The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Daria, had she been in her right mind, would've been terribly torn between the battles. Whether to go after isabel who was an amazingly good opponent, or to help Emerald, knowing that physically they were no match for the twins.
However Daria wasn't in her right mind at all, and if Emerald were in any serious trouble, she didn't notice it yet. Her mind was on Isabel's who's attack as a distraction didn't work. Daria lunged forward, her claws outstretched and aimed to knock Isabel over, if she succeeded her attack would be terribly marring if not deadly. She was still ready to veer off her trail if Isabel tried anything.
Isabel gave a slight grin as the twins put a little twist into her attack upon Emerald, pleased that the lupine was down for the time being which would allow the twins a minute to catch their breath. She gave a short nod in response to the thumbs up she got. Now the wolf would be less of a problem to worry about, even if it was only briefly, which suited Isabel just fine.
Her full attention snapped immediately over to Daria as she caught a flash of movement out of the corner of her vision. Her eyes widened slightly at the sight of the woman coming straight at her with claws bared and aiming for Isabel's flesh. Quickly she took a few quick steps back, trying to put a little distance between herself and the oncoming feline, her favored bone sword growing from her palm once again to use as an offensive move well as spines jutting out all over the front of her person to serve as a defense against Daria's attack. As the distance between the two closed, she brought a knee up, hoping to catch the woman in her already bleeding stomach with a few of the spines sticking from her skin as well as slashing at her neck with the sword.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.
Nail felt a strange sensation, like the outer armor he was wearing was vibrating, or humming slightely. He felt this first, befor the headache set in. Nail pushed his palms infto his forhead, groaning with the sudden pain that manifested in his head. He was glad it had ended so quickly. When he recoved and saw that the fights where still taking place, he prepared himself. The ravenous wolf had shifted its attack towards the twins, and Nail had only just now realised that the cat lady in the tree was preparing to pounce on bone girl.
"This is rediculous!"
Nail ran befor Daria pounced. If he hadn't he wouldn't have gotten in front of Isabel in time. He dived forward infront of Isabel, and rolled into a kneeling position. It was amazing how well fitted his little diamond suit of armor was. He could still move perfectly with little to no hinderence in his movements. As the feline shot forward, Nail extended both his arms, and from out of his open hands, and large, smooth, circular shield composed of diamond formed. As the cat woman colided with it, he would roll backwards and push up, sending darias momentum up into the air. Hopefuly this would knock her far enough off of her trajectory to keep either Isabel or Daria from getting a harmful attack on eachother.
Amp coughed, still breathing heavily. Vibe knelt by her side.
>You gonna be okay?<
"I'll survive," was the growled answer. She put an arm over her shoulder to help her sister up, but Amp paused and looked up in alarm. "You're bleeding!" Indeed, a nasty set of gashes could be seen through the tears in Vibe's shirt, on her back. Vibe twisted to look. She'd been so occupied she hadn't even noticed up to that point. Even though she couldn't actually see them, she felt the sting. The cuts weren't fatal or life-threatening, but they stung worse than a major burn would have.
>Yeah, well, looks like Fido didn't come out if untouched either.< A please smirk graced their faces when they saw the wolf-girl was bleeding as well. She also seemed hesitant to continue the battle.
>Now's the perfect time to finish her off.<
"Yeah, but I'm not keen to get up close and personal anymore." Amp replied in a low voice. "And the Shriek just seems to make her madder."
>Yeah, but I'll bet her ears are ringing something fierce right now.<
Amp merely grunted. She got to her feet, arm holding her side, and grimacing as she did. Her ribs were killing her, and she couldn't put any pressure on her ankle. Truth be told, if the lupine made another attack like the last one, the girls would be out of the game. Permanently.
(OOC: Sorry, having writer's block issues. Not sure where to go at this point. lol)

A strange sensation washed over Kaz as he stood holding the quills. His head felt...odd. *THUMP* Kaz blinked hard and fast for a moment *THUMP THUMP* The quills fell from his grasp as he reached up and grabbed his head, palm pressing on the bone just above his eye. *THUMP THUMPTHUMPTHUMP!* Kaz gripped his head with both hands and began to press on his temples. A beast-like growl began to emanate from his throat. His vision went red, he was gripping his head so hard he tore some skin above his eye and blood began to flow down his face.
Kaz's knees threatened to buckle with every throb of his head. All at once he fell to one knee, hi arms on the ground trying to support him. His body went into convulsions. His maw began to elongate, fangs and incredibly sharp teeth replaced his dull human teeth. Arms bulged, hands enlarged, legs twisted. In a matter of moments he was forced into his second form. Instead of a piercing howl, Kaz sounded like he was trying to cough up something lodged in his throat.
Kaz was still kneeling on the ground for long moments, open and vulnerable, barely conscious of what was going on around him. It wasn't until the wolf girl had attacked Amp and Vibe with extreme violence that Kaz seemed to snap out of it and back to reality. The bleeding on his head had stopped, but he still was seeing red. Kaz still did not act immediately, he was trying to fight himself, to gain control over the rage and blood lust.
Kaz lost.
The instinctive id of Sarrus had taken over, filling Kaz through and through. He could smell the blood coming from the wolf and Vibe, though the wolf smelled so tasty. Emerald's howl drove Kaz to act. She was distracted and watching the twins with her full attention. Using his hands and feet, Kaz sprinted on all fours straight at the wolf. All snarling and growling had stopped from Kaz as he rushed the werewolf's back. Leaping up just enough to line himself up with Emerald's back, the only warning was the feral growl/howl/snarl that came from Kaz just before he would land on her back.
If he landed, whether on her back like he intended, or her side or front, if she turned around fast enough, he would latch on with his legs, grip her with his large hands, digging his claws into her flesh, use his smaller arms to wrap around her throat, and bit at her the area between her neck and shoulders.
Syn was still waiting for Tricity to try blasting Dorian with her electricity when she started to feel a strange pain in her head. It was almost like a headache but it came on much faster She didn't knwo where it came from or what caused it but she had a feeling it was something the X-Men were doing and so she fought against it.
The girl thought she was beginning to fight whatever was causing the headache when it stopped and she saw the twins go after another of the X-men. Had they found the culprit? She hoped so for the rest of the teams' sake. Syn briefly watched the on going battle behind Tricity before refocusing on the woman. "Make your move if you dare, but before you do think about this. If you fire your electricity then you risk hitting your precious teammate and I'm sure you don't want that on your conscience, and if you try to blast me then you're in for a world of hurt. You see, you already used your power on me once and that trick won't work a second time."
The Lupine shuddered when the new scent came into the air as Kaz began to transform. She sensed that something was going to happen but she didnt quite know what. Though she mantained her focus on Amp and Vibe she listened in wait.
When she heard the snarling and growling begin she prepared for immediate action. When the male lunged and was close to hitting her back, she bolted fowards. If he didnt have the right balance he would stumble to the ground, but if he did he would most likely still be in fighting stance.
But the wolf girl did not take these things into cosideration as she whipped around for an attack, her clawed paw slashing at his face, with Lupine agility.

((ooc: If anyone minds this post, just tell me—I can modify/delete it. I put it here 'cause it seemed like a better place than having it floating on its own thread.))
At the NYPD: Central Park Precinct
Detective Rupert Kelley arrived at the station in a graceless, panting manner. His hole-in-the-wall apartment was four blocks from the station. That was a long way, for a guy with a lump of scar tissue in his lung. The Captain in charge of the Mutant and Mutant-Related Crimes Task Force glowered up at him as he wheezed against the wall. “Detective Kelley. Do the words ‘on suspension’ mean anything to you?” Fortunately for him, her attention immediately snapped back to the phone in her hand. Besides, they both knew that he’d have his badge back by the end of the week. All he’d done was shoot a mutant.
“I’m familiar with the First Amendment, Mister Brown.” Captain Cynthia Myers icily spoke to the unfortunate soul on the other end of the line. “The First Amendment gives me the right to impound all your copters and make sure your pilots lose their licenses. Do you understand how much of a target you’re making yourself? I don’t care if you’re maintaining your distance. I want that helicopter out of the sky in five minutes. I’ll be watching. Good day, Mister Brown.” She slammed down the phone, and eloquently said, “Fucking Fox News.” On a small television behind her, the news story that had brought Rupert running was playing out with the mute button hit. “Detective Kelley,” she began again, with a stare that could freeze over Hell itself. Brrrring. She turned her glare to the phone. “Hello, Captain Myers speaking. Who’s this? Captain Barry, hallelujah. Listen, I’m trying to coordinate the precincts—”
Rupert took his first real look at the chaos that surrounded them. The station looked like a hornet’s nest under attack by an ant colony. The little TV was showing the cause, courtesy of Fox News and their reporter’s lack of a survival instinct: a full-out mutant brawl in the middle of the city. The camera was too far away to show the combatants as more than specks on the screen, but it was clear there were over a dozen muties involved. They hadn’t seen a mutant incident this large since the Sanctuary police massacre.
Rupert was having a little trouble catching his breath. He’d put the TV on for white noise while he’d cooked lunch. He remembered that. He wasn’t too clear on the span of time between his apartment and the station. Had he turned off the stove? More importantly: did he care if his apartment burned down, right now? No, he really didn’t. He tuned back out of his head and into the real world as Captain Cynthia dropped the phone back down, took a deep breath, let out a deep breath, and glared at him in a somewhat less smoldering manner than before. “Like I told your partner, Rup: go home. I don’t have any use for an officer that hasn’t got a badge.”
He straightened himself up. “If we’re going in—”
She cut him off. “We’re not. Remember the Sanctuary, Rup? Police are nothing but moving targets. I’m giving the muties a three-block radius on all sides. We’ve almost got the area evacuated, except for the people in King Pharmaceuticals. We can’t get to them, and they aren’t answering their phones.” She angrily batted a loose strand of hair out of her eyes. “With any luck, they’ve barricaded themselves into some little tucked-away room. We don’t know what these things want at KP, but I can’t imagine it’s the employees.” She took another of those deep breaths, and let it out again: Rupert recognized the move from the anger management class the force was making them both take.
Rupert absentmindedly massaged the scar on his chest, where a pretty little mutie with a ribbon in her hair had nearly killed him a few months ago, over at the Sanctuary. “So we’re not doing anything?”
“Detective Kelley—” Cynthia closed her eyes, and very clearly counted to ten before opening them again. “Detective Kelley. You of all people should know that we’re not equipped to deal with this. As long as they’re fighting each other, their threat is relatively minimal. Go make yourself useful—put a pot of coffee on. We’re going to be here awhile.” Brrring. “Captain Myers here, talk to me. So the SWAT teams are all in position? Lucas, I love you. Remember: do not engage unless they turn on civilians. Just maintain the barricade at three blocks. I don't want any civillians wandering into there. Heh. No, not even the reporters deserve that. If the muties run? Hell, let them pass. I don’t want to see any cops in body bags today, you hear me? Take care of yourself, hon.” The phone had barely touched its base when it rang again. “Captain Meyers; this better be important. Oh, Captain Barry. Ack. No, the Chief’s off in Cinci-freaking-nnati for his anniversary. No, he didn’t leave me in charge. His cell is turned off; I left a message at his hotel for him. Listen, don’t sweat it—I’ll take the flack when he gets back. Unless you want to coordinate this crap? Didn’t think so. Your boys in position yet?”
Rupert listened in for a moment more, his hands balled into fists. So no, they weren’t doing anything. They were just sitting back and letting those mutants have a gang war in the middle of their city. He took a deep breath, and let it out. If the mutants ran, just let them go, was it? They wouldn't even try to pursue them? He slowly counted to ten.
Then he went to put on that pot of coffee. She was right, as much as he hated to admit it: if they could just avoid anymore cops in body bags today, they would have done better than anyone could have hoped.
On the TV behind the Captain, the helicopter started winging in a wide circle away from the scene.

Daria was impressed with the woman's quick thinking and imagined that her own demonstrated increased speed would come as a sloght shock. She was fast enough outside of a frenzy but now she had reached speeds that could almost Rival kaz, but not quite.
She brought her arm down on the 'sword' with a calculated martial arts move, snapping it too short to cause harm. She then landed just in front of Isabel for such a short amount of time, her abdomen curved dangerously around the girl's knee, almost teasing her. She was inches from her face as she grinned showing her fangs. Then in less than a couple of seconds she leaned back and lashed out with her forearm in another attempt to whack Isabel down to the ground. She knew touching the girl was a dangerous move but in the fashion that she hit Isabel, she'd knock her down even if she was stabbed and they would both suffer injuries. She ook the risk, she just wanted the girl down.
Isabel looked down in confusion as some boy jumped between herself and Daria. She didn't know the kid, nor did she know which side he was supporting, but he looked vaguely familiar. As the diamond shield formed, it clicked in her mind. He was one of the two mutants that had been held inside of KP for experimentation with Haywire. But if that were who he was, then why was he assisting her? It didn't seem to make any sense. She took another step or two away from him, putting herself at a more comfortable distance from the stranger. She didn't know him and she didn't know his motives and therefore she didn't trust him.
However, it seemed that his attempts were in vain as Daria quickly got right up in Isabel's face. She cursed mentally as once again her weapon was broken, though it grew its tip back almost immediately, growing even harder as its density increased to prevent it from being broken a second time. She scowled at Daria's fang-glinting grin. Quickly she sprouted spines over the rest of her body instead of only her front half, not wanting to take any chances with the teleporter, who seemed to be a bit out of her mind, as the lupine was, though to a lesser extent. As Daria's abdomen stopped mere inches from her intended attack, the spines on her knee lengthened even more, itching to reach their target and draw more blood.
As Daria struck out at her again, Isabel attempted to dodge, but the woman was just so damn close that it made the attempt very difficult. The woman's attack did connect, catching Isabel in the ribs, though not before she felt a spattering of blood on her outfit as pressure was applied to her razor sharp spines. Daria couldn't possibly have hit her without injuring herself in the process. But none the less the momentum was enough to send Isabel stumbling off to the side, tripping and falling on her backside before she immediately tried scrambling to her feet once again. The last thing she would do would be to stay on the ground, especially since that seemed to be what Daria wanted from her. She slashed at the woman's ankles as she scrambled to her feet before making a vertical slash up toward Daria's neck and face.
I’m just a well-adjusted gal who likes to leave a serious amount of mayhem in her wake.

The wolf-girl moved forward just before Kaz would hit her. His legs were already under him as he hit the ground. Immediately Kaz bounded forward towards the girl, right into her slashing claws. She scored two quick hits on his face as she swung wildly. The smaller pair of hands moved quickly to grab the girl's clawed paws slashed at him, attempting to grab her wrists and stop their wild movements.
Kaz's feet were in front of him when he bound at her, his large hands went to reach around the girl and sink their claws into her flesh as they grabbed hold of her back and torso. If he hit her right, his feet would be on her lower torso, as his back was extremely hunched at the moment, and would attempt to rake their claws on her, attempting to rip her open. Kaz crashed right into Emerald and sent the two rolling away from the twins. Kaz was constantly attempting to get his maw around Emerald's flesh, either her neck or between her neck and shoulder. Kaz's face would bleeding above his left eye and along the right side of his face were four long gashes, all from Emerald's attack.
The beast struggled with Kaz, his 'hands' restaining her wildly slashing paws. But his other hands did not hit her lower torso instead it hit her upper torso due to her struggling. The claws hand managed to latch into Emerald's shoulder.
She snarled and then her own mind brewed an idea. She attempts to latch her razor sharp maw onto of his own and bit down hard, for if she caught it she would penetrate skin.
The Wolfess Raked her foot paws upwards, those also having claws on them. Attacking the males underbelly with a full force kick.

Sarrus had effectively stopped the threat from the beast's paws, he couldn't get a good grip with one of his large hands in the quick tussle between the two, but his other got a fairly good grip onto her shoulder. The claws from that hand sunk in and pressed hard, he wanted to be able to rip her arm off easily.
Sarrus felt a sharp pain in his jaw as Emerald bit down on his lower jaw. Growling, Sarrus did the same. His wasn't as long as hers, but because it was shorter, force was more concentrated. His blood flowed freely from his lower jaw, as he felt Emerald's blood flow from her upper jaw. If someone wasn't weirded out or thinking in a different frame of mind, this mutual biting of jaws would look like an odd kiss between two raging, feral beasts.
He never did get his feet onto the wolf girl's lower torso, instead she had beaten him too it when they rolled. She began to rake at him as he was now above her. With a hard roll and her kick, Sarrus was sent flying.
Sirens were blaring, the sound of a cruiser stopped as it parked right on the grounds of KP. The policeman hadn't listened to orders apparently. Just as he was opening his door to get out, Sarrus came crashing down. The man didn't have a chance to take a last breath. The driver side and top was completely smashed, blood flowed inside, none of it from Sarrus. Sarrus didn't even notice what it was he had hit, just that he was seriously mad.
Getting up he shook his head, which sent his long main tossing from one side to the other with exaggerated motions. Sarrus now on the ground, grabbed the underside chassis and swung the car straight at Emerald.
The Lupine let out a growl in pain as the nails dug into her flesh. But when her hit connected she smiled, the male was flung away from her. But what she didnt intend was the fact that he would land right on a police car.
Sudden feelings of blood, pain, agony rushed through her. Screams filled her Lupine ears as the Police officers gazed upon there fallen commrade. Normally this would have elated the hunter but something began fighting for control within her again.
She groaned, shaking her head back and forth wildly. However the sound of a car wizzing through the air towards her shocked her out of this trance. She leapt out of the way the car sailing towards Amp and Vibe unintentionally of course.
The Beast Snarled at Sarrus, her fur sticking up, all flured up in furry. She ran, but instead of at Sarrus, at the Officers body, she scooped it up her her jaws gently and placed it away from the battle.
The Lupine pushed the hat down over the officers face.
"I...sorry....rest in...peace...warrior" Em growled
The Lupine then turned to Sarrus and Ran full force, planing to ram herself fully into the beast.

Rupert had quietly delivered the Captain’s coffee, and just as quietly shown himself the door. Not long after, he was standing at the nearest point on the barricade.
“Welcome to the chaos, Rup.” A veteran beat cop by the name of Kurt Hook greeted him cynically. “Just got off the phone with your Captain. She said to tell you to get your no-badge useless ass back to your damn apartment if you showed up here. Her words, not mine.”
Rupert trailed his hand over the black and yellow wooden sawhorse that was blocking off traffic. “Thanks for telling me,” he said simply, staring down the street as if he could see through buildings to the scene.
“No problem,” Kurt returned. He hooked a thumb over his shoulder to a squad car, where his partner James Delray was fiddling with an expensive-looking camera. “Want a ride? We’re going in.” Rupert turned back to him, and raised an eyebrow. “Her exact orders: don’t let any damn civilians or any suicidal reporters past the barricade. Not my fault she didn’t mention cops.” Rupert’s other brow joined its brother. “We’re just going in to snap a few mug shots, Rup, don’t you give me that. Our friends at Fox News didn’t get any pictures you Detectives can actually use. Be damned if I’m going to go home tonight with no idea who our suspects were.” He waved an arm past the barricade in frustration. “They’re right there, Rup. And we’re doing nothing but babysitting gawkers.”
“Not nothing,” Rupert returned evenly. “We’re getting some nice pictures for Cynthia’s wall. How many of us?”
“One car, two officers,” Kurt grinned abruptly, “and one no-badge useless ass.”
---
And that’s how Rupert ended up watching Kurt Hook die, from the back seat of the car. It happened in slow motion and without sound. The man got crushed. The muties hadn’t even meant to kill him. It was just the sort of stupid accident that managed to make things even worse. They didn’t even care the officers were there. They just kept right on fighting.
“Get out,” Rupert said quietly to James. The man was screaming. That wasn’t a smart thing. That wasn’t a smart thing at all. “Officer Delray! Get out of the car!” They tumbled through the doors a bare second before the monster threw the entire car through the air. “Cover,” he gasped, grabbing the man’s arm and dragging him towards the side of the building, and the minimal safety of an alleyway. “Move!” They moved.
They dodged behind a dumpster, guns drawn. Rupert crossed himself, and peered out. No pursuit, so far. Rupert’s heart stopped cold. Oh no, you don’t. Don’t you dare touch him. He watched the overgrown fleaball approach Kurt’s body.
It took him a long moment to realize what the thing was doing. It put a hat over Kurt’s face. What the Hell? "I...sorry....rest in...piece...warrior.” The Hell. Seriously. You knew you were in trouble when a werewolf was doing your friend’s funeral rights.
“I think my camera’s broken,” James said behind him, with that tell-tale innocent tone of shock. Rupert laughed abruptly. Then he kept laughing, because this was funny. He didn’t know why, but this was funny. It was so funny, his hands were shaking too bad to hold his gun straight. He lowered it to his side, and pressed himself against the wall of the alley, starting up a prayer in his head even as he kept quietly chuckling. Captain Cynthia was going to kill them both.
