The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

An impish grin slipped onto his face as she explained and he could only find it in himself to tease even more. "You were embarassed because you liked it and wanted your own little personal secret didn't you? Don't worry I have no intention of stopping 'specially now that I know you enjoy it." The impish grin turning playfully smug.
The moment felt so warm, so intimate and perfect he never wanted it to end. His thumb caressing her cheek again as she held it fast to herself. He tahnked whatever force in the universe made seeing and holding her possible again and kissed her gently back, that didn't feel like enough and he finished it with an eskimo kiss.
He gave a sad smile as he thought on her words, she made him so emotive. "Love, I missed you when you went to the bathroom. There is no need for it, but the heart is rarely so easily convinced. His free arm giving her body a gentle squeeze.
"If you feel comfortable you should rest some more and in the morning i will ma- order us some breakfast. Whatever you want." Cooking it appeared would never be a strong suit of his. His mind wandered far too much to keep anything from burning, but he absolutely not letting her cook her first day back, Nope! She was going to have to endure at least a full day of loving and pampering, maybe even two.

The subdued thumb of the bass fueling the organized chaos on the dance floor still made its presence known even in the bathroom. An entirely different tempo playing out in one of the stalls behind him. All of which were noted and flagged as currently relevant in his conscious and subconscious alike as he stared at himself in the mirror. In a detached way he noted he certainly didn't look any different then the usual Erik he portrayed. Were they different people at all or just carefully compartmentalized facets of himself learned in the hardest of ways? No, he knew he was the same Erik as yesterday. In fact he knew it was probably a truer oversion of himself then he usually showed people save maybe Ranger.
It hadn't been his first or even second kill, but it was certainly one of the only ones he had done for personal gain, jobs aside. Or that it would be the last until he found Andrea.. whatever state she was in. For a brief moment the he felt the fire of righteous anger return, driving away the otherwise cold and bitter numbness that was all to pervasive suppressing even his usual all consuming hunger writhing in the pit of his stomach that would go untended for a slong as he could drive it away.
No as Erik stared into his own chocolate brown eyes he knew the surety of his cause. One way or another he was find the woman he loved. He gave the image in the mirror a terse nod of recognition before it splinter into a million pieces and fell away. Along with it his doubts and fears as he shook the glass free from his knuckles. No doubts, no remorse, only anger.

Ah so she was one of those sorts of kids. Full of mischief and intent on driving every adult around her insane. At least she didn't act all spoiled. Spoiled kids were frankly worse. Still he did a terrible job of explaining things to a kid and she called him on it. Oh well.
He gave a rumbling chuckle and shrugged causing a bit of the wall he was leaning against to lose some paint. "Can't argue that pinky, definitely a better puncher then explainer." Levelling her with his friendliest adultish staredown.
"Please don't. Pretty sure you have more potential for things besides pooping everywhere and being annoying, plus unless your a shifter of some kind impossible. Anything you like learning about? What you want to be when you grow up and all that jazz?" He shook out some more chocolate puffs for her to munch on and enjoyed the view of outside.

It wasn't some huge leap of intuition that Erik had decided his girlfriend didn't really want to go to work with the same enthusiasm she usually held for her job. He was also just barely adult enough to not ask her to stay and watch her hard won resolve crumble. She had responsibilities. He had.. well an almost anarchistic free spirit towards almost everything in life compounded by his introverted ways. Erik also discovered once she was gone it felt like the some part of him had been maliciously torn away yet still there.. just hollow.
He was a doer and a problem solver so mopking was totally out of the question. Five minutes of worrying and a boisterous internal debate and he had a plan driven far more by feelings then intelligence. After dropping her off at work with the most neutral face he could manage he had simply went and made a pit stop before parking his van in the patient parking area and heading on inside like any old delivery person. With his skills it wasn't hard to talk his way past security and find his way to the area Andrea was working.
Carol noticed him out of the corner of her eye and almost double taked herself right into a wall. Aside from her usual innuendo laden words and attempts to pry into his personal life she helped him find his way to the area's break room. Finally where he wanted to be he started to unpack the food he had purchased for everyone working in the area based on conversations he had with Andrea. Of course it couldn't be simple. With Carol on the take the room suddenly had a steady stream of arrivals and Erik had the unsteady feeling of an animal at the zoo.
Despite his growing social anxiety, sweaty hands, and urge to jump from the nearest window he endured. If he couldnn't take some good natured questioning from his girlfriends coworkers for her sake he couldn't call himself a worthy boyfriend. Not that most of them hadn't heard of him given how he had carried Andrea into the hospital and Carol's ability to be herself.
Making sure she was the last person told the catwoman hunted down Andrea and greeted her with a hug and the usual good to see yous and platitudes. "Oh yeah, you should head to the break room as soon as you can." Was all she said before continuing on her own rounds with her signature feline grace.
Erik had earned himself a reprieve by ushering peoples attention to the food he had brought. Hot sandwhiches with salads, one of which was clearly marked 'Andrea' in a large brown bag.
When a person had to eat as much as Erik did you would think a person would get tired of having to eat food. Which at times Erik did encounter. However he still found sparks of excitement when he discovered a new places to eat at or fell into a particular mood for a 'nationality' of food. Today he had a massive craving for some chinese food. The variety of types of noodles and sauces that had been born from Asiatic countries in general boggled his mind. So he had thrown on his clothes and ventured outside for the first time in... the thought prompted him to check his cell phone calendar to check and stared as he figured out the math. That wasn't important! His usual signature ensemble of a cotton t-shirt and blue jeans with boots and a leather jacket.
__
The paranoiac turned into a bit of an isolationist winced at the annoying sun as he stepped out of the restaurant, bounty well in hand and working to keep a satisfied grin of his face. The silent reverie was rudely shattered as he was bumped into by one of New York's many colorful citizens, the momentary lapse made his grip slip and his food spilled out of the bag and across the sidewalk. Before he could contemplate the true depth of how far to take the five second rule glass rained down on him, and his food, like so many broken little dreams. Broken glass would definitely ruin the flavor profile he decided with a sigh as he brushed off the lingering bits of glass from his jacket as he looked around to make sure everyone around him was ok.
There was no explosion so he could rule out an explosive or a gas leak of some kind. The shouting added another element to a puzzle that was forming. The sudden inevitable exodus of the patrons from the shop left him doing a little jump and roll through the window so he could get a better look at the situation.
By his guess some homeless cat mutant was extremely pissed off and doing a pretty good job thrashing the place. "This is for snowball!" He finally made out between tables and chairs being shattered against each other and the walls. A brief look around as the place emptied. The people he guessed were the owners were hiding from stuff being thrown in their direction with their heads occasionally popping up like gophers, the cat lady, and.. a biker with an interesting humant? Probable fellow mutant would be his guess.
It was hard to say if BIKER MAN had been knocked down by one of the chairs flying through the air or the press of bodies had overwhelmed him or some other situation or he had just walked in when it happened. "You wouldn't happen to be with the pissed off fellow mutant over there would you? That would make things way easier." Asking over the sounds of incoherent rage about a snowball and how they were all monsters. Best just to find out right away if he was about to enter a 2v1. He didn't seem too concerned about the situation one way or another, a bit of irritation showing through to his face as he thought on how mutants like this made everyone else's more difficult.

It never surprised Erik how easily certain people interpreted statements into compliments and others you practically had to smack them upside the head with a brick to understand you were being nice. Thankfully this Shin seemed more of a laid back type.
Him a ladies man? Yeah he wasn't going to touch that comment in the same zip code let alone with a almost total stranger so he grunted it off and shrugged. He also certainly wasn't about to dispel the man's illusion of him being old enough to legally drink. Even if the thought of how much it would take with him being a slarge as he was would be amusing.
"Puts a whole new spin on party crashing doesn't it?" Just imagining busting into some too loud frat party and downing their entire keg was an enticing and entertaining idea. One he would have to file away for future use.
"Look at the fancy X person with a high society wife. Please tell me you don't have a sweater vest hidden in some dark closet somewhere. Your wife probably threw them away." Chuckling again at the imagery of shin in a sweater vest. Most teachers he had ever met seemed to be rather down to earth almost boring sort. He was glad Shin had some personality.
"I prefer to learn things at my own pace and own discretion. If I want to learn about advanced manufacturing techniques involving exotic alloys that is what I want to do. Not get stuck learning about when two trains meet on the same track leaving different stations at different speeds. Not that I couldn't do that too. It would just be boring." Then in a more humorous tone he looked to Shin and added. "Besides I don't think the desks would fit someone my size." Grinning at the man before laughing some and shrugging.
"Why teach? Other then a bit of masochism anyway?" The big red seemed genuinely interested or was at least exceptionally good at faking polite conversation with a semi concussed individual.

This conversation was getting far too deep in red's opinion to be done in basking in a window eating chocolate puffs, but he doubted anyone climbed a zen style mountain to converse on hard topics anymore. Chocolate window basking it was.
"You can correct a bad person's actions without means. You can fight someone bad without ever being cruel about it. It is hard to say what sort of meanness is acceptable which is probably why so many people fight. No one can agree everything. Personally? I just punch the really bad people and let someone else take care of it." That was a bold faced lie, but she didn't need to know that. Not many people agreed with his all or nothing approach to true evil.
Whew this adulting stuff was too hard especially when trying to set a good example. Casual visits to the X-mansion were slowly coming off his list of stuff to do or perhaps he would just have to maintain a more casual aloofness instead of caring about random people. Inwardly he suppressed a sigh knowing the chance of that was about as good as his chances of going to the moon.
"Well some baby animals bite or nip because that is the only way they know how to play." He attempted to explain. Then he tried to find an objection to her dislike of those little demon yapping dogs and couldn't really. Crap. Then a brainwave hit and he smiled some. "Not fond of those little yappers either, but just like this Angua is a nice dog exception there are bad exceptions to. The kinds of animals that eat plants are usually safe to be around, but their are bad exceptions to that. Just like how Angua is a good dog there are good types of other animals that are usually bad to be around." Man that was a task in itself.
"An awful creature. Kind of like a turkey, big bird that is black and white with an annoying sound and big flappy wings that poo everywhere and attack people for no reason. I can't think of a worse creature on this planet then a goose. Then when they get together they are even more fearless."

Pocket monsters? Who wanted a monster in their pocket? Difficult to explain indeed. And he doubted Mr. Concussion Drunk could even attempt it if he wanted since basic hand eye coordination seemed to be taking most of the man's brain power.
Face be red? Was that a jab at the fact he was red all over? Wait Math teacher? Silently he offered a prayer to the man's students. Though he had heard stories of boring math teachers so perhaps it was a good balance. "It is in my experience the people who shout the loudest that they are smart are the true idiots. So you are probably doing alright." Sure it was a sideways way to offer a compliment, but it was still an attempt.
"It would be impossible for me to get drunk and even if it were could you imagine how much I would have to drink to make that happen given my size?" Grain alcohol was better for molotovs then drinking in his studious opinion. Or engine cleaner. Ok any use that didn't require consumption. It distracted him from the man's attempts to look like a nature documentary. 'And here we see the baby gazelle take its first steps. Unsure at first but slowly gaining confidence.' Once again he was thankful he didn't suffer boring physical handicaps unless limbs were missing.
"I wouldn't ruin your business card out of spite. I am not that sort of person. The offer is flattering and I will consider it. My costume would not be garish though. Just add an Xmen belt to my current outfit. Think we have both had enough of spandex for at least a decade wouldn't you say?" He remarked with a rumbly chuckle.
"So your a math teacher? I have never been to school before. Is it as much of a hell as tv makes it out to be or are they just typical over exaggerations?"

Red tried not to look too confused, but failed. Mostly the spiraling out of control corkscrew way his mind was going from whatever the heck demigods were supposed ot mean and if she meant real evil or just boogers. Both? Both. He wondered just how much the little one got out. From his earlier musing she probably had a past that she didn't like and was hiding out in the relative safety of the mansion. That simply wouldn't do.
Then she squeaked. Whoops perhaps he used a bit too strong of language. Kids often had a way of finding insight so he was willing to give it a shot even if it meant dealing with the adorable pink mutant girls inflated ego. "Hmm, I will try. It sounds like you are trying as well. We shouldn't try to be mean to anything. Past experiences can make that difficult though." Giving her a bit of a sad smile at that. Some people he knew certainly had a punchable enough face.
"Hard for me?" The big red man reached up to scratch a chin and it was clear he was thinking. Thinking HARD. Then he sighed and shrugged as he looked back down to her. "Nothing comes to mind right this second. I do think you should go to a petting zoo or something to learn that one bad experience doesn't mean all of that sort of animals are evil. Almost all babies are cute." Sure he put a qualifier in that. Some babies were god awful ugly. Like geese. Geese were evil. What a hypocrite he was. "Ok maybe not all animals. Geese are awful creatures. They don't even taste particularly good when you eat them."

Erik figured if the man could be snarky about his obvious and bad attempts at humor then he wouldn't keel over suddenly, he hoped. Concussions were a thing he gave to other people, not helped them through. Though in this case he got to do both even if the former was entirely inadvertent.. for once.
The next comment made him blink for too many reasons to count. "What the hell is a pokemon?" He was pretty sure he heard the kids at Sanctuary talking about that sort of stuff, but the concept itself was so foreign to him learning another language seemed far more to his liking. Breaking an arm with a fish was impressive for all the wrong reasons. Was this guy always so obtuse or did he just catch Shin on a bad day.
"Sure, let us get to it if you think you can walk. You are acting more drunk then concussed. A particular flavor of aftermath your powers have or should I add 'Met a drunk X-man' to my list of shameful accomplishments?" The man had seemed a bit.. perturbed at his earlier manhandling so he would wait for the tiny asian to take the lead in walking.
"Your words are not exactly endearing me to your organization. I am self sufficient without all the bureaucratic crap you guys no doubt have to deal with. Why would I subject myself to that when I can accomplish just as much without being fettered by the preconceptions your fellows put forth? Which incase you are too concussed to remember, I find myself highly doubting I want or need membership in your.. organization. Particularly if some members are as dumb as they sound." He respected the X-men, but they were supposed to be the golden boy heroes while vigilantes did the heavy lifting. At least in his uninformed and happily ignorant opinion. Some people needed protection and camaraderie. He was not one of those sorts of people.

Erik was pretty certain his life was both stimulating and fun. Not many people could say they got to carry a gun around and legally blow stuff up should the need arise. Still he was thankful he wasn't some hourly stiff in a cubicle hellscape. "Hmm, the best sort of people make their own fun I think. Even a boring job can be interesting with intriguing people around wouldn't you say?" His coworkers were certainly a.. bunch.
A prostitute? Well that would be rude if it wasn't an appropriate time and place. "Some people are used to buying their affections. Least with people like that their mouths are a good indicator of lack of character." Shrugging then his eyes going a bit wide as she turned the compliment around on him "Ah, no. Security Consultant." Which was just very politically correct and polite way of saying 'mercenary.' Anyone who had ever held a gun for a living would see right through that self gratifying title.
"I have been in a position where I needed help and couldn't get it. Not a position I would wish on anyone least of all kids whose only crime was being born with the 'wrong' genes." Shrugging a bit before looking at her neutrally again. "People who need help can get it here so I do what I can."
"You think you lost anything important with the whole clock rolling back bit? I have had entirely too eventful last couple of years to want to have missed out on any of it myself. Good or bad."

He subvocalized a sounds that was part enjoyment with the other part torture. Thankfully his little stunt and the fact he had whipped out a note allowed him to regain a bit of his composure. The affection wasn't unwelcome in the slightest, but she was having entirely too much teasing him if her little giggle was any indication of the fact.
It did however mean she attached herself to him like a loving little limpet. Of course just as he was about to wiggle in as close as he could she seemed to have other more restless ideas. A brief moment as a human jungle gym later and he was facing the object of his affection instead. Very intimately close as well.
Opening his mouth to object he wound she wasn't wrong. "I guess I wouldn't." Even his usual mask of bored neutrality had ceased to be around her. His heart was working slightly harder than it needed to and he could feel her own as she pressed against him. It was very soothing and a little smile settled on his face as he looked at hers.
She could feel it like it was her own skin? A range emotions played out on his face in pantomime of seven stages of grief if it were substituted for confusion and awe. "Err.. no. You seemed to have kept that little tidbit filed away for some reason." Erik surmised she was just too nice to mention it earlier. He had been rather affectionate to them since day one and he hoped he hadn't been 'taking liberties' with the slithery rascals. "I am... sorry? Do you want me to stop?" Ack! He remembered the time he kissed them all. Had they even been dating then? Man he was the worst.
Wiggling a hand free from her needy grasp he reached up to gently caress along her cheek. "I really didn't know it was possible to miss a person so much."

He had been comfortably chewing on his protein bar as willingly settled himself into her deep burrowing embrace. It filled him with a sort of warmth he found himself growing to like and wanting more of everytime they could steal away some time to cuddle in close to one another. All the blankets were a tad on the warm side for him, but figuring she wanted the feeling as of security as much as anything else he settled himself in as the serpents wriggled to show their own affection. One even going so far as to get his food! He batted it away playfully and quickly shoved the rest of his food safely away into his mouth for safety exactly like a chipmunk and gave a purely throaty 'mmmf!' of victory at the little companion. As a consolation prize he started to gently gently pet the snake to soothe away some of the anxiety of being denied a meal.
Until he was distracted by the plushy affectionate kisses to the back of his neck. A little shiver tremored through his body and focused his attention on the snake trying to ignore the rapid flutter of his heart at the affection he had come to thrive on. AH conversation! Good thank the greek mutants called gods for it stopped her from torturing him for a bit.
"I was tempted to do so anyway consequences be damned. They really weren't built for two though. Someone should fix that." Tone playfully grumpy at the thought before sighing, relaxing into her some more. "Your opinion is the only one I care about. As long as your happy and happy with me I couldn't ask for anything more then that. Everyone else is just background noise dearest." Moving his hand to rub one of her bare legs she had wrapped around him.
Dammit he had been mentally prepared for a clingy drift back to sleep, but it appeared she had other ideas. Ideas like torturing his poor soul and heart in a delirious nice way. It was impossible to hide the way his back tensed with how tightly she had snuggled up against him when she nibbled his shoulder. It was far too close to his sensitive neck for his liking. Which just so happened to be where her cheek was occasionally resting against. A far more demure 'mmmff' subvocalized itself from his throat and couldn't suppress a shiver. It wasn't quite a moan, but it certainly had the capacity to become one if she didn't stop.
"If I didn't know you better I would think you had ulterior motives for trapping me like this." It had taken a moment to calm his breathing some so it didn't soo tooo shaky or wispy. He didn't really want it to stop. Any tenderness after the last week was absorbed like a water starved plan. Almsot startling himself as he remembered something his free hand rummaged into the pillowcase he was laying on and with the unmistakeable crinkle of paper. The slightly crumbled post it note moved next to his neck so she could read it. 'Just seeing you smile brightens my day. 3 of ?'
"Just in case you thought I was lying about them being hidden about."

Erik wasn't the least bit afraid of sniffling in front of the woman he loved. If he couldn't cry in front of her who could he? The outburst of love he felt from the display of emotion was almost too much for him to handle or comprehend, but he attempted to try and muddle his way through it as he did with anything involving her it seemed.
"Words are a lot easier when they come from the heart." The party incident was proof of his own introverted ways only to be hammered home by his library of a room. She however brought out the best of him in ways he didn't think were possible. The lowkey nervous tension he usually felt around other adults never manifested itself around her unless they were thrust into a situation with lots of people.
The kiss to his cheek made it all worth it. Later he would find time to admit he had found the letter idea and the notes he had put around the apartment too cheesy and almost didn't see light. The kiss to his cheek was returned with one against her own as she spoke then gave her another quick one on the lips because he was feeling a bit greedy himself.
"All things considered you are completely allowed to be selfish for a few days. We can do whatever you want." The warm gentleness of his tone betraying his inner feelings that he would never consider her selfish.
The hugging alone didn't feel like enough and his cheek pressed to hers to nuzzle against it a moment feeling her own soft skin against his before she started pulling him towards the bed. He detached quickly to grab some protein bars to munch on so he wouldn't figuratively die and snuggled under the covers with her. Figuring she wanted maximum contact he turned on his side so she could wrap around and get all entangled and clingy with him if she so desired without the snakes getting in the way. Running a gentle hand along one of her legs reassuringly as he stuffed his face.

Erik smirked a bit as she half mumbled about getting furniture for his big form. Suppressing a laugh as he gently kept a tender hand on her body. Even the snakes seemed to make themselves comfortable. He enjoyed the intimacy despite his own completely awake state and contented himself with reading stuff on his phone with his free hand once he was sure she was out and snoring cutely.
The act of getting smaller seemed, for some reason, to be much less painful and usually a source of relief. For once now he was a bit disappointed. Her warmth though largely swallowed up by his own radiating self was a comforting presence after a exhausting week of intense pressure and anxiety. Not to mention the bit of guilt at waking her up from trying to sleep off sed week as well. As she disappeared he gave a bit of a nod and let nature run its course.
Shrunk back down to normal he found the bag he had brought by earlier with his usual changes of clothes and survival stuff to follow her example and change into some comfy clothes. That done he moved about to tidy the tiny mess they had made in the few minutes of moving around they had managed to accomplish. The bed back in shape and everything put to rights he looked towards the bathroom door as it opened. Smiling towards his woman's return for his heart to stop at the sight of her.
She had been crying, intensely from the look of it. He didn't expect her to breakdown so hard or even so soon for that matter. Heart slowly beginning to rend itself in two until he noticed the letter clutched in her hands heartbeats before she threw herself into him. A bit of a stumble as he was caught completely off guard. His own arms hugging them around her protectively as she tried to squeeze the life out of him. Then she cried more and said words the melted his heart.
At the time the letter had seen so silly. A tiny impossible weapon against whatever horrors of the days had inflicted upon her in the time it had taken him to get to her. He had even considered throwing it away before squashing his doubts, convinced something was better then anything.
Now it was clear it had meant much more then the tiny power he had believed it capable of. His own spoken words always seeming to be insufficient to serving his purposes and at times just plain uncomfortable in situations he had to speak. In the written word he seemed to have finally found his true voice and reached her heart. Erik only hoping it would banish any doubt in her mind how he felt about her and she would truly believe what he had to say.
Somehow his face had gotten wet and he was clinging to her and to the warmth of the moment. Voice shaky he managed a reply, "I love you too my heart." Words being cheap as they were he squeezed her and gave the top of her head a kiss before is cheek nuzzled into it careful to avoid the wounded section. A small smirk appearing for a moment as the snakes showed their own appreciation as they squirmed about against him. Eyes slipping closed as the squeezing and reassuring continued themselves against her for as long as she decided to hold it. He was in no particular rush despite his hunger. For once he had found something that could make food wait.
