Butterfly listened to the wise old woman's explanation, letting the words sink into her mind. She went back to petting the kitten, not even realizing what its name was. Without looking up, she said, "Thanks Meggy and Tses. What's this kitten's name anyway?" Butterfly kinda went silent for a while. She didn't know what else to say. She could talk about her brother, but she knew that would make Tses feel awkward, so she refrained from bringing him back up in conversation. But she smiled as she thought back to the memories she had made upon meeting her brother for the first time and them spending time with him. She giggled slightly at herself as she kept playing with the kitten and then thought about how mean she had been when they first met, picking on him for being so afraid of a poodle and teasing him about it. She knew that if anything tried to harm her brother now since they had gotten close, there was no mistake that she would do anything that she could to protect him. Then she thought about Tses and she looked over at her and said, "Tses, you know you really are a blessing. Even if you don't want to accept it. You could have just ignored me or left me to die earlier, but you didn't and you've been so nice to me. I really appreciate it."

Butterfly still sat with her eyes squinted shut and sniffling as her mind reminisced about those days. She hated it. She wished that she could forget all of those memories, the loneliness, the hurt, the anger, the depression she always tried to conceal and hide from people. She listened as Meggy spoke and tried to focus her mind on her words. Butterfly just felt like crawling into a ball, wishing she couldn't feel anything, but somehow Meggy's words got to her. "Maybe I am here for something, worth something. I have to be strong for my brother. He's what truly matters to me. Maybe, just maybe things will get better. And I'll be able to really figure out what I'm meant to do." Butterfly thought to herself. She glances over at Tses and saw the look of shock on her face. "I'm sorry Tses. I didn't mean to be so emotional." she said as she went back to petting the kitten in her arms. "Meggy, you're right, though I don't know what my inner strength is. Or exactly what I'm meant to do. I guess this is how my Mom felt when she left me to 'go find herself'. Meggy, how do you know about all of this and have so much wisdom?" Butterfly asked as she looked thoughtfully at the woman with the slightest hint of a smile.

Butterfly slowly returned her gaze to Meggy and looked over to Tses before she collected her thoughts of memories that she would tell. She thought about the mother who never wanted to spend time with her. The father she never knew who turned out to be a horrible man and the things that he had done to Ty. She thought about the loneliness, never having friends and being bullied and beat up as a kid. Butterfly's eyes began to fill with tears as she began to tell Meggy about her sad life before she came to New York, "I'm from Macon, Ga. I used to live in an apartment with my mom on a pretty shady part of the city. I never had any friends and my mom never really was around, at least none of it was to spend any time with me. I don't know what I did to make her not want me. My room and my books were my escape, my way to forget the loneliness. And I never knew my dad, but now that I know how he was I'm glad I didn't. I just wished that my brother hadn't known him either. I didn't even know I had a brother until I came to New York. And the only reason I came here was because my apartment got broken into the night my mom left me and I got scared and just tried to get as far from there as I could and the train didn't go any further than New York. I'm much more happy here than I ever was in Macon." Butterfly lowers her head and begins petting the kitten she's holding again, trying to avoid eye contact as she wipes away her tears and sniffles.

Butterfly picked up a fluffy calico colored kitten that she found was playing with her feet. She laughed at it's adorableness and stroked along its back and scratched its head as she walked back over to the couch and sat down next to Tses. Butterfly smiled and tried hard to conceal a laugh at the banter that was going on between Meggy and Tses. She thought it was hilarious and hid her laughs in going back immersing herself in playing with the kitten that she was holding. She waved her fingers in front of the kitten and giggled as the kitten tried to clasp her fast moving fingers in her paws.
She was still playing with the kitten when all of a sudden Meggy asked her to tell her and David about herself. This startled Butterfly and she blushed and kinda closed up, thinking about the life she had. She didn't wanna bring everyone down with her history. Butterfly sorta sheepishly looked back at the kitten and said "You don't wanna hear about me. I'm not that interesting and I don't really have any good stories to tell. The only good things that have happened to me so far have been after coming to New York."

Butterfly got up to peer behind the tv to where the kittens might be hiding. As she walked over slowly, she heard the cat lady speak about Tses and nodded her head, thinking to herself "That definitely seems like Tses." when all of a sudden she heard Tses's retort back. Butterfly spun around and stood with her mouth agape, surprised at what Tses had said. When the cat lady laughed, Butterfly relaxed a little and let out a heavy sigh. She then returned to finding the kittens and peered behind the tv to see a basket with 5 or 6 kittens in it. She didn't see the mama cat and assumed that she was either eating or came out when she and Tses got there. She looked over at the Meggy and asked "Can I hold one of them? Since Tses has S'mores and isn't willing to share." as she glanced over at Tses with a smirk.

Butterfly smiled at the cat lady and then asked, "Is s'mores the only kitten you have? You have some really beautiful cats. I've always liked cats. I like dogs too, but cats are always so friendly and know exactly how to cheer you up when you're down." She leaned over and pet S'mores some more and noticed that Tses didn't really wanna face her or speak as it seemed. She didn't have much to say. Butterfly began to wonder if she was ashamed to be around her or if she had said or done something wrong. She wanted to ask Tses what was wrong, but she didn't know if she should in front of her neighbor.

Butterfly pet David affectionately, scratching right behind his ears and along his jaw, smiling at him. When Meggy mentioned another kitty, she looked down and saw and absolutely adorable kitten. She watched as Tses scooped the kitten up and sorta cooed at the baby kitten. She followed Tses into the apartment and glanced around to get a look at it. She saw so many cats in the apartment. Tses wasn't wrong to call her the cat lady. It was very much true that the woman had become quite attached to many cats, but as long as they kept the woman happy, Chloe didn't mind. She all of sudden realized the smell in the apartment, but she then began to take short breaths so as to be courteous and not lose her composure. It would be rude of her to come into someone else's home and complain about the smell. Plus, it would hurt the woman's feelings and make it awkward for Tses. So Butterfly did her best to stand the smell and keep a straight face.
When Tses explained to Meggy that she was Ty's sister, Chloe smiled at Tses and the cat lady. And when Meggy complimented her brother, Chloe's smile grew wider. Her brother was a great guy and she loved him dearly. "I hope David likes me too.", she said while petting David some more.

Butterfly blushed as she heard Paige say that she was starting to like her too. The butterflies in her stomach just immediately took flight. But on a more serious note, Butterfly paid attention to what Paige was saying and how she felt. When Paige asked to slow down, Butterfly nodded, agreeing with her. "Alright, I understand. I'm sorry if I came on too fast to you. And I'm sure you're worth having, Paige, but we can take it slow. As slow as you wanna go. And I'll tell you anything about me that you wanna know." she said, smiling slightly at Paige's wink and sinking back against the arm rest of the couch.

Butterfly was surprised when she felt Paige return the kiss. She wasn't expecting that at all. She thought Paige was asleep. When Paige pulled back, Butterfly opened her eyes and turned a very dark red when Paige asked her if that was how she thanked her musicians. Butterfly shyly turned her head away, smiling, but said "No. I've never kissed any other musicians before. I just thought I'd try and show you that I liked you. The music just sorta won me over a bit more." She turned her head back to look at Paige, smiling slightly, still quite red in the face.

Butterfly nodded her head, understanding that Tses really didn't wanna talk about her brother. For her, talking about her brother kept the idea of him being still alive and well out there somewhere fresh in her mind and gave her hope. She followed Tses to her neighbors apartment and waited as Tses knocked. Butterfly head people moving about in the apartment. When the door opened she saw a woman with a wide smile and an incredibly cute orange cat. Butterfly smiled back at the woman and said politely, "My name is Chloe. And I find David to be an incredibly cute cat. Can I pet him?" As she asked, she held her hand out, but paused for a moment, awaiting an answer.

Butterfly relaxed a little as she saw that Paige hadn't woken up and slapped her for kissing her on the forehead. She was quite relieved to see a smile cross Paige's lips and feel her snuggle into her more. This brought some confidence to Butterfly. She decided she would do something a bit more bold this time.
She continued to play with Paige's hair and rub her shoulder some, but Butterfly then leaned down and planted a firm, but gently kiss onto Paige's lips. She held it there for a moment, eyes closed, savoring the feeling of her emotions just soaring up through the clouds.

Butterfly kept listening to Paige play the solo part of the song and was surprised at how she made that guitar talk and squeal. She was doing things to an acoustic guitar that she had never seen anyone else do, and it sounded GOOD. When Paige blushed a little and put her guitar back up, Butterfly just smiled. But what really surprised her was when Paige laid her head on her shoulder. Butterfly was sorta unsure what to do. She held her breath for a moment, pondering what her next action would be. She didn't wanna be too forward, but she thought about wanting to try SOMETHING. Something that would be sweet and would show Paige that she liked her, but not overbearing.
As Paige laid her head on Butterfly's shoulder, Butterfly put her arm around Paige's shoulders and began to slowly play and run her fingers through Paige's hair. She also gently rubbed Paige's upper arm with her finger tips, wondering if she had the guts to do what she was thinking about doing next.
Butterfly took a couple of deep breaths and felt her face grow very warm as she became more and more nervous. She then mustered up all her courage and prayed to God that she wasn't about to ruin her chance with Paige. She leaned down slowly, closed her eyes and kissed Paige's forehead.

Butterfly smiled as Paige smiled. "I've never heard of it before." Just as she said this, Butterfly watched as Paige closed her eyes as she played and sang. And in that moment, Butterfly was taken off to another world, mentally. It's as if when Paige played and sang, Butterfly was put into a daze, full of relaxation and happiness. Butterfly just watched her in awe and admired that passion in the way that Paige played the notes on her guitar and sang through the verse and the chorus. The whole time she watched she just sat and thought to herself "God she is so beautiful." And she found herself smiling at the thought. She had nothing but true admiration for Paige's talent. She just closed her eyes and listened to Paige play the rest of the song and felt her whole body just warm all over. She hoped that if she did get a chance to go out with Paige, that she'd never have a day where she didn't make Paige feel special and their relationship fall apart, like someone's had in the song. "Gosh, Paige. I could listen to you play for hours and never get tired of hearing you play and sing. You have such a beautiful voice. Maybe next time you could play one that I know and I could sing with you." Butterfly said with a slight grin.

Butterfly rode in the taxi, just as silent as her brother. She didn't know what to say to him to make anything better. He looked so miserable and it made her hurt to see her brother like that. When they had reached the mansion, Butterfly got out and got the rest of her things from the trunk that Ty couldn't grab and set it down next to the rest of her stuff.
When Ty asked about if Regan was supposed to meet them out there, Butterfly shook her head "No", but began to look around to see if Regan was possibly walking around on the lawn to get some fresh air. If she wasn't there, Butterfly knew that she could probably find her in the greenhouse. But she scanned across the lawn a little more and then pointed to her and said to Ty, "There she is." She then began to call out Regan's name to try and get her attention, but then Butterfly had realized that Ty had called Regan by name, "Wait, you already know Regan? How do you know her?"

Butterfly placed the book back on top of the dresser and listened as Tses talked about what she did for entertainment. When she mentioned speaking to the cat lady next door, Butterfly replied with. "Sure, I'd like to meet the cat lady. Then maybe you could tell me some stories about you and my brother?" Butterfly asked, sorta shyly. She had been sorta curious about how they had met to begin with and wanted to hear how Tses talked about her brother. She had already heard how her brother talked about Tses, and could tell how much he really loved her.
