The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

"You haven't seen my kitties since we got them from the pet store. They're adorable and fluffy and cute and I'm sure they're just what you most need right now. Jolteon and Ninetails would love to see you again I'm sure." Lily grinned. "I would love too see them again." she nodded "Fluffy pets are always good for one's mood. I learned that from a girl who turns into a fox kit..." She helped a lot too, just with that. "You know, maybe I should get myself a puppy dog after all." she mused, licking ice cream off the spoon. She looked at Juka, and for the first time in a long while, there was a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Tell you what. I'll go visit Jolteon and Ninetails, if you fly me there." That bubble thing was really addictive. She had been waiting to ask that since she first tried.
Lily got dizzy again as they started moving - and together with that, she was still in better shape than Sam. And since now she was the one supporting him, she took a deep breath, and did so. The blonde woman joined them and bought them some time. Which Alex planned to use for retrieving video footage. Lily didn't ask. She could think of a number of reasons why it was important, and she trusted her teammates. ”Stairs aren’t my friend right now so, Jewel and I will make sure the exit is clear and safe once you guys make it back…” Lily leaned against the wall, still supporting Sam, saving her strength. At least the others were strong enough to finish this mission. With a little help, she would be too. "We'll be out of here in to time." she muttered to Sam, eyes half closed as she scanned their surroundings for traces of metal. She could sense Streak moving not so far from them. She really hoped they had enough time.
Labs?... "No, not really." Lily shook her head "Well, I mean, nothing worse than living in a camp for a month... it was... really bad." she sighed "I have... seen things I couldn't even imagine would happen in reality. But... no. As for me personally, I... got away unhurt." Physically, at least. Lily wondered how much she should tell the fox girl. Difficult past or not, she was still a kid, and in her opinion, kids didn't have to hear about things like that, if it could be avoided. "Many of my friends were hurt. Some of them really bad." she sighed, scratching the fox ears "The worst part is: we know it still could have been worse..."
"Now, if you wanted I'm sure we could come up with something to get kids into trouble. Or adults for that matter. So what do you say, go on an adventure for trouble and deviance?" Lily chuckled "I'm sure we could. But I have had enough trouble to last for a while." She didn't say it in a serious way; she just didn't feel like going on a Juka adventure just yet. Hanging out in a bedroom eating icecream was more like what she needed. "But" she mused "We could do something else together. Something that doesn't include trouble" she smiled "Sam promised me a vacation when I get home, and I think it's long overdue. Bottom line is, I have loads of free time..." Unless something comes up that makes the X-team get to work again...
Lily didn't doubt Juka would make friends sooner than later. The school was certainly a place where he was not the weirdest one, and it was good for Juka, being among people who accepted him as he was. Or Lily, for that matter. She wondered who the friends were. They didn't sound familiar. Then again, with those names they could have been anyone, really. "Sounds like you have been busy" she laughed "What, grown-ups go to work and the X-kids take the place apart?" she grinned "I hope you have been looking out for the kids, and not getting them into trouble." She smiled at him. Of course she was joking. Juka? Kids? Trouble?... Never.
"Of course there is room service." Lily muttered against his skin with a smirk "You can go and get me breakfast." That being the most comfortable option. For her, at least. She didn't move off him though; she was just teasing him, not ready yet to give up the warmth and the comfort and the feeling of his skin on hers. And the silver. There was always the silver. Lily hummed as she listened to his hearbeat, drifting off to sleep again. "... or you can stay. I don't mind if you stay." she murmured. She really didn't.
Lily waited patiently for Juka to get back with the ice cream. He seemed to enjoy floating around like that. And taking care of a friend. "Thank you" she smiled at him as she took the bowl "I feel better already." She clinked the bowl against Juka's with a grin, and started eating the ice cream. "So, let's start this again" she looked up "Have you been making new friends since you moved in?"
"Ok, ok so I did plan this out. So what? You don't seem to upset." Shawn admitted the plan, Lily admitted she bought it. "I am not upset." she smiled, nuzzling his neck gently. "Ok so I had the night planned but I didn't exactly have a plan for the next day." She chuckled, content with just lying on top of him for the moment. She knew they'd have to get out of bed eventually. Eventually being the keyword in the thought. "That's good, I don't have a plan either" she murmured, drifting back into half-sleep "And since I am new to all this, I dunno what I'm s'posed to plan either..."
"Yeah, like you didn't have everything planned" Lily grinned at him, resting her chin on his chest. "Admit it." She was feeling happy, just like that. The whole situation, all the feelings, were new to her, but Shawn, him she knew, and trusted. And probably more. "I am not complaining though" she muttered, moving to lie on top of him, comfortably snuggling close "I missed you." She did. And if she had any say in what was to come after this, she would make sure he doesn't ever stay away for this long again.
Lily chuckled and looked up at him, still sleepy. "I'm sorry." she muttered sheepishly "I guess you'll have to get used to it." She was really tempted, now that he was awake anyway, to keep playing though. He was holding her hand in place, but that didn't mean she couldn't tickle him wherever her skin touched his. She had never thought about using her powers for things like this before. She found it amusing. "Good morning, by the way." she smiled, kissing him on the cheek "So, does this make up for all the dancing you had to suffer through?"
"I'm glad you didn't come" Lily frowned "I'd have hated to see more of my friends get hurt." she sighed "But I appreciate it anyway." Juka offered to get icecream for her, and that made her smile; he was a good friend, trying everything to cheer her up. She knew it would be no use to refuse. "Icecream would be wonderful" she agreed, smiling "But only if you eat some too. I know I need to regain some weight, but not that much..."
It was late in the morning by the time Lily stirred and opened her eyes. Oh. She smiled to herself. So this is what he's got to do with my morning. She snuggled closer to Shawn, resting her head on his chest; she listened to the steady heartbeat, and closed her eyes again. Peaceful. Very peaceful. All the solitude and pain and all the worries of the past months, they were gone. She was herself again, and much more; things had changed, this time, for the better. She smiled to herself as she felt the silver under his skin; it was a much more powerful feeling now. Much closer too. It was something that made Shawn special. She doubted any guy could make her feel the way he did. That last thought made her blush. She ran her fingers across his chest lightly, content just to lie in bed and not planning on getting up just yet; her powers tugged on his silver on their own, before she realized it might be tickling him. Or might not. Anyway, he was right. This morning definitely turned out better than last time...
I should have done this sooner. Lily was lost in the kiss, and all the feelings it created in her; she was only vaguely aware that they were still standing in the hallway. She could feel Shawn's silver under his skin react to her powers as she tugged him closer, trying to remember what she was supposed to do next. She only remembered when her back hit a cold surface. Open the door. Right. Preferably before some student sees us making out in the hall. She pulled away from the kiss, looking into his silver eyes for a moment. She could feel her cheeks were warm, and she wondered if she was supposed to say something. Ask him if... Probably not. Whatever was going on was right the way it was, and there was no reason to pretend they didn't both know it. So she just smiled, fished the keys out of her purse, opened the door, and pulled him inside by the hand. The door closed on the rest of the world.
End of game. Curtains. Applause. Time to take the prize. Lily's arms found their wasyto his shoulders, and then around his neck; somewhere in the back of her mind this registered as a logical move, just in case he was planning on playing her too. She was not about to let him pull away or something. No way. That was one of the rare coherent thoughts she had while Shawn was kissing her. The rest was all kinds of feelings and sensations, her own heart racing and his silver tempting her senses. Lily sighed softly as she pulled herself closer to him. She though about this, a lot, back in Romania. It was one of the things she was clinging to, for hope. Right now, she couldn't remember why the heck she waited for so long after they came home. Right now, it felt right.
