Build: Aras is light on muscle and skinny in frame, by most estimations many would assume he would be frail.

Aras' stamina, however, is much stronger than most would give him credit for. Long walks from town to town and state to state built an overwhelming cardio system that can allow him to walk and even run great distances before wearing out.
Other features: None
Everyday clothing style: Due to his history in the monastery, he has continued the tradition of a monks dark robe and hood with a cross necklace. Underneath the robe and hood he wears mostly black-and-white clothing that any priest might wear under his garb.
Uniform: None as of yet
CharacterPersonality: Aras is a product of his environment, gaining the traits of caring for others the way that the monks took care of him in his most desperate moment. The teachings by the men in both religion and social respect for human life resulted in a moral compass not many can break from the young man. Many years of meditation and prayer have lead to a calm and collected man, his outlook on the world developing from a genuine hope for humanity and it’s people. Even with the downfall of social order among the race, Aras holds out the hope that God’s greatest creation can fight off the temptation of submission to an evil force.
Although Aras is devout in his religion, his years of listening to more progressive members of the church as well as humility in the face of God’s judgement made him realize the precious nature of keeping it to himself. In the times of tyrants of seemingly supernatural origin, what the Bible teaches for humans have become dwarfed in comparison. James 4:12 is a key example of his philosophy of his relationship with others; There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you--who are you to judge your neighbor? What happens to people when they raise for their judgement before God is of their own concern. So long as they are as welling to help him as he is to help them, Aras is fine with people of all shades of piety and sin.
Morality: God. The only morality he has is to follow the teachings of the Lord. Some qualify it as good, others bad. Martyr considers it "Truth." If asked to simplify, he'd simply say that he were neutral for those that do not see the truth themselves. In Aras' eyes, walking in the path of Jesus would align him with good, however he is aware of the unfortunate truth that many would rightfully fail to see those words as synonyms. In his heart, the man wants to do good and help those he can and be a voice, an ear, and a shoulder to any who should need it.
Hobbies/ Interests:Leading in religious services, being a help in time of need for either physical or mental healing. Aras enjoys reading histories and teachings, eager to learn new things unavailable to him in his time in the monastery. He also enjoys games of intellect such as chess and go.
Job or part time job and description: None
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: Aras hates...
hates... the modern state of most churches of Jesus Christ. Aras has had to learn the hard way that the teachings within other churches preach a blasphemous hatred and bigotry toward fellow kin.
Special talents: None.
MutationsMutation description: Micro-organism Manipulation. This takes two forms:
1. Absorption of illness. A scientist would say that this is manipulation at a bacterial and viral level. With contact of a sick person, through chanting, Martyr can "absorb" the bacteria and viruses that sickens the individual into himself. Can intake parasites, bacterial, viral and other infections from one host into himself through skin to skin contact, as far as Aras knows. His heightened immune system for doing this for so long helps him recover slightly faster than normal, yet he is still sickened from the effects of the disease for some time. Can intake multiple diseases at once from as many people as possible. This works at a bacterial level and so any sort of cold or other bacteria which harms humans can be absorbed into Martyr. The effects of the bacteria or virus not being present happen within a half an hour and allows for a quick return to a healthy state within an hour from original contact. The procedure also takes a short amount of time so as to having a sick person battle ready in no more than two hours.
2. A scientist may believe that this mutation involves a control of someone's own bacteria within the skin to produce a burning chemical which than creates a strong burning sensation in the area where Martyr touches the victim. This burning sensation can continue to burn on even after contact between Martyr and the victim cease, though the pain itself dies down over time, remaining fully intense only when there is contact between Martyr and the victim. The bacteria remain "harmful" for at most half an hour and can still have the after burn effects for some time after. Also, the burning is a sensation under the skin, so while the victim may feel as if they are burning, no physical traits of a burn are shown or are present. Simply the victim FEELS the burning. The burning continues for a short while, half an hour at most, even after contact between the person and Martyr is lost. While the sensation cannot spread to other parts of the body, it can still linger for a while and can die down only after avoiding contact with Martyr.
Weaknesses and Limitations:1. This affects Martyr by making him sick instead of the one he is curing.. The effects of the illness also seem to last longer within his body by double the amount of time. So if a cold that would usually keep someone sick for one day were to be absorbed, Martyr would be sick for two days instead. This may be attributed to the weakened immune system of Martyr, while Martyr himself insists it's his sacrifice of helping others and becomes his own problem instead of the other persons.
2. What cannot be explained by a scientist can only be explained by Martyr. When Martyr uses this ability, Martyr becomes weaker and weaker over time. He personally believes that if he were to use this power long enough, it could kill him yet destroy all the sin within the person forever. This is what has given him the nickname "Martyr" as in order to purge the sin of one man or woman completely he must sacrifice himself completely. Also, the effects take longer to begin, making it hard to keep contact with someone until the effects begin, all the while continuing to chant.
History Of Your CharacterAras was born to a family of 3. Mother, Aeron. Father, Lukas. Older sister, Bridget. Aras grew up in a nice Catholic household. Lukas ran a lone law firm while his mother stayed home and took care of Bridget and Aras. Everything seemed to be going fine. In July of 2009, however, Aras's little perfect life would be ruined. Lukas had taken on a murder case with one of the local gangs in the area. Lukas failed and the gangster was found guilty. In August of 1995, when little Aras was 3 and his older sister Bridget was 7, other members came to get their revenge on Lukas and his family for allowing one of their men to be put in prison. While Aras was too little to remember anything, he has heard tales that Bridget was able to escape with him, while the fate of their parents remain a mystery to this day, most signs pointing to their murder.
Bridget, carrying her little brother for some time had to find a place to hide him. While she would run off to their grandparents house in the state of West Virginia, she was too nervous of carrying Aras all that way. Along the way, she found a local monastery belonging to the monks of St. Virgil. She approached them and begged for them to take her brother in for safe keeping.. Understanding the situation they were in, the monks accepted the boy into their house of worship and promised to raise him to the age of 14. Bridget left vowing to find Aras one day, thanking the monks gracefully for their kind service.
The monks raised Aras harsh but fair, bringing him up in the ways of the church. No longer could he simply sit and play with his sister while attending church to pay his respects to God. He was now part of God's home now. He was taught the chants of the monks and was taught Latin in order to understand the meaning of them all. Aras, while not becoming a monk himself, enjoyed the lessons he learned at the monastery and thank God everyday for being able to be raised by such pure individuals.
It was also at the monastery where he learned of his healing mutation. One monk was sick with a cold and had gotten a sore throat, disallowing him to lead in prayer. Aras, at the age of 6, simply touched him and began to pray that the monk would be healed. Within an hour, the monk came out claiming that his sore throat had been cured, though now Aras was in his chamber with the same illness. The monks figured that he was a mutant and accepted him as one. They simply said that his power was to be used in favor of God and God alone. Aras accepted this as his mission from God to heal others around him and to accept his responsibility as a person to take on the suffering of others.
His second mutation was actually found out on himself. While sitting and praying, his hand rested on his arm. After a few seconds, the praying was replaced with screams of pain from the sudden burning. Seeing nothing around him to burn him and seeing no effect of a burn on him, he went to the monks for advice. Confused and nervous, one of the monk let Aras touch his arm and do what he was doing before. as expected, the monk felt the same burning sensation and thus revealed Aras' second power. The monks again accepted this yet, as they did last time, told him that his gifts were gifts from God and any misuse of them would surely make Him unpleased and would send Aras to the lowest level of Hell. Aras understood this and accepted his gifts, thanking God everyday for the gifts that were bestowed upon him.
On his 14th birthday, the monks presented him with gifts and told him about the deal with his sister 11 years ago. Aras did not argue and simply thanked them monks for their hospitality. With no idea where to go, Aras simply took to finding a new home. This lead him to New York on his quest. This is where he heard of others like himself who possessed supernatural gifts that lived there as well. Aras believed that his goal was to go there and provide the only true voice of God to those that resided there.

Sample RP:Aras walked among the busy streets of New York garnered in his robe of black and his cross of gold. The hood of the robe was up as he walked along the streets, gathering the looks of passerbyers and drivers alike. No one spoke to him. No one insulted him. People were just confused by his attire in such a city like New York. Aras paid no attention to them, for his mind was busy contemplating other things. Such as finding a place to spend the night, if not the nights that followed as well. He had been given directions to various apartment buildings, yet the one that took his interest was a small little building with a tennent that was a small Hispanic lady. She was there most of the time and so it was of high possibility that Aras would be able to speak with her. Through the conversations with those willing to help were brief, some had said that rumor was she was also down with a cold. Interesting. First day here and Aras already had someone he could help. With not much money, he could only stay for so long before preaching for money again.
With two knocks of the door, the small Hispanic lady showed up. Sort of chubby. Tissue box in hand. Soap operas on in the backround. First impressions were good sometimes. Aras cleared his throat before speaking. "Hello, ma'am. I here there is room here in this building. If so, may I ask to be able to spend some time here while I get settled in New York?"
"God dammit, kid, couldn't you have picked a better time than now to bother me? Can't you see that I'm sick? I've been stuck in this damn room all this time and you came here to-" Aras stuck his hand up to halt her. He did not want her to finish. it was bad enough that his nice little first impression shattered by her using the Lord's name in vain. He would not want to hear her rant. This would be tricky, yet he figured he could help. "Hey! Why are you..."
"Ma'am. If I may, can I see your hand for a short amount of time?" The lady raised and eyebrow as she offered her hand. Her face gave one of distrust, yet Aras sought nothing of value to steal. He simply placed both palms of his hands on either side of the ladies hand and closed his eyes. Suddenly his voice grew soft and melodic as he began to chant in Latin to his Lord Almighty.
"Te aeternum Patrem omnis terra veneratur.
Tibi omnes Angeli; tibi Caeli et universae Potestates;
Tibi Cherubim et Seraphim incessabili voce proclamant:
Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus, Dominus Deus Sabaoth.
(Everlasting Father, all the earth doth worship Thee.
To Thee all the Angels, the Heavens and all the Powers,
all the Cherubim and Seraphim, unceasingly proclaim:
Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts!)"
Aras simply let his hand down and crossed his arms. The lady, though, was confused more than anything. "What the Hell did you do to me, boy? Put on some curse or something!?!? I swear to God if I start freaking out or growing three heads I'll... I'll...!" She didn't say anything as a sneeze took her over. Aras smiled warmly and offered his hand into the doorway.
"Ma'am, you are sick. Please calm down. All I want is to come in and discuss a plan to live in a room of yours. I do not come to harm. Let me just say I've... blessed you in the name of the Lord." The lady, again reluctantly, nodded her head and let him in. For a half hour, they talked. It was then that Aras felt his nose begin to run and himself begin to get weaker. He looked up to the woman and listened to her talk, noticing her voice becoming clearer and herself becoming livelier. He continued to nod his head while he signed the contract. When he left to go up to his room to put his things, he turned to hear the woman notice herself feel better.
"Wow! I feel great! I don't know what happened kid but... seems you've brought me some good luck." Aras simply nodded his head and thanked the woman before heading upstairs. He felt his nose run more and more as he reached his room and put his things down. While unpacking he got a pack of tissues to wipe his nose and blow it. When he was down he set himself down on the bed and blew his nose. He smiled. One day in this city and already he had helped someone out. God surely was enjoying his work.
