The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Welcome back, Marteeeeeen. *snugglehugs* ^_^ Glad that you are in better health and back on the boards!
In other news, I am also, kinda back. I got broadsided by the finals train, which kinda killed my posting/activity/presence... that, and I actually made friends at the university, which (not surprisingly) drastically impacts computer time. I should be back in business now, however, as it is summer.

TSES
"You won't cry for my absence, I know - You forgot me long ago. Am I that unimportant...? Am I so insignificant...? Isn't something missing? Isn't someone missing me?" -- Evanescence, Missing
HISTORY Tses is a street kid who grew up in Chicago. Up until she was 9, she lived with her father and younger sister Kelarii. Her father cared little for the girls, and Tses looked after her younger sister, trying her best to keep her sister happy and safe, hiding the darker side of the world from her.
When Tses turned 9, their father's habits of drinking, picking fights and borrowing money he didn't have led to an attack on the family house. In the fire, Tses' father was killed, but Tses managed to get her sister out. Before she could follow, however, the house collapsed and Tses was trapped inside. She was badly injured in the incident, and fell into a coma. When she woke up a year later, her sister had moved on, and Tses had no one left to care about. Taking to the streets, she decided the only person to worry about was herself, and took to a life of crime to survive.
When Tses turned 13, she discovered her powers. With the ability to absorb energy from the moon and condense it into an explosive force, she was volatile in powers and personality. But an older woman taught her how to fight, and how to use her own human abilities and keep her powers as a secondary strength.
At 18, Tses moved to New York, and there she took up jobs doing data retrieval for a man named Kystler. This involved breaking and entering, a bit of hacking, and it often put her in a position to turn in her own kind. But Tses didn't care. She only looked out for herself, and that was how life went on until a fateful day when a mission went badly. In an attempted kidnapping of a young girl, the teen's body guard and handler were hurt, and Tses decided she couldn't continue that life anymore. She settled to more simple methods of getting money like pick-pocketing, and soon settled into a normal life.
Until she ran into a scrawn red-headed kid just before she turned 22.
The two hit it off rather well in a wild adventure involving cops, chihuahuas, smoke mutants and gunfire, and became close friends very quickly. Tses was socially difficult, and hard to put up with, but Ty seemed to see through that. For the first time since she was 10, she cared about someone, and that began to change her.
When mutant tensions rose from some violence towards a young gargoyle looking teen, Tses and Ty got caught up in the cross fire. After an accident and the death of a human, they grew closer, and eventually settled into the 'relationship' they would build on. Tses cared for Ty, but didn't want to admit it. Feelings were weaknesses to her, but she couldn't quite control how she felt. While she encountered several other mutants (included a young blood controlling girl named Serena, and a voodoo power wielding mutant named Chrys who she'd become 'friends' with), her feelings with Ty were the hardest to handle. They went on their first 'date' on Christmas, in an impromptu trip to the zoo, but the relationship would be interrupted by a surprise visit to Tses' apartment by the cops. After a misunderstanding, Tses tried to fight them and ended up severely injured. Taken to the hospital, she is slightly traumatized by the incident, but after Ty finds her, it forces her to deal with her emotions for him. They become a rather unconventional couple, with plenty of yelling, fighting and tears along the way.
In the weeks to follow, Tses tries her best to keep up with day to day life with her injuries still healing. She ends up making several new acquaintances, although some of those resulted in squabbles and fist fights. Things seem to be going well, until Ty discovers he has a sister, and this brings some jealousy into Tses' life. They all arrange to spend New Years together, regardless, but Ty stands the girls up, and they are left without a reason why. Angry and hurt, Tses backslides to her life of crime, stealing cars, robbing shops and fighting other mutants.
On top of it all, Kystler, her employer from the past, comes and tries to blackmail Tses into helping him again. In order to keep Ty safe, she considers the proposition, but help comes from an unlikely source as a man named Jacob (Colt) gives her a hand and frees her from the decision. With Kystler dead and Ty gone, Tses tries to sort out her own place in the world, but just ends up lost in translation.
Will Ty return? Is the past truly behind Tses? Will she ever be able to let people into her life, or will she continue to push them away? Only time will tell.
A Joker or a Theif - Two street savvy mutants cross paths, and chaos ensues. and After playing a prank on some humans, they get chased by a cop, nearly fall through an unfinished skylight, and later attacked by a shadow mutant.
Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend - Tses does some after Christmas shopinglifting, in an effort to get some new earrings. She finds herself cornered by a 'voodoo' mutant, who decides to make Tses her 'dress-up-doll' for the day. After trying on clothes and being subjected to the classy 'torture', Tses returns home to try to regain her dignity.
Frozen Spaces - Tses is helped by a stranger after a snowy blizzard hits on her way home. After a car ride and a talk, he finds out about Kystler's blackmailing, and helps take care of the thread.
Broken Wings - Part of Tses's back story, this solo piece explores her relationship with her family, and then her eventual path to being on the streets and standing on her own. Notable events: Tses saves her sister from a house fire, but ends up in a coma for a year after it. Her sister moves on without her, and Tses sets out, trying to find her own place in the world now that she's not looking out for her younger sister. Travels a course of 13 years, showing events like her changes of attire, her mentor in fighting, finding her powers, and her eventual ties to New York.
