The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Jorge
Contrary to popular belief, Jorge was a rather simple man, with simple wants, and simple needs. It was because of that simplicity that he was rather straightforward with people, finding it needless to verbally jump through hoops unless he was trying to wheedle someone into doing something he required. But that was not what he was trying to do with these two. No, when it came to requirement, Jorge was all open and upfront with everyone because that was what he wanted from the people he worked with...honesty.
So he laid it all out on the line. They weren’t stupid. They wanted to know what it was that they were wanted for, and precisely why. He gave them the truth, he needed allies, especially on the other side of the rift and they were the most competent candidates so far. In return, of course, they would have health and safety and resources at their disposal, but Jorge wouldn’t try to make this too grand of a sales pitch. He wasn’t selling them a broken down Yugo and calling it a sports car, after all.
As it would appear, Isabel, the more mistrusting of the two, had questions…
>>"Just how long do you expect us to be stuck on this side of that Rip, Old Man? You know we're trying to get outta here as soon as we can and this doesn't exactly sound like a short term kind of deal. You say we're powerful and you obviously want us on your side, but once someone gets power they're not exactly happy to let it go without a fight. I don't really see how this is gonna work out too well for both sides."
>>“A fair point Isabel, and since any competent businessman...knows that willing employees are more profitable than unwilling I’d wager a guess that the ‘Old Man’ is looking to expand beyond--the current reality of his operations.”
He had to smirk. It really was like watching a comedy duo in actions. Isabel was quick to defend her freedom but to the point that she automatically assumed the worst. That wasn’t necessarily a bad thing, he was all for self-preservation, but it could make trust a difficulty. Then again, Dio once more proved to be the voice of reason, pointing out the very real fact of what this “Old Man” was looking for.
”You would be correct, Dio,” he said, looking between the two of them. ”Of course I would love your continued services on this side of the rip, but they would be rare. What I really need are allies on the other side, a place to start. Hence why I would like you both to join, to help ensure that my operations can continue to spread.”
>>“Really it should be a win win win scenario and if not I’m sure we can come to terms, though perhaps not tonight. Such talk deserve a clear head and it’s been a long day for all of us.”
Jorge noted how tired Dio looked and, admittedly, Isabel did as well. Of course, as much as he would have liked to swift recruitment, he wasn’t going to press the matter. The both of them were exhausted and if they were going to make a decision this big, they needed to be bright-eyed and bushy tailed. Of course, seeing as there would be too much heat around the rip tonight, they were going to have to bite the bullet and rest here.
He smiled and nodded his head to them both.
”Yes, where are my manners? You both must be exhausted.” He stepped past them, opening another door and stepping into another section of the complex. Stepping aside to allow them entry, if they choose, he gestured towards the hall. ”If you wish to stay the night, which I would considering that SUPER will probably be swarming the city, take this hall all the way down. Sleeping quarters are on the right. Feel free to choose whichever room suits you both.” He smirked. ”I promise, there will be utmost discretion.” He then gestured down the opposite hall. ”Down that way is the P.L.A.T.O. training facility if you need to work out some aggression. I leave it up to the both of you. Unfortunately I have other matters I must attend to.” He stepped away to allow them freedom to wander. ”I shall see you both in the morning. Please, do consider my offer.” He nodded to them both. ”Dio. Isabel. I look forward to your response.”
With that he turned and headed away from head, back into another direction of the facility. River had to update him on progress concerning her most recent discovery about the rip. As for Isabel and Dio, well, he had a feeling that the two of them would make the right call when it came down to it. All they needed was time.

If anyone catches your fancy, please respond to this thread if you have any ideas. If you REALLY want to talk to me, I'm usually on Discord (privately), somewhere, or you can PM me. And if you don't want to do either, well, that's what this is for! So please, take a look! I will link this page to all my character signatures (or at least try) so if you have interest, I'm just one click away. ^_^
JORGE CERVANTES
MALE - 47 - X-MEN
WATERMANCER
Jorge Cervantes is a dedicated member of the New York City police force, specifically in the Mutant Related Crimes division. He is a good man, a good cop, and a part-time member of the X-Men. He doesn't really have a codename yet, but some have begun to refer to him as Neptune (due to his water manipulating abilities). Most recently he came back about a year ago after having been lost at sea, floating as little more than particles of water in the ocean. Needless to say it was pretty traumatic but he's back in full force. If you want to see where you can fit into his life, check out below:
FRIENDS: Jorge is actually a pretty friendly guy. If you manage to make friends with him, you'll not regret it as he bends over backwards for others. ENEMIES: Criminals, evil-doers, yada yada. Jorge has made his fair share of enemies. LOVERS: Jorge is currently engaged to one Gemma Taylor . You can try to steal him away but I doubt you'd get very far, haha.
Agnes has had quite the sorted story. She started off a victim of her parents, cruel people who attempted to exorcise her for being a mutant. The abuse she suffered caused her to run away from home where she eventually found her way to Xavier's. For the most part she has tried to live a quiet life but due to recent events, she has returned as a woman hellbent on revenge against the world. Her kindness has melted away to cruelty and the humanity (as well as certain people) will burn for pains she has suffered:
FRIENDS: Agnes doesn't have many "friends" anymore, just people she's willing to tolerate to get what she needs. But, who knows, the right psycho can come along and be quite friendly. ENEMIES: Agnes will start carving a way of destruction soon enough, plenty of people will be after her. LOVERS: She's having fun and is opening to seducing just about anyone.
Booker is the sweet, sweet cinnamon roll of the group. He is a kind man, a nerd, a librarian, and really just wants to make the world smile. He currently works at the New York Public Library and is always willing to lend a hand. He loves to talk books, to work out, to game, to cosplay, and generally just enjoy his life.
FRIENDS: Booker can make friends with anyone, so long as they are not cruel people. ENEMIES: Few can really dislike Booker, but his pranks and his Adapted nature probably irritate some. LOVERS: Booker is a hopeless romantic with a long past of loves. He is currently single after breaking things off with a member of the X-Men.

Jorge
Jorge smiled, stopped and turned back to face the duo that he had just led down here. Sure, maybe it was a bit of a risk to bring people whom he had only known for less than an hour, but Poseidon wouldn’t have been in his position if he didn’t take risks. Besides, considering the manner in which they handled the SUPER agents, he doubted that they would say anything against his revelations. And, even if so, two new fish in his universe could easily be taken out. But there was no sense in considering such thoughts at the moment.
He waited in silence for them to react, instead taking the moment in at attempt to read both of their body languages. They both seemed guarded, with questions, but other than that, the man wasn’t a mind reader. Dio was certainly the more collected of the two, with a far superior poker face. But Isabel, well, she was quick to open her mouth. Good, he preferred it when people were transparent.
>>"The Syndicate, huh? Not a bad place, Old Man, but what exactly is the Syndicate and what's it do? And what do you want us down here for?”
>>“We’re being recruited Isabel and I assume we’re down here because it’s more secure but also because our friend wants to make a statement about the resources at his disposal, underground complexes aren’t cheap after all.”
He smirked. Really the two of them made an excellent comedy duo. Classic formula of the mismatched couple, one quiet and strict and the other loudmouthed and a little more off the rails. Jorge would probably have a hearty laugh if he watched them on TV, but right now this was actually a serious matter.
>>“As for what his group does, well I’m just as curious as you.”
With a nod of his head, he slowly stepped forward, his arms crossed over his chest as he spoke. ”We are trying to lay the bedrock of a better world. You both heard my spiel about ‘mutants being greater than humans’ so on and so forth.” He sighed. ”It gets a little repetitive after awhile. Don’t get me wrong, I believe it through and through, as do my associates. But...why talk when I can show you?” He turned to lead them both on a tour of the facility. ”You see, for as much as I want the total destruction for the human race, at the end of the day, I’m not a wasteful man.” He said, opening a door to lead them through. ”I don’t haphazardly destroy resources. Humans will die, that is a given, but what matters is how they die. For as much as a nuisance as they are, I don’t believe in their total annihilation in one fell sweep. I believe in using them up until there is nothing left.”
Opening another door, Jorge walked through, entering a warehouse-like portion of the facility that was manned individuals who were too busy moving and loading boxes to look up. The whole operation seemed well-oiled and machine-like, a reflection of the man’s practices and his striving for perfection. Jorge didn’t stop to look at them, though, instead continuing on.
”What we do is...a bit of everything. The club upstairs provides vices to take their money, to hook them onto illicit activities that we specifically control, as well as provide a backlog of evidence against certain individuals in power so ensure that we are always a step ahead of the humans.”
He pushed through another door, this one leading to a small room where chemist were clearly hard at work. Here, Jorge stopped, sighed, and picked up a small vial that was filled with pills that were gold in color and stamped with a symbol for a chalice. He tossed the vial to them so they could inspect it.
”And that, is one of my favorites -- Ambrosia. The gift of the gods.” He sighed happily just saying it. ”Grants humans mutants abilities, temporarily, of course, and has the added side effect of being extremely addictive. Humans have given up the deeds to their homes for just half a pill.” He chuckled, sighed, and paused. ”Mutants need to dethrone humanity -- but that doesn’t mean we can’t use them up on the way down.” He took a second to contemplate, watching them both, before he continued. ”You both are impressive. Powerful. You could find safety and a purpose here...if you wanted it.” He offered a knowing smile. ”But I’m a businessman...and neither of you are stupid. So if you want to talk terms, what you want in exchange, I’ll be more than happy to sit and discuss with you.” He gestured around. ”Unless you both would rather wander around and take a look for yourself before deciding? I have nothing to hide.”

Jorge
Jorge liked power. Not that big of a leap to make when considering the man’s business (the providing of vices to the populace) as well as his shadier activities. Because of that, the man who silently went by the moniker of Poseidon made it a point to collect power wherever he could. Whether that be inviting like-minded mutants to joining his cause or ensuring that people in new positions of power were quickly pressed under heel. So long as someone could be of use to him, Jorge pulled out all the stops to ensure that they were on his side, one way or the other.
This month, a new CEO for a wildly successful banking firm had been announced, a Mr. Gregory Anton who had been heralded as a kind of saint amongst the people of his organization. For as entertaining as Jorge usually found such people to be, deep down, he knew that there was more than meets the eye. Whether Mr. Anton was a pure and innocent man, or simply a liar who kept his skeletons in the closet, Jorge didn’t know, but he would. All it would take was a little prodding in the right direction. Thankfully, today, he had the perfect bait.
The Atlantis Club was a hotspot in the city. On the outside it was a place where everyone could attend, where they could spend their money for a night that they wouldn’t forget. The music. The alcohol. The ambiance. It screamed a pleasure-driven time and promised people their wildest dreams. It was the kind of place that similar folks in Mr. Anton’s field would usually find themselves, wasting money that wasn’t their own in the casino, or carrying on illicit affairs with some of the more curvaceous beauties who worked the club. Really, there was something for everyone here and, if Mr. Anton had a weak spot, Jorge would find it.
Tonight Jorge made it a point to clear his schedule so that he could hold a “business meeting” with said individual. It just so happened that this new CEO would be heading an organization which Jorge used frequently. Already most of the company was in his pocket, but moves couldn’t be made until he had infiltrated every portion of it -- the last he needed was Mr. Anton safe and snug by the throat.
Walking down the smooth steps of the staircase, Jorge chuckled heartily at the thirty-something man at his side. He seemed a bit timid, but one does not get to be the CEO of such a company without having a bit of a backbone. If anything, he was probably was just a prude, a man inexperienced in pleasure-seeking because he buried himself in his job. That was good, that was something that Jorge could certainly work with. His arm around the man’s shoulder, he patted his back firmly as he led him towards the bar.
”Come along, my good man!” he said. ”As a long time client of your particular firm, I would be remiss if I didn’t at least offer the latest CEO a drink!”
“Oh...I...I don’t know,” the man said with a nervous chuckle. “I don’t ordinarily drink mid-week.”
Jorge would have none of it, instead leading the man towards the bar, in particular to spot where a certain, entertaining colleague of his was already waiting. ”Oh I won’t hear of it! There’s nothing wrong with having single drink, especially if it helps the cultivate the lasting friendship that I’m hoping for!” He grinned, clapped the man on the back again, and led him through the thick, dancing throng of people barring them from the bar. As soon as they broke through, Jorge conveniently made space for Mr. Anton directly next to his associate, a wonderful and teasing Ms. Selestina. ”Tommy!” he said to the bartender. Before he turned away, he gave Selestina a knowing smile, signalling for her to start her magic while he busied himself getting the drinks.

Jorge
Hi all!
Jorge here. This is just a notice of slowness / possibly absence. Me and Mrs. Jorge are going to be moving by the end of the week. We are the proud owners of a condo (our first purchased home) and we are planning to move in this Thursday (30th). Because we still have packing to do, and we are trying to schedule all the important activation of things such as internet and electricity, I will probably only be active from work, but even then we are starting our Finals schedule and that means that I will probably be uber busy. Therefore, I am just passing this along to let everyone know that I may not be around much this week, or possibly even the next as that will start my crazy hours. However, I will, of course, post where I can and, if anyone needs me, feel free to PM me here or message me on Discord if you have it.
Thanks oodles and I will see you guys from my new home!

Jorge
Several squads showed up, greeting Jorge in the foyer. While he could see that they wanted to let their jokes fly, the tragedy was that there were still several people trapped in this room, all of which were laid out on the table in jars, plates, etc., all relieved for rescue, but terrified for the future. What was to be their lives now? They were pastries. Candies. Cakes. What life was left for them other than cartoon parodies on kids’ shows? Even Jorge was now beginning to be pestered by thoughts of him, his life with Gemma, Chase, and Mari. What would they say?
One of the paramedics, a nice looking man dark beard and stylish hair, moved into the room and with his partner. They honestly didn’t seem to know where to start but as they turned to start working on the fallen baker, one of them reached down to take his pulse. Almost instantly Jorge could feel a change sweep over him, a sudden spark -- and he wasn’t the only one. A glance at the table showed all the transformed treats shaking and quivering. The gathered police stepped backed, worried this was going to be an attack of sorts, but instead were shocked by another turn of events.
There was a cacophony of sound as glass shattered and the table snapped. Every single treat, from cookies, to gingerbread men, to pies, and cakes, all were suddenly transformed back to human. Even Jorge himself who, a second ago, was little more than a doughnut, snapped back to his bare, naked human form. Exhaustion immediately swept over him as he, like the others, collapsed onto the ground. Who would have thought that such a sudden transform would be so tiring?
Jorge gulped, his eyes struggling to stay open. He didn’t know who it was that draped a blanket over him, but he was thankful. Slowly he turned his head, watching as other people were treated first, some of them with missing limbs, others just traumatized by their experience. Jorge sighed just remained where he was. The others needed to be treated first, he could wait. Besides, he glanced back to the paramedic who was watching everyone, but still had his hand on the unconscious baker. He had an inkling what happened -- especially since he was the only man in the room that Jorge couldn’t sense any water in.

Jorge was relentless against the mutant. Matching his avatar’s movements, Jorge lashed out with devastating punch after devastating punch. He knocking teeth from the baker’s mouth and sending him scurrying back, falling into a heap across the ground. The baker whimpered, struggling to remain conscious but Jorge couldn’t allow that. The power he had was terrifying and the fact that he ate his victims (even if they were just pastries) was too terrifying to allow to continue. As much as Jorge wanted to rid someone like this off the face of the planet, he wasn’t a murderer.
Feeling his powers draining, Jorge broke down the water-avatar and quickly encircled the remains around the baker’s head. The man gagged and gasped, struggling to claw the water out of his mouth and nostrils, but there was no use. The water kept coming, kept swirling, slipping between fingers and cutting off the man’s supply of oxygen. It was only when he finally began to fall unconscious that Jorge pulled the water away, allowing him to breathe again.
Water stretched out across the kitchen floor as Jorge strolled up to the fallen baker. He tried not to think about the fact that he was still just a doughnut-shaped man. All that mattered right now was that the the crazed mutant was down. He sighed, looking closely at the other to make sure he was unconscious before he turned and headed back to the living / dining room.
As he walked in, Jorge kept his eyes peels. With as many victims as the baker had, surely he would have collected something from them. It took time, especially given his much smaller stature, but eventually Jorge found the small jar that looked filled with all kinds of cellphones. Normally it would have been impossible for any of his converted victims to find it, but Jorge was lucky enough to come across it, and possessed enough power to use water to tip it over, giving him access to the phones inside.
About five or six phones in, he finally found one that worked and dialed the precinct. This was going to take some explaining.

Jorge ground his teeth, trying to desperately think of any way out of this. He didn’t have his gun, he couldn’t call for help, he couldn’t physically outmatch the other, so what was left for him? He started to back up, his mind racing as he looked for any means to get away from this crazed man who made it a point to say that he was going to eat him. Of all the ways that Jorge imagined that his life would eventually end, this was certainly not high on that list, or frankly had even made it on the list! But what he could he do to prevent it now?
He grumbled as he continued to back away, his mind reeling. However, as the doughnut!man took a second to recollect himself, he paused and released that it was just the baker he knew was coming for him, but he could still sense some of the water surrounding him. It seemed that even though he had been turned into a living doughnut, the man still had some of his mutant powers! Thank god for not being completely genetically rewritten!
“Come on, my tasty pastry…” The baker cackled. “Let’s finish this.”
Jorge smirked his doughnutty smirk and held out his spindly arms. ”Exactly what I was thinking.”
He reached out with his sense, mouth set in a firm scowl as he connected with any nearby sources of water. Bottles, the sink, leaking pipes, Jorge latched onto all of them. It wasn’t as easy as it normally was but, still, the water bent to his will, spilling out from every source he found and pooled collectively in front of him. The baker himself was stunned by this, pausing in his advance, but Jorge wasn’t going to let him off that easily.
Jorge retracted his arms, summoning the pooled water to form a crude shape resembling something humanoid, a vague representation of the man Jorge was. The glitter of his eyes caught the baker’s, stunning him, before a few swift motions from Doughnut!Jorge caused his water doppleganger to lash out, delivering a firm punch to the man’s face. The baker grunted in pain, flipping to the side, stumbling and barely keeping onto his two feet.

Things were quickly taking a turn for the worse. However, while the chef may have dealt with plenty of terrified individuals, right now, the detective was not going to allow himself to succumb to fear. While everyone, including Mr. Koober, cringed and cried in fear, Jorge was an X-Man and such events were not totally unknown to him. The man has battled living buildings, living islands, a once thought to be extinct civilization, even Christmas Trees hellbent on destroying New York. No, the man had faced far worse and he was not going to allow himself to lose over something as small as being turned into a doughnut!
The irony was not lost upon him and, if this were a movie or a book, he may have laughed at it. But, right now, he had more pressing matters to deal with, such as a deranged mutant baker.
The towering mutant seemed intent on picking the doughnut-shaped watermancer up and tossing him onto the table with the rest of his victims. However, Jorge was not the type of man to just lie back and let such things happen. Rather, he took action and immediately went on the run. The chef grunted, his hand slamming into the ground, as Jorge took off, dodging around fallen chairs, discarded items, and trash and debris that was littered all about.
“Come back here!!” The baker roared.
Jorge didn’t. He ran, he dodged, he tried to find a hiding place so that he could collect himself but he was quickly running out of places to run. Without meaning to, he took a sharp left and found himself in the familiar setting of the kitchen, the oven still roaring to life. If the man still had sweat plans, he probably would have sweated out his body weight the second he ran inside. Unfortunately it seemed as if he had ran himself into a corner as he couldn’t see any way out. Even the cracked doorway that Mr. Koober had used was now blocked.
Shaking his head, Jorge turned to head back into the rest of the home, but stopped once he saw the massive frame in the doorway. The baker was here and he was clearly upset.
“Stupid little cop! You know, I was going to savor you later, but may as well have my snack now!”

Jorge
It was actually a little degrading being in this form. Sitting on the ground like a small child but made instead made of flour and sugar. It made him feel as if he were one of those sacks of flour that were given to middle school kids to teach them the difficulty of parenthood, only he got assigned of Johnny Forgets-a-Lot and he was left on the radiator in the basement so he partake in underage drinking. Some parent you’ll turn out to be, Johnny. Sadly, his grumbling wasn’t going to change the situation for him any and he was still a man, or rather a dough-man, in trouble.
Staring up at the looming threat that was the chef, Jorge could understand why Mr. Koober would quiver in fear at being in this situation again. Hell, Jorge would never want to be in this situation period. However, seeing as he didn’t have a choice in the matter at the moment, he knew that he was going to have to react accordingly.
As the chef laughed and cackled like a Shakespearean witch, Jorge moved onto his miniscle feet, on hand on his side and other pointing a finger at him. ”You’re under arrest, sir!” Jorge bellowed in his tiniest of teeny voices. This was so incredibly demeaning.
The chef paused, looked down in surprise for a moment a Dough!Jorge before he simply started to crack up with maddening laughter all over again. To be fair, anyone hearing that coming from a doughnut would laugh (or think themselves completely insane) but given the circumstances, the chef was simply embracing his insanity. Who could begrudge him that?
With a giggle and a shake of his head, the chef sighed as he wiped foul-scented tears from his eyes. Tilting his head, as one would do an adorable child trying to be tough, the chef looked down at Jorge, a scoff upon his lips.
“Silly man. Do you think I haven’t been threatened by police before?” he asked. “How do you think my beloved bakery was closed down?” Another cackle fell from his lips. “Oh but I showed them. Whenever they've come by, looking, checking, I've shown them all.” A pause. A wicked grin. “Just. Like. I’ll. Show. You.”
