The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

They never would have admitted it out loud, but Amp and Vibe were glad the she-wolf had shifted targets. Not that Kaz gave her much choice, but they still were relieved to be out of the line of fire for a few moments.
Amp kept up the sound barrier just to be safe, since the pair was effectively grounded. But despite their injuries their inherited stubborn streak showed through. They watched both battles closely, looking for a chance to tip the scales in their group's favor. Considering the scales were already uneven, to put it mildly, perhaps a better term would be, 'looking for a way to destroy the scales completely'.
And their chance came rather quickly, and unexpectedly. In sync, the girls watched as the she-wolf sent Kaz sailing into the air, and followed his path. When he hit the police car, both girls cringed and grinned.
>"Oooohh, that had to hurt,"< they chorused. >Ten bucks says he tosses it back,< Vibe added, holding out her hand. Amp shook it, grimacing a bit. "I say he shreds it."
She pouted when, sure enough, the car was sent flying through the air. But her pout quickly disappeared as the lupine leapt out of the way. Suddenly the Twins were in the direct path.
>Aiiee!< Vibe refelxively squealed. Amp let go of her sister, and fell on her rear on the ground. But even sitting down she could attack at full power. She put all of the force of the sound shield into another concussion blast. The attack crushed the car even further, and altered its path.
The girls' eyes widened a bit. They were sure whether to be happy or apprehensive as the hunk of battered metal was now headed directly for the group on the steps; namely Oppressor, Syn, Abyss, Tricity, Deathstar and the still-limp Fade.
>Oooh..... Don't think Syn's going to appreciate that....<
If anyone had time to glance in the girls' direction, they'd see the pair pointing at the fighters.

Sarrus never noticed the two living human's that jumped out of the car. He just wanted to see the wolf hurt. When she dodged he snarled, not even seeing that the car was heading towards the twins. He did notice a 'thwap thwap thwap' sound coming from the air. Taking a quick look around he saw a helicopter in the air about a block away and who knows how many feet in the air. Adding it's noise with the pounding in his head Sarrus wanted it gone. A quick look at the ground, he found a slender piece of metal that must have come off the car when he crushed it. Gripping it, he threw the metal as hard as he could like a javelin at the helicopter. The thing went wild as the piece of metal went right through the pilot and into the motor, killing both. That made Sarrus feel a lot better.
He turned around to see Emerald bull rushing him. Sarrus waited for the last moment before he side stepped her and grabbed her with both of his large arms. He used her force to begin a spin, which he added more force and speed to. Sarrus let out a blood curdling roar as he let the wolfbeast go, sailing right into the second van. Which also happened to be the one that was making that damnable noise.
The Lupine howled in pain as she was thrown into the Van. She Smashed the car, leaving a rather large hole in the side. THe Lupine had twisted scraped her paw pretty badly., blood flowing from in openly.
She lifted her head with a groan, noticing a telephone booth close by her. She growled and then looked over to Sarrus.
"Dont...Kill....Innocents....Monster..." The Beast snarled. She ripped the Telephone booth up, hurling it at the creature.

((ooc: Sorry; these keep getting long...))
Watching the Fox News ‘copter go down did not help Rupert’s hysterical laughter. He could just picture the look on his Captain’s face back at the precinct when their video feed cut out. It would be an ‘I told you so’ look, but with a lot more yelling.
Officer Delray was looking at him now, holding that stupid busted camera of his like it was the most precious thing in the world. “It’s broken. How do we take pictures with a broken camera?” He asked softly. “I don’t even know why it’s broken. It looks all right, doesn’t it? Do you know IT’s number?”
IT’s number. Telephone. Rupert stopped laughing, and started patting down his suit jacket. Phone. Cell phone. Right there; in the inner pocket. He pulled it out and hit his first speed dial number.
“Captain Myers. This better be good news.” An aggravated female voice answered him. In the background, he heard the distinct noise of a Fox News anchor caught between sorrow and utter elation at the ratings they’d be getting. It was a little sickening. “Ramsey! Put that damn thing back on mute! Hello, speak to me. I’m a busy woman.”
“…Hi, Captain.”
He heard something very close to a hiss. “Detective Kelley. You had better be at your damn apartment, not at that barricade. Because if you’re asking for permission to go in—”
“We went in. Hook and James and I.”
“—I am personally going to—What?”
“We’re at KP.” Rupert said. “Kurt is dead. I’m with James in an alleyway. Dead end.”
There was a very long silence. He could picture Cynthia close her eyes and count to ten. Eleven. Twenty. “I’m sorry, Rupert.” She finally said, too softly.
“I know.”
“I can’t risk sending anyone in after you.” He could actually hear the years that got taken off of her life as she forced those words out of her mouth.
“I know.” He looked back out at the battle, and watched the werewolf and the monster keep trying to kill each other. “Listen, we’re going to watch for a chance, and make a break for it. They’re pretty focused on one another—we’ll make it out. I just wanted to say you’re a damn good Captain. If you’d been in charge during the Sanctuary massacre, a lot of lives would have been saved.” He shut up before he started sounding too fatalistic, and looked over at James. “Delray, you got anything to say?”
“It’s broken. I don’t know why it’s broken.”
“…He says to send his love to his wife.” He could hear people pestering her with pressing questions, and the almost painful sound of her own breathing. “I’ll call you once we’re on the other side of the barricade.”
“You damn well better, Rup. I’ll be waiting.”
He flipped the phone closed, and carefully tucked it back into his pocket. Then he started actually paying attention to what was going on in front of KP. That wolf woman—that might be their chance. The way she’d handled Hook’s body… that was something. He was willing to latch on to anything right now.

Daria took the hit on contact and rolled to the floor alongside Isabel aware that the girl was much too smart to fall for that. She Jumped to her feet to dodge the ankle swipe and leaned to dodge the neck swipe but leaned back in too fast and took a rather deep scratch to her face. She cursed under her breath and grabbed at her face.
"give this up." she hissed and swiped out with a hand, she did it on purpose and then faked into a high kick to isabel's chest or, if she backed up, her stomach.
Isabel took the opportunity to put some distance between herself and Daria as the woman was caught with the tip of her sword and was distracted by the deep slash to the face. She hadn't missed the arrival of the police. Their squad cars were normally spotted pretty quickly as it was, but theirs had been thrown through the air as well. That had been a little eye-catching to say the least. Isabel wouldn't have liked anything more than to go and say hello to the two men that had escaped from the car. It was so tempting. She could just see one man with a camera looking like he was trying to fix it, and she would have loved to offer her assistance in its repairs. But unfortunately she was a little preoccupied at the moment.
She gave Daria an amused grin as the woman demanded that she just give up. True, she was bleeding and her wounds hurt like hell, not to mention that she was beginning to get tired, but Isabel was just too damn stubborn to give up a fight while she could still throw some punches. "Sorry, not gonna happen," she replied evenly, her grin fading into a look of concentration as Daria moved once again. Apparently Isabel wasn't the only one who was a slow learner. She would have though the woman would be a little more cautious of the spines, but she just kept at it. She took a step back as the woman swiped out a clawed hand, but took the brunt of the kick to her stomach, thankful for both the armor and the spikes. Her abdomen was still sore from Emerald's earlier attack and there was no doubt in her mind that a second, unobstructed kick would only have hindered her performance in the fight much more severely.
The force of Daria's strike sent her stumbling back to the ground a second time and even managed to get her to tumble head-over-heels once before her body came to rest. Once again Isabel scrambled to her feet as quickly as possible. At least her little tumble had spaced her and her combatant to much more comfortable distances. Straightening her posture and moving to dust off her outfit, she watched Daria with a seemingly unconcerned air, putting on a little show of indifference for the woman. Turning to face her, the spines that covered the front of Isabel's body started to lengthen once again, hardening to the approximate density of condensed steel to ensure they wouldn't be broken in two by any of the woman's attacks. With barely another movement the lengthened spines shot out of her body, all heading at dangerous speeds toward the feline, each and every one quickly replaced by a new set as Isabel watched.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.

“You gentlemen lose your way?” The big mutie standing at the entrance to their alleyway jested.
James finally focused on something besides the stupid camera. “Look, Rup.” He said a little too happily. “It’s Red.” Officer Delray had many long sessions with the police therapists ahead of him, when they got out of this. The young officer was starting to sound like an elementary school kid.
Oh the bright side, it was Red. Rupert had to be forgiven for not exactly noticing that the big mutie was here, what with their mad exit from the car and the poor view of the fight they had from their alleyway. Red—or should he say the Reds?—was and/or were an office favorite; they’d never hurt a cop, that anyone knew of. It actually seemed like they tried to avoid confrontations with the NYPD. Rupert’s gun was holstered. He made sure to keep his hands out to his sides where the large mutie could see them, much as the red guy himself was doing. “Our car broke down,” he answered simply, trying and failing miserably to force some sort of mock-cheerfulness into his voice. Now that he was past his hysterical phase, this situation was looking less and less amusing. Go figure.
((ooc: Rupert’s supposed to follow Emmy when she runs from the fight, so he can’t leave just yet... Shall we draw this out a little?))

Rupert listened to the big mutant speaking about these “X-Men”, and unconsciously began reaching into his suit coat. He caught himself abruptly, and opened his jacket—showing his gun, yes, but also showing that he wasn’t reaching for it. He pulled a little notepad and pen out from an inner pocket, and let the jacket flop closed as he chicken-scratched out what the mutie was saying. Why was he taking notes in the middle of a battle field? Force of habit, maybe. At least it was better than trying to fix a stupid camera. “So these X-Men, do you know anything about them? Names, where they live, who commands them?” The name made them sound like some sort of organization. Rupert ran with it—the red guy could always laugh in his face if he was wrong. “And you and those people who are, err, trying to stop them—do you work here?” He fished.
"sorry about your car, it seems the chaos is burning a bit brighter then usual. not to pry but, if I were you gentle men I would have phoned for back up, did you happen to?"
Oh, that was funny. That was very funny. In fact, it almost sent Rupert off laughing again. Back up? Yes, that would be nice. But the Captain was in the right to leave them stranded. Rupert wouldn’t have done the same thing in her shoes, but Rupert probably would have gotten half of the police force killed if he were in her shoes, so it all evened out. He managed to keep a lid on it. “I hate to disappoint you, Sir, but it’s just us three. Two,” he corrected, losing the urge to laugh. He motioned out towards the main street. “Have you noticed the stunning lack of gawkers? We’re trying a new approach: keeping down the casualties.” Those of them that didn’t have latent suicidal urges, at least. Another thing Cynthia was right about: he should have just gone back to his apartment. It was strange, but he actually couldn’t remember what the Hell he had been thinking. He really couldn’t.
Nail had pretty much been completely avoided and ignored to settle the cat fight that was going on between Miss Feline and Bone Girl. He backed away and watched as they both sustained injuries, one clawing and jumping about the place, the other playing a kind of defense and slashing with her boney sword. His attention was split between jumping in again, and watching as the beasts’ dooked it out. A helicopter had already been taken out, as well as a police car. There were far too many things going on for him to handle. All he knew was he had to stay out of the way for the big monsters, and try to stop as much of this fight as possible.
When the girl with the bow was knocked back however and stood again, he saw his chance. He dove between them once more and faced Daria. He took a solid stance and focused on the cat girl. The diamond on his forearms began to grow and reshape, but as this happened, Nail stumbled forward as this force of this flying spikes his him. He did not bother to look behind him, though he did grimaced slightly. Every spike had been deflected, unable to penetrate the hard diamond armor that so snuggly formed to his body. He took up his low, stable stance once again, too focused on the fast girl turn around.
"I've fought fast people before lady..."
Of course he was referring to Kaz. The fact that he had not won a single fight against Kaz was a truth he'd rather not share, and refused to acknowledge in the situation. His forearms had now become small, sharp, circular disks, and he lacked hands now. That wasn't important to him though. Before anything else could happen, he made sure he was the one to start this fight. Hopefully that way he could become her main target. Nail slid his front foot forward, and crystal quickly flooded out of it like a wave across the ground, much like he had done previously when he was fighting the invisible person. Again it was spiky. If she didn't dodge it, her feet would be encased in the ground. He knew that wouldn't happen though. He had watched her teleport. He just wanted a surface that could slow her down a little.
>Yeah. Think he could juggle two or three of those?<
"Dunno. Remind me to ask him later."
Vibe snickered silently at the mental image of Abyss tossing cars into the air like bowling pins. Somehow, it just seemed hilarious at the moment, though it probably wasn't.
Her eyes wandered the battle field. Despite the chaos around them, and their own generally poor condition, the girls were becoming bored again. Suddenly her eyes landed on one of the Abysses disappearing around a corner. She nudged Amp.
>Hey, check it out. Wonder what he's doing?<
"Follow him and find out."
>You gonna be okay? Can you walk?<
Amp shook her head. "Nah, don't think so. Don't worry, I'll be fine. I think everyone else is preoccupied anyway. Go see what he's up to."
Vibe nodded. >'kay, be right back. Don't move.<
"Uh, yeah, like I have a choice? Dumbbell."
>Well, I thought all that hot air would make you float away, Airhead.<
Vibe carefully made her way away from the fighting, toward where Abyss had disappeared. As she drew closer, she could feel the vibrations that meant people talking. When she was in range to hear the actual words, she paused. Apparently two badges had survived the car wreck.
She was too far from Amp to 'talk' to her, a fact that suddenly made her nervous, so once she felt she'd overheard enough, she quickly made her way back to her sister. Incedently, the shorter-haired redhead also looked a bit uneasy until Vibe returned. As Vibe quickly translated the conversation, a devilish look spread across Amp's face. Vibe mirrored it.
"You thinkin' what I'm thinkin'?"
>You bet I am. Think you can project that far?<
"I've got to get a bit closer, but that shouldn't be a problem. Then we can go 'exploring' inside."
>My thoughts exactly.<
"C'mon, help me up."
With Vibe's support, Amp hobbled across the lot. They stopped about twenty feet from the alleyway. Amp glanced back over her shoulder, then closed her eyes. She projected her voice through the air, and directed it toward Abyss. The result would be that he would hear her whispering to him. A mutant with sensitive hearing would probably be able to hear, but a normal human would only hear, maybe, a slight hum.
"Psst! Abyss. We heard what you said about the Xmen attacking us. If your officer friend needs any... shall we say... proof, that we are the innocents here, Vibe and I are about to head inside. And you know, we got beat up pretty badly, because of those Xpeople. If you catch our meaning... I think the cops need to know that, don't you?" There was no mistaking the deviousness in her voice or words.
To back them up, the pair slowly began making their way back to the main entrance. And, like the imps they were, they made a big show of how much pain they were in, with a few groans and moans thrown in for good measure. The fact that Vibe was bleeding quite a bit, and Amp really couldn't walk on her own helped add a bit of realism to the act. Of course, it was all for the policemen's benefit; the Twins doubted that in the Order would have bought it.
But, as the girls were so fond of saying....
>"And we care.... why?"<
(OOC: See y'all at the beginning of next week. Have fun!)

Everything was red. Sarrus was having a hard time seeing anything. Everything was blurry and bouncing. His head was throbbing. Was it from the noise the panther-woman had started up? Maybe. Maybe it was due to his shifting so many times today, or shifting violently and against his will. Maybe Tricity's electrical blast really did connect somehow, maybe that mind mutant had gotten to him. The possibilities seemed endless.
"Dont...Kill....Innocents....Monster..." Despite feeling like hell, Sarrus couldn't help but laugh. "No one's innocent mutt. Besides, how do you determine who's innocent and who's not? Are you god? You Xmen sure seem to think you are." Sarrus quirked his eyebrow, "I dunno who you're calling a monster, but have you looked in the mirror?" Sarrus moved toward Emerald. His leg shook and his vision went blurry. When it focused there was a telephone booth flying at him. His large right arm shot up to intercept it, his leg went back to brace himself. Whatever was going on just through Sarrus through a loop. He cut a good portion of the booth's power off, but he couldn't stop it.
Sarrus got hit, his face and upper torso solidly connected with the damn thing. He was thrown back a few feet, but he pushed the booth away, where it landed he didn't know. Sarrus was face down in the mud as he tried to push himself up. All four arms wobbled at the effort, one leg wouldn't listen to him. <WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING TO ME?!> Sarrus screamed in his head.
The beast snarled darkly at Sarrus, tail lashing back and forth. A satified smirk crept across her face when the telephone booth hit the target.
She walked up to the male slowly, delibertly, Her jowels watering. She kept herself in control as her mind formulated a speech of her own.
"We X men do not think we are god, I think we should ask the same about you. Humans and Mutants can peacefully co exisit, hell they can get married if they want to. But you order members are just making everything harder, you capture some of our mutants, do who knows what to them and then expect us to not want to fight you? Who sounds more intellegent? " The Wolfess growled.
"And Im not a monster, compared to you, I look like a normal fun loving werewolf. But then again Im not am I?" Emerald asked, tilting her head to the side like a curious dog before rushing towards Kaz, intending to latch her jaws onto his collarbone, breaking it. If she did after her mouth would be filled with blood she would spit some out and say.

Despite feeling weak and unable to pick himself up, Sarrus laughed at the girl. "Ha, who ever said anything about not coexisting with humans? I didn't hear such thing. You're assuming again, like you Xmen always do. You have no clue what happened in there, if anything, yet again you ASSUME you do and assume the worst. Barge in here and pick a fight. If you all weren't so damned stubborn and high and mighty, and would listen to words, instead of the blood lust in your head, this could have been solved peacefully." Sarrus coughed. "More intelligent? Not you people. You're outnumbered, and out-gunned. You've been given multiple chances to pull out and stop this fight, but your 'GREAT LEADER' is too hard headed, and you all cowards and brain dead to think for yourself or say anything."
Sarrus' rage had all but gone out. He didn't even try to resist when Emerald rushed him. As soon as she clamped down, his eyes began to roll back as blackness began to fill his vision. Due to how large his chest was, her maw couldn't get enough strength to break his collar bone, but she was cutting off his air and the blood flow to his brain, as he was quickly blacking out. A soft word came from him, "Pathetic." He used the last moments of consciousness to grab the two daggers in his belt with his small arms and thrust them at Emerald who's body was nearly pressing against his.
He didn't know if the blades sunk in, if she made any noise. He didn't even know if he hit the ground. He was out.....for now.
Emerald pulled away from him, opening her jaw up from his neck. The Knive's stabbed both of her shoulder's, sticking in. She howled in pain, growling at him lowly.
The Lupine pulled away from him, backing away on all fours. "If we are so pathetic then how did I beat you and the Sonic sisters? "Oceanwolf growled, blood flowing from her jaw. She felt her body shifting a bit, realizing the haywire substance was wearing off.
The Lupine growled, not wanting the Tv Camera's to see her change back into human form. She was sure Tricity would understand if she fled the battle, besides once she turned back into human form she would be useless.
Emerald spat on the ground next to Kaz before she ran on all four's off to the side. 'I gotta get out of here' She thought to herself. 'the last thing the X men need is more bad publicity.'
The wolf woman darted through alleway's and ran to a place were it would be easier for her to change back. She jumped clear over the Sonic sister's on her way to her escape root, giving them a growl, before darting into the darkness like a redish black blurr.
"Great..." Amp grumbled slightly as they spotted the she wolf headed in their direction. As much as they would have loved to send another attack her way, it wouldn't have fit in to their 'wounded' act very well. Instead they took a step back.
That is, Vibe took a step back. Amp attempted to do the same, and put pressure on her foot. It actually was an accident on her part, but her ankle gave out, and she lost her balance. Vibe reflexively tried to catch her, but they both ended up on their backs as the she wolf shot overhead. For a moment they just lay there, surprise evident on their features. They sat up, and Vibe rubbed the back of her head.
>If anyone asks later, we faked that fall. Agreed?<
"Agreed," Amp grunted. The pair picked themselves up and again began hobbling toward the building. This time, however, they kept their eyes open for anymore flying, or furred, objects headed in their direction.
