The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>> "Sounds complicated.”
Of course it did, but it wasn't. Gina chuckled as Agnes beamed. Yet, as she drew closer, Agnes ceased and closed her mouth, under Gina's instruction. She outlined het lips with the pencil, carefully keeping her hand steady. It was harder than it looked, applying make-up with talons working against you.
Gina finished outlining her sisters' lips, and smudged the color inward with her thumb.
"Lipstick, now," Gina announced, replacing the liner on the counter, and picking up the lipstick canister. She instructed Agnes to purse her lips, and applied a think, pink layer of lipstick.
"Go ahead and rub your lips together," Gina instructed, replacing the cap on the lipstick, and retrieving the gloss, "To blend the colors."
Gina then applied the lip gloss, before stepping back to survey the finished Facial makeover.
"Splendid," Gina sang, "Total K.O. See for yourself."

>> "Hey. I haven't caught your name. Mine is Amelia. 'Ami' for short."
Was this one of those scenarios in which Gina should give het middle name, to maintain some fragment of dignity? If some name were to be soiled, it shouldn't be her first.
"Regina-- everyone calls me Gina," Gina introduced herself in a similar manner. Had she forgotten to introduce herself, after all of that? Oops.
>> "It's nice to meet you."
"Likewise... nice to meet you."
Gina continued to work at her soda looking towards Jude momentarily before returning to her food. Talk about the world's most awkward lunch.

Gina got her smile out of Agnes, and began to dabble the blush on in small circles on Agnes' cheeks lightly. How fortunate, that she and Constance were of a similar skintone.
"Perfecto," Gina hummed, brushing some stray powder off of Agnes's cheek. All that she had left were the lips, the hair, and the clothes... They were almost done...
>> "God, I hope I still have enough time to finish. When is she supposed to show up again?"
"Good question," Gina answered noncommitally, lilting towards the door, propping it open to look at her alarm clock. They had about a half-hour. They were cutting it a little close. Maybe Gina could do something simpler with Agnes's hair?
"We've got about a half-hour," Gina announced placidly, "Plenty of time." She sauntered to the counter, and picked up another pencil, except this was one for the lips.
"Lip liner," Gina announced, holding up the pencil which was tipped in a rosy, pink color, "Exactly what it sounds like. I'm going to give you really clean, simple pink lip-coloring. Some lipstick for color, and some gloss, to give it shine and hold it in place..."
Gina smiled, "You ready?"
Gina kept asking, she was well aware, but it was a precautionary thing. Just wanted Agnes to feel some measure of control in the matter.

Okay, so Gina had laid the cheese on a little thick, but at least through the cheesiness, Agnes had heard her, loud and clear. Agnes got up and constricted Gina in a hug. It wasn't that big of a deal, not as big as Gina was making it out to be, if Agnes backed out. Agnes-hugs were really hard to interpret, though, so Gina just exchanged it and waited for her sister to speak, before taking action.
>> “No Gina... You’re right. I’ve…I’ve just got to get over this. I can’t…stop my life... I’ll be okay. Now…ahem…come on make-up wench! You still have quite the job ahead of you!”
"With time," Gina agreed, nodding her head. It wasn't just a one-and-done, solved-with-a-date kind of deal... to think so would be ridiculously naive. It would take time, and maybe some talks with Miss Taylor. But, Gina was glad that her sister was keeping an open-mind and stepping out of her comfort zone. The make-up wench reclaimed her blush compact and loose brush, and popped the blush open. She wasn't a counselor, but she was glad to help.
"Oh, psh," Gina assured her sister, "The eyes are the most intensive part. Everything else is a breeze, after that." Gina drew closer to her sister, lightly dabbling the brush over the unscathed blush. She looked towards her sister, smiling placidly as she said, "For blush, you want to put it on the apples of your cheeks, which you find by smiling."
As she was already smiling, Gina poked at her own cheeks, towards the resulting "apples".

>> "For years it was just my dad. I didn't think he went outside unless there wasn't food in the fridge or to drop me off at school I don't know how he even met Kendra."
Gina couldn't remember Pamela ever being like that. But, then again, she'd come along later-on, after her mother had been dealing with the mourning process for a while. Gina smiled, though, and corrected Locke by saying, "It isn't as if she doesn't have enough guys around... I mean, she gets around, but it's just that dating gets complicated in a small town. There's only so many fish in the pond."
>> "You said your mom had a shop, what did she sell?"
Gina smiled and hummed faintly, her tail flicking from side-to-side absently.
"A lot of clothes, accessories, and jewlery, made by people along Highway One or in Mendocino... Some stuff that we make, too," Gina trailed, chuckling faintly, "And other things, too, but mostly just crafts of sorts... tourist-magnets." Largely, female tourists, but a fair share of men had followed mothers, wives, or other female relatives into the store, too-- there might have been a very slim chance that Locke had ever gone into the store. It was one of many such stores in Mendocino, though, "None of that commercialized stuff, though."
She broke off, swirling her soda around in its can. She had about half of a can left.
"What do your parents do?" Gina trailed. By parents, she meant Kendra and his father, but figured that Locke knew what she meant.

Gina listened closely, setting the blush and the brush aside, to show Agnes that she was listening.
>> “I…I know this is stupid, I know this is just a casual date, but…it’s just…Gina…I’m…so scarred up. I… I…I don’t know how to feel beautiful and…aren’t you supposed to feel beautiful when you’re on a date? Am I…Am I just doing all this wrong?”
Agnes let out a laugh that was too sharp, hugging herself tightly. Gina 's brow stitched, frowning as her sister spoke. Gina quietly held onto her own arm, taloned fingers absently flexing and unflexing. It was so easy for her to forget all of the horrible things that Agnes hid underneath, and only see the good things-- and Gina wasn't thinking of Agnes's mutation. No, nothing close.
Agnes was all "scarred up", as she put it, and Gina knew-- inside and outside. And, for a moment, she even doubted herself. She didn't think that hooking Agnes up with someone would fix all of this, but... maybe, she was secretly hoping that it would help. Had she been so blinded by her own excitement of playing matchmaker, that she'd completely neglected her Agnes or her better interests? But God, where to start--? Agnes hadn't said much, and yet she'd said a lot too. It was a lot for a fifteen-year-old to muscle through, even if it wasn't her own inner dilemmas.
"I don't think there's a right way, Agnes," Gina said lamely, "I mean, I've never been on a romantic date before--" she cast a small smile, "And... I don't think feeling beautiful would come from a single date-- that's an internal thing. Scars or not--" she broke off, her tail curling lightly while she spoke, "--The right person will love you regardless."
Gina let herself smile, now, and she'd spoken with conviction. Just like the right guy would love Gina, even if she was often mistaken for a demon-- be he human or mutant, if he was the right one, he'd love her for who she was.
Gina let her gaze flicker over Agnes's face, rolling her lips contemplatively-- Gina had essentially arranged this entire thing. She'd played matchmaker, helped the Mystery Girl out with the date idea, and the date of the date, but... she hadn't really run anything by Agnes. In fact, Gina was beginning to realize that she'd essentially commandeered the whole thing.
"Agnes," Gina trailed, hesitant to even propose this idea, "I'm sorry that I got overzealous... I should have told you, first and foremost, that this is entirely up to you--" Gina chuckled apologetically. Over-zealous was an understatement. "--If you... you know, aren't ready to go on this date yet... I'm sure... I'm sure that your would understand "

Gina's admission to wanting a younger sibling opened up a very familiar avenue of conversation. It was a debate that she'd had with her own brothers plenty of times. Just as Locke had so many reasons why being older wasn't as great as it sounded, Gina had her own reasons behind wanting to have a younger little shadow. She indulged Locke, and let him say his part. Again, it was probably the most he'd said all night.
>> "Being older isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Don’t get me wrong, Chris and Mai are the best thing that’s happened to me, but you always worry about them. Is he eating his veggies? Is she going to have guys try to flirt with her? Then they try to get into your stuff, so your room isn’t yours anymore, it’s got your clothes and your music, but it’s not really yours... And I bet you probably got treated like a slave at one point, but that doesn’t work. Guilt for one and risk of being snitched on. I bet your parents are more likely to give you a little bro or sis than Kendra is. I think twins kind of turns you off from having kids anytime soon.”
"Oh, it's just my Mom," Gina trailed absently, "Her husband, Robert, died before I was taken-in, and she hasn't really... stuck with a guy, since-" She shrugged, shifting back to an avenue that wasn't so awkward to discuss. Pamela didn't date much, since there was such a limited supply of men in Mendocino. Gina figured she liked the single-life, though, or was just waiting for someone who owned up to Robert. Robert would be pretty hard to top, from how Pamela spoke of him, "But, if she ever just adopted another kid, I think I'd like that. My brothers always fuss over me, especially when it comes to guys-- They're so overprotective, just like you said, and they totally spoiled me rotten when I was younger. I'd like the responsibility of looking after someone though-- not always being the baby, even though I'm fifteen... If I had a little sister, sure, she'd probably try and borrow my clothes, or at least mimic me... my baby brother might pester me just like my big brothers do, but... it could be fun."
All this talk of home made Gina a little homesick. With the inconsistent profit of the shop, there was no telling when she'd be able to go home. She really missed her family, and Gina broke off in reminiscience. She excuse her silent spell with a sip of her soda. It seemed as though the small talk had effectively mellowed her out.

Agnes attempted to hush Gina as she complimented how she was looking, her cheeks coloring shyly. Gina smiled smuggly, arching her brows as she tucked the eyemakeup back into the bag, now that she was finished with it. It was adorable how Agnes got all embarrassed over such simple compliments, but Gina didn't call her out on that-- because Gina did it, too.
"I call it as I see it," she said simply. readjusting the bag and looking at the counter. Now that Agnes's eyes, which were probably the most intensive part of the makeup process, were complete, everything else would be a breeze. Particularly seeing as Gina didn't have foundation, cconcealer, or powder.
>> “Oh, ugh... N-No, thank you. I don’t think I’ll need that.”
"O-kay!" Gina sang, clapping her hands. She didn't pick up on the sigh, for she wasn't looking at Agnes... she just assumed that her sister was exasperated with the lengthy education process, "In that case, all I've got is some blush and some lip-stuff--" By lip-stuff, Gina meant a couple of things, but lips were quick. Gina's fingers trailed absently over the assortment of makeup, seeking out precisely what she was looking for. She found it, a small compact of blush, and then rummaged into her bag for the rather large brush that accompanied it.
"This is blush," Gina announced. She didn't wear blush, as once again, it was something that was a bit skintone-specific. She was really just an eye-makeup and lips kind of girl, but happened to have blush that Constance had accidentally left with Ginas' things, and Gina had simply never given back, "It's just what it sounds like-- gives your cheeks some color."
Although Gina doubted Agnes would need any artificial cheek-coloring-- he cheeks were already luminously glowing on their own. As Gina turned to survey her sister, she caught the absent, maybe pensive or sorrowful look in her eyes, and Gina's grin faltered for a moment. She was having far too much fun, and Agnes... well, Agnes didn't look like she was having fun. Had Gina forgotten herself and gotten to wrapped pu in the makeover?
"Hey," Gina said, her voice adopting a gentle, inquiring tone, attempting to rouse her sister from her thoughts. Gina inclined her head, her smile shifting to something more subdued, "You okay? Talk to me."

Gina's tongue curled over her upper lip in focus, carefully and lightly outlining Agnes's upper lash-line. She did both eyes, without stabbing Agnes in the eyeball or smudging the eyeshadow, and gave her second instruction. Agnes lifted her gaze towards the cieling, as if uttering her final prayer before being subjected to some ancient torture.
>> “Please be careful.”
Gina smirked, her only reply being a simple, maternal, "Trust me."
Not "Don't worry," or "There's nothing to worry about." Agnes was already anxious enough, so it was counterintuitive to tell her to calm down... Gina didn't think that her older sister could calm down.
Agnes sat stock-still, as if Gina was holding a needle to her eye, and her eyelids fluttered slightly as Gina drew closer. It was a reflex-- something pointy was coming closer, so she almost blinked, but resisted. Gina carefully drew a line along her bottom set of eyelashes, She finished the lining the first eye, and announced it quietly, before moving onto the second. Gina was focused, but found time to mutter a faint reassurance or two in amidst all of this. She drew back, once done with the liner, and announced, "Congrats! You survived the eyeliner!"
>> “How does it look? Do I look silly?”
"I hope not," Gina huffed teasingly, puffing her cheeks out at the dazed-looking Agnes, "That would be an awful lot of work to make you look silly-" Lest Agnes wasn't in the mood for teasing, Gina smiled and sighed, "You're looking stellar, Agnes."
She paused, looking at Agnes' eyes speculatively, murmuring more to herself than to Agnes, "Yeah, I did well-- don't need to curl your lashes, because they're naturally curly... lucky break, because I've got curly lashes, and haven't got a curler-" Gina rose her tone, now addressing Agnes, "Do you want some mascara? They make your eyelashes thicker and longer, but yours already kinda are..."

>> "Yes sir, er, m'am,"
The Freudian slip earned little more than an arched eyebrow. The eyebrow arch said little more than, Do I look like a man to you?! Gina wasn't offended, she was just befuddled. She listened as Locke spoke freely about his fraternal twin siblings, Chris and Mai. It was quite adorable to see him speak so enthusiastically of them, but that wasn't something that Gina would have ever told a guy.
"Sounds adorable," Gina agreed, "Seven's a fun age-- they're smart and amusing, to boot. Sometimes I wish I wasn't the baby of the bunch... I'd have loved to have a little sister or brother."

Okay, here's what I've come up with, guys-- the meat of the drama and other such stuff entails Gina and NPC's in my mind... Wouldn't make for a fun thread if it were just Agnes and Em sitting there while Gina is confronted by law enforcement, Xavier's headmistress, and possibly her mother... So, I'm thinking, half-solo thread and half-normal thread? And I just bring you guys after all the technical nonsense is through? Or just before, so that Em could help corroborate with Gina's description of Vicente...
Sound good to you, or is there further input/questions? Do you want to be around for the boring technical stuff, or should I stick with the hybrid thread?
