The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Julia had applied for and gained a job in Margaretville NY. The job was being a worker at a well known catering business. Julia knew that they always assumed that she was staying at the job for years, but probably didn’t know that she her plan was to leave within two weeks. In fact it was probably less than two weeks since two weeks was a high amount of time for Julia to stay somewhere. Julia felt a twinge of guilt for portraying herself one way, but there was no guilt in the fact that they assumed that she was staying at a low end, low paying job for the rest of her life. Julia needed the job for the quick buck without the hassle of explaining her lack of a social security card. This was the job.
However, it all backfired for Julia because she was told that her, along with a few other new hires, had to be fitted for uniforms. So she was on her way to the catering businesses’ uniform fitting. It was not something that Julia liked nor felt at all comfortable doing. For one, human contact, and secondly, possibility of her mutation being discovered. She had a backup plan of course. It wasn’t quitting the job since she so desperately needed the money to get to her next destination without starving. Her plan was to give the individual who would be taking the measurements and doing the fitting her body measurements and calling it a day. She had them written on a piece of paper as she walked into the small little shop that she was told was the catering business’ dressroom before their events. She was late, and the individual who had been timed to be fitted before Julia had probably been long gone given the fact that Julia was an entire ten minutes late to her thirty minute time slot.

Julia opened her eyes to the voice of the driver of the bus that she had been riding on. Instantly she jostled back a tad when she felt and saw the presence of the same person’s hand on her shoulder. Not that she could feel much other than the pressure, but nonetheless it was enough to know that it was there. She as a result shouted more explicatives at the man than one would hear from a drunken man picking a fight with another drunken man. She hates it when people touch her, stemming from her past history as well as her self developed coping mechanism of hating human interaction, and the idea of individuals figuring out that she was a mutant.
Julia stood up in haste, paying the bus driver that had a look on his face that Julia felt had a veil of fear written all over it. She then went over to the bus steps to see what town had she came across. Her facial expression turned into a shocked one when she saw the hustle and bustle of people on the sidewalk that made her figure out that this wasn’t a small town. She changed her expression to salvage some dignity as she tensley walked off the bus and onto the sidewalk. She looked around to see a bunch of ‘ welcome to NYC’ signs and similar pamphlets alike all over the place.
Furthermore people were just as all over the place as was Julia’s mind. That is, her mind became a bit scrambled with thoughts of apprehension, of anger, and of false pride. Her face turned from a neutral facial expression to a full out scowl. ‘Of course she would end up in one of the biggest cities of the world’ she thought to herself as she put her wallet inside her jacket pocket, zipping it up adamantly. Within seconds of walking, Julia’s shoulder was bumped into by someone despite her own carefulness to not deal with human contact. She gave a sentence in response that was filled with less child suitable words than one would find in an entire rated r movie. This had gained her quite a few glares which she would exchange back as she continued to walk.
She had been so caught up with her war on NYC, that she hadn’t noticed a five year old whom was trying to keep up with his mother as he ran into her. Julia felt the pressure of being ran into instantly, freezing for a split second as she somehow felt attacked before going to look at who was her attacker. Luckily for the little boy, Julia knew how to kind of censor herself as she said “what the f****n h*ll is wrong with you?!” It was way more toned down than what she would have said had this kid been a short adult instead, but obviously still quite rude. Julia had a some awareness of how rude she truly was, but she prefers to come off as rude and mean even rather than showing her emotions that she considers weak.
I have a new request/ idea, I would like to do some investigating into Julia’s past and so I would like a plot/ threads that can take place anywhere from when she was 15( 2013) to present day ( really I have quite a few ‘present’ plots( within a year) at the moment, and while I am not picky with more ( shoot me an idea if you have one, I will still gladly accept ) present day plots would make it harder to fit in, timeline wise and so something that takes place in the past would be cooler . it still gives about 4 and a half other years that will remain untouched and open for rping out plots( and even developing your own character’s past too! ) I am up for simplistic and complex plots! Just let me know that you are interested too
Furthermore these plots can’t touch NYC at all, given a current thread that’s her ‘first time in nyc’ taking place and I would prefer it to be out of NY state and maybe in Canada/ or other northern states of the US.
Julia had been staring at the glimmering great lake since noon. She didn't want to leave it even though she had decided that she had to go and leave the town that no more than a week ago she had came across. Had to. That had always been a dreaded phrase for Julia since it had always been a part of her life for not so pleasant reasons. So she had stared at the lake for the past few hours contemplating why is it that she always had to do something, had to hide something, had to work, had to go. That was her problem her current problem. She had to leave, or rather she felt like she had to. However this lake had been like an ally for her the week that she had been living in the adjacent town. It had been an ally that had helped her to have nostalgia that had allowed her to be at peace for once.
She knew that if she had swam in it, or rather had tried to swim in it, she would not have felt the same way, but none the less the illusion of her past being her present had not been broken. The huge lake that she had been staring at now had not shown her or forced her to see that her life had been changed. She had been allowed to stare at its depths, look at it as if it had been the lake near the town that she had been raised in. She honestly had been able to fool her mind to an extent into believing that she was back with her dad and brother looking at the lake. That she had been able to feel the heat from the sun radiating onto her sun deprived winter skin. That she had been sitting next to her family knowing that they were family and that one of them hadn't been dead for years, the other had fled her hometown and the last had been the cause of the former two.
She was able to maintain this illusion for she had miraculously persuaded herself that she didn't need to swim. Therefore she had not fallen into the trap of struggling to swim, or of seeing her own feet in the water, and therefore she had been able to sit there in peace. The only difference between now and the time that she had been pretending to be in, was that she actually had been sitting on a log in a long sleeved shirt, while wearing a pair of jeans and boots on a hot spring day. She was not wearing a bathing suit nor appropriate clothing like she would have been wearing in the preferred time that she had been so desperately trying to act as if existed currently. It hadn't mattered however, for the heat had no effect on how she felt for she had no ability to feel it. So she had been able to pretend that nothing had changed, even though she knew that it had in fact changed, and it had been more than just a couple years ago by now. It ultimately had been the cause of her current predicament of feeling a need to leave but wanting to stay now.
She kept her arms wrapped closely around her legs as she sat on the dried up tree that was on the lake shore, looking out.

Sleepwear: She sleeps in her bra and in Jeans so she doesn’t have to buy too much. Furthermore she enjoys having her back be free from a shirt over the night because it feels constraining during the day but free at night.
Miscellaneous clothing: She has a knife that she carries around.
Character
Personality: She is someone who acts as if she does not give an f*** at all. She is tries to act reclusive and but loud and appears to be aggressive if incited. Really she just wants to distance herself from Interactions and trusting people.
Hobbies/ Interests: She cuts herself a bit, pretty sure that’s not an interest or hobby, but it’s something. She does however feed stray cats if she sees them and has enough money/ food to spare.
Job or part time job and description:: She does jobs here and there that are more under the table than anything else.
Fears/ phobias/ concerns: She doesn’t like human contact and gets aggressive when it happens. Also, she hides her physical mutations adamantly, even around other mutants. It’s an old habit at this point. She doesn’t want anyone to see her for who she really is, and that she is truly afraid of the world in which she lives in.
Special talents: She knows how to hunt and fish, and is pretty good at geography/ sense of direction.
Morality
Good/ bad/ neutral/ other: She is more of a self preservationist with some more peaceful qualities deep within. She will act completely hostile towards most individuals to the point where one would think she would like to kill them, but ultimately she prefers to avoid killing unless her life was truly at stake.
For instance she will act as though she has no problem hurting or killing someone, but in actuality she never has killed someone and has absolutely no desire to kill someone, or to hurt them, unless provoked. She acts provoked more often than not, escalating matters towards verbal altercations and showcasing her powers before most people would see it warranted, but her actions against individuals tend not to escalate towards physical harm.
She is willing to lie and willing to defend herself if needed to protect herself, but tends to find ways out of it with intimidation using her words, or more so her powers. She is a tad deceitful in the fact she masks her true self with a bad*ss hotheaded image that really makes no logical sense for a real individual to have.
Mutations
Mutation description: pyrogenesis, physical formations of lava on her back, feet and parts of her shins that makes her durable to heat/fire as well as some smaller injuries in general. Minimal sense of touch/feeling.( She can feel pressure but that’s about it, this is to prevent her from feeling the heat of her own powers).
Strengths: She can’t feel as much pain as most people and so she can push herself. She can create fire, and knows how to aim(depending on circumstances) it at individuals up to twenty feet( the fire becoming less compact/ powerful as it gets to the top limit of twenty feet). It with both hands( cut in half for one) comes out in a cone shape, the closest attack(without it being smothered because of proximity) has it spreading out at a bit under two yard sticks before tunneling like a cone all the way down to 4-5 inches worth of surface area being attacked at the farthest twenty feet distance.
Furthermore she can project fire in a ‘tossing’ it sort of way but with decreased accuracy. ( about 5 inch in length and five inches in width) and inability to throw it anywhere past ten feet.( Ten feet is really inaccurate, missing more likely than not).
She can make a lot of fire in a short period of time. The fire then can persist like any normal human( or naturally) created fire given the right amount of fuel/ and oxygen.
The parts of her body covered by lava can’t be hurt by heat/ fire( within reason of course). Furthermore they provide some blunt force protection, and minimal sharp force protection. After all, it’s thicker and more durable than skin but still contains some blood vessels and that are susceptible to stabbings, but it’s an extra layer of protection that most individuals don’t have.
Furthermore there are no lava markers on her hands, but they are still fairly resistant to the fire that her hands produce. This is as long as the fire is going away from her hands and is not being trapped to bounce back to her hands as a result of how her powers heat up her hands but are more like levitating over them as she pumps more ‘chemicals’ to fuel/ and create the fire.
Coldness is her strength, given that she overheats, coldness can cool her down enough to delay exhaustion from the heat.
Weaknesses and Limitations:
Hot days increases her inner body temperature quicker, causing her body to heat up sooner and therefore experience the effects from her powers sooner.
The parts of her body that don’t have the lava markers can actually be severely harmed by the fire just like any normal person.
The parts of her body with lava markers are a heavy type similar to basalt. This makes her on average heavier, and therefore unable to run as fast nor as for long. Furthermore the added weight makes swimming much more difficult and extraneous than it is for most individuals.
She cannot manipulate fire once it ‘leaves’ her palms and so if the fire is out of control, well then she is caught up fighting the fire that she made and can just as easily be killed by her own fire as anyone else.
Although not feeling pain can be an advantage, it’s also a weakness in that she can get severely hurt without ever realizing it, perhaps over exerting herself at times too.
Her range of ‘launching’ fire is twenty feet tops, and really it’s not making significant damage at twenty feet, but enough to hurt someone. Her aiming depends on how much ‘time’ given to aim and how fast everything around her is going. She is not so good at aiming if someone is fast / not running straight at her.
She can only produce fire for fifteen minutes straight (without taking a break) before starting to heat up in a similar fashion to a fever. If it persists past 5 minutes, her body temperature will continue to rise. She may not notice at first, but symptoms of minor heat stroke begin to show at 7 minutes (high core temperature, confusion, irritability, nausea, flushed skin, rapid breathing, racing heart). At 15 minutes, full heat stroke sets in (slurred speech, delirium, seizures, vomiting) which makes it impossible for Julia to concentrate enough to continue to use her powers.
Furthermore she can only use her powers like that once every hour( with correct conditions) and if the conditions are not aligned ( adequate food, water, not too stressed, not too injured, not too hot or too cold) then it can take a whole day or even more if the above conditions are not met. Therefore homeostasis is necessary to use her powers to their fullest potential.
The fact that she has physical mutations is a weakness as well since she must ‘hide’ parts of her body to feel safe, to not be hunted, and to focus on living rather than on what other people think or may do. ( Which also is problematic if she is all covered up on a hot day, and suffering a heat stroke because of it since she can’t feel the warning signs)
If there is not enough oxygen near her hands to sustain the fire, she won’t be able to “grow” the fire in her palms. People who can run fast are also a problem because of her limited range
Physical Abilities
General Physical Capabilities. She is slow at running, a bit above average with strength, her reflexes suck, her stamina is average, borderline below average and flexibility is quite below average mainly due to her physical mutations.
Fighting Style: She has no formal training and lacks much experience of staying for a fight to develop much of a fighting style other than use her fire powers and flee if given the chance.
Fighting Style Pros/Cons:
Con: Anyone who has a fighting style and decently offensive powers can take her down.
Pro: Is very aggressive when she needs to/ thinks she needs to be. Using her fire powers to her advantage.
History Of Your Character: Julia had been born first to an Alaskan family who would go on to have a son two years later. Her father and mother had loved each other very much and were very traditional in the way that they were raising their kids. They had believed in keeping their kids homeschooled until high school and also they followed practices of appearing normal. This approach with both parents had been short lived however when her mother had questioned the amount of money that was in their bank account. Julia’s family had been a poorer family in Alaska, and so her mother had known that the higher amount was not even close to where it should be. She had questioned Julia’s father and since Julia was five years old at the time, she had paid no attention to the argument. Instead she had focused on learning to write her name, and to write the alphabet as her Mother was accusing her father of cheating on her.
The accusation had complete truth to it since her father had been in fact paid off years prior by the mother of the kid’s grandparents to stay out of the kid’s life and admitted to it quite quickly since he felt that since she had found out about the money, they could use it to be well off. Her mother surprisingly had not been not mad about the fact that he had an affair but because he had been willing to walk away from his own kid. Julia had not been paying attention when her father had killed her mother with a quick blow to the head, having not wanted to argue his own side any longer. Afterwards, he gave the appearance of being upset even though he knew when it happened that he had killed her.
From then on, her father had raised Julia and her brother in a way that might have seemed normal from the outside, but was in fact quite strict and controlling. They had went to church, had sent his kids to the small public school in town, and they had partaken in learning how to hunt and fish. This normalcy continued until Julia’s powers showed at age 13.
She had woken up in the middle of the night from a not so scary nightmare. However this nightmare had been a result of having caught her own bed sheets on fire. The occurrences of the waking world had made its way to her sleeping state as a fire was her nightmare. She had been dazed and terrified while her father had already been awake and had ran off to get the fire extinguisher to blow it all out before Julia could even get away from the bed. Therefore she had insufficient time to freak out from the fire but had more than sufficient time to notice and freak out at seeing that she now had lava like feet that had made its way up towards her shins as well. Her father had known what she was when he had seen her legs. He had known instantly that she was a mutant freak. However, her father also had known that there was a simple solution. That solution had been the act of Julia having to hide the parts of her body that gave it all away.
She had taken the rules with a grain of salt. She had followed the protocol to a tee of covering up parts of her body that most girls her age would start to feel were meant to be shown as fashion statements. She had been used to rules and after all, had always followed rules quite well. Despite having always followed the rules, after two years, she still had to remind herself to follow them when swimming. Swimming had been the downfall of normalcy. For when she had been just past her fifteenth birthday, at the end of a late summer day, she had forgotten about of the rules and regulations that had abided her all those years. Her classmates had been going for an impromptu swim and so she had decided to go as well. She had taken off her shirt( leaving her bra to act as a bikini) and shoes quickly, having left no time to rethink what she was doing she had ran after the fastest of her classmates. However, the rest of her classmates had noticed and had not reacted in the kindest way nor quietest way possible. She had noticed the reactions as her feet touched the water. She had instantly understood the act that she had just committed. She had ran off before she could hear another word come from her classmates mouths that described her as a monster of some sort, she knew she had ruined it all.
Once at her house she had spent an hour pacing in the living area of their three bedroom cabin until her dad had came home. She instantly knew once she had seen his face, even despite his purely drunken appearance, she had known that he knew. She had apologized profusely, knowing that outside noise was more than just neighbors chatting, they were picketing. Her father had no patience for apologies. He had knocked her out instead of apologizing.
Her dad had hurt her in ways that would gain more than a life sentence in prison. It had ended with her brother making a selfish and selfless sacrifice all at the same time. Still, it had left Julia without a place to call home but a history that she has been trying to forget.

Sample RP: Julia had been running through the trees for what felt like hours but was only minutes. Her mind had been racing for the past few minutes thinking about what her father had done to her, what he had been willing to do to her. She should have seen it coming, she shouldn’t have-. her thoughts had been cut off by thoughts of her brother killing off her father. By thoughts that had included her brother letting her go free with remarks that he never wanted to see her and her freakish powers again. Her feet had tripped over a root of a tree, one she had tripped over years ago while hunting for the first time. An event that had been so long ago that she hadn’t even remember it now, suffice to say it had pulled her out of her mass amount of thoughts. She had found herself on the ground, hands bleeding from falling on coarse tree debris that littered the ground. The coldness of it all had made her wonder why she had to go running into the lake with everyone else. Why had she taken off her shirt to run into the stupid *ss lake. Had to break the one simple *ss promise that she had made her father. Tears had been rolling down her face, but the shouting from a distance had reminded her that she had to keep going. The people, the town who had helped raised her had now turned against her and so she had to turn her back on them for one last time. She had pushed her bleeding hands against the ground to get to her feet, and she had ran forward away from the town.
