The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

The more he talked, the more she relaxed, and she didn't tense up when he kissed her the second time. She just let herself settle into his arms and closed her eyes, letting the tingling sensation linger. As much as it scared her, she found herself enjoying the moment. The good, the bad, the inbetweens: all of those emotions together made this one special. She sighed, and gave him a little smile. "Well, I promise I'll keep trying... although I don't know if I'll ever been the ideal charming girlfriend every guy dreams of." She chuckled, and gave his hand a squeeze. "But maybe someday it'll end up being more of this, and less of the drama that we trip over on our way here."
She gazed at the dresser on the other end of the room while she spoke, and tried to imagine what that would be like. Having dates, being a couple. Heck, maybe even getting a t.v. in this dumb apartment so it was more like a home. Maybe she could prove to him things could work out, and get better. It gave her something to shoot for: a resolution, if you will. For once, she felt like she had a direction in life.

"As long as you promise," Ty replied softly. He loved how she relaxed that time. "Yeah, but I can wait. I'll just take every one of these moments that I can along the way." he loosened the hug, leaning against her. He was content, and more than that, he was happy they calmed down.
"It's sometimes not an easy way to go," Ty admitted. "But you're worth every bit of it. No matter how bad things may get, you'll always have me, and I you. And that's my promise," he said softly.
Tses smiled at his response, and felt relieved at his answer. She couldn't imagine not having him around now, and sat up with a slightly wider grin. "Well, at least we can do something New Year's, right? You can watch the fireworks with me. I'm kinda partial to them since, well, you know." She made her hands glow for a second then chuckled. "Maybe your sister could come too... I wouldn't mind." She glanced at him, watching his reactions to see if he liked the idea.
Inwardly, she hoped he did. It would be fun to spend time watching them with someone instead of alone for once. Most years she just sat on a rooftop, and sometimes sent the occasional explosive at a random by-passer just for kicks. One year she scared a stray cat right off a fence and it landed in a trash can. She felt a little bad, but then she kept laughing when she watched it try to crawl free. She wondered what it would be like being with Ty; and if his sister would get along with her. She tried imagining the girl, but all she had was the image of the back of her head. Her name was butterfly: maybe it was easier to just imagine a butterfly fluttering past.
Ty leaned into her, smiling. This was as good as it got, just the two of them, actually being a couple. Talking, making plans for dates...it was perfect. "Yeah, that sounds like fun. It's a date, then~" he replied happily, chuckling as her hands glowed. "Yeah...Chloe would love it, too. It'd be a nice way for the two of you to get to know each other, too."
He let out a content sigh, resting his head on her shoulder. "You wanna know the last thing she asked about last night?" Ty asked, then answered. "She wanted to know about you. I'd let slip that I have a girlfriend, and she's interested in meeting you." He snuggled against her, stroking her hand with his thumb.
Tses gave a small smile as Ty agreed, and tried not to be too excited. But she was also nervous; what if his sister didn't like her? She wasn't exactly the most friendly person in the world, after all... A little bit of doubt tainted her mind, slowly creeping through her thoughts as she sighed and pushed her hair out of her face. "What if I disappoint her?" She whispered, a little nervously.
She never had to really worry what people thought of her before. Tses had always been a 'love me or hate me' person. But for some reason, she wanted to try to make a good impression this time, but worried she would mess it up. She wondered what it was like feeling this nervous all the time: always having to wonder what people thought about you.... it must be exhausting.

Ty rubbed her back again, holding her against him, then letting his hand drift to her arm. "It'll be fine. I'm sure she'll adore you," Ty comforted. "I'm sure of it." He kissed her forehead, maybe almost asking for the time-bomb to go off again, but he was just trying to be sweet. He held her close to him, still rubbing her arm.
"She's nice. Unless you count a butterfly laughing at me for being chased by dogs mean," he added with a slight chuckle. He really hoped things would go alright between them. The last thing he wanted was to be caught in the middle of them.
Tses flinched slightly at the kiss on the forehead, but for the moment, she was still slightly mollified. She nodded, and glanced at the clock on the wall. "Speaking of your sister... Shouldn't you check on her soon?" She asked, noting the morning was already mostly gone. She sat up a little bit, not trying to push him away, but realizing that time had gone rather quickly amidst the arguing.
"I'm sure she'll want to make sure you didn't forget about her..." Tses added, trying to make sure he didn't think she was throwing him out.

Ty blinked at Tses's thoughtfulness. It was surprising, but he had to say he admired it. It was, in a way, cute. "True..." he murmured. "She did practically make me promise to visit her like....every day..." he said with a light chuckle, snuggling against her.
"I will. I did promise, after all. But...I don't wanna leave just yet." He sort of clung to her, almost like a kid who didn't want to go to school clung to his Mom's leg. Not that he didn't want to visit Chloe, he just wanted to have a little more cuddly-snuggle time with his girlfriend. After all, he really didn't know when this would happen again.
The timer on Tses was slowly starting to expire. Tick-tick-tick... like a little time bomb, her tolerance was running out. The more he cuddled, the more she felt herself slipping backwards, resisting the reflex to pull away. Slowly she started to tense up again, and her relaxed posture started to straighten. She didn't want to do anything to upset him, but it was a lot to put up with at once. She took a deep breathe in, and then let it out again, trying to remind herself it was ok. She wasn't going to die because someone was holding her. But nothing could quite shake the feeling of being trapped being held too long gave her.
The fear in her gut was starting to rise a bit, and finally she moved just enough she could look him in the face. "Hey, we're going to see each other pretty soon. Plus, if she wants you to see her that often you could always swing by sometime on your way there or something." She tried suggesting. She didn't want him to think she didn't like being with him, but she also didn't know how to keep herself calm for much longer.

Ty noticed her tensing again, and decided to back off. Figured as much. Oh well, it was good while it lasted. But since she was starting to get more...likely to explode....maybe it was best he leave. Sighing, Ty pulled away and stood up.
"I gotcha," was all he said, feeling like he overdid it. Like maybe he caused her to want him to leave or something. It ended so abrubtly...But whatever. That was how it worked, he guessed.
"I'll...see you soon..." Standing up, he grabbed his jacket and started out the door, his body language similar to the puppy that got kicked off of his owner's bed. Tugging on his jacket, he headed outside, bracing against the sudden cold. Taking one last look at the apartment, he blew a kiss before heading down the street.
Tses sat on the couch for a few moments, frozen after he left. She felt her shoulders sink, her head drop, and sighed as she curled up on the couch. She didn't mean to upset him. She actually tried really hard not to. But in the end, things just kept blowing up in her face, and there was nothing she could do to stop it.
Reaching out, she took the tiny stuffed animal in her arms, and looked in it's beady eyes. "I'm never going to get better at this, am I?" She asked it sadly, and stared up at the ceiling, trying not to cry. The only reassurance was New Years wasn't too far away. He'd be back then, and she'd meet his sister, and things would be ok...
