The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Most people would have been grateful had someone who they were attacking saved them from slamming their face into the concrete, and quite possibly saved them from breaking their nose. To Julia however, she was p*ssed. Not only was she mad at Jack for touching her head, but also from tripping on the concrete to begin with like an idiot. The concrete was not a living thing nor was it something that could be destroyed, and so naturally the anger was going all towards Jack.
Before Julia could spule off some hateful words for Jack touching her head, Jack was already goading her. Julia was able to stand up fairly quickly thanks to her inability to feel pain and therefore ability to ignore the cuts and burn marks located on her hands, arms and a small cut on her face.
Once Julia stood up, she was ready to seek vengeance for Jack’s irritating words. Even if Jack was giving a diss that Julia could easily use against her, Julia hated the diss, because she hated verbally attacking people based on physical mutations. She found it a low blow even if other people would find most of what Julia said as low blows. Suffice to say every word Jack spoke only fueled Julia’s rage in ways that even Jack wouldn’t have intended. “ F*** you” She said as she went to use her powers to attack Jack’s feet, indeed it was holding back since very deep( very very very deep, where she would never admit it) in the back of Julia’s mind, Julia knew that Jack had saved her from an annoying bloody nose, and she knew it even if Jack was clearly instigating her now.
Julia never enjoyed picking on people who she viewed as ‘weaker individuals.’ Her definition of weaker involved either physically or mentally in the way that someone expresses their emotions more than she views appropriate( even if she does the same more often than not). To her this ‘clothes guy’(Javier) was most certainly of a ‘weaker quality’ given his eagerness of trying to not p*ss Julia off. That or he knew that she was a mutant, which would actually p*ss her off also( a lot of things p*ss her off), especially if that’s why he appeared afraid. She didn’t like the feeling of others feeling afraid of her because of her powers. This was one of the reasons why she had always hidden her powers( and physical mutations) or had put on an act as if she enjoys people fearing her when she does use her powers.
Therefore given Javier appeared to be stumbling along, fearing her and given that Julia appeared to be getting her way( or at least she viewed it as her way,) she decided to let this individual off the hook from her normal escalative way of handling things in that she didn’t escalate anything further when she said “ Super high blood pressure, it causes a lot of swelling” the fact that she didn’t use any expletives was her trying to be nice, but that was as far as her niceness went for her tone still had some natural irritation interwoven in it, and her face just maintained a neutral one instead of the angered one that she had. Furthermore her reasoning was obviously a lie, and a bad one that clearly lacked enough care to spend the time to make up a good excuse for why she wanted bigger sizes.
Julia sat there reminiscing about her past. She thought only about the good parts, not the bad. She had learned to fish on a similar lake such as this. She had learned what it meant to have a family and love them even if part of her family was already dead. She learned a lot of things growing up, none of them included how to tell someone to F off when one is on a shoreline of a lake wanting to be alone.
Therefore Julia’s first reaction at hearing the ‘hey’ come from Devon was a jolting movement, given the surprise she felt at being taken out of her trance of a sort. She composed herself instantly, her legs now pulled away from her body as she was now in a normal sitting position. Her first reply came right after he said hey in that she said “Great, not another one of these f*****s.” with sarcasm and hostility laced throughout as she said it loud enough for Devon to hear but only if he was listening for a reply.
She heard his second sentence and again couldn’t help but have said. “ If you were f****n sorry, you wouldn’t have came here to begin with.” and lastly on the remark on really loving this lake she stood up and said. “ Enjoy the f****n lake f***jack.” she said, using her made up swear word that combined two other swear words. She started to walk away, her shoulders much more rigid and tense than she had been moments before Devon showed up.
She was walking towards the forest of course and not towards the lake, and not towards the area of the forest that Devon was standing in, but deliberately away from it. She didn’t give any more time to her response. It warranted no other responses, to Julia, she had been interrupted while enjoying herself and the interruption didn’t even deserve a glare.
Julia had regretted all of her previous actions as Jack had turned around. A part of her knew that Jack was right and that she was to blame for all of this, but her own pride and well the fact that anger was her defense mechanism didn’t allow her to give up. She did want to bolt out of there, but there were so many people, and they were all scattering away from the scene. She more than wanted but felt like she needed to as Jack exclaimed that there were robots meant to hurt mutants. Her heart had started to pick up at those words. “ You’re f****n lying!” She shouted, wanted it to all be a lie, almost said it as if she was trying to force Jack to say it was a lie.
Julia hadn’t been running from her past all this time to only run into a very similar problem. She ignored the words that pointed towards a simple way out and instead took Jack’s ‘well’ as instigation. As a result of the ‘well’ and the fact that she wanted to be told the truth or what she wanted to hear, she ran towards Jack. She ran fire being created in both hands, but pointed upward and not towards Jack as if unsure if she was going to attack or just go to intimidate. However, in Julia’s haste and lack of agileness, she tripped over the sidewalk less than a few feet away from Jack, the fire going towards Jack as Julia fell to the ground.

Julia had a long day that she will always want to forget. She wanted the h*ll out of this stupid *ss city but she had been drained from her power usage and her day in general and so she needed a place to eat and be away from this many people as she did it. So she had finally hawked over some money for a ‘repurposed’ minute phone with an App Store on it so she could call a stupid Uber that is more likely to allow her to f****n be the way she was without having the police called on her. After all the drivers usually needed the money, and more importantly the cash that she could exchange for her ride being ‘off the record.’
It had taken an hour for Julia to set up her phone and another thirty minutes to figure out and set up the uber app. Julia had never had a cellphone in her life and this stupid *ss city obviously wanted to make things much more difficult for her today. Suffice to say, Julia’s self proclaimed cr*p day from h*ll had continued and she hadn’t even gotten the chance to leave the f****n city. So there Julia waited impatiently( even for her norm of impatience it was impatient) as she glared at every last person who glanced or even passed by her with no glance at all.
Swearing up a storm when someone bumped into her, she stayed tense the entire five minutes that she had waited. To her it mind as well have been five hours because she had more human interaction in that time than she had ever thought she wanted in her lifetime. When the car pulled up Julia debated throwing out her phone so no one could ‘track her’ but she decided against it when she remembered how much of her own money she had spent on it. So she walked to the car with her cell phone, and cussed out one more person before she had entered the car with the aroma of burnt flesh following her into the car.
Her hands had been burnt a bit from her earlier use of her powers, and was indeed smelling up the car with the smell, but she wasn’t going to apologize to the younger individual in front of her, instead she got to the chase with what she intended to receive out of this ‘uber’ ride. She had ignored the stupid humming that any other day Julia probably would have left a car for( even if any other day she would be in a place too small for a taxi lead alone uber) instead of her usual actions she had said “ let’s make this f****n off the books” She knew that many people liked things off the books. Julia herself had made every dollar that she has ever earned ‘off the books’ and the employers are able to avoid benefits when it’s ‘off the books.’ She didn’t think an uber driver would be any different and so she gave her desired location without pausing to see if Thelma was okay with the agreement. “ Take me to the most f****n grossest, cheapest and most isolated f****n restaurant that you know of.” She said. Those three characteristics of a restaurant in Julia’s opinion guaranteed a restaurant with no one other than the chef working at it and no other annoying customers there.

Julia had been pretty much running to keep up with Jack at this point. Julia wasn’t the fastest given her physical mutations and Jack being as tall and as fast as she was didn’t help Julia to keep up at no less than a faster jog. All of the thoughts that Julia wanted to spit out of her mouth had been put on the back burner as word by word the insults, direct and indirect insults were said towards Julia. It didn’t matter how valid they may be nor how warranted they were, they all bothered Julia and made her only more angered.
Furthermore Julia had been busy trying to keep up, trying to not trip over the uneven sidewalks, not trying to be touched by other individuals shoulders, not trying to care about how many people were near her that she had lacked the time and the energy to rebuttal Jack. In the heat of the moment, Julia made a decision that even in her own right mind she wouldn’t have made. That was to show her fire powers. She stopped chasing Jack as she began to make flames on each of her hands, pointing the palms where the fire grew upwards. She didn’t attack Jack yet with them but had caused quite the crowd to start to walk and or run around and away from Julia.
Julia had regretted showing her powers instantly, since she hated anyone, even a mutant knowing that she was a mutant too. It was traced back to her first couple years of having powers and yet hiding them at her father’s orders and her own willingness to follow them. Julia had changed from a girl who was always willing to please to a women who acted as if she didn’t give a f*ck and yet somehow still wanted to be viewed as ‘normal.’
Despite her regretting her actions, as soon as Julia had stopped on the sidewalk, she had spoken up in frustration “Listen here f****n *sshole. You f****n start a f****n fight you f*****n finish the f*****n fight.” It didn’t matter if Julia had been instigating this whole thing, in Julia’s own eyes, Jack was to blame for ‘telling her off.’
“Turn around or your f****n stupid *ss people’s f****n deaths will be on your stupid *ss conscious.” She said the threat with too many explicatives as if she was sincere, even though it was all a bluff. It was a bluff she had used since she hadn’t seen a way out of this situation without acting as if she had a willingness to kill. Julia frankly didn’t know what she was planning but she had to commit to the act at this point. Some may call it pride or arrogance, Julia though knew that she couldn’t run away at this point given everyone around her who were now walking quite a bit around her. It would have been difficult to be lost in a crowd that had been avoiding her and her powers.

Julia had noticed Javier recoil and shrink. She at first assumed that he was recoiling at her personally and not at her reactions. Somehow she had assumed that he somehow some way knew that she was a mutant and that he was recoiling at that possibility. She recoiled inwardly at the thought of him knowing.
However, his words did not show anything of the sort. Therefore she had started to become less tense in both her thoughts and her features( Which for her was more of a intimidating neutral stance and expression). She became less stressed, that is until he asked the question of why did she want the sizes to be larger.
Instantly her shoulders tensed up, she felt sub conscious and furthermore felt like she was put on the defensive. Her words expressed offensive words instead of a defensive one when she rhetorically questioned “Why the h*** do you need to know why?!” She said. All other words that exclaimed that Javier that were perfectly fine with Julia and that had nothing but kind motives for his words had been forgotten. Of course she wasn’t going to give a reason and if it weren’t for the fact that she needed this job, she probably would have left after that question that made her feel as though he knew that she was a mutant.
Julia had started to feel dizzy when Larraine responded back. Julia usually would have chuckled insincerely back, and would have given some type of aggressive response back given that Julia didn’t want to admit that she couldn’t save herself. However, Julia was feeling too drained to react verbally unless she felt it was necessary. She listened the best she could without wasting energy to respond to Larraine’s words, but the words had bothered her.
As Larraine rummaged through her stuff, Julia started to back up a bit, crunching on dry leaves as she was ready to run. She assumed Larraine was an aggressor even if everything pointed towards an ally. Her thoughts were clouded by adrenaline, and by blood loss. The sweat on her forehead has stopped dripping and the blood was still coming but had luckily slowed down. Her energy however was still low or well decreasing. She wanted to have the energy to run, and yet the lack of energy was making Julia p*ssed off at herself and therefore p*ssed off at everything that included Larraine.
Larraine’s words about the bandaging had not been heard by Juliia. They had not been heard because Julia was too focused on the sound of her own heart pumping, and the roaring of the wind picking up. However seeing the bandaging in Larraine’s hands Julia was able to assume, or well more like respond in an accusational way to Larraine’s offer. “No, I don’t f*cken need it” She would say, the hostility mixed with tiredness made it come off as more fearful than anything else. After all, her overly aggressive overly prideful attitude has always been a way to distract from her fear.
She had been backing up slowly when one word finally stood out, the word that meant more to Julia than to most people. Ambulance. A word that to many people seemed like a symbol of help in distress, something that comes to the rescue when a hospital is too far away. This was not Julia’s definition nor symbol she made for the ambulance. The ambulance in fact meant something that makes things worse when in distress, that always had the possibility of exposing her and of treating her differently and tipping off others to do the same. It was one of the symbols on a whole list of things that symbolizes fear for her. “No-No-no” she said as she had been shaking her head adamantly. In the right mind and health she would have been able to spule ten swear words within twelve seconds, but she wasn’t and so a stuttered out no was all she could muster.
Larraine was seeing a rare sight, and that was Julia being tired enough to express her true emotions and not mask them behind anger. She gave a shriek of fear as she saw the bear come from behind Larraine. Julia instantly went to grab her knife despite the fear that it had raised. She had debated throwing it but knew even despite the fog of her mind, that her knife throwing skills had never been great( and that was an understatement). It was riskier given her hand was shaking from both weakness and fear. “Duck?” She would say, waiting to throw. She was crazy but she wasn’t a completely bad person. Even in her fog she had a moral compass and that meant she wasn’t going to kill someone in the midst of fighting a bear, she didn’t even want to risk it.
Julia had heard the voice of Larraine before she was able to focus in and see her. She became more tense than she had been. Had this individual known that she was a mutant? Did she see Julia use her own powers to stop the bear from killing her? Her thoughts were cut off, saving Larraine from hearing Julia’s symphony of vulgarity for now as her mouth had been forced open which was a result of Larrain’s powers, unbeknownst to Julia.
It saved some time but not for long. The only saving grace now for Larraine to not feel like she just killed ten people, was the fact that Julia’s energy had been sapped from the blood loss. So instead of being completely hostile, her words that had been spoken next lacked the hostility that usually accompanied the vulgarity. “ Who the f*ck are you?” She would say, though a bit flatly as she rubbed her forehead so she could focus on looking at the individual in front of her.
Julia hadn’t been taught much in her elementary school years about other states other than Alaska, and therefore New York State was no exception. However, she had been taught about the miraculous forests and landscaping in the Adirondacks. So of course when she had made her way towards upstate NY, she decided to travel her way there to explore the forests and although she wouldn’t admit it, to reminisce about her far past without having to backtrack all the way to Alaska.
She walked on the outskirts of the forest, but close to a valley and didn’t pay attention to anything but the sounds of the forest. She payed attention partly to what was ahead of her, but hadn’t expected to come across a black bear that noticed her before she had a chance to notice it. Granted Julia had assumed all bears were in hibernation in late October ( A thought process developed because of her knowledge that in Alaska the Bears hibernate quite a bit sooner). She went to run and given her slower than average speed of running, the bear had taken the opportunity to attack her back. It shoved her onto the ground just as she remembered that running provokes a bear, it went in for a bite to her shoulder as if to intimidate the individual to stay down, unknown to the bear that Julia can’t feel a scratch nor a bite.
Julia shouted a shout that she would have denied she made to maintain her pride even if she had been caught on tape. She was scared, and angered at her predicament. She had known to not run from growing up in Alaska and yet she didn’t remember it when it really mattered. She twisted herself to look at the bear despite her bleeding back because her inability to feel pain was helping her for once as she used her powers to attack the bear. The bear growled and appeared to be ready to attack again. She increased the power of her flames, but her forehead was already sweating despite the snow flakes that started to fall to the ground.
Her adrenaline was rushing, as her fear increased. She hated this world but she didn’t want to die hating it. Blood continued to leave her back, even if she didn’t feel the pain from it, she was feeling herself grow tired from the blood loss that she wasn’t even aware of was as bad as it was. She kept the fire going for a full two minutes, before noticing that the bear had left. She didn’t know when the bear had left, but she knew that she was tired. She went to stand up, succeeding but found her vision going in and out of blurriness. It was a sign of blood loss. Her back was a bit more resistant than most to sharp force trauma, a result of her physical mutation, but it still wasn’t much resistance, especially not with a bear attack. She had some deep wounds on her back, but Julia shrugged them off for small wounds( a combination of pride and inability to feel no pain, only pressure from the wounds). She stood there looking around a bit too dazed to remember where she was supposed to go to leave the forest. “ F***” she said, she had wanted to shout but had feared that the bear was going to come back.

Julia didn’t realize exactly just what she was getting into when she had decided to pick a fight with Jack, but that didn’t mean that she was going to back down just because of the savage phrasing used by Jack to insult or what Julia felt like insulted her as both an individual and an adult. Julia knew that there was amusement in every word she spoke. Heard it and took it ever more offensively as Jack continued to speak.
For instance, Julia knew that the word ‘whine’ was used by Jack purposely to equate her to a child. Julia was not a child. D****t she hasn’t been since she gained her powers. She was an adult, and just because the lady in front of her was acting as if Julia’s own words had been unwarranted, doesn’t mean to Julia that they weren’t warranted. Julia’s anger had been becoming more apparent with that wording. Furthermore she was becoming more irritated as more people had clustered around them waiting to cross what will be the busiest crosswalk that Julia has ever came across. Still, those eyes making eye contact with her, looking down at her at what Julia viewed as on purpose(granted most anything else would have been insulting to Julia as well) only made Julia more mad.
The final sentence matched with the look Jack had given Julia, had been the last straw, maybe Julia would have actually walked away given Jack had started to walk across the street seconds after at a pace that Julia would have detested even before she had the stupid *ss physical mutations that made it harder to walk fast, but since Jack had spoken seconds before with what Julia viewed as even more undertones, she had decided to follow.
As she followed at what was quite a fast pace for Julia, leading to the beginning of perspiration down her forehead, she spoke up. “Didn’t you f****n have a sure to be stupid a** place to be. To have spent your stupid *** time when you stupidly f****n decided to butt in my f****n business” the question was rhetorical, it had been meant to intimidate Jack to apologize for what Julia had felt to be an unwarranted interaction. Furthermore it was meant to distract Julia from all the other people around her. She needed the distraction whether she cared to admit it or not, even if it meant being a complete *** to someone else.

Julia was used to the confused and or baffled reactions that she always received from other individuals. Her being used to it however didn’t mean that she was okay with the reactions. They made her irritated if anything. She always felt as if people liked mocking her, enjoyed pointing out her differences. To Julia she had made up walls of anger so that she could walk this earth with confidence. Even If she wasn’t entirely aware of her own defense mechanism, she was aware of other people’s reactions to the very walls that were meant to protect her. Although the reasons why she always had been treated differently( since she left her home state of Alaska) had been a result of a mess of her own making( for the most part), she had never felt it was and always retaliated with more hostility because she thought it was the individual’s own fault and not hers. This has led to more problems and therefore a cycle that persists.
Therefore his confusion and bafflement from Javier had bothered her even more than most. Perhaps it had been the long pause responding to her that made it worse or it was because he wanted to take measurements or because he didn’t just take the d*** piece of paper. Julia didn’t know why, and she didn’t care, but she did care about some cocky *sshole thinking that he knew that her outfit measurements were too big and thinking that he was able to persuade her to be measured by him. “There’s no f****n need. These are my f****n sizes” she said flatly with an edge of hostility, and impatience within. She didn’t want him touching her, measuring tape or not, and she really didn’t want him inadvertently figuring out that she was a mutant. The sooner she was let off the hook, the better, but she was getting a bit fearful that her plan was not going to go down as effortlessly as planned, only adding to the anger in her words that she had spoken.

Julia had been stressed out by all the people, all of the commotion in the city, the sights, the noises of people walking, and the normal construction noises that it all amounted to the fact that she needed a distraction from it all. She needed something to attack, something to aim her anger at, displace her emotions of being overwhelmed onto someone else. Julia made up her mind pretty quickly whom to take out her anger on, and Jack’s look of bewilderment made it easier for Julia to decide because it in Julia’s opinion, only proved that Jack deserved the rebuttal for talking to Julia like she had.
Furthermore Jack’s response from Julia’s point of view, had been nothing more than a cackle of ‘guess not’ at what she just said. It made it much easier for Julia to want to pick a fight or well continue an argument with her.Her thoughts had fluttered with embarrassment, with shame from being cackled at as her words that she had spoken were “ Guess not?! Is that f****n all you f****n have to say after you f****n went out of your f****n stupid nosy a** way to tell me what to f****n do” she said following Jack, albeit she tried to not get too close to Jack or anyone, she still followed her as if ready to fight, even if it was farther from the truth.

Julia had watched the kid run off to only notice the individual in front of her clicking away on her phone. Julia stared at the individual with no remorse. Julia was not ignorant to the fact that the individual in front of her was a mutant. However, Julia didn’t care, she wasn’t going to act any kinder to the individual even if a part of her felt a bit bad for being so picky about her own physical mutations when clearly many others had it extensively worse and apparent. So Julia scowled at her as the first line was spoken from the phone. As she rolled her eyes, Julia had been ready to just walk away until she heard the second part.
Julia had two options, she could just walk away with a few remarks( because Julia really felt as though she had to have the last word) or she could stand there and pick a fight. She stayed even as people permitted to rub up against her and past her in ways that made Julia want to light each and every one’s body on fire. (Not lighting them on fire because firstly she didn’t want people to know that she was a mutant, and secondly although she wouldn’t want to admit it to anyone, she hates unnecessary violence, even if she would appear that she seeks it. Granted it’s up for debate if her idea of necessary fell into a lower threshold than most individuals.)
Her words that came effortlessly out of her mouth next however were not so kind. “ You f****n think that I f***** give a f*** about any f****n person who f***** lives in this s***hole of a f****n place that you f*****n call a city?!” She said rather aggressively, even despite the air she gave off as her shoulders cowardly had tried to avoid the contact from others. The irritation in her voice had been fueled moreover by the failed attempts to avoid the contact.

Julia opened the door like any other person would, however her facial expression was very expressive in itself. She didn’t want to be here and she wasn’t going to put on an act for others, no matter how cheery nor friendly they may be. She wasn’t getting paid for this and although she would try to act like she was confident about her plan, even the interaction of having to go through with it was annoying to Julia. She heard the guys spule, and instinctively gave out a light sound of “ ugh” at just how positive and confident this man was about his job. To her it seemed annoying and she wasn’t going to hide her thoughts.
She approached him nonetheless with the piece of paper with her clothing sizes that to anyone decent at tailoring would have probably realized that they were bigger sizes than necessary. “Here’s my f****** shirt, pants, and boot size” she said, using the word boot size because she didn’t know what type of shoe the catering service had in mind, if any, but she knew that she would only be willing to wear boots. Furthermore she knew that the swear word was not necessary even if it had became a part of her general vocabulary. She then held the piece of paper out for him to grab as she herself gave him an uncaring looking as if she just needed him to grab the piece of paper so she can get the h*** out of here.
