He has been known to be considered the life of the party, though he considers himself more of an extroverted introvert, someone who is known of by many folks but who does not consider too many to be friends. He is social, but not overtly so, and not very trusting. KC is often perplexed by why people are drawn to him, when he is not drawn to people.
Part of it is his ability to make people laugh, and laugh at everything including himself. His humor can sometimes run dark, and he is incredibly fluent in sarcasm. Despite is overall preference to have a few close friends over people popular, he is very caring about people and generally prefers to see people laugh and happy. He is slow to anger, but even slower to forgive.
KC loves things, and is not afraid to admit it. He is materialistic, but things like high end labels mean nothing to him. His tastes run the gambit, from crystals and gems, to books, and anything that catches his eyes; including an every growing collection of Care Bear toys. His apartment is full of things found at various shops online, especially handmade and custom items. One of his favorite things to say is that he won’t argue with anyone who’s rent is less than his Amazon and Etsy bills.
KC has a strong lean toward the occult, studying astrology and numerology and considering himself Wiccan. He really doesn’t remember how he got on this path, hey just remembers his mother giving him a book of mythologies as a child and his fascination grew from there. He is very open and honest with his beliefs, and holds very strong to those beliefs, often referring to himself as a devotional witch or playfully the Supreme.

Job or part time job and description: KC works at a local occult shop “In Goddess We Trust” and is also a court advocate in the juvenile court system.

Special talents: KC is an excellent writer, and usually writes papers hours before they are due and still receiving excellent marks. KC also Eidetic Memory, which is in direct relation to his mutation.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: Chaotic Good – KC is basically good and believes in pursuing the greatest good for himself and the world, but also believes that sometimes attaining that goal can cause harm to others. He is also not above revenge, and believes strongly in the necessity of death.
Feelings toward Humans: KC has no issues with humans who have no issue with him. Because he has no visible mutation he can pass as human, but does not hide being a mutant. Those humans who have issue with him will be met with the same energy.
Feelings toward Adapteds: KC does not know much about Adapteds, and does not really understand them. More than anything he tries to stay away from them.
Feelings toward Mystics: Fascination. KC has yet to meet a Mystic but would really like to, and ask them an incredibly long list of questions.
Mutations
Mutation description: Photographic Psychic Replication
KC has the ability to replicate things that he sees in a photograph. These replications are composed completely from psychic energy. KC's ability can be seen as a remote form of psychometry through photography.
Strengths:
Being able to replicate almost anything from a photograph gives KC a very versatile power.
Replication can be used offensively, defensively, and covertly depending on what is being replicated.
Replications can be anything that can be almost photographed.
Replications can have real world effects and have physical ramifications, such as person being hit with a replicated hammer will feel it and injuries suffered from it.
Other than replications looking slightly too "bright" or "perfect" as if they are being looked at through a beautification filter, replications look real
Replicated fire, does not burn as real fire would, however it can have the same burning sensation if used against psychics or those who can perceive psychic energy.
Replications will interact with the world exactly as KC believes that they should, based on his own experience or knowledge of the object. For instance, a replicated firearm will shoot "bullets" of psychic energy, however KC cannot control the trajectory of these projectiles outside of how he understands a firearm to work. Objects will weigh exactly as KC believes/perceives them to weight and feel.
Because replicated objects are created from psychic energy, they are not susceptible to normal laws of nature, for instance a wooden bat would not be harmed by fire. However, if this fire is generated through psychic energy, KC would feel the intended affects as attack.
KC replicates objects within 5 feet of his person, but always in his direct line of sight.
Weaknesses and Limitations:
Replications are not concepts, they are the exact replication of the object photographed.
The more complex or larger a replication is, the harder and more psychic energy it takes to replicate. Replicating a dollar bill exerts little energy, attempting to replicate a complex machine like a laptop would exert the same amount of energy of running a 5k. KC once attempted to replicate a car from a photo and passed out with no success.
While replications look real, they do not operate in the same way that the photographed object would, specifically electrical objects would not run on electricity or connect to Wi-Fi. Replications will act and operate in exactly the way that KC believes them to act, based on his own experience with the objects.
Replications are not permanent and the more complex and larger they are, the shorter amount of time they will last. A replicated dollar bill will last a day, a replicated working laptop would last an hour. Conversely a small but complex machine, such as a micro-camera, smart phone, or pacemaker would also last less time than a dollar but slightly more than a laptop, maybe 2 to 4 hours depending on the complexity.
KC can create replications of living material/animals/people, however these replications will be static and non-vocal, and the larger and more complex it is the quicker it will dissipate. A flower might last a half an hour, a mouse ten minutes, a small child mere seconds. KC has never been able to replicate large mammals or a teenage human.
Replications can only be created from actual photographs and not from drawings or A.I. created images no matter how life-like.
KC can only replicate objects, not effects such as weather patters, the one exception is fire. However KCs replicated fire is more illusionary, and does not burn as normal fire, thought it can have similar "burning" sensations on psychics.
Psychics will perceive replications not as real objects but as their true nature, psychic constructs which will look as the object but made completely from a dark-blue and silver substance, the manifestation of KC's psychic energy when viewed by those who can perceive such energy.
Replicating an object does not give KC proficiency with it, so KC would be as inept with a replicated sword as he would with a real one without proper training.
KC must be able to clearly see what the object is in the photograph in order to replicate it, however the object will be replicated as KC believes/perceives it to be. For instance a replicated basketball from a photo will be to the size of an actual basketball, not the size in the photo.
Overly distorted images or heavily photoshopped images are more difficult to replicate, especially objects for which KC has no personal experience or reference for. For instance, in image of a microchip that is much enhanced would be difficult for KC to replicate because he has no personal knowledge of the object.
KC can create replications outside of his line of sight, meaning he cannot replicate object behind walls or around corners, behind his back if he is not able to see.
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities: KC enjoys walking and keeps relatively fit.
Fighting Style: KC has never been in a real fight for his life, and a couple of petty fights as a child so he has never really been tested.
Fighting Style Pros/Cons: He has no formal training and has never been tested to know if he could fight for his life.
History Of Your Character
KC is the youngest child of African American woman who was adopted by a Caribbean family. Amara, his mother, married a military man and the two had three children, Darius the oldest, Clarice the middle child and KC. KC, the unexpected “change baby” is named after his father Kendrick. His middle name Greek mythology, a love of his mother. Comus was that son of Dionysus and the god of revelry and night time dalliances. KC’s mother said that is exactly how he was conceived. Somehow over time young Kendrick was given the nickname KC, that stuck so hard that the young boy believed that to be his name, and has often contemplated legally changing his name.
Being the youngest and a child born with his parents were nearing their 50s and both his elder siblings were in their teens, KC was the much doted on a spoiled child. This led to him the young man becoming materialistic, liking to receive gifts, but also using gift giving as his own love language. Determined to make sure his child did
not become a brat, the elder Kendrick instilled a strong sense of work ethic in his youngest, that developed into a type A personality in KC, causing him to be incredibly hard on himself and always in competition internally and externally.
It was actually KC’s materialism that led to the manifestation of his powers. One day, after his parents refused to buy him a toy, a Yoda Funko Pop. Mad and upset, KC took one of the shopping booklet from the store, determine to convince his parents to get him for it later, knowing he could break them down. Riding him he focused on the booklet, desperately wanting the figure for his collection. Without warned he got a blinding headache, and when he came too, the figure was in his lap. Scared and afraid KC kid the figure in his jacket, sure his parents would think he had stolen it. Nervous the entire ride home KC was surprised when he rushed into his room, to discover the replication was no where to be found. Thinking initially he had simply fallen asleep in the car and dreamed it, he went to sleep, but was not able to stay asleep. He pulled the store magazine out and tried again, concentrating on the picture, and again the headache came, and again the figure appeared on the floor. Excited, KC tried to conjure something else, with similar success. Thinking himself some all powerful magician KC replicated a few more figures, until he passed out from the migraine he gave himself. His mother found him that morning passed out on the floor. He was taken to the hospital, and the doctors said he was simply dehydrated. KC never told his parents what happened, because they never said anything about finding any Funkos in his room.
Soon after the incident, KC’s father moved the family to New York City, because of a promotion at his job. It was here that KC met his first mutant, and came to understand he was not a magician, but instead had manifested a mutant ability. This is also where KC first came face to face with the bigotry against mutant-kind, and fearing what might happen to him, he informed his parents. Luckily for him, KC’s parents reacted with fear of what the outside world might say about their child, not fear or anger toward their child. KCs mother told him whatever he choice, going public or not, they would support but they asked him to wait until he was an adult at least before making that decision. KC agreed, but began to experiment with his powers, with and without the supervision his parents. It was through this experimentation KC realized his ability replicated objects that he had seen through photographs, in reality he is replicated the psychic signature of the object, a form of psychometry.
Time progressed and KC developed his ability as much as he could. During his teenage years his mother, noticing his love of reading, gave him a book on Greek mythology, a favorite past-time of her youth. Never should we know that book would lead KC down a rabbit hole of religion and spirituality that would drop him off at the doorstep of the occult and Traditional Wicca. Living in NYC there was no lack of contacts in the area. Contacts that led to his first, and beloved job, as a member of the staff at In Goddess We Trust. Lady Star, owner of the shop, noticed KC’s penchant for helping others and suggested he go to school for social work. Taking her advise KC attended NYU taking up social work with a concentration in legal studies. This led to part-time work as a, advocate for the juvenile courts, where KC is known to seek out mutant juvenile clients.

It was another day in the shop, rather slow to be honest. KC was placing the newest shipment of Tarot and Oracle decks on the shelf, keeping an eye on the three young girls currently huddled around the crystal displays. Part of KC was irritated with them, because they were currently listening to a very loud and very wrong Tik Tok on the properties of crystals that would make a boy fall in love. It wasn’t so much their presence as it was the fact that they were on their phones. Cell phone use was prohibited at In Goddess We Trust, because the shop was also a sacred space. The smell of rose and sage incense wafted through the air as KC turned his head to the alcove in the wall where a repurposed state of St. Mary sat, with offerings of flowers and coins at her feet, a pieces of paper, petitions from patrons of the store, creating a colorful nest at in her hands. A bench sat in front of the statue, people of all faiths came here to pray to the Goddess, simply referred to as The Mother. But there were no other patrons in the store at the moment, so KC allowed the girls their giggles and fool mission.
As he continued to unpack and stock the shelves, a new deck caught his eye. The Gilded Royal Taror, a deck KC had never seen before but caught his eye with its vibrant colors, modernist art nouveau style, and diverse characters. This was the blessing and bane of working at an occult shop for the young mutant, more often than not half of his paycheck was spent at the store, and that included accounting for his discount.
“Excuse me” a high and somewhat nasal voice cut through his contemplation.
KC took a deep breath to calm his nerves, he hated being surprised, and turned to the waiting high schoolers expectant faces. “What’s tea?” he asked, smiling.
“So um, do you know about all this stuff” one of the girls, one with an exceptional amount of freckles on her face said as she waved a hand to indicate everything in the store.
KC chuckled, a signed of either amusement or a warning, depending on how you interpreted it.
“I know a little something I guess” he said sarcastically.
“So, if you want to make a guy fall in love with you, like in that one movie, what would you use?” another asked
“The Craft” KC asked, a look of disdain creeping across his face. It wasn’t that he disliked the movie, he actually watched the original monthly. It was that he was quite over pretenders coming to the faith because of Hollywood magic.
“Yeah, that’s the one!”
“You do realize that even in those movies there is a bit of truth right?” he asked them.
“What is that suppose to mean?” the first girl responded, clearly not used to being questioned.
“Remember what happened to Nancy at the end. You asked what would I use? If this body and my personality can’t get it, then it aint for me boo. Anything else aint love, and if you gotta do all that to get him, Goddess knows what you’ll have to do to keep him.”
All three girls just rolled there eyes, and then the leader thrust a basked full of stones and packets of herbs into this chest. “Whatever dude, the customer is always right so check us out.”
The look that crossed the Wiccan mutant’s face as he looked down at the basket then up at the girls, yet somehow still looking down at them said everything he wanted it to say, but still he drove the point home with his next words.
“The customer is always right, in matters of their tastes, you really have to learn the entire quote if you’re going to use it correct. Now, the right you can have is the right to get all the way out of my face, back out onto the street and right into traffic if you so see fit.”
“Excuse me!?” the girl said almost in chorus
“No” KC said, taking the basket of items from the surprised leader and turning his back on them, placing the items at the feet of the Mother statute. “Definitely gonna have to cleanse all this before I put it back on the shelf”
“I don’t think…”
“I don’t think you think either” KC quickly cut one of the girls off, whipping around glaring at the trio.
Thrusting his hand out, he concentrated on a photo hanging by the door. Lady Star considered herself an amateur photographer, and the picture on the wall had won some local contest. It was nothing special in KC’s opinion, and he was a bit of a photography connoisseur, but it would suffice, as a picture of some Independence Day Sparklers. As always there was a slight pull behind his eyes, before the sparklers manifested in the air around the girl, fizzing out almost as quickly as they appeared.
Just like magic, that was all it took to send the girls sprawling through the door. People never thought KC was a mutant, not at first when he used his ability to deal with rowdy or rude customers. Of course not, they were middle of an occult shop. Their minds first went to some all powerful witch ready to rain down curses like something off Charmed.
KC laughed as he turned back to the basked and the Mother, the play of the candles and incense smoke seeming to change the serene look on the statue’s face to one of judgment. KC sighed and wafted the smoke, dispelling the optical illusion, before taking the basket into the back to be cleansed.
“Its not my fault!” he shouted as he walked away, whether at the statute or if he was trying to convince himself, he wasn’t really sure.
