The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Syn narrowed her eyes. "So you would torture your ally over something that I had no possible way of knowing that Iris is your daughter? On top of that I didn't physically harm her. She was just placed into a cell and I tested her to see her potential. So I'm sorry Hunter but I refuse to suffer for your daughter. Had things been different and I knew who she was exactly then I might agree to your request."
The girl didn't flinch or relax. Whether or not this was some sort of test Hunter was playing she wasn't going to give in. She damn sure wasn't going to suffer for anything she had done up to this point.
Syn smiled at Hunter as he spoke again. "I'm not affraid of pain. What doesn't kill you makes you stonger. Don't you agree?" She couldn't be and closer to the absolute truth. At least for her anyways and that was why she was smiling.
"Why do you want my blood Hunter? I never cut Iris. I simply wanted to see what her potential might be."
"I do not have a sad existence my dear Hunter. If I desire pleasure or company I will have it."
She watched him twirl the knife. He wasn't getting upset with her but then again she wasn't trying to make him mad either.
"What do I think would be fair? Well, it certainly doesn't involve drawing blood from me. Personally I think the fact that I am willing to refrain from attacking the mansion people should be more than enough. I do not wish to dissolve our alliace."
She thought for a moment before deciding to ask a somewhat odd question. "Do you have a shape shifter in your service?"
"My dear Hunter. You have much to learn about me still. There is no one close to me. Yes I have my members and I would fight for them but I have no ties to them like you do to Iris save for Abyss and he's already been experimented on."
Syn kept her cool and now leaned back in her chair. "You can not expect me to pay up for anything I've done to Iris without me knowing she was your blood before hand. Had I known you and her then things might've been different but as they aren't..." Syn left it at that to see Hunters reaction.
Iris is Hunter's daughter. Syn thought back to the holding cells for a moment. She saw Iris's face in her mind but she didn't see a resemblance.
"I have to correct you. Iris was only subjected to one experiment along with several others all at the same time. I wanted to see how they reacted. You can't blame me. I'm sure you'd do the same thing if you were in a similar position."
Hunter spoke of some sort of penance for what Syn had done with Iris. He followed this by pulling out a jewelled dagger and Syn couldn't help but laugh.
"I have a pretty little knife as well. Let me guess. A gift from Kaz?" Syn does not give penance.
Syn rolled her eyes when Hunter mentioned the mansion residents wanting their beloved X-Men back. She didn't care about them. She only wanted her people returned.
"Very well then Hunter. Perhaps you will continue to keep your secret. Who knows. Was there something else you wanted to discuss?" She leaned closer to him and smiled like a cheshire cat. At the same time she reached over and placed her hand on his.
"Deathstar was caught you say? Hmm...." Syn's face lit up with joy. "Do we have to rescue all the captured mutants? I wouldn't lose any sleep if the X-Men were left to rot. I do, however, want my people back." Syn leaned back in the chair as she thought about raiding the camps and causing more mayhem as well as gathering her forces once more.
"How do you know they won't find this place and attack it? You can't hide forever my dear Hunter. One day your little secret will get out and then you'll be in the same boat as the rest of us."
The girl followed Hunter until they reached a room that seemed to be a meeting room. She thought of the war room in Sanctuary. Maybe this was Hunter's version of such a room. It definately had plenty of room for others to gather.
Hunter sat down and gestured for Syn to do the same. Picking out a chair that was close to Hunters the girl sat down. She watched him typing away on some sort of console on his arm. One thing was for sure. The man had lots of technology and he kept his employees well equipped as well. Syn began thinking of what she could do to increase the Order's capabilities as well as what kinds of things the scientists could come up with.
"You say that your guests from the mansion are not any of the X-Men members. I find that rather pleasing unless of course they have gone into hiding. I know Tricity gave herself up and took many of the younger mutants with her." A wicked smile crossed Syn's face. "It's a bit funny don't you think? The self proclaimed protectors now are looked at like the rest of us. The humans have made the biggest mistake ever by allowing this bill to become law. They thought mutants were dangerous before all this? They haven't seen anything yet."
Syn paused for a moment. All the while she had been watching Hunter. "So what exactly are you planning to do?"
"That reminds me. I'd like to speak with Teresa/Sonya about her part of the mission. If you do find her let her know I'm looking for her." Yes, Syn was very interested to find out if her new spy was able to gather any information on the mutants in the camps as well as those who have been registered.
Smiling to Shades remark about there being no lack in possible work Syn shook her head. "If we're going to be strong then we must work to learn about those around us. It's always good to discover a weakness in one's opposition so that weakness can be exploited to it's fullest extent. So other than looking for Teresa/Sonya you might see about getting to know any of the others who are taking refuge here. Preferably people under Hunter's command and those from Xaviers sister school."
"Well, you could look into where Sonya has gotten off to, or you can find out more about the one known as Calley. I have my suspicions about him. Something else you could do is look for more recruits to join our ranks." Syn waved her right hand in a nonchalant manner. "Take your pick unless there's more on your mind at the moment."
Syn could see her mental games were getting to Shade. She couldn't see his full expression but his tone told her what she wanted to know. "I greatly appreciate having someone who can take orders. As for being a servant, if you prefer to be refered to as such then I have no problem doing so. I only require your unwavering loyalty to me and to aid our companions."
"Just from that little description you don't sound all too threatening as you made yoruself out to be a few minutes ago." Syn looked at Shade with a questionable expression. If there was more he wasn't telling then She wanted to hear it. On the same token if that's all he had to make himself out to be as aweful as his tone had suggested earlier then she was far from impressed.
"We're not talking about me right now. We're talking about you. Tell me more about you and your bad side." Syn had also noticed the nurse when he coughed and when Shade turned to look at the man Syn shot the nurse a wicked glare. She quickly retracted her look as Shade turned back to her.
The response Shade came out with made Syn smile. "That's ok I'm not exactly known for being little miss wonderful either. In fact, most people that aren't in my little group tend to give me plenty of space if they've heard of me."
Syn smiled and giggled at Shade's question. "Yup they sure do. Pretty much the only difference is their personalities. They're an interesting bunch alright." She wondered what Shade thought of that.
