The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

>> ”You never know until you crack open the book and read it. Luckily we just happen to have two copies… I’ll set one aside for you."
She nodded, probably a little too excited. "Alright, can't wait to read through it and learn about the greatness of the potato." Celeste didn't think she'd go home with a book about the history of the potato, but looks like she is. She was actually a little excited to start reading it - if Booker recommended it, it had to have a lot of information and had to be a pretty good book. She daydreamed a little about what she'd read, a mighty potato saving countries from the brink of starvation. Her thoughts wandered to where she had originally learned about the Great Famine. Maybe during elementary school? An important event in history due to the severity of the situation, but mostly irrelevant now, at least in her life.
She paused, thinking for a moment, "You know, I'm pretty sure I read an article a few months ago about potatoes being able to grow on Mars. Something about the soil having some type of nutrient or being like the best possible match, you know, in the soil... Stuff?" She started mumbling a little bit, her attention focused on trying to remember the article. "If you're interested, I can find the link. Probably. It may be the future of humans. You might appreciate it a bit," she shot a big grin to him. She realized that Booker was probably her closest friend now, besides Ms. Norma. It was a bit strange, considering she barely knew anything personal about him. She hadn't talked to anyone from Canada.
She kept on dusting the dirty books. It looked like they might be getting close to finishing the dusting portion of this task. Her alarm on her watch went off, which spooked her a little bit. Looking at her wrist, she turned it off and went over to her purse. She had it laying on the floor, leaned against the bookshelf about midway. She grabbed a small bottle of water and her anti-nausea medication. She paused, and realized that she wasn't nauseated. Weird. She is suppose to take the medication every 4-6 hours, and her watch is timed to go off every 6 hours. Usually, she takes it about every 5 hours since that is when she usually start feeling the symptoms again. She was surprised she wasn't, but hey, she wouldn't complain. She was visibly puzzled although slightly relieved. To be on the safe side, she decided to take the medication anyways. Maybe it was just a weird day. The nausea may hit her harder later in the day. Prevention is key!
>> Yeah, yeah, all us librarians are supposed to be old women with rat’s nest hair buns, and coke bottle thick glasses. But I’m glad I could surprise you. You should hear my play my ukulele. I do a mean rendition of Train’s ‘Soul Sister’. And yes, I love that song. Between you and me, that’s where I heard it too."
She stuck her tongue out at him playfully, "You know that's not what I meant! But I mean, come on, you know the little old lady librarians are adorable!" Not a lot of people could sing as well as they both did. She had seen enough of Canada's Got Talent to know that was true. Usually, though, people excelled in something - instruments, grades, programming, anyways. People were just different.
"Oh, you play the Ukulele? You're totally going to have to show it and play a song for me one day! Soul Sister is a great song. I've never actually heard someone play the Ukulele before. Um, or I guess I didn't know if they did or not, actually." She wasn't even sure what a Ukulele sounded like, so she really had no idea what it might sound like. She knew about them, what they looked like, but not much else.
Binge watching shows use to be a hobby, if you can call it that, in her free time. She watched up to season 7 of Grey's Anatomy in one weekend. Once she left Canada, though, she had no TV or device that could play any shows on. She had only taken herself, her clothes, and essentials. It dawned on her that she is completely behind on almost all the shows she used to watch, which prompted a small frown.
>> ”Um, yeah! I’m getting ready to do a run through of that game on my ViewTube channel, Pixel Rainbow. You should subscribe. My sister and I put some great gaming videos on there.”
She laughed quietly after Booker made a little too loud yeah and gave him a playful scowl at him trying to shush someone. "You're going to get us in trouble," she joked, with a beaming grin on her face. She nodded, "I'll definitely subscribe! Let me write the name down so when I have a chance to get on ViewTube again I'll remember." She actually had no idea when she might be on ViewTube again, though. She didn't have a computer, at least not yet. And she wasn't going to use the library's computer to watch videos on ViewTube. Hopefully he wouldn't be checking in a couple weeks and see that no one named "CCpoweredatomWard" hadn't subscribed to him and his sisters channel.
Celeste was actually a bit surprised at how much dust had accumulated around the books. It looked like someone packed this area full of books then went into full retreat. She wondered how long it had been since someone actually checked out a book from this shelf. Whoever was the last person to put a book in this bookshelf sure was brave. Occasionally, she would see someone walk past the bookshelf, looking like they were completely lost. She debated on asking them if they needed anything, but realized she and Booker already had their work cut out for them.
She took a quick look at her watch. It turns out her and Booker were making pretty good time, considering how dusty this shelf was. She nodded to herself, impressed with how fast they were going through the bookshelf. One too large sweep in the back, and a huge dust cloud came out. The dust landed straight in her face, causing her to cough and wave her hand in front of her face. A bit ironically, she dusted the dust off her dress. Probably not the best attire for working, but she always felt like she needed to be at least somewhat formally dressed in a library. She really wasn't even sure why, considering everyone else really only ever wore general clothes. She even saw this one guy come in his gym clothes, literally decked in sweat.
She nodded, it was a great book. Listening to Booker talk about the one of his favorite books, she let out a quiet laugh. "Well if you're being serious..." She took a quick look at him to see a grin on him, but nothing that indicated he was joking, "I'll admit, I don't know just about anything about potatoes except they are delicious. Oh... Well, that and the Irish Potato Famine - er, I think it's also called the Great Famine? I'm not really sure which. I'll have to check it out and read through it, though - maybe I'll find a new passion in the potato."
>> ”Your secret is safe with me,”
Celeste had a big grin then, "Thank you, it's a top secret secret." As Celeste worked, she let her thoughts wonder. Celeste could tell Booker loved his job and the library. He was dedicated, passionate. He had been a pretty good friend to her since she began volunteering and working with him. She wondered what made him want to become a librarian and what had drawn him to this library. She thought about asking him about it, but decided it probably wouldn't be the greatest idea. In her personal experience, people have these types of passions due to some personal reason - family members, some bittersweet memory of someone or something. Sometimes questions like that can make someone uncomfortable.
When she heard Booker start singing along with her, her eyes lighted up. She didn't even realize how good of a singer he was at first. She was surprised he knew the song she was singing. Her friends in Regina didn't ever listen to the type of music she did. She did a quiet clap, her excitement building up. "You know this song," she asked with excitement. It was one of her favorite songs, "I found out about the singer, Kate Havnevik, thanks, to, um, well," she paused, giving a sheepish smile "binge watching Grey's Anatomy." A slightly embarrassing confession, considering she thought the show had took a turn for the worse the past few seasons. Finally processing his good voice, she quickly added in, "You have an amazing voice too! Librarian and singer, who would have connected the two," she said playfully. She remembered back at the library in Regina that sometimes they would have some people come in and play songs or have other fun activities. However, usually it was for the kids, not the adults.
She had completed dusting the bottom few shelves. She paused and thought of another song to quiz him on. "Hmm, what about... Too Much is Never Enough by Florence + the Machine?" This is one of her favorite songs too. She couldn't sing it exactly the way Florence can but she was confident how she sang it. She sang it pretty darn good. "It's from the game Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy... XV I believe. I actually haven't had the chance to play the game yet, but the soundtrack is amazing."
Celestina relaxed fairly quickly once Juliette began talking to her. She probably thought she was crazy, but surely Celestina wasn't the only one to spontaneously show up one day asking to be admitted into the school. While Celestina hadn't heard much about the school in Canada, once she came here she heard from various people and over the internet about the school.
>> ”This must be kind of crazy, huh? New York is a bit different from lots of parts of Canada. Where about are you from?”
She nodded, "Yeah, it's a bit different. I'm in general a fairly nervous person, so it makes it double nervous being in some place this knew. Plus, I actually never left Canada before. I'm from Regina, it's practically right above North Dakota." She smiled, "But it's been a great experience. I've met some really cool people in the time I've been here."
>> ”I’m Juliette, and yes, I’m part of the faculty here. I teach Health and I’m a member of the X-Men. Now, radiation sounds kinda dangerous, but you look like you have pretty good control of things. Why don’t we talk a bit more inside? I can get you set up with the paperwork to enrol."
Her eyes widened a bit at hearing that she was a member of the X-Men. That's pretty awesome to finally meet one of them! "It's a pleasure to meet you, Juliette!" She turned a bit red again, looking towards her feet and scratching her neck, "Sorry again." Well, what a great first impression on someone who might not only be your teacher but is also part of the X-Men. Yikes! She shook her head and began walking towards the entrance of the mansion.
She perked up even more at the idea of getting enrolled into classes. "Is it as easy as signing up, what are the fees, all that kind of stuff?" She asked, inquisitively. Granted, though, Celeste knew most of her answers would probably be questioned once they were inside. There was probably enough space for people to have their own bedrooms in the mansion. How much did
>> Do you have any bags that I can grab?"
"No, I don't have any of my stuff with me right now. I'm renting a room from this older lady I met at the library when I first made it into town, so all my stuff is stashed in there. Thank you, though, I appreciate the offer!" Her and the older lady, Ms. Norma, had actually become pretty good friends in the short time Celeste has been in New York.
She grinned towards Booker, “At least this one will be a challenge! Who isn’t down for a good challenge? And even if we do get killed by books, seems like a pretty good way to go to me. We’ll be heroes of the library. Maybe they’ll even name a library or two after us for our dedication?” She grimaced, remembering the Ziploc bag.
>> ”I’m still trying to convince myself that that thing I found in the Ziploc was an old burrito and not…ugh! It was an old burrito. It was.”
“Oh, that was even worse than the gum.” She over exaggerated a shudder, “It had to be an old burrito. And people are really gross.” It actually made her a bit angry/upset that people were so disrespectful. Putting guminto books and what is hopefully old burritos in Ziploc bags in the library. There was really no excuse for people to be doing that. There was plenty of trash cans throughout the library, outside of the library, really everywhere. Some of these books contain so much knowledge, creativity, and imagination. It is amazing how much the authors put into their books. It's sad to see people treat them like they're worthless.
She was fairly concerned about the safety of the bookshelf. Celeste was a fairly nervous person naturally, though. They would most likely have enough time to dodge out of the way if something happened, anyways. She started using the feather duster at the edges of the shelves. Dragging the fairly large built up of dust out onto the duster, a lot of the dust went straight onto the ground. She crinkled her face up, holding her breath each time she pulled out the dust. Hopefully, she would avoid the worst of breathing in dust. It looks like this section may not have been touched in a while, at least these areas of the bookshelf.
Working along the bottom line of books, she gasped, carefully picking one of the books out of the bookshelf. She traced her hand over the title, smiling. “The Death and Life of Great American Cities. I’ve always loved this book, I had a copy back in Regina.” She placed the book off to the side for now – it didn’t belong in this section of the library anyways.
>> ”This is the life, isn’t it? Who needs money, wealth, fame, or... Functioning lungs?”
She grinned and let out a quiet laugh at his comment, “It is the life," she exclaimed enthusiastically. "Lungs are overrated anyways.” Thinking for a moment, “It is a bit tedious and fairly boring but I wouldn’t want to spend my days doing really anything else. This library has, honestly, been my lifeline since I got here a while ago. Plus, it’s all about the greater good, right? If even one person finds one of these books and it inspires him or to do, well, whatever, then it’s worth all the tediousness and boringness... And potential lung diseases." Semi-jokingly, she grinned, "Please ignore the super mushiness in that statement. Was a bit more embarrassing than I was expecting," A large gush of dust flew into her face, making her cough and wave it away. She decided she would pick up some surgical masks for them to use when she has the time.
She started quietly singing Sleepless by Kate Havnevik between the pauses in conversation. She had the song stuck in her head for the past few days. Thankfully, she has a pretty good singing voice. When she was a freshman, she actually won her high schools’ talent contest by singing. The dirtiest of jobs can go by fast with good conversation and some music.
Celestina stared down the mansions sidewalk, out towards the front entrance. “I wonder if they have any type of requirements for admission,” she pondered out loud to herself. She really needed to be able to join a place like this – one where she could finish her schooling and learn more about her powers. She furrowed her brow, “Bah, I gotta quit just sitting here.”
She was brought back to reality when she heard a voice. She glanced over to where the voice came from and saw a woman slowly approaching her. She looked like she was being cautious, which made some. Some random girl on the sidewalk. She winced to herself, realizing how much of a weirdo she probably looked right now.
She quickly stood up, brushing any dirt off of her jeans. She had dressed casually today, basic jeans and a blue button up shirt with her sleeves rolled up. Celeste gave a smile towards Juliette. How come everyone she has met in New York were gorgeous? It seemed like New York may be the capital of most attractive people alive.
>> ”Hi there. Is there something I can help you out with?”
“Hi! I’m Celestina De Ward. Celeste, for short.” She paused and walked over towards Juliette. She kept her hands as visible as possible, careful to make sure Juliette knew she wasn't intending any type of harm or was dangerous at all. "I was, um, looking to see if I could enroll at the school. I’m originally from Canada, but got here a while ago due to some family issues with my mutation.” Once she was within handshake reach, she reached her hand out to shake Juliette’s.
She winced, realizing how potentially awkward and weird her sentences were coming out. Already a bit of an awkward person, it didn’t help she was nervous coming to the mansion. Really, she wasn’t even sure why she was so nervous. “Um, so you know up front, I can absorb and release radiation from my body, so that’s my mutation, I was hoping to come here to finish up my schooling & work on controlling my mutation and some other stuff. I found you guys on Google but I couldn't find all the information about admissions and stuff like that.” She had presumed the woman was some type of faculty, but she realized that may have been a big assumption.
“I guess I should’ve asked first- are you a student or part of the faculty? Could you kinda point me in the direction I need to go, if possible?” She finally stopped talking, realizing she was continually rambling. She took another deep breath, “Sorry, I’ve been a little on edge since I got here. The culture shock or something, I guess.” Her face had turned a little red, embarrassed by her rambling.
Celeste watched Aiden dodge the punch by the guy and made a little clap, cheering him on. The man was gasping and moving his arms about, trying to get his breath back. He didn’t seem to even be focusing on the sudden snow storm heading towards the woman and the older guy.
Celeste quickly ran over to the middle-aged guy while he was unfocused and trying to breath, and blasted the flare she had been charging up directly into his body. It took a few seconds, but he crippled over, and vomited what seemed to be straight up alcohol. The sudden smell of alcohol even made Celeste a bit nauseous. Celeste crinkled her nose, “Seriously? You should at least eat something when you’re drinking like that,” she grumbled towards the guy. The middle aged guy had curled up the sidewalk. He was still trying to catch his breath after Aiden hit him in his diaphragm. And now he was trying not to vomit again, which would probably be more of a dry heave at this point. At least he is taken care of for now.
Celeste turned her attention to the older guy, who had actually started running away. What a coward, Celeste thought. He had practically abandoned the woman and the middle aged guy. Not to mention, for an old guy he did run pretty fast.
Celeste backed up against the wall again, knowing she couldn’t do much now that he had created so much snow. It would be hard to aim. She might hit him or some pedestrian, and she didn’t want to risk anyone else’s harm.
The woman watched the older man run as she slowly backed away from Aiden, her fingers trying to grab the gun. She finally got it out of the holster and was preparing to aim it, “Back up! Don’t think I won’t shoot you if you get any closer to me, snowflake!” Celeste paused, unsure of what to do - should she intervene? Should she left Aiden deal with her? She would have to wait a few more minutes before she could charge either way, so she got her taser out in case she could maneuver herself to taser the woman.
The New York Public Library had become sort of a home to Celeste over the past few weeks being in New York City. It was a refuge, a safe place from all the chaos going on in the world. It definitely helped that she had pretty much nothing else to do, either. She remembered the first time she went to a library in Regina. It was the Regina Public Library – Central and Children’s Branch. She was around 8 years old. She knew she checked out a few books that day, but she cant remember the books she brought home with her. It was a bit weird, but she loved the feel and smell of the books ever since then.
Volunteering at the library has pretty much been an everyday activity for Celeste since she arrived in NYC – especially considering all the job applications she’s put in through the libraries computers. The library is how she met Ms. Norma Bakersfield, the elderly woman she’s renting a room from. Granted, Celeste is pretty sure Ms. Norma was only letting her stay because Celeste would help her clean & would cook lunch or dinner. She was wearing a new, blue spring dress she had gotten a few days before with some tip money from the diner she had started working at a little bit ago. She was excited to finally be able to afford some extra stuff and settle into a routine.
It was the perfect weather. The long walk to the library from her little room made her a little dehydrated, but she loved feeling the warmth of the sun as she strolled through the city to the library. She scolded herself quietly, though, she really needed to just start using the subway or buses. It was time for her to get her metro, bus pass and start taking advantage of what the city offers. But, at least she's getting her exercise during the day.
She wrinkled her nose and stared at the tall bookshelf that looked like it was ready to explode with books. “We might need safety helmets,” she whispered, more to herself than to Booker.
>> ”I’ve honestly seen worse. Scout’s honor.”
She took the feathered dusty from Booker, with a quiet laugh, “I just really hope I don’t find any random gum stuck around the bookshelf this time around. Or in the books, too.” She even found a couple books with gum in them. She had bought a small hand sanitizer to carry with her.She paused for a moment, lost in thought. Celeste loved being in the library, even with mundane, every day tasks. She was grateful that the library let her stay and volunteer, especially considering how many fluctuate in and out.. The quietness, the peacefulness, it the calm, it all made the repetition worth it. After she had taken a deep breath, "Welp, let's get to it!"
Celestina was trying to comprehend how mean these people were. Were Americans really like this? Hopefully it was a minority. She stared them down, “Look, I don’t want any trouble. I’m just a little loss, trying to figure out how to get home. I have nothing against you guys and you guys shouldn’t have anything against me – I can control my powers, okay? Please just leave me alone.” Her voice was shaky and she was nervous – she wasn’t good in social situations either way but this type? She wasn’t exactly sure what to say. If the lady went for her gun, Celeste wasn’t sure if she’d have enough time to blast her, especially if the other guys jump her. She might could do a body flare but what if someone comes out of the store? It looked like there might have been some kids in there but she wasn’t sure.
The older man huffed, “Does it look like we care if you can control your powers? You’re a FREAK! You don’t deserve to be alive. That’s why me and my friends here are starting a new group, it’s called “Kill the Freaks.” Celestina perked her eyebrow at that, muttering “Seriously? That’s the best you guys could come up with?” Apparently, that wasn’t an appreciated response because the middle-aged man began to clench his fist and was about to throw a punch at Celestina.
Celestina was preparing to do a body flare. When she saw Aiden come out of the ice cream shop, her eyes screamed for help – she wasn't sure what to do, she had only just moved into NYC a couple weeks before and she wasn't exposed to these type of situations back in Canada.
After he stood beside her, she took a small breath of relief. At least she wouldn't have to fight these guys alone. Plus, if the police came, at least she had a witness to back her up. He had really pretty eyes, actually, Celeste quickly thought. He seemed like he could handle himself in a fight too, but now she definitely couldn’t do any type of body flare. She paused, waiting to see the reaction of the trio. She started charging her right arm, just in case they didn’t back down, the air around her arm sparkling. Would they seriously try to fight two mutants? Granted, she would have to be careful if she decided to release it – she noticed the snow around him, but wasn't entirely sure what he could do with that snow or other powers he might have.
The woman laughed, “Oh, what do we have here, a snowflake? Coming to save your little mutant, freak girlfriend? What’s your freak power? Little snowflakes?” she taunted towards Aiden. The other two guys began to turn their attention to Aiden as well. “Wow, you think you’re really something huh? You think you can take all of us?” the middle-aged man threatened. Celeste kind of nodded, thinking yes, he probably could. The middle aged guy was preparing to throw a punch towards Aiden but hadn’t quite made the swing yet.
Celestina had been doing a little site seeing through the big city after her shift at the diner. It was fairly embarrassing to be walking through the city with her diner uniform on still – old fashion, beep blue, button up, with a white little apron. She had to get a different job. She had never been in a city this large – granted, she had never left Regina before. This city was so huge. How would she ever figure out how to get around without the need for a map? It was pretty annoying trying to grab it out of her purse every few minutes to make sure she didn’t end up somewhere she wasn’t supposed to be.
The city was beautiful, albeit a bit dirty – well, a lot more dirty compared to Regina. She saw a subway entrance and took a long, hard stare at it. “It really can’t be that hard to learn how to use the subway. It’s just knowing which exit to get off at,” she whispered to herself, mounting anxiety at the thought of using the subway system. “But what if there is like… A mugger? Or if someone pushes me into the tracks? It would make getting around so much easier.” She shuddered at the thought of being cut into tiny pieces of Celeste bits by a train.
She snapped back to reality when a woman bumped hard into her shoulder. The woman muttered something that sounded fairly inappropriate. Celeste started walking then, occasionally taking a look at the map in her purse, wishing she had a smart phone again. Unfortunately, she quickly realized she had no idea where she was and began to slightly panic.
Turning a few streets, it was getting a bit late – around 6:30pm according to her watch. She knew it wouldn't be safe to stay out much later, especially considering she knew no one in this city. Heck, at this point she wasn’t even sure how she got lost, where she was at, or how time got away from her so fast. Stopping in front of a corner ice cream shop, she looked up at the name of the street. Then she tried to find it on her little map. She sighed and realized that she would have to spend money on a cab to get her back to her tiny bedroom, money she really didn't have right now.
She was muttering some obscenities under her mouth before she noticed a few people making a ruckus down the street. It looked like maybe a man in his 40s, another in his 50s, and the woman was maybe 40s-50s but Celestina couldn’t really tell. The little trio was staring directly at her, she stepped against the wall of the building taking a deep breath. Hopefully they were just making a bunch of noises because of being drunk and would just walk past her.
The trio stopped right in front of her. “Well, looky here,” the older man said directly to her. She could smell the alcohol on them. “You’re not from around here.” "No, I just moved here from Canada," she stated as confidently as she could - although, it came out pretty shaky. Being nervous, Celeste had already began to very slowly charge a flare, which let a little glisten off of her arms. Apparently, they weren’t drunken enough to not notice. The woman eyed her down, “Oh, we got one of them mutants here. You know, the world would be a lot better off without your kind. Always messing s*** up, blowing s*** up, you guys really are good for nothing. Do you know how much damage just one of you cause?” She spat it out, and spit near Celeste's shoes. The women shuffled her shirt a bit, making sure Celeste could see the gun in its holster on her side, “It’s a real shame they got rid of those camps for your kind. At least we had a little bit of peace while you guys were being rounded up.” Celeste gasped in shock, her eyes wide. She had heard about the Mutant Registration Act in the U.S. but didn't really pay much attention, at least at that time. Canada never passed a similar law, but the infamy of the law made waves into the Canadian media. She eyed the trio down, trying to quickly figure out what her best move would be.
Let me brainstorm some ideas (which Booker might be a good bet since Celeste tends to spend a lot of time in libraries, right now at least haha) and I'll PM you once I think of a potentially good one.
The guards buzzed Celestina in when she showed up at the front gate. She wasn't really sure what to say, so she was glad when they didn't seem to question her too much besides some basic questions. The first step was complete, at least - to not be denied entry. She bit her middle finger nail nervously as she started walking towards the mansions entrance. She debated on turning back. She was already in some culture shock from how different this country, this state was compared to Regina. Maybe starting a new school, specifically one to help her with her powers, was too much too fast.
She took a deep breath and looked over the mansion, "I wonder how many rooms this place has, 100? 92? 121? Probably more..." she quietly mumbled to herself. How many people lived here? Could this school really help her with her powers? Did the X-Men really live here? There was so many questions she wanted to ask. She took a deep breath, knowing that the answers would come as she became more familiar with the mansion and its inhabitants. "Patience," she whispers to herself, giving herself a mini prep talk as she walked along the sidewalk: "Everything is going to be fine, Celeste. This is a new beginning for you, a new start. You can't chicken out now. You've made it this far, you can't turn back now." She nodded her head to herself, determined.
Her mind quickly drifted back to her parents, back to her hometown of Regina. So much has changed. It felt like a lifetime ago that she lived in Regina with them and her sibling. Maybe in a different world, her parents would have embraced her mutation. Maybe they will eventually in this world too. Celestina wondered if they'd be proud of her for coming here to better herself, learn more about her powers, and finish her schooling so she can make a real, hopefully powerful impact on the world. Maybe they would be proud of her even with her mutation.
The mansion was beautiful. She noticed a large pool in the distance. She didn't know how to swim, so she made a mental note to avoid that area. She looked over the very well maintained landscape. The air smelled like cut grass. "It is such a beautiful place. The mansion, the landscape. I wonder if they use mutants with plant type powers to help maintain the lawn," she says quietly to herself, intrigued. She was a bit surprised she hadn't seen anyone outside. She glanced at her watch, realizing it was not quite lunch time yet. Probably still in class.
Stopping near the entrance to the mansion, she decided to take a moment to gather her thoughts before entering the building. She sat down on the edge of the curb and stared out across the expansive lawn. This was real. Her life was about to change forever. It was up to her to make the best of it. She took a deep breath, knowing that it was time to head inside. Either they'll accept her or they won't, and either way, she has a journey to begin.
My character was approved yesterday, I'm super happy to be able to get involved in RPing with y'all!
I've never RPed in a forum setting before so I'm looking for tips, suggestions, on how to get started. Or if anyone wants to start an RP up! My goal #1 is that I want Celeste to get enrolled in the school so she can finish up her schooling.
I was reading on the Idealists Guide to the X-Men that to join the school as a student, you just arrive at the mansion grounds or call ahead. I'm presuming this just means making a post in the Mansions ground on the forum? I feel like I'm ~overthinking~ some things, haha. >.< Sorry being such a newb.
