The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"Good." The not-so-wonder boy said, still peeved when Ami suggested it would be a half hour or less. Embarrassed wasn't even the word to describe the way he felt about what had just happened.
"The sooner the better." He added, looking down at the looter again, then back at the way he'd came. "I'm going to wait on the back steps. This was a terrible idea."
Why had he ran across the city anyway? Ignoring the little voice in his head that said he was an idiot...Jameson pondered that question and headed for the door.

"A...ride..." Only Ami could get through to the police in the middle of a riot and actually get ahold of someone. Did she have a direct line? It was kind of ridiculous.
"How did...?" he stammered, then simply stopped and sighed. He didn't want to know, he didn't care to know. Jameson Harris, welcome to the Twilight Zone...population, two. Three if you counted the guy on the floor.
Jameson's phone buzzed again, and suddenly he was irritated. He'd come all this way for snark and vinegar. He answered, "I'll be home soon." He snapped, "Complete with a police escort." He hung up before she could say a word. There would be plenty of that when he got home.
Phone stowed, the teen scowled at Ami, "Only you would have a purse with bricks in it. Yes. I want a ride. Did they say how soon they'd get here?"
Jameson wrinkled his nose at the mention of the collars. He'd been really young when all of the registration business had gone down, so his mutation hadn't been an issue. They'd all just gone about their happy little upper-class lives, thanking the stars that none of them had an X-gene. There were stories about things that had happened in those camps, and while they weren't openly publicized, word still got around. This guy had broken into Ami's house though, and the cops had to have a way to hold him.
"Fair enough." He said, wondering if Ami had been watching the news at all. He was gracious enough not to mention the fact that she was going on fool's errand, but just kept it to himself.
"What do we do in the meantime...I don't know about riot rules...but I feel like it's still illegal to bash someone's head in. Maybe you should call your fancy lawyer brother while you're at it." [/color]

"A squad car would be ideal." Jameson said, shrugging off Ami's thanks. He wasn't blushing, by the way, those pink cheeks had come from running halfway across the city. Maybe that was an exaggeration, but if nobody pointed it out, nothing would need to be said.
Looking down at the tied man, the teen frowned. "Ideal...but I think it's a pipe dream right now." His phone was vibrating in his pants pocket again, but Jameson ignored it. Answering to his mother while they were carrying a criminal was probably a bad idea...so was ignoring her...but at this point it was moot.
"We could just leave him tied, toss him outside, and make sure the doors are better secured."

Jameson nodded as Ami backed into the house and invited him in. The guy was hog tied with socks, and the teen had to admit that he was impressed. He'd been too late to help...but it was still super cool that Ami had managed to handle the situation on her own.
Suddenly, he felt foolish. What had possessed him to run across the city in the middle of a riot? Well...that's what friends were for, he supposed.
In he went to help her drag the guy outside.
"I don't know if we're going to be able to carry him all the way to the police station, Ami...things are pretty bad out there."

UGH.
Ten minutes passed, and Jameson was pacing. He'd only managed to stay on his bed for the first five, then he'd gotten increasingly nervous as time had passed. This was getting ridiculous.
Jameson knew that if he asked, his parents were just going to say no, so there was only one way that this was going to work. He was going to have to make a run for it. Tucking his phone into his pocket so that he could call when he made it to Ami's, Jameson opened his door and took a deep breath.
Then he sprinted, jaw clenched against the surprised shouts that came from the livingroom as he unbolted the front door and ran from the apartment.
Not wanting to wait for the elevator, the teen took the stairs, using the rails to hop down the flights more quickly than he normally would have been able to move. He made it half way before his phone started ringing. A quick glance told the teen that it was his parents calling and he stuffed the thing back into his pocket. Finally, he made it into the lobby at a full sprint...then out the front doors.
...and into chaos.
It was far enough to Ami's that Jameson got an eyeful of things he'd never thought he would see in New York...his phone ringing angrily in his pocket the whole time. He dodged fires...literal fires...and crowds of people who looked like they were up to no good. The police were out...but it looked like they were losing the fight in some places.
It was terrifying, and it took him FOREVER to make it to Ami's block.
He went around back...it was the only way he'd ever gone into the house, and the front was the restaurant. He got to the door and started beating on it, panting as stood...hoping everything was alright.

Oh…she’d call him back.
The pots and pans had definitely still been banging in the background when Ami hung up the phone, and the damn girl hadn’t given him any relevant information.
Seriously!? How hard would it have been for her to go, “Oh hey…yeah, it’s my parents…let me call you back after I help them put things away.” Or even, “Oh no! It’s looters in my house! I have to fight them off!” Anything would have been more helpful than what he had…which was absolutely nothing.
Fine. Jameson hopped up out of bed and slipped his feet into his deck shoes. He’d have to take matters into his own hands. People were going to work, people were going to buy groceries…he could make the trip from his place to Ami’s…
He just had to get past his parents. Who were in the livingroom. Right in front of the TV…which was right in front of the door.
“Dammit.” The teen muttered, filter off as he slumped down on his bed to think for a moment. He glanced at the clock on his cell phone. Ami had 10 minutes to call back…then he’d take drastic measures.

For some reason, Jameson frowned when Ami pointed out that she was hearing noises from the kitchen. Her house wasn't nearly as secure as his was, and even if something was going wrong, there wasn't much he was going to be able to do from his current position.
"Maybe you should wait until they call to you Ami...I don't know if you should go walking down there..."
The sudden thought occurred to the teen that maybe he should have invited Ami and her family over to wait the riots out. They had plenty of room in their apartment after all...he would do that, he just had to figure out how to broach the subject without being incredibly awkward.

National Guard? Getting out and helping? Jameson didn't think that either of those things sounded like a good idea, but the police definitely weren't going to be able to do everything. How could you mediate a situation when you were the cause of the problem?
"I don't know...I honestly hadn't thought about it that much, but I really hope they don't start running tanks down Broadway." The thought was honestly terrifying, but they weren't to that point yet, were they? Surely not, if people like Ami's brother were still working.
"I really hope they don't extend the school year because of this...I want my diploma."

Harry Potter and Christopher Marlowe? It sounded interesting, but Jameson couldn't bring himself to ask for more details. Ennui driven lethargy was too intense at the moment.
Ami mentioned that her brother was still working, and Jameson's eyebrows rose. "Man, I don't envy your brother. Trying to get in and out of public buildings right now has to be a nightmare. I'm on strict orders not to leave the house."
It was tough being a teenager.
"I'm about to lose my mind from boredom though, and both my parents have been home for the last two days. I mean, they're really good at making sure they're around most days...but two entire days together from morning to night...you've met my mother. It's starting to make me a little crazy."
Sirens wailed somewhere in the distance, and Jameson glanced towards his window.

"Fine. Lumineers, Flowers in Her Hair." Jameson said with a smirk into the phone. It was probably the exact kind of music that Ami would have queued up anyway, but it was still nice to make a suggestion. He'd had far too little human interaction the last few days. Sure, he was there with his parents, but they didn't count. They were far too grateful that they locked in safe-and-sound above ground.
Sighing into the phone slightly, Jameson decided that was enough joking. Part of him hoped that Ami would put the song on in the background though...he really wanted to hear it now. "How are things holding up over there?" he asked, more serious now.

It was a good thing that Jameson had called Ami before, and knew the kind of antics she got up to when she was bored. He took the faux greeting in stride. "Yo yo yo- I was hopin' that you could drop some sick beats. I just picked up a new iPod, stereo, TV, and speakers, and I wanted to see if it all works. There was a door buster special..."
He paused and waited for reaction, then decided maybe the joke had been a little off-color.
