Jorge struggled to keep the water encircled around the thrashing beasts heads but he managed to do so. Droplets and spray were thrust about in every direction but the tired detective did not let up in the slightest. He simply couldn’t afford to. With how close he was, how physical over powered he was, he could not risk letting up on the pair of them. This was his last and only chance to get control over the situation and he was going to take it.
Carry, or the beast who was once Carry, thrashed and attempted to roar but up only ended up with a mouthful of more water, attempted to stalk towards him. It hissed and raised its talons to attack but, thankfully, it couldn’t keep moving without breathing. With a shaky move, it struggled to keep itself on two feet before suddenly he collapsed.
Once he was down, Jorge quickly pulled the water away and sent it flying onto the ground. It collided with a SPLASH and he sighed in relief as he watched Carrick shift back into his human form (while also still breathing). That was one down. He turned and spied that the Lion was bleeding, badly, but he was knocked out too thanks to both the pain from his wounds as well as the water. Well, that makes two of them down at least.
He sighed as he reached into his belt and pulled out his handcuffs. He stalked over to Lion and handcuffed him to a thick pipe that was embedded into the roof of the ceiling. The man was bleeding but he was not going to take any chances.
Once the suspect was secure, he turned and dashed to Carrick’s side. As he did so, he pulled off his coat and gently draped it over the boy.
>> “Mr. Cervantes? Is everything okay up there?”
Jorge shouted back.
“They’re fine!” he got up so that he could peer over the edge to see her. “Keep an eye out for my back up!! They should be coming by soon! Tell them to get a stretcher up here!”
He sighed as he turned back to Carrick and checked to make sure the kid was okay. This was a long night…seemed like it lasted forever…but at least everyone was okay.

Jorge had entered the kitchen and began finish the preparations for dinner. He had a baked macaroni and cheese in his oven, as well as a chicken in the roaster. The smells coming from the kitchen ought to have been delectable to anyone who caught a whiff of it as they passed by. Jorge prided himself in his cooking, since that was one of the first things that his mother ever taught him; after all, he enjoyed being self sufficient and didn’t care for the idea of being with someone just so that they could cook for him.
He opened his oven door and knelt down, peering instead to make sure that everything was cooking nicely. So far everything looked good! He hoped that this meal would better than the last one that Laurent and Valerie were a part of. Last time Valerie attempted to derail him by announcing in the middle of cooking that Laurent was a vegan, which obviously didn’t mesh with the dinner that Jorge already had planned.
Thankfully, that little lie was dismissed by Gemma. Still, though, ever since then, Jorge had it in his mind to try and be mindful of everything that people wanted; that and he really wanted to get back at Valerie.
>> "You think they'll get along?...Chase seemed very shy..."
Jorge stood up after he removed the foiled from the top of his chicken and tossed it into the trash. He smiled at Gemma as she squeezed her arm gently.
“It’s Chase, he’s always shy,” he smiled jokingly. “He’ll be fine. Valerie and Laurent made a good first impression on him. Chase will warm up, but he’ll do it on his own time,” Jorge said with a knowing smile. He used to be like Chase when he was growing up, shy and not speaking to anyone. He definitely knew what the kid was going through. “Just, you know, breathe,” he said encouragingly to his fiancée. He then turned, grabbed a plate and tossed a raw carrot and a handful of uncooked beans onto it. It looked like a rather odd and terrible dish. He held it up for Gemma to see. “Now, do you think this will be enough for Valerie? Didn’t she say she was a vegetarian the last time she was here?” he grinned impishly.

Jorge waited. He did not want to push Michael or shock him with displays of power or anything of that nature. Instead the burly looking detective just sat calmly on the floor and waited for Michael to take the next step in how this meeting was going to go. He had plenty of information to use against the boy’s father and it would definitely be enough to keep him here at the mansion instead of being sent back to that monster of a father. Michael would get all the love, attention, and care that he could handle at this school, which is a hell of a lot more than he ever received at his own home.
This boy was going to be safe here and Jorge was going to do absolutely everything in his power to make sure that things stayed that way. With all the trauma and pains that Michael went through, the least that he deserved now was for Jorge to fight as hard as he could to keep him away from his own home.
No, Michael would be a mansion student, he would make sure of it.
He watched as Michael looked up, suddenly looking relieved, as if Jorge had said something that not only caught the boy off guard, but calmed him down immensely.
>> “Y…You’re not…n-not taking my things…a-and..and arresting me?”
Jorge smiled tenderly. Deep down, his heart hurt upon hearing that that was Michael’s first thought about what was going to happen. What had his father done to him to drill such thoughts into his head? It was madness. But, the smile never faltered as he shook his head in response.
“No,” he proclaimed. “I’m not arresting you. I want you to stay here in the mansion. I want you to be happy.”
But he said nothing more after that. Instead, sensing that they game had wound down to an end, he watched as Michael wriggled closer to him and began to take apart some of his leggos. Slowly he started to rebuild them, though, following a pattern that Jorge was slowly beginning to make sense of.
He didn’t bother Michael, but instead watched as he played. He helped out where he could, offering leggos whenever they were out of Michael’s reach, and even helped with the building process whenever Mikey allowed him to. It was fun, to say the least. He would stay with the boy, play side by side with him until he was ready for Jorge to leave. Once that happened, he was submit his report and get the wheels turning to keep Michael here.
And come hell or highwater, he would accomplish it.

Sorry Chase. Jorge had tried his best to let the kid escape with him but it was obvious that that would have been rude. Yes, Gemma had not seen her kids in a long time, but this was a time where they were supposed to be getting to know their new little brother. It would not have been right to have the boy hiding in the kitchen with him the entire time. They needed to get to know him, especially they were all going to be a family now.
So, Jorge nodded to Gemma with a smile.
“I could use all the help I can get,” he beamed.
He turned and headed towards the kitchen but he heard Laurent and Chase behind him.
>> "I'm out of here, the further I am from the kitchen the better, for everyone…Hey Chase, you have a movie we could watch to be out of the way?..."
>> “Yeah, Come on.”[/color]
He smiled a little at that. Gemma’s kids got it, they knew that they needed to start to get to know the boy a bit better. Not that he expected them to shun Chase or give him a hard time; they were not monsters. Despite Valerie’s attitudes towards him, the detective knew that they were both good people who shared their mother’s ability to look into the inner workings of a person. They would treat Chase well and accept him into the family just as readily.
It was Jorge that they were going to give a hard time to! He smirked at the thought as he entered his kitchen and began to gather lunch, glancing at his fiancée if she decided to follow him in or not.

>> "Nah ya're not sorry yet…Good to see you too."
Jorge had to chuckle heartily. He knew that Laurent was probably right, especially since Valerie would, for all purposes, soon be his step daughter, and that was pretty much digging his own grave. But the detective didn’t voice it and instead just nodded. Apparently both he and Laurent were on the same page and read each other well. It was partially joking though. He nodded that it was good to see Laurent and turned back to Gemma, his future wife.
Jorge had let the conversation drift away from him as it now became Chase’s turn to be the center of attention. He knew that it had to be hard for the boy. He was so used to hiding his real appearance but because of Gemma’s aura, he could not use his powers. The boy was vulnerable and had to expose himself to these people who did not know him in the least…but they would be his family.
The first thing was that they stared, though. This made Jorge feel just a tad bit sorry for Chase. He knew the boy didn’t like to be stared at but it was quite a look to get over at first. He only hoped that both Valerie and Laurent would be compassionate enough towards the kid.
>> "Nice to meet you"
>> "Nice to meet you, too, Laurent…Nice to meet you, Valerie."[/color]
He smiled a little warmly as he watched them. Chase really was doing so good and at least Valerie and Laurent showed decorum to the boy. Things seemed like they would work out just fine.
“Well,” the detective said. “I think I’ll start putting everything together for lunch. Hope you all are hungry.” Jorge hoped to steal Chase away so that the kid could get a breather from this new situation, but at the same time, he was meeting his new family for the first time. He didn’t want to take him away from that. In the end, it was up to Gemma as to whether she would allow the boy to come with him.
He was sure, either way, that Chase would be fine…

Jorge had made sure that Elizabeth had started her trek down the ladder before he turned his attention back to the battle at hand. His most important task right now was getting Liz to safety and, now that she was one her way to do that, he turned his attention back to the two creatures battling for supremacy. Carry seemed to be in trouble now as the Lion pulled him into a headlock and effectively cut off his oxygen supply. Carry struggled but at the same time he was cutting deep into the Lion’s gut.
It was a death grip and sooner or later, if this kept up, they pair of them were going to die in each other’s arms.
Not on his watch. If there was one that the officer was going to allow was for one of his friends, and a perp, to kill one another. He felt out with his senses and immediately caught a large sense of water nearby. He turned and spotted a large water tank that had once been used to feed into the warehouse. It was probably dilapidated and should have been empty. But he sensed enough water in there to be of help.
The old ones he could always count on the catch rain.
Raising his gun towards the pair of them Jorge suddenly whistled loud enough to grab their attention.
“Hey!!!” he screamed as he pointed the gun at them. “Surf’s up.”
Suddenly she raised the gun, squeezed the trigger, and fired two shots into the water tank. The bullet holes immediately began to spill the watery contents. With a twitch of his wrist, Jorge suddenly the water in sudden jets towards the both of them. Water swirled and gnashed around both Carry and the Lion, distracting them enough so that they could be separated by the swirling masses of water. It was only when they were separated that Jorge proceeded to encircle the water around both their heads.
They wouldn’t drown, but it would be enough to knock them out…
