The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Shade had been taken by Sonya to what appeared to be some secret hide-out for powerful mutants. He hadn't exactly gone to see a whole lot of the place because as soon as he exited the car, Shade was immediately taken through a series of tunnels to a medical faculty.
There they had removed his hoodie and shirt to sew up the large scratches left by that devil of a machine they called Stalkers. Now laying rather uncomfortably on his side with the large number of scars on his back and arms revealed, Shade felt kind-of exposed.
"At least, they leave the lights on." He said grumpily as he layed his head down to rest.
"Second thing, don't estimate anything about them, because you will be wrong." Shade said at he glanced slightly at the red-head. Obvoiusly something more painful had happened when she had met the Stalkers. However, he shook it off as he turned back to Hades.
"And make sure after you tango with one, you get the heck out of there before they can really get you. They are relenctless."
(ooc: sorry for the super-long wait. I had some school work that totally comsumed my free time.)
Yeah, I do know." Shade said, lifting his hoodie slightly to relieve the bandages that were still in place from the long scars which traced down his side.
"What about you?" The hooded man asked, turning to the bald guy.
Shade gave a slight nod at the newcomer to acknowledge his presence. He couldn't help the widening of his grin at the girl's last comment.
"Oh you don't think so. Well then, what is your form of dangerous? And does it come dressed in energy drink covered skirts?" He finished with a chuckle. The unseen eyes casted another glance at the bald man before snapping back to the red head. He flashed a very sarcastic grin as he gazed at her.
"Nothing, you can see." Shade replied truthfully as the grin spread a little wider. He doubted the girl would understand the pun so he leaned forward before continuing.
"There is a reason you can't see my eyes." Shade whispered to the teen.
Shade grinned evilly as the young woman explained about some of the mutants that were jammed packed into this facility. Allowing her to push past him, he still held that stupid grin as he glanced up at the light. They could fix the light afterwards Shade concluded as he tossed a knife into the gas-filled light bulb. A loud pop was heard as the tube shattered. However, not a shred touched the hooded man. An instant later, Shade appeared from behind a closed door near the drink cooler. Leaning up against the door, the man's grin remained as he watched the red-head approached.
If anyone had been able to see Shade's eyes, they would have noticed that he couldn't exactly stare into Vibe's eyes. Something about that color made him continually avert his gaze towards other things, like her hair, or her shirt, or her arm. However, since Shade's eyes were carefully hidden behind the veil of blackness, it appeared the man could really hold his own against the young girl.
"You should watch your tongue little girl. It might get you hurt one day."
Shade was slightly surprised but the fiery tone of the young woman. However, what was he to expect? She was a red head.
Recovering himself, Shade stood up and stepped towards the girl nearly touching her. Although not extremely tall, his six feet easily exceeded the girl's height by several inches.
"Am I in your way now?" He said coldly with a face like stone.
Shade admitted a low growl as he felt the rather cold soda spray across his back. Turning slowly to face the extremely rude red-head, he set his face in a stern frown.
"Do you mind, missy? I was enjoying a nice lunch before you interupted it."
Shade's final bite of his first slice of pizza was rudely interrupted by a careless red-head tripping over him. He then out a low groan as nearly eaten slice was knocked from his face and then soaked in orange soda. If that wasn't bad enough, the woman certainly was. Instead a proper apology, she seemed to think that to was Shade's fault for her clumsiness.
The hooded mutant's face held a stern gaze as he watched the young lady retrieve her remaining drinks. As she reached for the last can, Shade flicked his wrist sending a razor sharp black dagger at the can. The contains of which were sure to explode after the great commotion of being dropped onto a tile floor. Turning back to his pizza, Shade's face now held a small grin.
After a couple of days of recovery, Shade was released from infirmary. Now branded with a series of flashy new scars, the mutant had begun to explore the extensive labs. Passing the canteen, the wonderful smell drited to Shade's invisible nose. Pausing, he quickly decided that the hospital food he had been fed for his recovery days could not hold him at this moment in time. Making his way through the line, Shade grabbed several slices of pizza stacking each one on top of the other. Finishing it with a beverage, he grabbed a seat in the middle of a lone table and started on his food.
Dang man, I didn't know you could write that good. How long did it take you? A couple of hours? Just kidding man. Can't wait for our characters to meet in one of the threads. Should be pretty interesting.
