The X-men run missions and work together with the NYPD, striving to maintain a peaceful balance between humans and mutants. When it comes to a fight, they won't back down from protecting those who need their help.
Haven presents itself as a humanitarian organization for activists, leaders, and high society, yet mutants are the secret leaders working to protect and serve their kind. Behind the scenes they bring their goals into reality.
From the time when mutants became known to the world, SUPER was founded as a black-ops division of the CIA in an attempt to classify, observe, and learn more about this new and rising threat.
The Syndicate works to help bring mutantkind to the forefront of the world. They work from the shadows, a beacon of hope for mutants, but a bane to mankind. With their guiding hand, humanity will finally find extinction.
Since the existence of mutants was first revealed in the nineties, the world has become a changed place. Whether they're genetic misfits or the next stage in humanity's evolution, there's no denying their growing numbers, especially in hubs like New York City. The NYPD has a division devoted to mutant related crimes. Super-powered vigilantes help to maintain the peace. Those who style themselves as Homo Superior work to tear society apart for rebuilding in their own image.

Calley
Calley, meanwhile, was doing something that Ted would highly disapprove of: he was memorizing Wallace. Click. Which is to say, he could now shift to look exactly like Wallace. Not that he was planning to go all Body Snatcher on the puppy, just... you never knew when this sort of thing might come in handy.
He also happened to be bouncing on his heels all the while--he was Kitra's little brother, huh? That made him happy. He didn't know why, but it did.
He offered his squeaky girraffe to Wallace. The puppy sniffed it, and bit its jugular in a friendly manner. The giraffe squealed horribly. ((ooc: Is it all right to God mod the puppy a bit?))
"I think I like Wallace." Calley said approvingly. "Would you mind if I bought a squeaky for him? Puppies need toys!"
Kitra smiled, "Thats great Ted. I will need a number to reach you at or I can give you mine." Kitra was working on getting a sketch pad and a pencil out when she paused to look at the TV in shock.
..."The Mutant Registration bill has once again come into the light due to the recent events. Miranda back to you in the studio." "Thank you George. This has happened due to the recent struggle between what is believed to be several mutant groups. The public is in complete shock and full of questions as to what happened and why. At the moment, we have no idea why this happened or what truely occured. Please stay tuned for later updates. We now return you to your scheduled broadcast"...
Kitra looked at Calley meaningfully. She looked at Ted and smiled, "Sorry about that. I was just curious what was going on. Wallace sounds like a great name." Kitra turned to the clerk and gave him a chilling smile as she payed for the Wallace and the things that were needed for him. "I'll be back later on to buy a kitten."
"Calley, when were we supposed to be back again? We still have clothes shopping to do." She looked at him with the expression of play along. "I don't want to be late again. Ted, will you be alright with getting everything to your place?"

Ted smiled at Calley. "If you want to, then go ahead." Humoring him seemed the best option. And Wallace did seem to like the giraffe.
Ted then paid attention to Kitra, and was about to tell her to reach him at the mansion, but then cecided that she probably didn't know the mansion's number, and finding out he was a mutant might not be so great either. "I think you should give me yours, I can never remember mine, I've not got a good memory." It wasn't exactly a lie, as it was an opinion. Not his opinon, but an opinion nonetheless. He noticed her attention toward the TV, but decided that most would be interested in that. He certainly was. Mutant Registration Bill? Making a mental note to ask someone about it back at the mansion, he returned his attention to Kitra and her brother.
"That's fine, I can carry this." The clerk put all the stuff into a large bag, and Ted easily hefted it over one shoulder. "Though I could do with some directions. I was going to have a look at the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters, and heard that the sister school was somewhere nearby. Do you know where that is?" He didn't want to reveal that he was a mutant, but he was lost. Still.

Calley
Calley listened to the TV talking, in the sort of off-handed way he listened to everything even if it didn't have his complete attention. Mutant Registration Bill? Yep. Hunter had mentioned something like that. He'd also said something along the lines of "if it passes, you have to stay at the Labs", which wasn't very nice. The bill didn't worry Calley in the slightest. Even if he got exposed, he had a plethora of interesting incognito options at his disposal. ...If he hadn't been wearing an Explode-A-Collar, that was. That complicated issues a bit. He nodded agreeably at Kitra's excuse to leave Ted--obviously, the bill was a slightly more stressful topic for her. He couldn't imagine why, though. She could pass as human easily enough.
He bought the neon orange giraffe for Wallace, by default that he was having a hard time getting it back. He bought a lime green hedgehog for himself, because... it was a lime green sqeaky hedgehog. With many many rubber quills.
The mention of the Mansion perked Calley right up. And set alarm bells going off in his head. And made him turn his entire focus on this random teenager for the first time. It probably wouldn't be a comfortable sensation for Ted--Calley was now staring at him with the same sort of intensity that let him memorize forms. For the first time since Ted had met him, Calley's mind was entirely present and accounted for. It was a rare event. "The sister school? The Mansion?" He asked Ted. "I know where that is. I go past it sometimes when I'm jogging." Replace 'jogging' with 'spying' and 'past' with 'inside', and you even had the truth, there. "But why you wanna know?" He stared more intently. If that was even possible. "If your next stop is buying a cartoon of eggs and toilet paper, I'm not giving you directions."

Ted thanked Calley for the giraffe; he doubted that anyone trying to get it back off of Wallace would get it in one piece. Calley then went to get himself a hedgehog. A lime green hedgehog. Which also squeaked.
Then Ted noticed that Calley was staring at him. The sort of stare that felt as though Calley was attempting to drill a hole right through Ted's skull. And the wall behind him. At Calley's question, Ted decided that the innocent sounding question wasn't so innocent when combined with that stare. Maybe he should step carefully here. "Oh, my brother knows one the mutants there. I was supposed to go see if she was ok, seeing as how I'm in the area, but got lost."
Kitra watched Calley stare at Ted with x-ray type intensity. "Calley stop that would you. It isn't polite."
"Oh, my brother knows one the mutants there. I was supposed to go see if she was ok, seeing as how I'm in the area, but got lost."
Kitra sighed, "It's cool Ted. My apologies. It's a rather touchy subject, expecially when we are in public. Anyway." She grabbed her pencil and jotted down directions to the mansion. "Here you are Ted. These are the directions to the mansion. Do they make sense?" Kitra handed him the directions and turned to Calley, "Where did you want to go next to buy clothes Calley?"

Calley
"Hmm," Calley hmmed. Suspiciously. "Hmm," he added. "Your brother. Uh-huh." From the dog-buying teen's reaction, Calley strongly doubted he was up to nefarious deeds. But he hadn't suspected that in the first place. There was one thing that was to be said about mutant haters: they did their homework. Getting lost on the way to the Mansion would a pretty silly zealot make. But mentioning the Mansion in casual conversation to total strangers did not a smart mutant make. Calley grinned at Ted. "Uh-huh." And immediately lost his focus. He had a lime green squeaky hedgehog. Ted was obviously a mutant. Squeee-kak! Ted really needed to learn to be less conspicuous.
To Kitra's question, he answered quite happily: "A thrift store! They have the best clothing."

Ted skimmed the intructions; "Thanks, these are great. I think I know where I'm headed. I just need a phone mumber, and I'll be on my way. Thanks again for buying Wallace for me, I'll try to be good model." Tted stepped out of the way of the counter as another customer bought some things for her pet.
Kitra let out a small sigh at Calley's comments and aimed at Calley's head to smack him. "Calley, give it a rest please." She felt slightly abashed as she turned back to Ted, sure she looked it to, "Oops. Sorry about that." "Kitra printed her number on another sheet of paper and handed it to Ted. "Here you are Ted. I hope to hear from you soon." Kitra looked around the shop once more and sighed inwardly. So much for me getting a kitty. At least it was productive anyway.
"Calley, was there anything else you wanted to get before we find a thrift store? Just curious." Kitra eyed Calley wondering what other mischief this boy could get them into. She also realized that she wasn't sure she wanted to learn but would do so anyway...And not by choice.

Calley
Calley sulked a little. If there was one thing he didn't like, it was having people sound like they were about to apologize for his behavior. He happened to know how he behaved, thank you. And he if it didn't bug him--and he had to live with it--he didn't see why it should bug anyone else. Pfft. Silly big sisters.
"Calley, was there anything else you wanted to get before we find a thrift store? Just curious."
...The "big sister" thought cheered him up again, actually. "Let's see what other shops are around!" Calley declared, grabbing her hand and dragging her off again. "Bye, Ted! Bye, Wallace! Bye, Neon Orange Squeaky Giraffe!"

Ted chuckled as Calley tore away with Kitra. "Bye Calley and Kitra!" Ted left the pet store and looked at his instructions. "Rgiht, so it's left down this street, and then the second right, then I go left again." Ted headed off down the street, hoping the instructions were correct.
