The man was motioning for her to follow him, so she did so. Her eyes scanned the interior room of the mansion as they walked towards his office. It was big. Almost bigger on the inside. If a Blue Police Box appeared at some point she was going to run right to it. They entered his office and Tori took a seat across from him as she waited for him to drill through the information on the papers. Tori at least hoped her parents thought of everything.
It seemed like this Shinbo was a little bit of a joker, which in truth? Took a little bit of the edge and awkwardness off as Tori liked to joke too. If her friend Nex was here he'd be making all kinds of jokes right about now. Some of the things her friend said didn't always make sense, but it did make her laugh.
She of course laughed to the comment. Not really knowing a thing about New York City's barbecue. Though she smiled at the pizza comment. She would have to remember to try their pizza.
"I'll have to try the pizza sometime. So um... what all do people do around here?"
Tori was curious. If everyone here was a mutant then where did they go to use their powers? It made her wonder if there was a training facility of some kind somewhere in the mansion, but where were they going to fit that in the budget? What was the budget anyway?

Alas an answer came in the form of a young Asian man. Well, not younger than she of course. Tori had a hard time placing a number to someone's physical appearance. Some people looked older than they were, and others looked younger than they were. But he announced himself as "professor" which told her he had to be an adult of course. There were no children professors after all. At least not to her knowledge as cool as that would be.
"Yes, hello. My name is Tori. My um... my parents sent me here to be a student."
Tori took out her red backpack, which also had her Gaia outfit stored in it but he didn't need to know that just yet. She reached out for some papers that her parents filled for her in order to transfer here as she put the backpack back upon her back and handed them over to the teacher.
"My papers are right here."
Tori hoped this would go smoothly. She really didn't want to talk about the reason she was here. What happened back in her hometown. That was a sore issue for her and not something she was going to open up about on a first day.

Tori felt like she had been warped into an episode of the Fresh Prince. She got into a fight, her mom got scared, and she was sent to a new city to live in a mansion. Was she going to go on to fight aliens? Did aliens even exist? Hopefully not. Anyway, the cab she had paid for pulled up in front of the school she was being transferred to and she climbed out of the cab and waved towards the driver before he took off.
Tori's emerald green eyes scanned the mansion in question. It was large and looked pretty tight. Bigger than anywhere she has ever lived. Considering she has lived in an old red duplex her entire life this was a step up. But still, Tori was nervous. She hasn't met another mutant before and she didn't even know if she would fit in among her own kind. She was away from friends and family and didn't know what to expect. But she figured if she wanted to be a crime fighter some day she had to take risks, so she stepped up on the front porch of the mansion and ranged the doorbell.
'Easy, Tori. No need to be nervous. We're all mutants here. If anyone can relate to your plight it's the people here.' thought Tori as she waited in front of the mansion's entrance for an answer.

Mutations
Mutation description: Earth Manipulation/Geokinetics: Tori has the ability to bend the earth to her will. By either taking a piece of the earth like a piece of clay and molding it into different shapes. Some applications of her powers include being able to raise a part of the ground up to form a wall to block projectiles. To be able to dig tunnels and mend broken pieces of the ground and even sense vibrations in the earth like people walking above her when she's underground. Which is only sensitive enough to hear human footsteps and heavy objects. She can also divide a piece of the earth out of the ground and use it as a platform or glider for geokinetic flight.
Weaknesses and Limitations: Tori can only manipulate the earth that is physically around her and cannot create it out of thin air. Tori can only manipulate pure earthen materials (rocks, sand, crystal, dirt) and not artificial ones such as glass. Her earth manipulation is also weak to electricity attacks as it can electrify the very ground or solid objects she uses in her offense.
Tori can only manipulate earthen materials that are up to fifteen feet from her. She can only manipulate one object at a time up to one ton and prolong use of manipulating earth materials makes her tired and also causes her to get dirty really easily. If she goes pass her limits she will receives really bad bodily cramps to severe pain in the back and arms. During geokinetic flight she can only travel up to twenty miles per hour. Her ability to sense vibrations in the earth goes to five meters.
History Of Your Character Tori Jacobs was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas to Terry and Tina Jacobs and has one older brother named Toby Jacobs who's a professional wrestler. Growing up her parents arranged play dates with their friends' children and she met her childhood and long time friends Shinta and June Greenaway, Lily Mayweather, Nex Aaron, and Mary Thompson. The six did everything together and remain friends to this day.
As Tori grew older she developed an interest in things like video games from playing with her older brother and she took an interest in swimming. Even joining the all girls swimming team at her school and becoming really competitive. While she was dealing with her teenage years she learned that she was in fact bisexual and started dating her first love Danielle Grey before they broke up on good terms.
On her sixteenth birthday Tori would get a 2002 Ford Mustang for a birthday present from her parents and then later drive out to the Wyandotte Plaza where she suddenly came into her powers. She accidentally caused a vicious earthquake in the area that killed ten and injured countless others. She escaped the area and immediately told her parents of what happened. After some testing they found out that she was in fact a mutant and Tori was scared for what they meant for her and her life.
Later Tori told her inner circle of friends and they all accepted her and told her it was going to be okay. Out of guilt for the people lost in the earthquake Tori decided she was going to help people so she took up the mantle of “Gaia” and started fighting crime in the Kansas City area. Her parents were against this and decided to have her sent to New York City to the private school for mutants to learn how to control their powers. Tori reluctantly agreed leaving her friends and family behind to go join the school.

After several hours spent on the plane from Kansas City to New York City the plane finally made a landing in the NYC airport and Tori grabbed her luggage and headed for the exit of the plane. She descended the steps of the plane and entered the airport to have her bags checked through security before going through the airport and finally towards the city's streets of New York City.
Tori had never been to New York City before. To be frank, she's never been anywhere outside of Kansas except for Kansas City, Missouri and Branson, Missouri. So this was a first for her. The buildings in New York was so tall and huge Tori felt like she was in a concrete forest where everything was just bigger than it was in Kansas City. Which led to her next cliché thought.
'Looks like you're not in Kansas anymore.'
Tori pulled out a map of the area that was given to her by her parents and a red X was marked by where the mansion was located. She folded up the map and used the money that her parents gave her she tracked down a cab and entered it. Paying up front and telling the crab driver where to go as they started up the cab and went down the streets. Tori didn't know who she would find at this mansion or what would happen next. All she knew is she needed to make sure another incident didn't happen.
