head. Dried blood was on his left pants leg, accompanied by holes where the dog's teeth had pierced it.
Finally, he found the apartment building, and made his way to the all-too familiar door marked 66. Turning the knob--he found the door was locked. Then again, after current events he wasn't surprised. So, he balled up his left fist and knocked on the door.
"Dammit..." Ty muttered as bare fist hit wood. He'd lost his left glove...Shoving that hand in his pocket, with intention of leaving it there, he knocked again with his leather-clad right fist. "Tses? You home? It's me."
Tses didn't know how long she was laying on the couch when she heard footsteps, and the door handle gave a jiggle. Like a startled animal, she jumped to her feet, ending up in an awkward cat like crouch on the cushion. When she heard a knock, she started to relax a little, then tensed right back up when she heard Ty's voice sneak through the door.
"Tses?"
A low growl formed in her throat, and she slowly stepped down off the couch. Did he really have the nerve to come here right now? She wanted to punch him in the face, and he was going to make it all too easy. Grabbing the stuffed tiger, she prowled closer, eyes flashing with anger.
Slowly, she moved towards the door, and undid some of the lower locks. She left the chain in tact, and cracked it open just enough to stick the tiger on the door chain so it was hanging by it's skinny little arms with it's big eyes staring at the boy. "Tses isn't available right now. For your safety and the safety of others, please leave a message with the guard tiger, and we will get back with you shortly." She said in a highly sarcastic quip, and stalked back to the coffee table, sitting on it and folding her legs up under her. She could have just thrown it at him, and yelled at him right there, but part of her wanted to hear what he'd have to say for himself. If he started making excuses... there would be hell to pay.

Ty blinked; that was...new. And she didn't let him in. Yep, this day was just getting better and better...The redhead let out a sigh, scratching his head in confusion.
"Tses? What's going on?" he asked, knocking on the door again. "I just came by to check on you, maybe chill awhile. I've had somewhat of a rough day," he explained, still trying to sort out what was going on. Did he do something? Did something happen?
"Tses? Please let me in so we can talk properly? As cute as the guard tiger is, I admit."
Tses sighed and turned around, prowling back to the door. She removed the guard tiger, but didn't undo the chain lock, just stared him down through the crack that was created. "I don't know, you tell me. Where have you been all day?" It took all her composure not to slam the door shut on his face. Since he was blocked off from her, she couldn't see his injured leg, and she couldn't see his missing glove, which was probably for the better right now. She turned her back on him and then help up a finger like she just got an idea, and turned back around.
"Oh, wait... maybe I'm asking the wrong questions. Maybe where you've been isn't irrelevant... maybe who you've been with is more important." She snapped, tossing the tiger onto the couch behind her. She watched his reaction, a short distance from the door, and made no move to remove the last lock. She wanted to hear an explanation first. Then again, he could probably unlock it if he really wanted to. But it may have been safer for him to stay on the other side of the door for now.

Ty blinked again at her questions. "What? Why are you so angry? I didn't do anything..." Ty replied, deeply hurt by her accusation.
"I told you I've had a long and crazy day. I've been taunted by a chihuahua, then chased by a poodle who gnawed my leg as I scrambled up a fire escape. I got help from a stranger--another mutant, who accidentally numbed my hand with her toxic blood after she fell on some glass. So, we stopped and I had to doctor the wounds, and in the process I found from her necklace...that she's my sister...After that I found her a place to crash, we talked, and I fell asleep...And that's my day. I meant to come by much earlier but I fell asleep...I'm sorry. Can I please come in now?"
Ty looked both like he was exhausted, and like he'd just woken up. His eyes were sincere, yet hurt at what she'd asked him, and she wouldn't even let him in...
Tses listened to his explanation, and slowly the ebb of her anger settled down. Her face softened a bit, and she felt a little bad for snapping at him. Slowly, she reached out and undid the lock on the door, pulling it open. He wasn't the only one who looked like he'd had a long night. After nearly 48+ hours without sleep, plus the stress she was feeling, it felt like the world was crumbling around her. She hated yelling at him, but he was the only thing that made sense in this world, and if she lost him, she wondered if anything could keep her together.
"I saw you with her... the girl... you said she's your sister... I didn't know what to think." She muttered softly. She tried to calm down the anger, but part of her still felt hurt by all of this. "What am I supposed to think? I've been stuck here for almost a week, haven't seen you and you're out with someone. I just... I'm not good at this." She said, a slight snapping tone in her voice that bordered on defensive. She made her way over to the couch, plopped on it, and pulled her knees up to her chest to put her chin on them.

"Oh. Yeah that probably looked bad," he said softly, making his way inside, limping slightly. "On top of that I lost my left glove..." he murmured, then made his way to the couch, sitting next to her.
"Look, I know we don't exactly have the stereotypical, run-of-the-mill boyfriend-girlfriend thing going, but there is one thing I want you to know. You're the only girl for me. I'd never dream of doing anything to hurt you; I care about you too much." He propped his left leg on the couch, wincing at the slight pain. "I'm sorry I put you through that. I didn't mean to..."
Tses looked at him from over her knees, and the angry glare slowly left her face. She just looked exhausted now, and she glanced at his leg, face getting a little concerned. "You get that disinfected good at least?" She asked. It was sort of her way of making sure he was alright. She felt a bit better knowing he was sorry, but it didn't make all her problems go away. There was still a deadline looming in the future, and a very real threat for her to consider. It was stuff she didn't feel she could talk to anyone about, even him... especially him.
So, she tried to focus on the things she could control, and try to mend the bridge she so gracefully tried to burn down with him standing on it. "You didn't mean to upset me... and it's not your fault. I'm just on pins and needles right now... I'm sorry your day's been so crappy. Is your sister nice at least?" She asked slowly.

Ty put the bag on the table, nodding. "Yeah. Peroxide sucks, but it works," he said softly, leaning against her. "Thanks for being understanding, and yeah, Butterfly's pretty cool. She can be clingy at times, but she's nice. Part of why I'm so late. I went to leave so I could see you, and she starts crying. She didn't have anyone. Left alone against the world. You know, like I was when you found me," he smiled softly.
"Then she had some questions, I didn't like answering them but she wanted to know. My Dad was apparently more of a scumbag than I thought..." He shook his head, getting rid of those thoughts. "So...in other news I'm starting to not like dogs. Tell me life's given you a better hand than mine?"
Tses blinked in surprise slightly when she felt him lean against her, and glanced at him. For just meeting the girl, he seemed to really have gotten attached to her already. The way he talked about her gave a sort of glow to his face; sort of like she used to have for Kelarii. It stabbed at her gut a little as she thought of her younger sister, and wondered if they would ever run into each other in the future. She doubted it, but it was worth hoping for. "Butterfly? Is she like a fairy or something?" She felt herself blurt out, then shook her head, snuffing the comment. "Well, now at least you got someone who's more receptive to your affection..." She said softly. She stared at her shoes a little bit, and shrugged.
"I'm sorry about the dogs though. We'll avoid going to the pound on our next adventure." She tried to give him a little smile, then realized it probably wasn't the best joke and sighed again. "And it's been ok, I guess. Been bored out of my mind. Snuck out a few times this week to get some food and stuff." She didn't go much into detail, hoping he'd be satisfied with just that. She picked at the bandages on her arm, and nodded towards her dresser across the room. "There are some bandages in the drawer if you want to try using that to at least be able to use your hand until you get some more gloves"

"Fairy? Sort of. She can turn into a butterfly, and her blood causes...numbness or something...But I sorta came up with the nickname on the fly. Her name's Chloe."
"Well, now at least you got someone who's more receptive to your affection..."
"You're receptive when it matters most," Ty countered, then chuckled at her joke. "Yeah. Maybe I shoulda been a mailman."
He blinked. "Bandages....that's actually a good idea. I have those, but I didn't think of it." Reaching into the bag, he brought out what was left from his little adventure earlier, wrapping his left hand carefully as he let her answer to her day stand as it was.
"Yeah, I should steal some more soon. You know as soon as I'm not hobbling around, heh."
"You gave her a pet name? That seems oddly sudden... You really attached to her..." Tses felt a twinge in her gut again, an awful lot like jealousy. In a way, she was irritated he had taken to his whole 'brother' role so fast. Ok, at first it sounded sort of cute and she was ok with it, but now she was starting to feel a little bit threatened. He never gave her a nick-name, but his sister already had one. At this rate, he'd forget all about Tses; while she always pushed people away, part of her felt frightened by the possibility it worked. Ok, so you got rid of the only important person in your life, then what? You just live alone, stay to yourself?
While he continued commenting on her other remarks, her thoughts kept turning over in her head. If he wasn't around, she wouldn't have to worry about someone hurting him, and wouldn't have to worry about her past coming back to haunt her. Trying to force him to stay if he didn't want to would be selfish though. In the end, she could only let what happened happen, and see where it up them.
"I've got plenty of spare if you need any. I sold a few things I'd swiped a while back, to fix the window and the door. I restocked most my first aid supplies as well. Since I needed some to keep up my mummy costume." She remarked, holding up her still bandaged arms.

Ty winced as she semed hurt. "I did, but....she was a butterfly when we first met. It was easy. I'm still working on one for you that's not cheesy and won't get me killed," he said, trying to reassure her with a soft smile. He could tell she was hurt, and he didn't like it. "I am, but remember, I attached to you first." He leaned over and gave her a peck on the cheek that was just long enough to last, but just short enough where he'd be on his side of the couch and out of armreach hopefully before she could hit him.
"Yeah, I gotcha. Thanks," he said with a smile and a nod, then he got serious. "Look...I know this is sudden, and it's big. You're still my girlfriend, and I'm still going to be there for you, okay? I promise nothing's going to take me away from you." Reaching over, he put his hand on hers.
"I've grown too attached to you to leave you now. Or ever."
Tses tried to suppress her emotions, but they kept coiling around and around inside her. When he kissed her cheek she flinched slightly, and gave him a sharp look but didn't retaliate the gesture of affection. His 'kissing' up was cute, but still slightly annoying, and it didn't completely diminish the jealousy she was now feeling.
"It's a lot to process... for you and me. I mean... we just barely became a...a couple, and now you have a long lost sister who'll want to spend time with you too. I get that. Just realize I may not be supper great at handling it." She sighed, and put her face against her knees. "It's been a long day, I'm really not good at dealing with this all at once." Behind her tightly shut eyes she kept seeing images from the night before. The man, the knife... the stuffed tiger and the bits of fluffing getting scattered on the couch, then she tried to piece it back together. And now those thoughts kept getting flashes of a girl walking with her boyfriend.
