The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

It was a good sign that Emily seemed to be getting more comfortable talking. Victoria was liking the girl. She was friendly and that was always a plus. "So what do you do here? Do you take any classes or anything or do you just live here? I lived here and I took some classes. I had an art teacher who was very nice. I'm not sure if he's still here though. I haven't seen him yet."
Victoria was used to seeing the city at night, but it never ceased to intrigue her with all the different people going about their business or having fun. There were still people in business clothes around, though she figured it was much less than during the day time. More people in casual relaxing clothes filled the walkways at night. Walking, riding bikes, roller skates and skate boards passed by often.
“Oh, I’m sorry your family isn’t together. I’m glad you have some of your brothers and father though. I don’t have any siblings.” Her tone had a feeling or sorrow for Bailey’s family, but when it came to being an only child her tone was more ‘matter-of-fact’ like. She was used to being alone, but it was always nice to find friendly people to be around.
“Yeah, you could say my parents are used to it. They’re still in Estonia.” She thought for a moment wondering how her parents were doing and if they were happy, or if they missed having their daughter around.
Victoria had been walking right beside Bailey so when he stopped it took her another step to noticed. Turning back she laughed at the boy’s awkwardness. “I’m just joking with you Bailey. I just wanted to see how you’d react. It’s ok. You need to relax a little.” She giggled a bit more.
Victoria couldn’t help but smile at Bailey’s obvious excitement. She kind of liked how he’d stumble over himself every so often. It made her giggle at the very least, but more often she’d laugh. It was so nice to find someone who didn’t have a problem being silly just for the sake of being silly. It helped keep the conversation going as well as making it interesting and enjoyable.
Following the boy’s lead Victoria got up from her seat and walked to the door, stepping through while he held it open for them to leave. “Oh, how many brothers do you have? Do your parents live with you?” The girl had surprisingly never thought about siblings before. What would it be like to have a brother or sister? Would they have the same problem she does?
When Bailey had locked up the store she started walking with the boy in the direction of his house. “No, I don’t think anyone is expecting me. Most times no one is awake when I go out to explore and especially when I get back.” She stopped for a second and gave a slightly exaggerated worried look and spoke in a teasing manner. “You’re not still planning on kidnapping me and keeping me locked away, are you?”
Emily's responses made Victoria smile slightly and nod in agreement. "I agree with you on the genuine acting. That always helps make the story more believable." She nodded again and moved herself into a different position to help her watch the movie as well as keep her attention on Emily.
"I used to read when I lived with my parents. I also used to play and listen to music and sing. I haven't done too much reading since I've been here though. I've been more busy finding friends." She gave a sweet smile and shrugged her shoulders.

Bailey’s gesture and description of their imaginary success made Vitoria giggle. He was fun to talk to and she liked that. He didn’t seem worried about what he said, until he thought he was crossing some boundary in his head. Victoria shook her head slightly thinking the boy was silly. “Yeah, can’t really do it if we’re missing the key to it all.” She smiled and sat back in the chair.
Only 1 AM? She thought for a moment. There was still time before sunrise. That was more time to keep talking and making jokes with Bailey. That sounded good.
Getting up from her seat she walked to the door as well. “I’d like to keep talking if it’s ok for me to be in your house this late.”

Well, that was good to hear. At least it was a movie they could watch easily together. “So, what kinds of movies do you like? I like different things such as stuff like this or movies about the creatures of the night like vampires and werewolves, action is always good too and I like some suspense/drama movies.”
Getting in a more comfortable position she half watched the movie and half listened for anything Emily might say. She was liking the girl and hoped they could keep talking and maybe become friends at some point. Victoria loved having friends, but she didn’t have many right now.

Inside, Victoria was happy to hear the urgency in Abby’s voice. She sounded like someone who truly cared about others. Someone Victoria could relate to. Only problem was it was Victoria who needed to be taken care of.
The pain was so awful. She looked around just to make sure there wasn’t still any light touching her. It felt like she was in an oven and any movement agitated her burned skin, so she did her best to stay still. If she didn’t move, then it didn’t hurt quite as much.
In a moment of relative calmness Victoria hoped she hadn’t scared Abby so much that the girl would always be kicking herself for opening the windows. She only did what any normal person would do to wake up someone. She was sure Abby only had the best of intentions. After all, how could she know what would happen. Only a very small group of people know, but that group was getting new company.
It felt like it had been ages since Abby went for help, but finally she returned with an older man. Someone Victoria hadn’t seen before, but he sounded like he wanted to help.
“Ah, umm ok.” She replied in a painful tone while slowly crawling out from under the bed all the way. Tears filling her ruby eyes as she held in her cries of agony. If this man was going to help, then Victoria knew she should probably lay on the floor so he could get a good look at her. So, she carefully laid on her back for examination. Victoria gave Abby a soft smile both to thank her and hoping the girl knew Victoria didn’t hold anything against her

"So what kind of movies do you like? I hope this one isn't scary for you." Victoria pointed at the TV and the zombie movie currently playing. She hoped Emily was ok with it otherwise she'd switch the channel to something else. She didn't want to scare off someone she just met. Then again, maybe the girl didn't scare easily.

“OoH! I like that one! The Arm-y! I think that might sell better.” Victoria smiled and giggled. “We could make all kinds of cool designs with a play on the word Army. Make stuff with camouflaged back grounds. Maybe make like fake rank insignia.” Again she giggled. It was a fun idea that was for certain
“My wings are invisible to all but other fairies.” That was thinking on her feet. After she had mentioned being a fairy she wondered if he was going to ask or comment on her wings. So she had already started thinking of possible responses. “Unfortunately, I used up all my wish granting for myself.” She gave a playful little shrug.
Victoria’s nervousness over what time it was came to a screeching halt as Bailey began trying to give the girl reassurances that he meant no harm with his invitation. She just stared at him with a wide-eyed stare. Her posture straightened up and leaned back a little. “That was unexpected. I’m glad you don’t want to murder me…. because I like talking to you too. Besides, I wouldn’t want to leave you in a pool of your own blood either.” She paused to give him a moment to process what he said along with her statement then she reached over and lightly smacked his hand and laughed. “Do you know what time it is? I don’t have a watch.”

“Yeah, it would be crazy and cool. Even crazier that we’d need to grow more arms to do it though.” She giggled more at the thought. She pictured the two of them hopping around the stage with multiple wiggly arms playing musical instruments as they went. Oh, the name though. “That’s a terrible name.” Again she giggled shaking her head.
Things only continued to be silly. “I will definitely help you find a cut out. Or you could cut out a poster of him and paste it on cardboard.” She gave him a look as if to say ‘Now there’s an idea’. She drove home the thought with a wink and a playful pointing of her index finger at him. “Eh?” Another giggle.
Was she a fairy or mythical creature? “Of course I am! I’m a fairy princess.” She straightened up her posture a bit more and raised her right hand with her pinky up. “Couldn’t you tell?” Holding her little pose for a moment she winked playfully at the boy.
“So it’s a city surrounded by maple trees to keep your maple syrup craving satisfied. Ok got it.” More giggling. She was having a lot of fun talking with Bailey. The best part was he was being playful right back. She hadn’t had this sort of interaction before. Not [i[this[/i] fun anyway.
Bailey’s mentioning of time caused the girl to look for a clock on the wall in almost a terrified manner. How late was it? She hadn’t been paying attention to the time. Was the sun coming up already? God she hoped not.
Then her thoughts were thrown off track before she could register what time it was. Did he really just invite her to his house? “Umm…how far do you live from her?” Did she have time to go or should she try making it back to the mansion instead. What time was it?

Victoria’s eyes were clenched shut as she tried her hardest to block out the pain. God it hurt! She had never felt anything like this before. The again, when things tend not to hurt you because you’re unnaturally physically tougher you don’t think about pain like most other people. It’s more of an annoyance than something to fear. This pain, Victoria now feared whole-heartedly.
The sound of Abby’s voice reminded her she wasn’t alone. Opening her eyes, she could see the room had darkened. Looking around there wasn’t any sign of sunlight coming. No light touching the floor. Slowly she crawled out from under the bed continuously looking around for signs of light to avoid. Wincing the whole time, she moved she got to where she could see the other girl. Victoria didn’t mean to scare the poor girl, but it happened.
“Is there a nurse or someone here in the mansion? A teacher or someone? I don’t know what to do either. This.” She winced trying to adjust her position. “This hasn’t happened before.” Victoria looked at the girl with scared yet pleading eyes. Please let there be someone who can help.
Walking down the hall of offices, Victoria looked for Sam’s office as she had forgotten where exactly it was. She had only been to it once before when she ended up asking him to train her. Then there was the Danger Room. She didn’t forget that room. She had gone there time after time to practice and learn. It was also where Sam had nearly scared her to death by having the computer create a scene outside during the daylight hours. Yeah, she never forgot that.
Victoria started to hear music playing from down the hall. It wasn’t a song she knew. Deciding to follow it she thought if it didn’t lead her to Sam then perhaps the person could direct her to his location.
Approaching the office the song changed to another. Yet again she didn’t know the tune. It had to be an album her parents had never played. Shrugging the thought from her mind she turned the corner to enter the office. Standing in the doorway the blonde girl looked across a paper covered desk at her old defense instructor. “Hello Sam. It’s been a while.”
