The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Agnes still couldn't believe this was happening. When she initially had gotten the invite from Becca, she had thought it was a joke. After all, an extradimensional sanctum? That sounded like one of those comic books that Booker is always going on about. It should have been impossible.
Then again, "impossible" stopped being a valid term months ago.
So here she stood, standing in an extradimensional plane that was occupied by the visage of a library. We get it, Becca, screw impossible. She had to marvel as she looked around, utterly floored by all of this. It was beautiful and something that she was slowly growing thrilled at being a part of.
In her arms she clutched an assortment of wax candles that looked homemade. These she carried deeper into the space and found an empty shelf to start placing them.
"Early readings show that pure beeswax candles are good for a variety of rituals," She says as she sets them out. On her arm are a few visible scars from recent bee stings. "Harvested and made them myself. This should get us started."
Agnes smiled as conversation with the musclebound Hercules continued. It was still a stressful time but she found herself beginning to unwind, finally, as the alcohol began to seep in throughout her system. It was finally getting a little relaxing. All she had to do now was wait for Nessa to show.
Her calm was suddenly interrupted when hands grabbed her stool seat and spun her around. The world whipped around her in a blur, briefly throwing her into confusion, until she noted the familiar face and even more familiar lips press against her own.
She fell into that brief kiss, so grateful, so thankful, it was waiting for her after all that had happened. For a brief moment she smiled stupidly, happy for the distraction.
Her thoughts were jumbled. Fearful of the future, lamenting the loss of her insects, curious as to what her new found gifts would bring, and justified in the pain she caused her aunt. The usual reactionary thoughts to trauma and an uncertain future.
"Not for you to apologize for," she replied. "Things...happened. At least I got to punch my aunt so hard she collapsed into a pool of her own vomit." Agnes then added with a laugh.
Again her conversation was interrupted when another of the mystics, the singing one from earlier, introduced himself and inquired after good for herself and those interested. She offered him a kindly smile and bowed her head in thanks.
"Thank you, Mr. August. Yes I'm actually starving."
Agnes breathed a deep sigh again. She needed to watch herself or shed pass out from exhaling too much. But she found it hard not to. A lot had happened in a very, very short amount of time. Her world was literally changed, both personally and at large. How was she supposed to just go with that?
Another sarcastic, though softened, reply. The flat tone almost hurt more than something loud or shrill. Agnes wanted to apologize again but found she was beaten to the punch when Nessa continued and the tenderness returned to her voice.
For the first time all night genuine tears began to form in the corners of her eyes and she found herself quietly taking a moment to sob. It was different. It was all just so goddamn different now.
"Y-Yeah...ahem....yeah. It was Agatha. And...I-I know. I wanted to. But...once I had heard..." she stomached the churn or anger again. "Once I had heard she was here something...snapped. It was...the hive queen, I think. Spurred me on....said she deserved it. Nessa I had read the reports given to me about her. And...I couldn't stop myself..."
Agnes was nervous. While yes it was true she was still alive after losing her powers, punching the heck out of her aunt, and running from a giant tentacle demon, the real challenge was coming up -- waiting for Nessa's response. As the phone lines were still giving her trouble, the former insect queen began to mill about the grounds, holding her phone up to get bars. She could never understand how she could still access the internet when the phone lines weren't working! Stupid 5G whatever! She slumped then, looking back to her phone screen and returned to swiping constantly to refresh it. Still no response from Nessa but she was getting more comments than normal. Interesting. Apparently all it took to get the internet's attention was to show someone's absolute dumptr-
She jumped when suddenly her screen shifted and instead of her Speedigram she was looking at Nessa's icon glowering at her as a phone call was coming through. She was both relieved and terrified. But, after a second of calming her heartrate she took the opportunity to take a breath, center herself, and swipe the answer button.
The voice on the other line was crisp and sarcastic. So far everything was still in the green.
Agnes smirked a little nervous and shrugged her shoulders (as if her girlfriend could see her). "I mean, that's true," Agnes replied. "But then I'd risk you getting swept off your feet by said sexy camgirls. We need to come up with safewords and hard limits first before we commit to that kind of scam." She chuckled. It was forced. Wasn't natural. And after a moment she slumped and continued. "Listen I'm...so...so very sorry. It...just got out of hand..."
She wasn't sure how she ended up here, but Agnes found herself in a strip club of all places, with many of the survivors of the mansion attack. At some point when she had been trying to text Nessa and let her know that everything was alright, she had gotten swept up in the party bus and wound up in this place called "Hexes and Hos". She had never heard of it before this night but now that she was attuned to the magical energies set free in the world, she could see the heavy fog of magic that was accumulated here. Interesting.
Too shy to ask for a ride home, or wherever Nessa wanted to meet, Agnes found herself sitting at the bar, sharing a shy smile with Madison as drinks were laid out in front of them. With a shrug of her shoulders, she picked up the glass and threw back the shot, and sighing as the alcohol filtered through her system. Normally she wasn't the biggest fan of it. Her insects would buzz in agitation in her chest but, more often than not, she found herself ignoring it. Now, however, there were no insects to bother anymore. The sobering thought tried to break through in her mind but it had a difficult time trying to steer through the alcohol that was already spreading within. She really should have eaten something first.
She lifted her head to Madison, wanting to inquire if there were an french fries, wings, or something she could eat while drinking (strip clubs had buffets, didn't they?), when she felt a firm pat on her back with almost caused her to drop her phone.
"Ooof!" she gasped and turned around to find the massive, muscular man suddenly reach out to shake her hand jovially. She shot him a timid smile, crystalline eyes almost scared for a moment as his exuberance, but quickly calmed herself. "H-Hello! Agnes! Agnes Belladonna Honey. Nice to meet you Hercules."
>> "You kept us safe; you're entitled to be a little awkward, honey. Though you might want to call your girlfriend. Not about meeting me, but to let her know you aren't, you know, dead."
Agnes blanched at the words. After everything that had occurred, her snap decision to chase down her villainous aunt, the sudden loss of her powers, and defending the remains of the mansion (and the world) from a giant tentacled eldritch entity that seemed as if it walked out of those "animes" that she's caught Nessa watching, she had completely forgotten to check in. Really that made a case for her being the world's most awful girlfriend. But she couldn't dwell on that for too long. She needed to try and assuage the other's fears because there was no way that Nessa didn't know where she was.
With that in mind, Agnes nods to Charmz, and turns away as she fishes her cellphone out of her jean pocket. Thank goodness in all the mess that had occurred that she didn't lose her. Surprising too considering how ripped her clothes were. Her jeans had been shredded into jean shorts and her top was barely hanging on by a thread, courtesy of her transformation and suddenly de-transformation to and from her Hive Queen form. For a moment she lamented. She would never feel that side of her again...would she?
Shaking the thoughts off, Agnes offers another shy smile to Charmz (gosh she was even prettier in person) and then turned away holding the phone up. Yay for bars! She quickly tapped through the screen options, settling on her contacts, selected the picture of Nessa wearing cat-ear headphones and sticking her tongue out, and tapped it. At first she tried to call but it seems in the wake of the emergency occurrence, the phone lines were busy. With a grumble she resorts to her only option.
Flipping her phone into the Speedigram app, she holds the selfie camera up, holds up two fingers, a shy smile, and gets as much of herself and the mayhem around her in frame (including what looked like a pretty nice view from Charmz from behind). Once the picture was taken, she uploaded it onto Speedigram and tagged Nessa, along with the text:
U up?
Nothing like a little humor to break the tension, right?
She shouldn't be here. She knew that. She wasn't an X-Man. From what she had learned about her past, maybe at some point there was some lofty ideas but clearly all of that fell out. Now that she had been deaged and had a second chance, she was all about finding who she really and truly wanted to be. She wanted to live and not have to think about all that bull she suffered through just for being different. She had a second chance.
She she heard about her. Agatha. Evangelical and a mystic. Talk about double standards. Agnes couldn't believe it when she learned that information. But she had and with the attack coming upon the X-Men, she had to act.
Stalking through the woods surrounding the mansion, Agnes had sent out several of her insect scouts but keeping the royal guard near her. Most of her journey had been quiet but she eventually came across a couple of mystics who were in the middle of a summoning circle. They talked too loud. They screamed even louder when the flies and bees began to sting and bite them. Normally the young woman was more reserved and gentle, but now it seemed like something primordial was waking up inside of her. She could feel it writhing and twisting, something that wanted to hatch out of her body and present her with the strength she needed to finish what needed to be finished.
Wait...what? Didn't she just want to talk? Try to figure things out? Convince her because they were family? No. Sting. Bite. Consumeeee. She could feel the darker voice rolling through the back of her head. She'd never heard or felt this way before, at least that she knew. So why was she feeling it now. The mystics...had to be.
With a soft growl on her voice, and a sense that she was going the right way, Agnes pressed on in search for the mystic known as Agatha.
Mutation description: Living Nest - Agnes has a strange and grotesque ability in which her body has become a home for various swarms of vermin. Inside her body she houses a swarm of roaches, flies, and hornets which she can release through her mouth. Once the swarm is released though, she does have to re-ingest them to restore those she loses. She does not mentally control these creatures, but in fact simply releases them and they defend her fiercely. To house these creatures, her mutation has altered her body to develop these specialized sacs inside of her chest where the swallowed insects are stored. Once inside, they remain in a sort of suspended animation until she releases them. While her insects are in suspended animation, their bodies are fed through nutrients the sacs they reside in provide. This seems adequate to keep them alive and want to defend her should she be in danger.
Strengths:
Insect Types She Houses: Dolichovespula – Yellowjackets - Standard type of yellow and black wasp. These pack a venomous stinger and when released are instantly aggressive. Total Number Housed: 30 (15 per sac) Musca domestica – Housefly – That are the standard housefly that can be seen rooting around garbage. Alone they are harmless, but these are some of Agnes most numerous flies. They create thick clouds that can be a true annoyance. Total Number Housed: 60 (30 per sac) Periplaneta americana – Cockroach – These creepy crawlers are not dangerous alone, but in a swarm and aggressive they can bite, overrun and just generally creep out anyone who gets in their way. Total Number Housed: 40 (20 per sac)
Defend the Nest: The insects she releases will defend her because for all intensive purposes, she is their nest and home, and will cause her no harm. Whenever they are released, that is a sign for them to be battle ready so they are instantly aggressive.
Insect Beacon: Her body has a special scent and feel to it so insects tend to flock around her, thus she has a supply of insects whenever she needs to restore her cache of insects.
Immunity to Insect Toxins: Because of the insects that are housed within her, her body as developed an immunity to the bacteria and toxins that these bugs tend to hold within them. Therefore if she was stung by a wasp, she would feel the pain, but there would be no after effects.
Call to Arms: When these insects are released her body releases a chemical that awakens them from their suspended animation. The chemical also acts like a call to arms, making all her bugs instantly aggressive and ready to harm whatsoever threatens their home (Agnes).
Weaknesses:
Hygiene: Because she houses all these creatures, she does smell vile, naturally since that is what these creatures thrive on. This tends to keep people away from her. [NOTE: Her scent is now only detected by those mutants with a heightened sense of smell]
Insect Consumption:If she loses any of her vermin, whether through battle or natural death, she must swallow others whole in order to replace them. This process is gross and if she has to do it, she does it alone.
No Insect Hivemind: She does not mentally control the swarms, they simply defend her as they would any nest. If they manage to get away from her, or she is knocked out while she they are released, they will wander away and seek a new home.
Only Familiar Insects: The insects she has in her body now, are the only ones who will protect her. She cannot pick up a millipede, swallow it and assume her body will house it. Her mutation is still too new and her body will not recognize the creature and instead pass it down into her digestive system. (Eww!) For now she can only house the Housefly, the Yellowjacket and Cockroaches since those were the first her body adapted to when her mutation developed.
Insect Beacon: Though it is good to have the insects always around in case she needs to consume more, they do follow her everywhere! Stores, restaurants, hotels, etc, if there are no air tight boundaries, her insects will find a way in.
Bug Sacs: The sacs that are inside of her chest are as sensitive as any organ. If Agnes receives a serious wound and any of these sacs are ruptured, it will take a lot of time for them to heal enough to hold insects again. And if bugs are in them if ruptured, the shock will kill them instantly and she will regurgitate them out of her body.
Power Growth:(11/04/2011) Insect Attributes Agnes' mutation has evolved to absorb and mimic the genetic information of the insects she houses. So far she has the ability to gain the wings of a housefly, the tough carapace of a cockroach, and the stingers of a wasp. Unfortunately Agnes can only gain one of these attributes at a time, never all together. To do so she must actually molt in-between gaining these physical changes.
Strengths:
Look Like a Bug: Agnes may gain one of three attributes that her body has evolved to accommodate: - Housefly – Wings – Agnes can grow a pair of housefly wings from her back which are equivalent to her size and are able to support her weight when she flies. Unfortunately they cannot support much more than that. At most she can carry maybe about 50 extra pounds of weight while in flight. In reference to speed, Agnes can fly anywhere between 30 – 35 mph and sustain flight for about 1 hour before she has to rest. Of course at first, Agnes will have to learn and develop her chest and back muscles in order to use her newfound wings effectively.
- Cockroach – Carapace – Agnes can develop a thick carapace of tough skin over her epidermis. This carapace is tough, but it is by no means bullet or knife proof. At most she can take some extra blunt force damage. For example, someone can swing a Louisville Slugger at her arm and it won’t break her arm. It’ll still hurt like hell though. With the carapace attribute Agnes’ skin takes on a slightly off-greenish color and looks a little more rigid than her normal skin.
- Yellowjacket – Stingers – A pair of retractable stingers, about three-inches long grow out from the palms of her hands. These stingers can deliver a non-lethal yet painful poison. It is an extremely weak version of the same wasp venom that the insect already houses. When Agnes delivers it, though, the serves as enough of a painful distraction for her to get away. She only has enough venom for four good stings though. After that she just has pokers in her palms under her body produces more venom which can take up to two days.
Lure of the Queen: Because of her bug attributes, more insects of the same type will be attracted to Agnes' call.
Weaknesses:
Look Like a Bug: Along with the strengths of her attributes, do come the weaknesses… - Housefly – Wings – While Agnes can grow a pair of wings, they can also be highly fragile. If the wings are punctured or broken, they are proven useless until she molts again and therefore has a new set of wings. Also these wings do not retract back into her body. She can bend them neatly against her back but other than that, they stay on her body until she molts to remove them.
- Cockroach – Carapace – This thick layer of skin can prove resilient to some blunt force trauma but it is of no good again a knives or guns. She can still feel pain from blunt force damage but if the carapace is damaged, it stays that way. It will not heal until she molts into a new carapace. Also this attribute does restrict her maneuverability and lowers her speed and reaction time. It also does deaden some of the senses on her skin where the carapace is.
- Yellowjacket – Stingers – She has a limited amount of venom she can release with these stingers. At most she has about four good stings before they are little more than barbs on her hands.
Molting…Ew…: In order for Agnes to access these abilities, she must first molt. This is a 24-hour process in which she sheds her outer layer of skin in order to reveal the new form underneath. How this is done is that Agnes’ skin begins to take on a thin, gray-like hue making her look sickly. Agnes then has to sleep for the process to continue which means that the skin hardens into a shell for her to break out of. Once she is done molting, the newest attribute has appeared right away, but it also leaves Agnes fairly exhausted for another 24-hours. Therefore she cannot shift between attributes on the fly (no pun intended). This also leaves a full size, translucent dead shell of Agnes behind that she must discard which…can just be gross.
Forced to Molt: Agnes may chose to keep an ability she gains, but must molt at least 30 days after her last molting stage. What this means is that Agnes cannot say, keep fly wings for the rest of her life. After a month, her body undergoes a molting stage with or without her say and she switches into the next attribute in the cycle.
Attribute Cycle: Agnes unfortunately cannot summon each individual attribute at will. There is an attribute cycle that follows: Wings – Carapace – Stingers. What this means is that if Agnes currently has the Carapace attribute and wants the Wings attribute, she must molt first into the Stinger phase and then molt again into the Wing phase.
Suggaaaaaaaaaarrr…!: Because of her new found attributes, Agnes, when getting close to molting, will crave a lot of sugar. This is a requirement for her body to handle the stresses of molting, which will take a toll on her. In compensation for her need to feed and lack of energy, her body will immediately crave sugar before she goes into the process so Agnes will have to drop whatever she is going to consume. Thankfully none of this sugar will be processed into fat and will instead be dispersed in order to create the shell she must break out of, but still…it’s inconvenient.
Power Growth: (11/04/12) Increased Capacity / New Insects Agnes body has housed so many insects that her mutation has now evolved to include more. Whereas before she only stored insects in special sacs situation inside of her chest, now her body has altered to include similar sacs that fit in both of her forearms (running from the elbow down to her wrists), and in her legs (from the knees down). In order for insects to have quick access to these new housings, her body has developed specialized slits that run for the length of her forearm and from her knees down. These slits will only open for insects and cannot be opened in any other way. Thankfully they are invisible to the naked eye. On top of this, because of the evolution of her body in include more insects, she will now be able to attract two more types of insect to her body:centipedes and ants.
Strengths:
New Insects She Houses: Scolopendra gigantean – Amazonian Giant Centipede – These large centipedes are extremely poisonous and dangerous. But because of their rarity and size, Agnes only can house two at a time. They are some of her most loyal creatures. Total Number Housed: 2 (1 per arm) Formicidae – Army Ant – Just the basic type of ant. The most important feature of it, though, is its ability to swarm. Because they are so small and crowd together, these are the largest amounts of insects she can hold. Total Number Housed: 400 (200 per leg)
New Look Like a Bug: Centipede – Legs – As the name suggests, Agnes gains hundreds of tiny, pincer-like legs that run along the sides and palms of her hands and fingers, as well as on her feet. The use of these extra legs is that they are so tiny, they work in unison and allow her to scale vertical surfaces and cling onto walls that have porous surfaces. These legs, when working together, are strong enough to hold up her body weight. Ant – Antenna – The long, segmented antennae pop out of the top of Agnes’ head and can bend forward and back. The black antennae can pick up the scents of her fellow insects, allow her to follow their invisible trails, even communicate more easily with them.
Weaknesses:
New Bug Sacs: These new insect containers, in her forearms and legs, are closer to the bone and surface, and therefore are most sensitive and prone to being damaged as opposed to the ones inside her chest. If the sacs are ruptured, she must wait until they heal fully before she can accept insects there.
New Look Like a Bug: Centipede – Legs – The main weakness of all these legs is that they are just creepy. She cannot retract them. At most she can fold them flat, but it still leaves her sense of a touch a little muddled since it is like weaving a glove only over the palm of her hand and bottoms of her fingers. Also, if she lose any (they snap off, are burned off, etc.), not only will it be harder to hold up her weight, but she will have to wait until she molts again to regain the full number. Ant – Antenna – Though they are tough, they are extremely sensitive. If they are tugged, cut, forcefully removed, it will hurt a extreme amount. On top of that, like many of her features, she cannot retract these antenna, they are there until she molts again.
Power Growth: (04/22/17) Hive Queen Form Agnes has reached the final stage of her evolution into the perfect hosts for insects. Dubbed, ”The Hive Queen”, Agnes has the ability to shift at will into a terrifying half-insect / half-humanoid. While in this form, Agnes has access to all of her physical mutations, including a thick carapace, stingers, wings, as well as the ability to produce a previously unknown parasite called Agnesiparasitus cerebrum (The Agnes Brain Parasite). While in this form, Agnes is lethal, less like the young woman most know her as. Strengths:
Strengthened Body: This form actually affords Agnes with a plethora of abilities. She has access to all her physical mutations which include: stingers (filled with venom), wings (so she can fly), antennae (communication with her insects and enhanced sense of smell), thick carapace (strong enough to shrug off a lead pipe swung into her), and insect legs (planted on the pads of her feet and her palms so she can climb walls)
Agnesiparasitus cerebrum: While only in this form, Agnes’s body can produce a microscopic parasite. It can only be administered into insects via her coming in contact with her blood. Once inside the parasites immediately make for the brain and nervous system of the infected bugs; once infected, the insects fall under Agnes’ control. This increases the ranks of her army of insects so she will no longer only have those within her body under control.
Prehensile Limbs: You can’t be an insect with only four limbs. Thanks to her Hive Queen form, Agnes forms four, long prehensile limbs that jut out from her back like spider legs. However, these limbs are tipped with four large spines, capable of stabbing, slashing, and clinging onto surfaces.
Fierce Defenders: When Agnes shifts into her Hive Queen form, the insects that dwell in her body become extremely protective. Their aggression is heightened and they are more willing to sacrifice their lives to protect her. They will even straight out attack Agnes’ allies and require firmer commands from her to pull them back.
Insta-Molting: Unlike her previous forms that she has to cycle through, the Hive Queen is a somewhat instantaneous form that doesn’t have a place in her regular molting cycle. If Agnes finds herself in a completely dire situation (fearful, angry, life on the line), she will activate the sleeping Hive Queen within. By tearing off her skin, Agnes unveils the insect queen inside. When she calms and makes the decision to return to her human form, the insect carapace withers away, revealing a nude Agnes inside.
Altered Thinking: Agnes Nicholas is usually quite timid. However should she be pushed to the point that the Hive Queen appears, Agnes has a very different and much more confident outlook. First and foremost she cares only about the survival of her insects and insect-kind. Second she is more deadly, willing to kill without thought if she believes she is right. And lastly she can be seductive, choosing to seduce her minions however she sees fit.
Weaknesses:
Wounding, Harm, Death: Despite the enhanced capabilities, Agnes can still be wounded and/or killed, it just takes more. Guns, finely sharpened swords, energy, etc., all of that can still kill Agnes in her Brood Mother form if they can pierce her carapace.
Stressful Shifting: Agnes won’t be able to shift into the Hive Queen at form at will. It requires her adrenaline to spike in an extremely terrifying or life or death situation. Only when extremely stressed will Agnes be able to shift into the Hive Queen.
Survival of the Strongest: While in this form, Agnes has a mentality that only the strong survive. She is all about the survival of insects and maintaining, even growing beyond, their place in the world. This puts her at odds with people who would normally be considered friends as Agnes doesn’t really see friends from enemies any more, and only acts against threats to the hive.
Monstrous Appearance: Her Hive Queen form is not an easy thing to look act. She is a mismatch of insects in a humanoid shape and that makes her quite terrifying. People who are not used to her, even those that are, will run screaming as she embodies the nightmares of every man, woman, and child.
In Need of Convincing: Becoming the Hive Queen greatly alters Agnes’ thinking. She cares only about the hive and her subjects and is extremely neutral considering anything else. Because of this she loses interest in her human side and at times can see no point in returning to it. She needs to be convinced to reach for her humanity to transform back, or she could choose to stay this way for as long as she likes.
Painful Transition: Shifting between forms is not a simple or pleasurable task. Unlike her molting cycle where Agnes cocoons herself and transforms slowly, the instantaneous transformation is actually very painful. When Agnes, the Hive Queen form lies underneath her skin and she is compelled to rip it away to release her. When shifting from Hive Queen to Agnes, her carapace withers and becomes a husk that she breaks through to reveal the nude young woman inside. Time is required between shifting as it exhausts her.
Power Growth REVISION: (03/31/20) Behold the Insect As an affect of he de-aging, Agnes abilities have altered slightly. Before she rotated between all of her insect attributes when she wasn't in Hive Queen form. She would go up to 30 days with one attribute and then would have to cocoon and do it again. However, now her abilities have altered after one final cocoon evolution where she now has all these attributes available to her all the time. She no longer needs to rotate through them but rather they are always active and she must arrange her life to exist with them always available.
Fly Wings:PRO: A pair of iridescent wings protrude from her back, allowing her the ability to fly. CON: Wings are easily breakable.
Roach Carapace:PRO: A tough carapace. It is compact and underneath her skin, making her look normal. CON: Not impenetrable. Can be broken.
Wasp Stingers:PRO: Retractable stingers set in the palms of her hands. CON: Has to make sure they are retracted before touching. Can definitely hurt.
Ant Antennae:PRO: Increases her sense of smell. CON: Strong smells can be a little much for her.
Centipede Legs:PRO: Thin legs protrude from the pores of her hands, allowing her to stick and climb to walls. CON: Has to make sure they are retracted as could make her inadvertently stick to things.
She liked the picture. It was sweet and a perfect representation of the two of them at this moment in their lives. Agnes wanted nothing more than to freeze this in place in hopes of it lasting a lifetime. But that wasn’t fair. From the few stories that Ms. Grey was willing to part with, heartache and maturity were just a natural part of relationships. As much as they wanted their summer in Europe to last forever Agnes and Nessa wanted to see what else the future had in store for them. Now wasn’t the time to be cautious; there was a life to live.
The squeeze to Nessa butt was warranted. After her self-deprecating comment, Agnes took it upon herself to correct the gamer girl. With a mischievous wink she didn’t say anything more, but after-glow of the pinch should serve as a reminder of further punishment should such behavior continue.
Already the crowd was swelling to the point that Agnes had to flutter her wings to keep others at bay. She wasn’t as tense about crowds as she used to be but even now and again it was easy to slip back into old habits. Still, with a smile on her lips and a iridescent glare on her wings, she followed quietly next to her girlfriend.
”Hmm?” she hummed dreamily. ”Oh definitely,” Agnes replied. ”I’d love to meet them for the first time!” They continued to move through the crowd, Nessa scanning for faces while Agnes distractedly glanced at various screens offering a plethora of gaming eye candy. ”Ah Venice,” she said in reply. ”Yeah that was a fun time.” She grinned as she hooked an arm around the gamer girl’s waist. ”You were such a tease on that dance floor. Fair warning though, you plan on doing that here, you’re going to pay in full later.”
The complement was nicely received. Agnes grinned from ear to ear, doing a little twirl for Nessa to show off her outfit. It wasn’t all that far from her usually outfits, but there was definitely more thought in how it was pieced together. It seems that Dan knew what he was talking about. When Agnes had asked him for advice on what to wear to a gamer club, she seemed wary at first but the looks she was getting, especially from Nessa, really made her feel as if she were fitting in with the crowd.
Dismissively she waved her hand with a scoff at Nessa’s concern at being carded. ”Please,” Agnes said with a laugh. ”The guy checking us in was too concerned with ogling my tits and your ass to care. Besides, we were in Europe just a year ago; clearly we’re more sophisticated and give off an aura of responsibility.”
There was an air of confidence in her that Agnes had steadily learned to get comfortable with. When she first discovered she had been deaged from someone in their late twenties, she noted things about her personality that didn’t seem the same as she remembered. Thankfully Ms. Grey, err, Mrs. Morris had been kind enough to inform her that in the time she lost, the personality was consistent. Now that she had been able to roll around in her recaptured youth, it was an aspect about herself that she finally accepted and reveled in.
She liked bold Agnes. She often wondered how else her older self had changed but it seemed she didn’t leave a very active footprint on social media. Even Nessa couldn’t find anything. That was probably all for the best. That Agnes wasn’t her anymore; as Nessa would say, they needed to find their own paths.
Speaking of...she couldn’t help but crack a small smile as she watched Nessa pull up her phone. The moment allowed the winged bug mutant to smile in appreciation. Nessa was a knockout and the dress only served to accentuate that fact. It was heartwarming to see because Nessa had gone through so much to be the person she truly felt she was. She was glad the recovery went so well and seemed to fill Nessa with much added confidence. That was all that mattered.
At the behest of her girlfriend, Agnes nodded as she approached her and quickly wrapped her arm around her waist. She snuggled in close and looked up at the camera lens in Nessa’s phone. Jokingly she stuck her tongue out for one picture but behaved (for the most part) with any following. It was in the last shot, however, that she turned and planted a kiss on the corner of Nessa’s lips and smirked.
”There,” she said after she pulled her lips back and smirked at the lipstick left behind. ”I have appropriately marked you as ‘mine’. Should you get lost, people will know to return you to this lip shape and color.”
Potion Craft. In all fairness, Agnes would have never thought of this place as a possible date location. Well, that wasn’t entirely true. Had she been the one to plan the date, the name of this may have eventually come up because she knew video games was something that Nessa enjoyed and made a career out of it. Agnes, on the other hand, had very little experience with the medium. Growing up in the household she did, such things had little chance of ever making it across her path.
But, now she was dating and in a healthy relationship with someone made this a regular part of their lives. She wouldn’t be a good girlfriend if she didn’t at least make the attempt to try and understand. Besides, while her exposure to the subject was limited, she had to admit that it looked fun. Plus, it was important to Nessa.
The bar was pretty interesting. After they had entered and had their hands stamped “1-Ups”, the duo stepped into the bar/club and were immediately swept away by the steady and catchy music from a variety of video game soundtracks, both original and remixed. Agnes found herself nodding her head along to the music as she followed Nessa into the club and attempted to survey the land.
The club itself was fairly standard at a glance but the video game themed knick-knacks were absolutely everywhere. Triforces, mushrooms, weapons, and etc., all pixelated were hung on walls, or used as light sources all around the interior. To one side lay a dance floor of multi-colored lights and to the other were booths and tables where people laughed and drank. Along another wall, Agnes could see a bank of flat TVs, each with couches and chairs situated around them where people played one of multitudes of video game systems that were out and available to play for all paying customers.
It was almost as if Nessa designed the place herself and the thought of that made Agnes smile as she turned to look at her.
Agnes herself had dressed for the occasion, but not without some help. When Nessa told her where they were going, she wanted to surprise her girlfriend by looking the part. More recently she had been hired as a sales associate for a trendy hat shoppe called Put a Lid On It. A new friend she made, Dan, agreed to help her foster a nerd girl aesthetic. It was only a couple of simple suggestions before Agnes found an outfit she truly liked.
Now, she wore the fruits of her labor: a nerdy graphic tee, electric yellow jeans, pink Converse shoes, and a light gray beanie over her hair. Dan tried to insist on her buying a fake set of glasses but that hardly seemed appropriate. She didn’t want to carry the aesthetic too far.
Her fingers curled around Nessa as she gave her a warm smile, her red lips curled upward as she tilted her head and eyed the young woman up and down.
”You look like you are in your element,” she beamed and squeezed her hand a little tighter. She then slumped and gestured to herself. ”I just hope I don’t look like a poser.”
Agnes couldn’t remember the last time that she felt so relaxed. Lounging in the gondola, Nessa leaning back against her under the sun, it truly felt like she had entered paradise. This whole trip had been amazingly refreshing. Though there was still a small part of her that felt awkward for allowing Nessa to pay for her trip, there was a certain balance that the two of them had found. This was especially true given the fact that they had other, more important things to consider now.
Her eyes hidden by her fashionable, ladybug frames, Agnes sighed heavenly, running her fingers softly through Nessa’s hair. Yes, with the trip coming to an end, they needed to have the inevitable discussion -- where did things stand with them?
The question initially seemed fairly easy, given the fact that they essentially been christening every bed they slept in since Amsterdam. But it wasn’t as easy as that. They were in Europe! A place of history and romance! It would be hard for any potential couple to resist the allure. But all vacations must come to an end -- so where did that leave them?
”Agreed,” Agnes said, her fingers playing soft circles on Nessa’s scalp.
Miss Honey. The name sounded quite pretty on Nessa’s lips. Leaning down, she planted a soft kiss on Nessa’s head before her fingers returned to moving teasingly over her scalp. Nessa described this as a “Honeymoon phase” but even so, the truth was that she was smitten with her.
She then snorted with laughter at the telepath’s faux-pas concerning their actions across Europe. At the same time she looked up to see that the gondolier was paying them no heed, probably used to similar conversations over the years. Agnes took a deep breath as she finally removed her cruel fingers from Nessa’s hair and rested them on the sides of their boat.
One hand reached up and pulled her sunglasses down so they were balanced on the edge of her nose. ”I...only know a little of who I grew up to be,” said said. ”Failed musician, adulterer, etc.,” she said, her voice threatening to carry melancholy with it. But instead of tears, she smiled. ”But that’s not who I am anymore. I...don’t know who I will be. But there’s one thing I would very, very much like,” She leaned down and pressed her lips for Nessa’s for a long, drawn out kiss. ”I want to see where we go from here. If you want to risk it, that is. I’ll jump if you jump.”
Europe was amazing. But what was also amazing was how much of it could be seen via bedroom windows. That wasn’t to say that Agnes didn’t appreciate the history and the beauty of being on this continent, it was gorgeous and every sightseeing trip would leave her with a multitude of memories that she would never forget. But, that being said, there was just something about reveling in the passions of another.
Agnes and Nessa had put a lot of mileage in whatever beds they found themselves and each time was as amazing as the last. Agnes’ only real experience had been with Rhythm and the young woman had made it clear back then that her intentions were purely physical. But for Agnes and Nessa, it was different. There was something truly sparking between them, a drive and a passion that Agnes could see whenever she looked into the telepath’s eyes.
And not only that, there was just something so satisfying about waking up, limbs intertwined with the other, bare skin pressed against bare skin. Agnes felt her heart flutter every time she woke up and found herself spooning close to the gorgeous woman, and it was a sensation that followed her throughout all Europe.
Truly she was lucky.
Sitting in the back of a gondola, Agnes smiled as she let her eyes close behind her dark shades. Her white, peasant top hung off her shoulders, baring her pale skin to the sun that shown down upon them. Between her arms, nestled against her, Nessa relaxed and lamented the near conclusion of their trip. Agnes couldn’t help but smile. Her chin rested upon Nessa’s hair as she offered a tiny pout.
”Sorry darling,” she whispered. ”But unless I hear in the next day or so that I actually grew up to be some rich oil heiress, I’m afraid that America is out next stop.” Her arms wrapped around Nessa’s midsection, stroking her stomach softly. ”But no worries. Wherever we go, we carry Europe in our hearts.” After a pause she giggled and produced a keychain she had just purchased from a stand. ”At least that’s what this keychain says. And keychains are very wise.”
She meant every word of it. It had been sometime since she met someone like Nessa. Jasmine will always be her first but while that budding relationship had been beautiful in it’s time, it had also run its course. There was no reason to continue dwelling in a past that, while it seemed to just be yesterday, was actually years buried. Jasmine will always have a place in her heart but it was clear that the universe had other plans for the insect queen’s love life.
And she was sitting right across from her.
With a dreamy smile, Agnes continued to hold onto Nessa’s hand, gently stroking her thumb over the knuckles she had just finished kissing. Truly this trip had been a godsend because this was definitely the happiest that Agnes had ever felt. She didn’t want it to end.
A blush and a look of shyness colored Nessa’s features. A whisper was uttered and it carried a message that was loud and clear to Agnes. With a glance around them, and a devilish smile, Agnes stood up from her chair and glided past Nessa, letting her hand drag wistfully along the length of the telepath’s arm, across her shoulder, and along the back of her neck.
After passing, Agnes turned to look over her shoulder at her gorgeous friend, smirked and led the way back to their rented flat.

It had been well worth the wait. With a shaky intake of breath, the bare, sun-kissed skin of the insect queen nestled against the body of her friend and now lover. As her breathing began to slow, she sighed with a contented breath, lips finding sweet, sweat-dotted spots on Nessa’s skin to kiss as the other woman turned in an attempt to open a window.
When the telepath would resettle into her previous position, Agnes pressed in close, draping her arm across the woman’s midsection, tracing invisible lines along her bare skin, smiling whenever a soft gasp or a small giggle was offered in response.
She had to grin more broadly as Nessa commended their self-control. ”Yeah, that wasn’t easy. At all.” Agnes said with a soft, hazy smile.
She didn’t exactly know how or where it started. Had it been since their first night here? Maybe the kiss they shared back in the hot tub? Agnes wasn’t sure where it started but the bundle of waving bliss in the middle of her core had been proof enough that this was right. This wasn’t just sex, after all, there was something deeper there, something that made her glad that it was Nessa she was sharing this bed with, and no one else.
A tender kiss to the top of her head brought her out of her musings. A reciprocated kiss was planted on Nessa’s stomach, followed by a soft nuzzle.
”My pleasure,” she whispered. She then climbed up until her sapphire eyes settled onto Nessa’s. ”I couldn’t be luckier to be here with you.” She then leaned down and pressed her lips against those of the telepath’s. With a sigh she settled onto Nessa, her body weight pressed lightly against Nessa’s as her hands cupped the woman’s cheek to kiss once again. ”And perfection always seeks perfection. So I guess we can be perfect together.”
Agnes felt like a paper bag caught in a breeze whenever she thought about her future. There was so much she wanted to do, so many options, but it was almost too much when she really sat down and thought about it. What was she even good at? Music, apparently. Good enough to get into the philharmonic, but look how that ended up. Because of her failed future, Agnes was still feeling gunshy about the idea. But then what did she have left? Sewing? Insect husbandry? Bee keeping? The options were vast and quite difficult to keep track of.
So what was a pixie cut-haired young woman to do? Nessa had options and it seemed like she was on the right track for figuring it out. There was a small bit of jealousy there. Not because Nessa had some fame and fortune, but because she had a clear idea what she wanted. Agnes? Not so much.
A smile returned to her lips when Nessa offered her comfort. There was time to figure things out and, if anything, Nessa could be there to help her figure it out in whatever capacity she needed her for.
”Thank you,” Agnes said with genuine appreciation. ”That does mean a lot. I’m sure with your help I can find a lot to talk about.”
Hrm...Nessa mused as she took another sip of her coffee. Nessa did have a point. There was more to music than the classical stuff she was trained to love. As a matter of fact, she couldn’t count the number of videos she found on ViewTube with musicians covering contemporary songs or reworking classics to give them a modern twist. Agnes let those thoughts settle in her head until she felt Nessa touch her hand.
Instinctively her fingers curled around Nessa’s as her hand was lifted, and sapphire eyes locked onto the other’s as she felt lips press against her skin.
The line was cheesy and cliched, that was for sure, but it still brought a wide smile to Agnes’ lips. A soft giggle escaped her mouth as Nessa seemingly recoiled from her own words and chastised herself for the lameness of it. The coloring of her cheeks was also fairly evident now.
Taking the woman’s hand, it was Agnes’ turn to pull Nessa’s hand to her lips and offer those exquisite knuckles a tender brush of a kiss.
”I dunno about anyone else…” Agnes started. ”...but for me, you’re sweet, kind, funny, intelligent, and ridiculously attractive,” she smirked, kissing each of Nessa’s fingers to cement each point she dropped. ”And most importantly, you’ve been amazing to me. I say that checks off all the boxes of my ‘You’ve Earned a Fangir’l list.”
