The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Dante noticed the eyeroll, but he really didn't have anything to say or do that would offset that. He didn't like pool, but at least that gave you something else to do when it wasn't your turn. If you didn't like videogames, then it just didn't work. Oh well; maybe he could make it up to her if she really didn't like it.
When the classic "FIGHT" appeared on the screen, Dante flew into another mode. However, it would be noted he wasn't just mashing buttons. It was meticulous, intentional. After all these years, of course he'd forgotten some of the combos, but he was able to easily make due with what he knew, and others would come to him in time.
"For now, but after that spanking you gave me, I'd say it's perfectly fair," he said, looking over at the attractive older woman with a wink.

He nodded as she spoke. "Like I said, I'm looking forward to it," he said with a smile. "Even though you can't until you have the baby, I'd still like you to come check out my work. The way I see it, that gives us time to perfect everything," he said, and then he had a thought that clicked perfectly into place in his head.
She said ex. Never mentioned a boyfriend. That could work in his favor after all, right? Maybe. "If you need anything then, let me know, okay?" he said, sort of dropping the hint. Maybe it would work, maybe it wouldn't.

He shrugged. "Well, ultimately it's your body. I only ever talk someone out of a tattoo if it's a completely dumb idea," he replied, stuffing his hands in his jacket pockets. Despite learning she was pregnant and therefore he had no chance, he still couldn't help but look her over.
Dante gave a slight chuckle. "Normal's overrated anyway. But I do look forward to hearing from you, and we'll discuss things. Oh, and if you like my work be sure to spread the word," he said. After all, thank yous and good intentions didn't pay his bills. If they did....well let's face it, he'd probably still be broke.
He took the piece of paper, glancing at the information before putting it in his pocket. While it wasn't her number, he figured this was the next best thing. Besides, if he played at this bar one night, maybe it'd help him take someone home. So it could help him in a number of ways, couldn't it?
"I guess we will," he said smoothly, returning the smile. "Well, you have plenty of time to come by, and even more time to think on it," he said as he pulled a business card from the shop out of his wallet and handed it to her. "Though, if you don't mind me saying, kids' names are pretty popular among parents, especially moms," he said with a shrug. "I mean, I tend to advise against spouse or boyfriend and girlfriend names, but your kid will always be your kid."
The young man picked his leather jacket up off of the floor, putting it on as he looked at her. So this day didn't go quite how he'd expected, but in his book it was still a win.

"Yeah, nice to have someone around to appreciate the music that isn't my dog," he said with a dry laugh.
He nodded. "Sounds like a pretty good move, either way," he said after thinking it over a spell. Reputation was a valuable thing to build, so maybe it wasn't such a bad idea, regardless of his intentions behind it.
"Yeah, I'd like that. Though, considering tattoos are my career choice, I'd hope I'm better at that," the younger mutant said with a shrug, smirking slightly. "I specialize in fantasy and surreal stuff, but I can just as easily do lettering. If you want something more realistic, I'd have to refer you to someone else at the shop." Finally, he unstrapped the guitar, and walked over to hang it back onto the wall.

Once they'd gotten their sticks put up, and their arms were locked, their time for pleasant viewing was over. But now that they were over by the arcade, it was time to focus. And he wasn't planning on holding anything back. His eyes rested on her figure for one more brief moment before scanning the various games.
He was looking to favor more of the old ones, but the newer ones weren't that bad, either. Reluctantly, he released her arm and walked over to an old fighting game. It was more of a button masher, seeing as how it only had three buttons and a joystick for each player, but it was an old classic. Motioning her over, he put the coins in for each of them and the game fired up.
For a character, he picked the stereotypical muscle-head in these games. Large guy, very little clothes. He didn't put much strategy into these games; he liked to hit fast and hit hard.
He smiled an actual sincere, not flirty, not charming or witty smile. "Thanks. You made my day too. I mean, I wasn't really expecting an audience. I just really missed playing an electric," he said with a shrug, opting not to go into details about his life. Hell, he didn't tend to do much of that with the people he slept with.
Open mic night? He'd never really thought about that, but...it'd be an option. "Well, that could help me build a little bit of a foundation, even though I never intend to get 'famous' or anything. But hey, every little bit of money helps, right?" he said with a shrug. But then he had a thought.
"Oh, and I'm not one of those homeless struggling musicians. I got here from California about a month or so ago, and I work at a nearby tattoo shop. I just play in the park to supplement my income while I build up clientele and on days when I don't have anything scheduled," he clarified.
Though, it would be nice to see her again, even if there was no chance of getting with her. She was nice. And a friendship minus sexual tension was always good, wasn't it? Most likely.
Oh, she was looking rather confident. Though that spelled danger for the game--which, let's face it, Dante had accepted his loss ages ago--he liked that. It looked pretty damn good on her, he had to admit. Honestly, he didn't even see the shot, because he was still looking at her as she leaned over the pool table. Hey, it was why he picked this game in the first place.
But when he looked up, the table was empty, save for the cueball. "Impressive," was all Dante said, smirking a little after she'd spoken. And to be honest, she was--and so was the shot, of course.
"Well, the arcade is more my style," he admitted, though he'd never fully admit why he picked pool in the first place. However, he was pretty sure she had a good idea, anyway. It definitely wasn't because of his skill.
Offering his hand out to her, he walked over to the arcade area, surveying the different games. It was always important to get the lay of the land, after all.
Well, his failed attempt at flirting had made her day, apparently. Too bad he couldn't make her night too, but it was obvious she already had that position filled. He'd used his best lines on her too, which while it was nice he lifted her self esteem, it was still a damn crying shame. But that was just the way life worked sometimes.
As young as him? Now she was making it seem like he was just some teenage boy who just discovered hormones. But he didn't take it personally, merely chuckled as he continued to play. "Well, at least I could make you day," he said with a slight nod as his playing began to mellow out. This encounter did help him feel a lot better than he had. Even if his end game sort of failed.
"Well, if it helps I don't normally drink this early, so I was in my right mind when I said it."
"Oh. Oh...." he said when it hit him, his face turning a lovely shade of pink. He'd used his best lines, laid on the charm thicker than a river of molasses, and she was pregnant.
Well now, that was awkward, wasn't it? Wow, I'm sorry. I didn't realize you were..."
But when he paid close attention to her stomach, which wasn't necessarily what he'd been looking at prior...it wasn't obvious, but you could tell there was a little something going on there. And then the inevitable silence threatened to rear its ugly head, so he strapped the smoke-grey guitar back on and began to play. Nothing in particular, just whatever came to his mind.
Music could soothe anything, right? He actually liked Lee, but now that his chance of scoring was off the table, he wasn't sure what to say. Especially after his blunder of hitting on her in the first place.
"I'm not there very often, but at the chance of seeing you again, I'd have to make a habit of it," he said with a smile. The young man didn't want to admit that he was only there when he needed money, which was honestly a little more often than he'd like to confess. He noticed the way she kept shifting the guitar, and it made him quirk an eyebrow a little.
He'd gone spells without playing, but he never really had the kind of awkwardness with it that she seemed to be having. So, he finally unhooked the beauty of a guitar, setting it on a nearby stand instead of on the rack where he got it. After all, he didn't think he was done with it yet.
"You need some help adjusting the strap or something?" he asked, offering his help. "You look a little uncomfortable."
"My frustrations are very....loud," he said with a shrug, "and need to be released as such. Acoustics are great, but don't have that extra bite I need. It's a personal thing."
He nodded as she spoke. "Yeah, I normally play to myself too; though you may catch me in the park with my case open sometimes. I'm not part of any band or anything; I just play for me."
And then, the conversation stopped as she grabbed a guitar and came back over. The song was one he was very familiar with, and sounded pretty damn good on an acoustic, especially when she started singing. To be honest, it wasn't what he'd expected out of her; he'd expected something slow, sweet, maybe even romantic. But...it fit, and he liked this better than what he'd expected from her.
This was the kind of thing he lived for though. Sometimes the best parts of life were thanks to music. It'd gotten him through so much already. Her voice was pretty amazing, to be honest.
When the song ended, he gave a smirk, and a nod as she'd finished. "You're pretty great, yourself" he complimented.
"Touche. But I'm not a salesman," he said smoothly. "Merely...an appraiser."
He gave a nod. "Yeah, I have an acoustic, and I like it. But they lack a certain...." he shredded a few notes. "Edge. It's hard to take out frustration with something so mellow," he added with a chuckle. Though he did notice the smile on her face, even if that wall of ice was showing no signs of cracking. But she did like the music, and that was a start.
"Thanks. So you said you play?" he asked, pausing his playing for a moment and he just let the guitar rest on his shoulder. Damn it felt good. But three and a half grand was a lot to put down on a guitar. Especially now.
"There aren't many to choose from, but I saw a couple acoustics over there if you wanted to show me what you got."
"Yep, and any man that says otherwise is selling something," he said with a wink, his spirits having been lifted considerably, but only partly from playing music. Maybe life wasn't as bad as it seemed to be. He'd just been dealt a sour hand was all.
"It is a great guitar. Figure it'd be a nice goal to set for myself. Getting this beauty, and of course a rig. But baby steps," he said with a slight nod as he continued fiddling with the guitar. "Though I wasn't just talking about the guitar earlier," he said with a smile.
After that, he went back to playing, picking out a rather fast, fitting melody that tested both his mettle, and the guitar's. The song was played in silence, not that he technically knew what the lyrics were even saying in this sense, but he continued to play, once again his eyes drifting closed as the sound of his music again filled the store.
Dante had to admit, 'angelic' didn't do the woman's appearance any justice whatsoever. So the melody he played was a little simpler, just for the sake of talking--and looking. An age was hard to put on her, but Dante really didn't care about that; she was of age, so he was liking the attention.
"Well, that's what came to mind. Angelic, heavenly, a gift from whatever higher power you may believe in," he said with a smile. "Lee...I like it," he said, turning his attention back to his playing, shredding out a nice little mini-solo for a moment.
"I hope to take this baby home one day. But for now, I'm just taking her for a test drive," he answered once he'd finished, still seeing what this baby could do. "But I will say, I like what I'm hearing." He looked down at the guitar, then back to her. "I'm liking what I see, too."
